This is probably my favorite place to get coffee in Davis. The drive through is very convenient for getting coffee in the morning. Their service is superb, always greeting you with a smile. And of course, the coffee. I would say it's the best coffee in Davis. Their regular coffee and cappuccino are much better than the ones you would get at Starbucks or Peets. read more

Stopped in at nearly 3 in the morning on a long road trip. We kept seeing this franchise all in oregon and northern california, and decided to see for ourselves what it was all about. Seeing as how late at night/early in the morning it was, we were expecting the staff to be not helpful whatsoever, and let me tell you we were delightfully surprised! We were greeted by a cheerful young man, and he was very nice. He had gotten our four drinks out within a five minute time span. Driving 12 hours straight, the 911 coffee was great, as was the chai tea, and peach mini freezer. I wish they had Dutch Bros Coffee where we lived :( Compared to starbucks, it is at least two dollars less for a cup of coffee, and the drive through makes a commute easier. I love this place because it serves strong coffee late into the night. I would be on my way back from the office in Sacramento and stop here and get great coffee at 1am, 2am, 4am ... whatever it took to make it to morning. The coffee isn't super gourmet or fair trade ... but it is consistent, fairly priced and served from a clean drive through. I've been here many times late at night when the staff isn't just standing around, they're literally scrubbing stuff. That always makes me feel good about drinking coffee from a brewing machine ... you know it isn't all gross on the inside. During the day ... le sigh. Sometimes this place creates literal traffic jams on the bridge and chaos ensues. During the day, or finals week, I avoided it all together. The drinks taste great and the proportions are pretty good for the price. 24 hour service is another huge bonus for anyone looking for late night coffee. The *only* reason it gets 4 stars is the inconvenient place where it's located at here in Davis. There is always five-ten cars on both sides which makes it a long wait. I can't say enough about this surprising gem. It's a little pricey but you get a lot of bang for your buck, i.e., more drink for the money than say, Starbucks! But the music and energy of the employees are what makes DB worth driving out of my way and paying a little more for--and no, I'm not a college student. I'm not dead either--whatever they're playing at DB, whether it's AC/DC or Dubstep--count me in! This location refuses, not only to split drinks for you, but now will only give you a paper cup. Such a small thing that CAN be done (just as other places do, like Jamba Juice, Starbucks etc), and they won't. This doesn't go with their "customer friendly" motto. Tried Dutch Bros for the first time the other day. My boyfriend and I were coming home from a Tahoe trip and needed to gas up in Davis and I figured I would grab some coffee to wake me up on the drive. I got the Kicker with soymilk and whipped cream and it was delicious! Sweet and doesn't taste bitter or burnt like Starbucks Coffee. My boyfriend doesn't drink coffee so he got a strawberry mango smoothie with whipped cream. I tried some of his as well and OMG, delicious! I am craving one right now. drive thru in Davis annoyingly busy. I don't like americano coffee, and my daughter is now hooked on the rebels (aka RED BULL) thanks to all the neat names like "shark attack." Today was the first time I visit this particular location. It was super slammed with 20+ cars so I decided to go to the walk up window. No one greeted us despite being literally two feet away from them. I finally asked if the walk up window was open and they said yes, pointed to a girl far in the parking lot helping the line of cars, and said she would take care of us. After not getting the sense we would be helped any time, left and headed to the one in Vacaville. Dutch Bros was so underwhelming. I'd heard awesome things, and had some co-workers who are addicted to their coffee. I found the line of cars for the drive-thru very frustrating. After waiting in the line, I was disappointed with my caffe Americano because it was so hot that wax from the cup was melting into the drink, and the espresso had an acidic taste. So I went a second time thinking I'd give it another try just in case it was a bad day. Nope same thing happened again. Dutch Bros embodies the Davis experience for me. I make sure to make as many visits as possible when I'm in town. The employees are hard-working, positive, kind, and show a genuine interest in how their customers are when talk to their customers. Also, being open 24 hours, Dutch Bros makes college life so much easier-whether it is late night midterm studying, getting coffee before an early train ride, or recuperating in the morning after a late night. Finally, the employees at Dutch Bros make sure that the customers have the best experience. When the lines on both sides of the shop were too long, and I was asked by an employee to make a u-turn to prevent blockage of the intersection, I was unable to make a u-turn as efficiently as the cars that had previously been after me, so I ended up farther back in line than I was when I had started. Noticing the discrepancy in how long I had waited and my place in line, the employees gave me the drinks I ordered for free and stamped my stamp card for me. Aside from the amazing drinks, the kindness of the employees and the mood-improving conversations keep me coming back even when I know that it is not my drowsiness, but rather my caffeine addiction that had justified my visit. It's always a great experience and the drinks are on point most of the time. My only issue is the small little parking lot it's located in.
