Mapo tofu, S01. Hot Sour Soup, A01. Egg Roll

We enjoyed expedient service that brought excellent, authentic food to our table. The dumplings, wonton soup and mapo tofu were flavorful and fresh. The only issue we had was an initial off-putting smell as we entered, but we soon became unaware of it.

My family likes the Plano location but this was our first time at Frisco. Everything was delicious! The soup dumplings are huge! We also enjoyed all the family style dishes. The beef pancakes were also great, but piping hot! Watch out. Plentiful parking in one of the shopping centers near the mall. Service was prompt & very good.

We almost didn't go to this restaurant because of the average review being on the lower side, but I'm so glad we did! We ordered the xlb, the beef "burrito", beef & beef tendon noodle soup, and Chinese style grill lamb. Our favorites were the noodle soup and the beef burrito. My husband said he wants to go back and get 2 orders of the beef burrito. :P The xlb were good. I agree with others that they break kind of easily. The grill lamb was our least favorite. There wasn't much meat and the dish just tasted like it was missing something, especially compared to the other 3 flavorful items we got. Based on our one experience, I would recommend skipping most of the middle pages. We can't wait to go back!

This location of dumpling house is better than the others. The ambiance is more welcoming and service was good enough to get you fed and consistent with water refills. The dumplings tasted fresh and plump with the filling. Their dumplings will satisfy your dumplings cravings. The two orders I will order again is the cucumber salad that tasted like a seaweed salad but refreshing and the other is orange beef, which was cut to bite size to make it easier to devour! We will back anytime we visit in town!

Terrible. Food came out like warm, like it was there just waiting to be served. The dumplings were tasty and came out after the main course was served. Ordered seafood soup prior to our appetizers and they brought out the main entrees and no soup. I wanted to cancel soup, since I did not want to eat it after my entree. The waitress suddenly came out with the soup. Curry fried rice, not too flavorful, especially since it was initially lukewarm and not hot. The food was just okay, the service had many opportunities for improvement. Would not visit again, unless I wanted to order dumplings to go. Service not too welcoming, highly disappointed.

One of my craved favorite restaurants and dishes is tucked away off busy Preston road deep in the back of the strip mall facing Best Buy. If you weren't looking for the restaurant it's easy to miss. Don't be discouraged with a difficult find, it's well worth it. The restaurant is clean, well managed and good for medium sized groups. They have circular tables that accommodate 8 for family style dining. Be aware they close from 3-5pm each day. I've eaten here 4 times now. Service each time has been brisk, professional, attentive but quick and responsive. I wouldn't characterize it as overly friendly or chatty but it's efficient and attentive. The food to me stands out and I love their house signature bun or bao. We've had it steamed each time. It's about the size of a pool ball slightly flattened and steamed to perfection. This is a dish that is hard to eat solo or two people as it comes with 8. The flavors inside the house signature bun is very savory and well balanced. It's not overly greasy and the texture of the bao is delightful. Provided are chili flakes in oil, house signature sauce and soy. We also have enjoyed a few other items off of what is a pretty expansive menu. We've found the portions generous so be prepared. We've had the green onion pancake which was just ok. It lacked a good dispersement of green onion and was a little bland for our taste. The green beans with minced pork is excellent it is fried in oil so delicious but not designed for those diet conscious. We also liked the beef wrap or "burrito" it's an appetizer split into 6 or 8 pieces and good for snacking and dipping. The wrapper is light and beef has good flavor. We've also had a few of the other dumplings and would say they are average to above average. But not overly memorable. The key for us is the house signature bun. Having the option of the dumplings steamed or fried is nice and makes for good diversity if you do family style or come with friends. The combination for us of a signature come back dish, clean restaurant, good value and attentive staff makes this one of our current local favorites.

Egg rolls

Was nearby getting our BMW fixed so decided to stop by for some lunch around 1:30. We ordered the soup dumplings, egg rolls, and the jalapeño chicken lo mein. The food was amazing and cheap for the portion sizes! After tip it was about $40. It was pretty empty when we got there but the restaurant was nice and clean. The service was great and the employees were very friendly. Although we live in Dallas, we will definitely be back whenever in Plano!

Soup dumplings and twice fried pork

Really liked this random find! Tucked into the Stonebriar complex. We got combination fried rice, twice cooked pork, and soup dumplings. Fried rice was good, nothing crazy, pork barely had any pork in it & was very oily but very tasty, dumpling could ve nen warmer & with monsoup.

Food was okay. Service bad. No hi or bye, woman asked how many and walked us to the table without a word. Same thing upon payment.

We arrived right as the kitchen was about to close, but they still graciously seated us and provided amazing, welcoming service. The restaurant was also incredibly clean. There is a QR code for the menu you scan with your phone. The food was fantastic across the board. The congee was pure comfort food, and the sesame balls were some of the absolute best I've ever had. They were served nice and warm, the filling wasn't overly sweet, and they weren't greasy at all like a lot of other places. I really liked how the soup dumplings all had individual foil wrappers - made it easy and mess free. Highly recommend!

The beef was so flavorful, and we loved it. So this time, we ordered it again. This time, we also tried the pork noodle soup. The pork was flavorful as well. It was pork belly, so the fat made the meat even more tender and savory. Both dishes were delicious! But of the two, we still liked the beef option better. The ordering process was completely digital. We scanned the menu code with our phones and then selected our dishes ourselves. There was very little "human" touch. I still prefer having a server come take our order, which also makes the tipping decision easier. Anyway, we enjoyed the food and will probably come back again.

This place is absolutely made for a group outing, and we're already planning to come back with a group to take full advantage. The food was a delight. The Singapore noodles had this wonderful curry flavor that I absolutely loved, and the combo fried rice was just as satisfying. We also ordered the Peking duck (P1 on the menu). It was good, though not quite as flavorful on its own as we'd hoped. That said, once you load it up with the hoisin, cucumber, and spring onions, it all comes together beautifully. The bao buns that came with it were soft and delicious, honestly a highlight. We also sipped on hot jasmine tea throughout, which was the perfect, refreshing complement to the whole meal. A solid spot with great vibes, tasty dishes, and room to grow on us even more with a return visit.

The ambiance is okay and unfortunately the restrooms were poorly maintained and smelled bad. Overall the food was just average. The fried pork was not seasoned well, and didn't taste great despite being fried and obviously unhealthy. The black bean noodles were okay and very unidimensional. The noodles did have a good texture and chew. The spicy seafood noodles was also lacking depth of flavor, and it was very underwhelming. My diagnosis: average food with good service.

They…read moreserve the classics -- jja jang myun (black bean noodles) and jjampong (spicy seafood noodle soup) -- plus other familiar dishes like sweet and sour fried pork. Service: Above average. The servers were kind and hustling nonstop. That said, it looked like they were a bit understaffed for a Saturday lunch rush -- only two employees were handling seating, orders, drinks, and checkout for the whole restaurant. Still, they did their best, and it showed. I tipped generously - well deserved. Ambiance: Clean, nicely decorated, and a fair size space. My party of five was seated quickly with no issues. Food: Unfortunately, this is where things fell flat. The jja jang myun noodles texture and chew were great, but the sauce was underwhelming and lacked depth. The jjampong portion was huge (great value!), but it too was on the bland side -- missing that rich, spicy seafood flavor I was hoping for. The sweet and sour fried pork was just okay, nothing memorable. Overall, Dong Bo Sung is fine if you're nearby and craving this type of cuisine -- you'll definitely leave full -- but for me, it didn't quite hit the mark. I'm a bit spoiled by Paik's Noodle, so this one lands at a solid 3 out of 5.
