We were seated right away and were brought out bean tacos & salsa (one for each of us) I really enjoyed it the beans were flavorful and the tortilla tasted great. We had a really good time here. Lots of ambiance, mariachi music, cool decor and outfits on the staff. We were treated very well. The staff were very friendly and professional. We never waited long for anything. We got good advice and information on questions we had. And we felt welcome and cared for. Erika, our server, was fantastic! They came over and sang happy birthday to our niece with enthusiasm and care. It was really touching to see their genuine care and good natured personalities. The food selection was very good. Not overpriced. We all liked what we ate. Good sauces, dishes were well composed, and the portions were good. It wasn't the BEST Mexican food we've eaten. But we liked it a lot. I had messaged this restaurant on open table to advise of the number of adults and number of children and babies and did not receive a message back. I assumed we were ok. When we were seated we were put in two different tables and just became awkward for our party. So I asked for us to sit somewhere more ideal, and thankfully they accommodated us. It was a hot day yesterday but pretty hot inside as well, like no ac. Not a place to take like toddlers or babies since there are no high chairs. Finally, the food and service. So many errors, we were never offered any tortillas or salt or limes or anything. Food was not the greatest and really low quality for the value. The aesthetic and the design is GORGEOUS. they really have a beautiful interior design with plants and a tropical vibe that makes you feel like you are in Mexico. The issue is the taste of the food and the prices. The food is SO MID, and overpriced. I got chilaquiles and added steak. The steak was legit 5 pieces for $10. The lychee martinis are sweet and don't even have a real lychee as a garnish. they don't have complimentary chips with salsa, and the two seater tables are insanely small. The hosts have a dirty attitude which I don't understand knowing it's a high end place. The place is gorgeous but the food and hosts are a no no. read more

The food was excellent, and every dish we ordered was delicious. Unfortunately, the service from the manager left a very negative impression. We had a reservation and arrived on time, but our table had been given to someone else. Instead, we were seated outside. What was especially disappointing was that the manager appeared to seat people he seemed to know ahead of us, even though we had honored our reservation time. The two hosts were doing a great job organizing guests, but the manager stepped in and changed their seating arrangements, which made the situation even more frustrating. I understand the restaurant was very busy, and I know things can happen during peak hours. However, that is exactly why customers make reservations. If reservations are not going to be honored, it makes you wonder what the purpose of making one is. Because of this experience, I don't think I will be returning, despite how much I enjoyed the food. Made reservations for a party of 6 and although the restaurant was very busy, they were able to seat us quickly. Our server was very nice but there are a ton of employees sort of running around without any rhyme or reason. We were served by at least 5 different servers and were asked on three occasions if we ordered something we had not ordered. Drinks are overpriced, could not taste alcohol in any of the 7 drinks we tried. The margarita flight comes in 3 very small 4 oz glasses filled with more ice than necessary at a price of $32. The lychee martini was not all that, it was a heavy purple lavender syrup shaken with ice and topped with a rosemary sprig. The food is mediocre, fish tacos were basic and not bad. Ceviche and aguachile were ok and served with a basket of tostadas and crackers. The mixed fajitas have very small tail on shrimp which make them very difficult to eat politely, a very thinly sliced tough cut of meat, potato's and veggies. The flavor was there but the quality and quantity left something to be imagined. The skirt steak was the best dish of the evening and I wish they would have used that in the fajitas. The biggest issue for our group was that three people ordered fajitas and although they have a very impressive fresh tortilla maker in the front, we did not get our tortillas until about 10 minutes after our meal arrived. We constant to had to ask and remind the staff that we had three orders. The restaurant is very nice with a jungle themed ceiling with fake plants, writing on walls, and a very nice bar. Was our first time, like a week ago on Saturday, and me and my family loved it so much!! We all got a chilaquiles platter and it was delicious and felt fresh. As well as the guac we tried!! My aunt tried the cafe de olla and loved it and said it tasted really good. The appetizer was also delicious. Our server Alma was so friendly and helpful, showing us some of the tastiest items on the menu, like the chilaquiles and tacos burrata as well