I went here yesterday 3/20/26 to inquire about making a reservation for next Sat for 8-10 people. As soon as I entered, there was a bad smell in the air. Not sure if it's coming from dirty floors or from floors that were mopped with stinky, dirty water. I couldn't stand the smell and left quickly. We came on a Saturday around 4:30 pm and waited for about 30 mins. Restaurant is large and spacious but lighting was a bit dark. Service was pretty slow as it took long for them to take our order and bring out the food. We ordered the xiao long bao, garlic baked fish filet, stir fried beef and scallion, and beef chow mein. The xiao long bao was delicious and my favorite, it was juicy and flavorful! The beef and chow mein were pretty good too. The garlic fish filet was decent but nothing too special. So if you like frozen chicken please come try this. It's awful. And the orange sauce is so sweet it's like a melted orange candy. It's was so hard to swallow. I had to ask for some green onions/scallions to cut the sweetness down and it came but then found out they charged me $2 for it. Wow never going back here. Dumpling Inn is such a solid spot. The dumplings are a given, but the wings are seriously some of the best, crispy, flavorful, and hard to stop eating. The sautéed Chinese greens were delicious. The deluxe fried rice was good. Not the greatest fried rice I've had, but still good. I docked a star only because it was really hard to get the attention of the servers. They kept zooming by, because it's so busy in there, so I get it. But it took me awhile to get some chili oil, because I couldn't get any of their attention. They had the dragons and fireworks showing for lunar new year. The dragons came around and it was super cool. I really enjoyed this place, and would come back again. Dumpling Inn is located in the heart of Convoy, so you already know parking is going to be a hassle. The restaurant is in the same parking lot as the Kura revolving sushi spot, which is always still pretty busy. We asked the waitress and she stated the parking is FREE as long as you're under 2 hours. There's even a small 2 story parking garage on the Dagget Street side. There was about 10 of us and before 11:30AM on a Friday they were able to accommodate us without any issues. The XLB and noodles were awesome, the staff was great and even added a table and chairs to fit our group. Great food and great service, will come back again. read more

Pot stickers (boiled or pan fried) are delicious, coming in orders of 6-10 pieces, depending. The other entrees are very good too - cucumber salad, Szechuan mushrooms, orange chicken (very very good), chow mein, honey walnut shrimp, etc. They all come family style, so easily shareable between 2-3 people no problem. The drinks are very very good too. Handcrafted cocktails w/ Japanese whiskey or a craft beer selection. As with all the places around Convoy, parking can be challenging but definitely worth it. There is also a parking garage nearby. The place is pretty big and can be loud. We sat near the bar at lunch on a weekend, it wasn't too crowded. The service was quick, and then they left you alone, which is nice so you can have a conversation without too much interruption. The wonton soup was disappointing. It did not have good texture or flavor. The XLB with chili sauce was soooo good! We ordered too much so we got it to go and it was still yummy reheated. My buddy has raved about this place to me for a couple years now. It seemed anytime we got to talking about food or cocktails, he would bring up how great Dumpling Inn is. From their drinks, to their food, he assured me that we'd go someday and we finally made that happen last night. As soon as I heard the name "Dumpling Inn", I jumped at the opportunity to finally get to try this establishment. We made our way down Convoy and entered Dumpling Inn. As luck would have it there were four seats at the bar so we had a seat and got situated. We were waited on by Shawn and Morgan while seated at the bar. They gave us menus, a caddy with soy sauce, vinegar and chili sauce and asked us if they could get anything started for us. Both Shawn and Morgan were very attentive and friendly and engaged in conversation with us throughout the evening. For drinks I had an old fashioned as did my fiancée and my buddy had a manhattan while his wife I believe had a martini. For food, I decided it be best for my friend to order the food since he has not only a culinary background and great taste, but also because he's been here so many times before. We had noodles with chicken and steak, orange chicken, pork and chive dumplings and soup dumplings. Everything that was served to us was amazing and I might even go on record when saying it was probably the best Chinese food I'd ever had. I'd never had soup dumplings before so that was a real treat to get to experience. As our evening was winding down and as they were getting closer to closing time we ordered our last cocktails and finished our food. Despite the staff getting ready to close, they at no point rushed us to leave. My experience at Dumpling Inn was everything that I hoped it would be and at no point did it fall short of everything I had heard about it from our friends. We went to the Dumpling Inn today for lunch. It was pretty good.The lunch special egg rolls and shrimp dumplings were really good. I got the seafood kung pao which came with shrimp, fish and calamari. I really liked the sauce, but the calamari was way too chewy. The fish was so tender and delicious, and the shrimp was good, too. Next time, I will probably order it with just the fish. My friend got their lunch special crispy chicken with soup with noodles. They gave her a big bowl of broth with noodles, and a drumstick and thigh on the side just chopped up. She said the skin was very crispy, and the chicken had good flavor, but the broth was so bland. She added the sauce, jalapeños, and garnish from the pork dumplings to make it taste better. Overall, it was just okay, but she would never order it again. Instead, she would order several types of dumplings. She also ordered a Mai Tai, which was very strong. I will probably be back to try some of the other stuff on their menu. read more
