Try this place for the fish fry got it two different ways, blackened and fried. both were done perfectly. Onion rings could have had a bit more color and the mac and cheese looks like it's Kraft. Stopped by late in the afternoon. Staff was minimal & place nearly empty. Waitress (Destiny) super nice & friendly, but not too attentive. Long waits before she returned to table, even-through there was only 1 other table she was serving. Kept track of time because of all the other reviews about bad service & waiting forever. Reviews were mostly correct. We ordered wings & fish/shrimp plate, took about 25-28 minutes to arrive at table, had to request drink refills at that time. Food looked & tasted good, but takes too long before the customer gets the order. Did a reorder of wings & waited nearly 20 minutes for 4 wings....seems unprofessional for any food establishment. Perhaps the kitchen staff needs more help or closer supervision to fulfill orders timely. This was our 3rd visit to Duke's. My wife and I were seated promptly and the person who sat us also got our drinks. After waiting a bit, another girl (who ended up being our waitress) took our order. We ordered the Chicken Super Platter (15 traditional wings, 1 lb of boneless wings, and large cheese fries). We were able to pick 2 sauces for the wings. When the food finally came out (which seemed like a long time to me..or maybe just cause I was hungry) it was very hot (temperature) but seemed to cool down quickly. Waitress asked what we were drinking when she brought out the food....but never came back with more drinks until we were finished. My server Brandy while cute, should probably get a job working with her phone. I thought getting a beer took awhile ( only because I started to think they brewed in house ) getting tea took even longer especially on refills. Probably one of the worst restaurants in Winterhaven. The food is terrible! It's not cooked good at all. I got a Philly cheesesteak and they somehow managed to mess that up. The waiters are so dumb. They couldn't even get a basic order written down. They also dress the women in degrading outfits like a hooters.. just a FYI if you have kids. Kinda pointless to dress slutty to get good tips when your food taste terrible. A nice surprise since this building has housed a number of doomed restaurants. The outside has been refreshed and the interior was very clean. Music was playing at an appropriate level. I had the fish and chips which comes with fries, hush puppies and Cole slaw. Very hot and fresh. The Cole slaw was nothing special but the rest was delicious. Also had a very cold and very tasty Duke's blonde beer. He had The Brewhouse burger which is the special on Tuesday. Said it was good and especially liked the toasted bun. Our server Sam was very attentive and efficient. Not a huge fan of girls in Daisy Duke shorts with midriff tops and boots but guess it is appealing to some. Took the family to this establishment after church to eat and watch the games. The place has nice seating and atmosphere inside and outside. We decided to sit outside and our waitress took our order. I ordered a water with lemon and the water tasted like mop water. The southwest egg rolls for appetizer were pretty tasty, nice feeling inside but the outside was a bit soft for egg rolls. Definitely missed the crispy exterior coat needed for the egg roll. The appetizer took about 30 minutes to get out... our meals took about 50 minutes. I had a buffalo chicken sandwich. The chicken had no seasoning, and heavily relied on the buffalo sauce. The onion rings were really greasy and the exterior breading was falling off and heavily salty, the food immediately upset me and my family's stomach. Don't recommend this place at the moment, hopefully management can get it together soon before this place is out of business. read more

My husband and I went to Duke's Brewhouse this past Saturday and encountered the worst manager! According to his FB page, Joshua Powell, who apparently is an Operating Partner, was horrendous! His bartender was restocking the bar for the next shift and took a terrible fall by our table while carrying a huge tub of ice. My husband and I went to her aide and attempted to help her. She politely and diligently cleaned up the mess and completed her shift. After the bartender left the establishment, Joshua came out showing the restaurant footage to the new bartender on duty, laughing at his employee's fall. He then came to OUR table making fun of her and attempting to show us the video. I told him it wasn't funny at all and she needed some help carrying something so heavy. He proceeded to tell us how it was all her fault because she was rushing to get out of work so she could go and get drunk! He continued to insult his staff by saying, "She probably falls harder when she is off work and eff'd up". I was disgusted by his lack of respect for all involved. When I asked to speak with his boss he continued to engage me and try to intimidate me. Then he proceeded to yell "eff Georgia" insulting me further! Friendly neighborhood sports bar. I like it because it's much more roomy than some of the other local sports bars. Indoor and covered outdoor seating. Large menu, mostly bar food things, but all made well and not greasy! Wings are their thing and the chefs do them anyway you can think of. Go early for football! read more