as their freshly made desserts. My wife and I visited Los Amores de Julia shortly after they opened in Rancho Cucamonga. We always enjoy supporting new local businesses, so we wanted to give them a fair chance. There were definitely some positives. The food was good--I really enjoyed the green ceviche, along with the beans and guacamole. My wife liked her shrimp tacos. Our server, Jose Luis, was excellent, the bar staff did a great job, and the rest of the staff was friendly, working hard, and clearly doing their best. The mariachis were also fantastic. They played late into the evening and sounded great. The restaurant's sound system could use some work, but that's understandable for a new operation. Where the restaurant fell short was leadership. Throughout the evening, management remained at a large table near the bar, appearing more focused on their laptops than on the restaurant. I watched one manager dismiss a member of the mariachi group with a wave of the hand without even looking up. It wasn't a great look. I also never saw management walking the dining room, checking on guests, supporting employees, or making sure the operation was running smoothly. At most successful restaurant openings I've attended, managers position themselves where they can quietly observe the entire restaurant and jump in wherever needed. Here, the impression was the opposite--it felt more like they wanted to be noticed as the boss, than to actually lead. There were also some operational hiccups. Service was a little slow, although understandable for a new restaurant. Drinks were meager at best. Some particularly awkward moments came when staff repeatedly began singing "Happy Birthday" over an active mariachi performance instead of waiting for the song to finish--or better yet, inviting the mariachis to join the celebration. As a business owner myself, I couldn't help but think this restaurant would benefit from stronger leadership and a more hospitality-focused management style. I'd even recommend the management team read Unreasonable Hospitality by Will Guidara. It's an outstanding example of how leadership shapes the guest experience. Overall, Los Amores de Julia has a lot of potential. The food is good, the staff is friendly, and the entertainment is enjoyable. I would absolutely come back--but probably in a couple of months to give them time to refine their systems and, hopefully, their management approach. Upon arriving, we were not greeted warmly, and after being seated, no one came to take our order for nearly 20 minutes. During that time, we noticed we were the only African American customers in the restaurant. While we cannot know the reason for the lack of service, the experience made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. No eggs came on them when I ordered over hard. The place is beautiful inside. They have good chance to be something great. So far they are missing the mark. This is a new spot where Mama por Dios used to be. My husband and I were curious and excited to try it. The restaurant has a beautiful aesthetic. While we waited for our table we sat at the bar which was cute and a good size. Our bartender was friendly and attentive. We were then seated and our server, Jose Luis, was friendly, helpful, and attentive. Our food was tasty. My husband had the ceviche verde and he liked it-it was very limey just like his likes. I had the shrimp tacos and requested corn tortillas, which they happily accommodated. My tacos were tasty as well. Mariachis played during our time there and they were excellent. They added a great vibe-what a great touch!! I have to say all the staff we encountered were friendly, hardworking, and doing their best. My only gripe is that management was sitting at a table on a laptop and they didn't seemed concerned with guests or helping staff. Not surprisingly service was slow at times, but the effort to provide great service was evident. They are new, so I won't ding them for that. We'll go back in a few weeks to give them another try. Very disappointing experience. We were told the wait for a table would be about two hours, so we decided to wait. We stayed for over two hours and were patient, expecting to finally be seated. When we checked again, we found out that there would not be a table available for us after all. If there were no tables available, we should have been told much earlier instead of wasting over two hours of our time waiting. Really, really wanted to like this place! They are so disorganized and there is no consistency. Been there 4x and a different menu/prices each time. The enchiladas went up $2.00 in less than one week. Food takes forever, forget refills on drinks, servers are confused and EVERY single time everyone's side of rice & beans were COLD. They must make the plates up ahead of time and have them sitting there for the servers to grab. I don't know but I don't care to get food poisoning from food not kept at the proper temp. I was so excited to try their food and drinks. I really want to come back and try it, but I just can't justify the way we were not greeted or tended to.
