The service was good enough for this small corner shop restaurant. The location is old and worn and I would have rather gotten the food to go eat in a nicer Environment. We ordered: shrimp & chicken dumplings, veggie chow mein, cream cheese ragoons, & bbq pork buns. My husband enjoyed the dumplings. I liked the pork buns. Unfortunately, all the food arrived lukewarm which is a pet peeve of mines. The ragoons literally only had cream cheese in them, no seasoning/flavoring or green onion as usual. The sauces for the dumplings were better than the dumplings themselves. We had heard such great things about this place but it was so underwhelming. The BEST! Seriously. If you are in Sacramento or driving through you NEED to stop by here. As good as Din Tai Fung, but WAAAY more affordable. Every time one of my friends comes here they lose their minds. The dumplings are MASSIVE. Get the potstickers or dumplings and you will be amazed. We ordered the beef dumplings which were PACKED. I would get them fried, but wife is on a health kick lately and I'm in solidarity. Night Market Chicken is like popcorn chicken that has a spice (probs msg?) that was delicious. Similar to pringles; once you pop one tiny piece of chicken in your mouth you won't be able to stop. Pork XLB is a wifey favorite, but not going to lie that the soup in those suckers was heavenly. Garlic green beans were also good, but more of a choice from the Mrs. I'm not complaining though. Need those greens. Also had some jasmine green tea(does that count as one of my greens lol) that was so flavorful that I picked some up on the way out of town the next day. I'm a sucker for dumplings and noodles and Dumpling House satisfies my cravings every time! If I'm in the area, I'll place an order to go. I love their pork and chive dumpling, Shu Mai, and chow mein. The Dan Dan noodles are good too. If I'm in a rush and don't have time to go to Lam Kwong for their BBQ pork Bao, I'll just get it here. Overall, I like the convenience of Dumpling House. They satisfy my hankering for some Dim Sum. Wish they had Har Gow. No shade to the lady in the window making the dumplings. She did her thing. I ordered and sat. He brought me the water I asked for. Cool. He brought my food in a bag. He didn't ask me if I wanted it for here or to go and in the middle of explaining, I just stopped. I opened the bag, spread it out and ate. He walked off. A white dude came in after me and ordered. I was the only one in there and the place is small so hopefully him being asked if he wanted his food for there or to go was a reminder from our encounter and not an exclusive offering unavailable to the mees of the world lol I'll be back tho cause the beef dumplings was good and it's a sign that either they're food so good they don't need customer service like that or it's here for a limited time only lol read more

We both decided to order and share the Shrimp Dumplings, Shrimp & Chicken Pot Stickers, Pork & Shrimp Shao Mai, and Pork Xiao Long Bao. Everything was beyond tasty and flavorful from start to finish. None of the food disappointed at all. If I had to choose a top favorite, it was definitely the Pork & Shrimp Shao Mai. I also got myself an Iced Passion Fruit Tea drink. It was truly fruity, refreshing, and complemented the entire meal. The inside of the restaurant had a nice, cozy feel. The staff members were welcoming and inviting. Dumplings are one of my favorite foods and I just got my picky eater husband into branching out and trying more. We ended up at Dumpling House for a lunch on a Friday and sat outside at one of the tables. The service was great, both people who helped us were so kind and attentive and they made sure our waters were full and the food was to our liking throughout the visit. They have indoor and outdoor seating available and they serve a variety of dumplings, noodles, rice and other dishes along with teas. They have a good amount of vegetarian and vegan options as well. We ended up ordering the Pork and Shrimp Shao Mai, the shrimp and chicken dumplings and the chicken and corn potstickers along with a Thai tea and Passionfruit tea. Everything was delicious, our favorites were the Shao Mai and the potstickers but we also really like shrimp and pork. I loved the dipping sauce they served with the dumplings and that they included chili oil if you wanted to adjust the heat a bit. The portions are also generous and great deal at their price point. Absolutely love this place and they are very quick. You have to be careful with front door as it will fly open when you come in. You also need to close it carefully as well. Their dumplings are really hearty. When you order wonton soup, they separate out the wonton from broth so they don't get mushy. The noodles were perfectly chewy and enough for about three people. Soup dumplings and pot stickers were both tasty as well. Dumpling house has more than just dumplings. There's noodles, baos, and dim sum. I really liked the shao mai here. Shao mai can be too porky or too shrimpy but these had the perfect ratio. One of the bests I've had around here. The dumplings come in 12 pieces per order. Vegetable dumplings was filled with ginger, kale, cabbage, carrots, mushroom, tofu. I liked it but the ginger is a bit strong so kids may not like it. Bbq pork bao had the perfect ratio of bun and meat. It was really good and flavorful. The walnut shrimp was a bit soggy with it drenched in sauce. Keep in mind that I did order to go so it may have been more crispy if I ate it right away. My kids liked the bbq pork bao, but the fried rice, dumplings and prawns were a big miss. While staying in Sacramento for work I've made it my mission to try some of the best local spots and my friends and I were lucky to stumble upon Dumpling House. Although small in size the food packs a mighty punch with its delectable dumplings and fragrant foods. The staff were kind and courteous they made us feel welcome. The restaurant although it's a bit of a tight squeeze you still don't feel rushed, it's comfortable and just has a good vibe. I recommend the shomai, honey walnut shrimp, garlic edamame and the kimchi fried rice with shrimp. I'll definitely be going back for more before I leave town. read more