This is our 3rd time here....still not any better than the 1st time. The wings were cold, got the wrong flavor 3 of 5 times. Fries were soggy, cheese to dip fries in was cold and stringy. The manager offered to bring new cheese and then forgot. They waitresses are more concerned with male customers and other tables are ignored. We waited for over 30 minutes just to get our bill with less than 7 tables in the restaurant. Won't be going back again. I was highly reluctant due to the larger amount of poor reviews compared to good ones. Place is a typical/decent sports bar with patio seating that opens up to the inside. This place claims to be a brewhouse, sporting their own beers. Tasted generic. I would not be at all surprised if their beer is produced by another company and simply branded with Duke's. As for the wings... they were cooked nicely with a nice texture. But... Here are my 3 key issues 1. Nickel & dime you: celery with your wings +$.70. Drums only, +$1. Tater tots instead of fries, +$1! I was told up front at least... but its a bit much. 2. Mayonnaise based blue cheese?!?! I can't verify this one... but it tasted like someone just added blue cheese seasoning to mayo. I understand that blue cheese dressing DOES have mayo as an ingredient... but this was gross. I understand this one is more me... but I seek out good wing joints, and I've had my share. 3. Sorry to the server when I expressed that I wouldn't share this "secret" that I figured out by simply tasting a sauce... but, their Nuclear (their most HOT) sauce is... Frank's! Not doctored up extra spicy/flavor infused Frank's. Just Frank's off the shelf. That's just ultimate laziness Duke's! And the chicken wings, after the 4th, noticed were still red inside. 2nd visit we got to sit front row to an interview, and watched this AH manager, ask the very young girl, to see swim suit pictures of her, before he said yes or no. First time here. Lots of big TVs, nice bar, nice section that's sort of outdoors, 3 walls and a screen. Wings were pretty good. The service was really bad. Took 25 minutes for each new drink. They have a cocktail menu, but the server said they mostly do beer, so the bartenders don't really know how to make the cocktails. So why offer a cocktail menu? The other food we got wasn't good. Fries were crinkle cut cheap frozen ones, someone in my party ordered a poboy sandwich which had 6 tiny shrimp on it, and the rest was just a huge loaf of bread. My quesadilla was loaded with chicken, but not very flavorful and falling apart. One person in my party said they'd give the place another shot, but the rest of us, not so much. read more

I won't be back, although our server, Mak was absolutely amazing. Not sure how a bar can advertise itself as a sports bar and not be able to televise all the NFL teams playing when they have well over 20 TVs. Only 4 teams playing at the time and after politely asking the manager to change a tv for us to our game we waited patiently for 15 mins (missing kickoff) before asking our sweet server Mak to assist us. She promptly went over to the manager who took an additional 10 mins to come back to us and after leaning against a pole for another 5 mins, he turned our game on a tv across the bar from us in a far corner. Needless to say, we paid the tab and went to Beef O'Bradys where we were accommodated. This is our third attempt to appreciate this establishment which is right around the corner from our house. Our 1st time to this location and the Bartenders Shelby and Amber were so awesome...they greeted us with friendly smiles...they told us about their specials and made great suggestions...the food was excellent!!! The Carolina BBQ wings were delicious!!! 1st day of Football Season and the Manager Paul made sure we could see our game on the TV in front of us...they have over 30 tv's...highly recommend this place for the food..and great service!!! If I could pick zero stars I would. When you sit down at a place and the menus are already torn to shreds that should have been our first clue to go somewhere else.. We waited over an hour for food that wasn't put in the system correctly. The waitress made an honest mistake, but the way management handled it was even worse. We requested to speak to her and she literally offered nothing but attitude and even rolled her eyes at us as we voiced our displeasure. Seriously? Never going back. I was reluctant to try this place because of my poor experience with the Lakeland location and the Winter Haven location is no different. 10 minutes from sit down to drinks, then 45 minutes from food order to receiving our food. On our first visit there hostess was very rude. Was told all seats were for "the game" and she looked at me like I was stupid. There were two girls that walked in before us who did not have a reservation, nor a seat for "the game" but apparently were related to someone who worked there so they were given a seat. So apparently you have to know someone there in order to get a seat. We eat Out for meals a lot in this town and put a lot of money back into the local economy. But it will never be spent here !! I travel frequently for business. I visited this restaurant tonight in hopes of a casual meal with a sports theme in mind (the various TVs were mentioned by the local hotel). Upon arriving, I was greeted by the hostess and she sat me (1 person) at a high top table in the bar area. I sat at that table, with the menu in hand, for 15 minutes. During this time, not one person -- a server, manager, nor anyone -- came to welcome me to the restaurant or take my drink order. I walked toward the hostess stand and asked for a manager. After a few minutes, it was determined that the manager could not be found. I walked out and have now written this review for poor service. Dukes is a good place to go on Sunday to watch the game. This is not your let's go out to eat at a great restaurant type of place. Don't sit near the bathrooms as they smell. Don't order hamburgers and fries. The burgers on two separate occasions were so overcooked as to be inedible. The fries come out in a little basket and are mostly small pieces. The fans are on high and the air is on low. Asked if the fans could be turned down some as literally everything on our table is blowing. Can't move or we can't watch our game. Manager says that the lights and fans are hooked together and if they turn off the fans then the lights go off? Wow! Wouldn't that be an overload on the circuit or do they think customers are just stupid? Once again, I believe this will be another failed restaurant in this location. My food today was ice cold within 3 minutes of coming to my table. Tried to keep my business here in my home town, but wow!! I saw 2 managers walking around today playing with thermostats so I know I am not the only one that must have asked about this. Then they were off and back to their office. Won't be going back. The food was mediocre. The service wasn't great and then the system was down and I felt like we were being held hostage for 30-40 minutes. The server needs to learn to listen because she kept bringing the wrong thing. I am not sure how hard it is to understand chili on some fries. First she brought cheese and bacon fries and we told her again and then she just brought a bowl of chili. Seriously? We just asked for fires and did it ourselves but the chili was cold by the time the fries got there. The dry rub wings had no flavor and the Dukes wings were very salty. I've been sitting here for 45 minutes. Took 10 minutes for the bartender, who looks to be in training to come and greet me. She then poured my beer and let it sit there while another employee showed her what she should be doing, no less than 3-4 minutes. Following that, I sat there for another 10 minutes while her training continued and waited to place my order. I had to ask another server about the specials for today. There have been no more than 3 tables in here, with guests, and it's been 22 minutes for me to get a burger with fries. Actually, I still don't have my burger and fries as I type this out.
