I planned for it, woke up early, and made a special trip before work on Thursday expecting the product to actually be available. Instead, here's what I walked into: a parking lot overflowing, a line wrapped around the building, and customers being told the store received two bears total and both were sold directly to employees. Not a single customer had a fair shot. That alone is unacceptable. I then went to the Starbucks inside my local grocery store. They never received any bears at all. On Friday, I tried another Starbucks on my way home, and once again, that store also never received a single bear. At that point, it truly felt like a joke. Knoxville is a major city. The idea that multiple stores didn't receive the item, while others received so few that employees took them before customers even had the chance, is ridiculous and unfair. Whether this was a botched rollout or some kind of "social experiment," it left a lot of customers feeling misled and disrespected. People spent time, gas, and energy chasing a product that wasn't even stocked. There was zero communication, zero transparency, and no accountability for stores where employees bought the items out from under customers. I expect a real explanation for how this happened and what Starbucks plans to do to make this right and prevent it from happening again.