Ok definitely wasn't expecting this, but it was probably the best orange chicken I have had ever had. It was crispy and tender at the same time with perfect amount sauce and sweetness. It has a lovely subtle orange flavor you can actually taste! The fresh orange zests are a nice touch. The shrimp and chicken dumplings were also very tasty. Comes with great sauces. The dan dan noodles didn't wow us, but they were tasty. I liked the peanut-based sauce but something was missing for me. Not sure what... Expect a somewhat slow service. Be prepared for the dishes to not all come at the same time. I didn't mind so much, given the tasty food and reasonable prices. Can't wait to try their bao and chowmein next time! read more

I was given 1 orders worth of food & when I went in to ask about it I was told they were doing "half sized" orders for the promotion even though that isn't what's stated on the buy 1 get one deal. It's a buy 1 get one of the normal menu item at normal menu price. What I received doesn't even fill up the container half way, definitely not coming back to this location. Our male waiter wasn't very friendly seemed annoyed while taking our order I asked questions about the food and he didn't seemed very helpful in helping me with what to order . I did start out with two drinks, brown sugar melt tea and a passion tea . Anyways ordered the wonton soup, general chicken, and chicken fried rice also ordered some nighttime chicken It was fried chicken was not to my liking. The restaurant wasn't full and yet our orders came out one at a time . Took too long abut 20 min a dish. The soup was good. My daughter did like her fried rice. The pork and vegetables were good but if I had to choose, the beef would win. The dumpling sauces were all so tasty. Love the option of getting plain noodles to go with our food. General chicken and walnut shrimp were very good as well. All had good portions expect the shrimp. While I'm not a fan of everything being served in plastic togo containers (for dining in), I imagine it's not that feasible to use reusable dishware and flatware due to the size of the place. They provide paper plates, disposable chopsticks, and plastic ware to share the food - which happens to be quite a value, delicious, and satisfying!! The folks who work there are friendly and really hustle. Every time we've eaten there, it's clear they take pride in making consistently delicious dumplings. At our most recent visit, we shared an order of the fried green onion bread (otherwise known as fried green pancakes), pork & veggie dumplings, and shrimp & pork pan fried pot stickers. $32 plus tax and tip - an amazing value for what we got!! Came here for the first time and our experience was a 6/10, here's why: 1. We ordered sui mai, XLB, chicken and shrimp dumplings. The sui mai and XLB had no flavor and the XLB was smaller than expected, way smaller! It was so small it fit perfectly in the little plastic spoon. Were used to the regular sized XLB. The chicken/shrimp was the best dish! Definitely try that!!! 2. They forgot about my son's food so he was waiting almost 20 mins for rice and chicken and he didn't even like it when it came, we ended up getting him a pizza from Chicago fire up the street. 3. After looking over the menu, I ended up purchasing: E4 Eggplant and Organic Tofu, $13.50 prior to tax- The portion of this dish is perfect to share for 2-3 people. My husband and I split this and thought it was plenty. The eggplant was cooked perfectly and so was the tofu. But the sauce was on the sweet side, which surprised me since I have only had this with a savory sauce. I would prefer to have the sauce not to be on the sweet side. C2 Pork and Chive Dumplings, $12 prior to tax- According to the employee who took my order, this is one of their most popular (steamed) dumplings and so I decided to order it. This entree comes with 12 pieces and a side of sauce. The dumpling was good and think the amount of meat for the dumpling was good. Steam Rice, $2.75 prior to tax- The side order of rice I made is good enough for 2- 3 people. --------------------------- (Total= $30.72 after tax) After I paid, the employee told me that it would be a 15 minute wait. I think I waited close to that time. My husband and I ate our food an hour and a half after purchasing and it was still nice and warm. I love this, mom, and Pop place! This definitely reminds me of the authentic places back at San Gabriel, where you have the Auntie making the dim sum right in front of your face. It wasn't too expensive, we went and had a bill of $80. But that $80 got us about eight dishes. They make everything pretty fresh, and nothing looks like it's frozen.
