I was just passing through Portland on my way home to Colorado and accidently locked my keys in my car at a gas station On Barbur Blvd. Lee at A1 Muffler (shout out there as well) called his friend Pierre for me, confident that he would not only be able to get onto my car but would do it quickly without damaging it in spite of the fact that I own a Yaris. He not only got past my slipper but sticky unlock button but he miraculously did it without bending my door and did it in record time and I was on my way. I basically gave him the hot coffee drink I grabbed from the awesome kiosk across the street and all the cash in my wallet out of gratitude because he charged me less than a hundred and came and rescued me on his day off. Pierre was a lifesaver! I was moving and got my uhaul stuck in a ditch in my driveway. Uhaul couldn't help because it wasn't on the road, but they gave me quotes of $250 + for 3 different towing companies. Called another 24/7 towing company myself and got told they couldn't help because they didn't have anyone. They referred me to Dutchman though. I called Pierre late in the evening and initially got a recording that indicated his normal business hours ended at 8 pm. I didn't leave a message because it was well after 8 pm...no big deal-I just called someone else. A few minutes later Pierre sees a missed call and calls me back. He asks me a few specific questions about where I'm at and what has happened and says that the quickest way to get me taken care of will be to call someone he knows in the area. He then gives me the name and phone number of a "competitor". It turned out that the competition (reviewed separately) was only a few minutes away and did an excellent job. Here's the capper...about an hour later Pierre calls me back...apologizes for bothering me but says he just wanted to make sure I was taken care of. That dear reader is some next level Miracle on 34th Street shit (watch the movie again if you missed the reference). Pierre is a solid guy that deserves to be one of the first people you call when you find yourself stuck on the side of some God Forsaken road. My 2016 Subaru Outback died in my garage, after 24 hours having the back hatch light accidentally flipped on. I called Pierre and he answered right away, and was at my house in less than 30 minutes. He got the car jumped quickly, and waited until I was able to back out of my garage, turn off the car, and get it started again until he left. He even called a couple hours later to make sure everything was working alright. What great service! I'll be calling Pierre again if I ever need jump start or towing assistance in the future. Sunday morning, 7 am, I've backed my one ton van off the road and into a deep ditch. Every effort to rock it out, makes it worse... much worse. MUCH, MUCH worse. OK, so this review is about a year late, sorry. But at the time, it never occurred to me I owe Pierre a favorable review. And NO... he did not even tow my truck. BUT HE DID winch me out of a ditch where I was very nearly rolled onto the driver's side bodywork. He hooked and winched me 6 inches, jacked up one side and winched forward a foot, pulled me sideways (oh my God, it's going to roll over in slow motion...) , pulled me forward 3", changed the pulling points, crawled under the teetering truck, pulled, moved, pulled, slowly....slowly.... FREE AT LAST, FREE AT LAST....thank GOD, I'm FREE AT LAST. VERY skilled, very gentle, and he never gave me a bad time about nearly rolling my pride and joy. But he should have. No damage, no insurance claim, no "you're and idiot....", and reasonable price. Doesn't get any better. Edited to add: 8/3/2013 Just reading old reviews. My BF was pleased with Dutchman Towing about three weeks prior to when I called them at 5pm after getting the "run-a-round" from another tow company and AAA (long story, not worth repeating). I spoke to Pierre, who was not unreasonably concerned at first that my mechanic's shop would be closed by the time he picked up and delivered my car. He inquired if it could be towed the following morning. It couldn't - the apartment complex where I lived (and where my car inoperative was parked) was having paving work done the following morning. Any parked vehicles on the lot at that time would be removed and placed in storage until its owner paid $$$ to get it out of hauk. I let Pierre know that my mechanic assured me he'd wait at his shop for my car's delivery. Pierre arrived about 45 minutes later in his shinny blue tow truck. He was courteous, gently humorous (which I appreciated) and he was quick! I paid on the spot - $100 less than the what the run-around towing company had quoted. A short time later I got a call from Pierre saying my car had been delivered safely. Who does that? He also informed me that the mileage to tow my car was less cost than we thought by $4 - how did I want him to reimburse me? Huh??? Who does that!?! Only decent and ethical business people, committed to providing their customers with quality service. Absolutely support this business! I called JP and within forty minutes or so he was at my house with his awesome truck and an even better attitude. He blew me away when he offered to try and start my car with one of his three huge chains of keys he had collected from scrapping cars over the years, so I wouldn't have to pay for the tow (only a service call). I was having it towed to the locksmith because my ignition key had been stolen. Sadly, the keys didn't work, but I thought that was so honest and kind of him to go above and beyond like that. I rode with him in the truck and the conversation was pleasant, and he even got the door for me when we arrived at the Locksmith. All around good dude. Pierre was willing to drive to Tigard when all local towing companies told us it would be hours, despite our car being stopped in traffic. His prices were reasonable and he offered us a ride to the nearest public transit center so we didn't have to pay for a cab. What a pleasant person to sit next to and chat with in such a stressful time. He is such a lovely guy with a great attitude and made my dreadful day completely different.
