I had never heard one bad thing about Dumplin's from any of my friends so I quickly jumped at the chance to go try a glass of their fruit tea and a slice of quiche. Being a broke college kid who literally survives off of pizza, Dumplin's made me feel right at home with their cozy atmosphere and delicious homemade food. It looks like a girly tearoom, but I'd endure it again for lunch like this one. First, service was fast and very friendly, as in worthy of nomination for "friendliest server of the year." Second, there were six or seven specials for lunch, and every one sounded good. Third, the hot rolls are HUGE, and are shaped like they're baked in a flower pot. Fourth, the dumplings (with a name like that, I had to try them, don't you think?) in a chicken broth were very good. Fifth, the food lived up to its description: sandwich, salad, and quiche, all were quite tasty. Sixth, drinks were refilled and coffee warmed several times. Seventh, our gluten-free request on one meal was handled flawlessly. Eighth, not only did we get boxes for the leftovers, we also received "to go" cups for the drinks, which meant a lot to my wife, who really loved the tea. Absolutely my favorite restaurant in murray. A classic look with a tea party- southern casual vibe. Could get just a roll and piece of cake and be totally content with life but their entrees put it over the top. I get the ham and cheese sandwich and it's served on a roll cut in half. Whenever I go home to my parents, I bring rolls and cake. They would ban me from coming home without it! read more

We stopped here d/t Yelp reviews and it was wonderful. We came at 11a and the place was nearly full. People were walking out with huge pick up orders and cake orders too. All three of us got a dinner roll before our meal and one could e been enough for us all to split. They're $1ea and you can also order a dozen to bring home. They're a sweet dense roll and the butter is sweet too. We each ordered the 1/2 sandwich with a cup of soup. My pimento cheese was good but sweet and I prefer spicy pimento. The sandwich bread was homemade. My daughter ordered the ham and Swiss which was served warm on a squished dinner roll...she loved it but all the more reason we shouldn't have gotten a dinner roll for her beforehand. My hubby got the chicken salad sandwich and chicken and broccoli soup. The soup was good but he never found any chicken. My daughter and I both got the chicken and dumpling soup and it was great...everything seems homemade. We shared a piece of peanut butter pie and it too was delicious. We ordered a strawberry birthday cake for my mom and desserts were selling out while we were there eating. read more

The cakes are good. The food is fair, I would like it more if the Dumplings were homemade. I did not care for the Chicken salad sandwich but I think that may be a culture thing, becuase the food is very southern and I am not accustomed to eating it that way. First time in Murray and stopped in Dumplin's based on reviews and was not disappointed! Tried the pimento cheese sandwich with dumplin soup. Delicious! My favorite restaurant in the WORLD. I live in the Los Angeles area & EVERY TIME I visit my hometown area, I MUST go to Dumplin's. Their rolls are a must! The pimento cheese is my favorite. I drive over an hour just to stock up on their desserts. I used to own a cake business and theirs is by far the best I've had. If you make the trip, I promise they are worth it. Also, the rolls are as wonderful as the rest of the reviews suggest. As far as I'm concerned they don't serve anything else. I buy at least 10 slices of different kinds of cake every time I go. It may take me a week to eat them, but they keep very well. I cannot rave enough!! read more

A "chick's" restaurant but very nice. Only open for lunch, 10-4. Not a huge selection but they don't need it. They're famous for their cloverleaf rolls, which are huge and delicious. (If you want more than one roll, go early, because sometimes they run out.) I usually have the Briar Club salad; it has orange slices, cashews, and an orange-yogurt dressing. Their desserts are spectacular. We ordered a whole lemon-berry cake for my wife's birthday. It was $50 and worth every penny! read more
