I really wanted to love The Dumpling House, but unfortunately, the food fell pretty short of expectations. We tried a few different varieties, but the execution across the board was lacking. The standard dumplings were noticeably dry and hard around the edges. It felt as though they had been sitting out for a while before being steamed, which completely ruined the texture. I ended up only eating the filling, which itself was just so-so. As for the specific flavors: Kimchi Dumplings: These were heavily unbalanced--heavy on the kimchi and very light on the vegetables, making them overwhelmingly sour. BBQ Beef Dumplings: On the flip side, these leaned way too far in the other direction and were overly sweet. WOW this place has survived. My first experience at this spot was at least 10 years ago. I've tried most of the menu. It's a hole in the wall spot that has great flavors and a kitschy vibe. A very typical no frills asian mom and pop type place. You don't come here for the service or the ambiance, you're here for the main event. Sometimes it takes 15 minutes, sometimes 30, thats all good. It's worth the slowness. They're forming hundreds of dumplings back there. Definitely a place that deserves your patronage. Great place for vegetarian options! My two friends and I came here on a Saturday around 2:30 pm and found parking in the small lot easily! It was pretty empty inside with only one other customer, very homey vibes! We ordered the Korean Icy Cold Noodles (4/5 - super refreshing but broth was sweeter than I realized it would be!), Kimchi Dumplings (4.5/5 - packed w nice pieces of kimchi and veg), and the King Veggie Dumplings (3.9/5 - not salty enough for me but better w dipping sauce and really fluffy bun!). I thought the crab shumai was the best - it had a good flavor, but they were small and pricey. The XLB were solid, but needed more juice/flavor. The pork dumplings were the most disappointing. They were kind of hard and not super tasty. The inside of the restaurant was run down, and I had to kill a tiny bug that was crawling on the table when we first sat down. This spot has saved me time and time again. Always reliable, always delicious and always filling beyond any reasonable expectation! I mostly get takeout but have some dine in before and let me tell you- it's the best secret a little corner/strip mall has ever had to offer. Be warned that they make everything to order so be prepared to wait a bit. My two items took 15 minutes. There are usually 2 people working at any given time and it can get a little busy so be prepared to wait. I rarely see the spot busy with dine-ins but don't let that fool you, it's beyond worth it! The king size dumplings are exactly that, not exaggerated and truly 'king size'! I can usually eat 2 or 3 if I reallllly try. Mine were with a mixture of pork, beef, glass noodles & veggies- these will fill you up. The pork xiaolongbao are perfectly plump and have a perfect portion of soup and meat inside. A little kick to them elevates their flavor to stand out from the king size dumplings. Though I generally order takeout, I love that it's packed with presentation in mind. The prices are amazing for a product you can taste was made with care and love. Each order comes with pickled veg (daikon?) and a yummy sauce that can be used dipping- or, as I do, for pouring directly into the dumpling itself. First of all the owner dude was rude and very pushy Second they have shumai which has 3 flavors. I got shrimp which costed me 10.99 and has 2 less pieces because its "shrimp". Our group wanted to find a place to grab a quick snack, and since we all love dumplings, Dumpling House sounded great. There is a small lot dedicated for the businesses next to Dumpling House, but it's very limited. We opted to just take a metered parking spot on one of the neighboring streets. The restaurant itself is pretty small, which makes sense as it seems like the only workers here are a man and woman. Their menu is fairly vast, with several different options of dumplings, hot entrees, noodles, and even dessert. Steamed Beef Dumplings (8pc - $8.99): Definitely my favorite filling out of the other options that we got because it seemed more flavorful and juicy, along with the glass noodles that were mixed in. I wasn't a huge fan of the steamed method, as it made the folded edges a bit thick and hard to chew through. Pan-Fried Chicken Dumplings (8pc - $8.99): This was my favorite method of dumplings with the crispy outer shell but soft inner layer that surrounded the filling. Chicken definitely was drier than the Beef, and less flavorful. Xiao Long Bao [Pork] (8pc - $11.99): This didn't taste like a regular XLB in the sense of different flavoring / soup? Still was tasty, but I wouldn't call it a typical XLB. Overall, I think coming in a group of 4 or 8 makes things a lot easier to try a bigger variety of dumplings since most, if not all, of their options come in 8 pieces. The prices that i was charged for did NOT match the prices on the menu and the worker was not very friendly nor willing to adjust my bill to the price they advertised. I ordered chicken fried rice which is advertised at $9.99 but was charged $15. I also ordered 8 piece chicken dumplings which was advertised at $8.99 but was charged $13. Also the chicken pieces in my rice was way over cooked and excessively dry which i wasn't very happy about considering I was overcharged.
