I ate dinner and lunch here in the same weekend. Dinner was okay, the menu looked great but for the price I would not recommend going. Most entrees were between 60-80 dollars. You can go cheaper, for example I tried the chicken parm. The sauce was okay, chicken soggy, not fresh. Lunch was worse. Most items are 22-28 dollars and offer limited selection and flavor. There was good but it did not win us over from the bad. We ordered 4 meals, appetizers and drinks. Two of the four meals were good. Good taste and good portion but not something I would consider great. Two meals were so bad they couldn't eat them. My advise do not order the crab imperial or crab cake. The crab Imperial is basically crab meat that has been cooked so it's kinda dry and has no seasoning or buttery sauce or any sauce at all so just dry crab meat. It says cooked in a pastry shell but there was no pastry puff. The manager brought over 4 toasted pastry corners when we ask where the pastry puff was. haha The crab cake basically the same very dry no sauce and very dry. Appetizers, do not order the spinach dip nI wish i'd taken a picture it was bright green, like food color green and no taste. even the cheese i. it has no taste. I don't think the chef uses seasonings! Anyway the upstairs is ok but kinda stuffy and old looking. needs an update. The downstairs bar and bartender was awesome. She made great drinks was attentive and on her game. The downstairs bar is very cool area and at stool are comfy. The outside area looks fun but it was a cooler fall night so we didn't go outside. I have to say I would not go back. The manager didn't really care that our food sucked and said i've never had a complaint about the crab. Well the. you are basically calling two guests liars. My husband and I had a great dining experience the other night . Our server didn't seem very knowledgeable about the type of crab on the menu , but he more than made up for his inability to describe it as he brought us a taste of the blue crab as we had never eaten it and weren't sure we would like it - well we did ! My hubby ordered the crab sautéed in butter I ordered the lobster tail and crab cake . The crab portion was HUGE - we ended up taking half home. The crab , crab cake and lobster were high quality and prepared well. Meals came with standard salads and twice baked potatoes . We were so full we had to take the potatoes home too . They were great leftover the next day! Meal was served with delicious hot out of the oven bread with butter or cinnamon sugar spread . I had a glass of Sauvignon blanc and hubby grey goose martini . My husband and I really enjoyed our dinner at Dutch's. We started with the spinach dip appetizer. It was pretty good - a little creamier than I like. It tasted like it was made with cream cheese. It could have used more spinach, but was generally good. For our entrees I had the lobster tail surf and turf with sautéed mushrooms, a twice baked potato, and I subbed green beans for my side salad. It was all really good. The green beans were perfect - they aren't usually my favorite but I really enjoyed these. The steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The lobster tail was slightly overdone, but it wasn't too bad and it was a good quality lobster tail. Only better lobster I've ever had was in Maine. My husband had the surf and turf with a crab cake. His steak was also cooked and seasoned perfectly. The crab cake was amazing - and I see why they have won awards. No filler in the crab cakes really makes them the star of the menu. The prices are a little high, but that's to be expected for the Deep Creek area and this type of restaurant. The service was friendly and prompt. Our waiter was extremely pleasant and welcoming. We had reservations so we were seated immediately, but even on New Years Eve we didn't wait long for our food. The only criticism I have is we wish there were more "casual" type meals on the menu, like maybe a fish and chips or some kind of gourmet sandwich/burger. First off, the service was awesome. I wish I remembered the name of our male server. He was fantastic. The food was really good and great selection of drinks and they prices were reasonable. We had oysters, calamari, salmon, captain's platter and a few kids meals. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Definitely make reservations. They accommodated our party of 9. We were celebrating my husband's birthday and they brought him a beautiful chocolate dessert. I forgot my credit card and left town early the next morning. I called and they mailed it back to me. I've never been disappointed at this restaurant. Every time I visit Deep Creek, we have dinner at Dutch's. The oysters are always good, and anything I have tried on the menu is delicious. And to quench my thirst I always start with Saratoga and a couple twists of lemon. Very few restaurants serve Saratoga Sparkling water. The service is impeccable. Just had a large family gathering for lunch at this beautiful restaurant. We were set up outside as requested down back on their deck looking out over the lake. It was fabulous. We were shaded under sails to keep us out of the sun and comfortable. Collin our waiter was so accommodating and courteous. He split up our checks by couples and took photos with our cameras as well. Absolutely terrible experience. I have never left a bad review ever but feel the need to. I ordered the filet mignon with crab imperial and hollandaise sauce at a medium well for the steak. Steak came out bleeding and the waitress sent the manager over. He was very unprofessional and did not want to be bothered. Didn't offer anything just told me it looked like how I ordered it. They sent it back and recooked the whole plate and my sauce came back burnt and cooked away. Did not eat it at all. $70 wasted away. My worst dining experience ever. The only positive I have was our waitress was a sweetheart and very good at her job. Would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

Very happy that we did as the two hostesses who greeted us were wonderful and warming welcoming. Our waitress, Sasha was superb at greeting us and helping us to choose the proper meal for us to share and she paired a great wine with our meal! Ate here last night because we were staying at the Lodges at Silver Tree. The best part about dinner here is that the food was the right temperature. The salad was super cold and the food was piping hot. It's been so hard lately to get food that's not luke warm. Portion sizes are huge. It's the first time in a long time that my husband wasn't able to finish his food. Filet mignon was slightly overcooked but seasoned nicely. The seafood platter was delicious, especially the scallops. Crab was definitely the star of the show. Both the crab cake and crab imperial were on point. Fortunately our hotel room has a full sized fridge to hold the leftovers we had to take due to the large portion sized. Will definitely return to try more from the menu the next time we come to DCL. Great experience at Dutch's. Came for a friend's bachelorette dinner and the food is amazing. We split the calamari and crab dip which were both tasty. As other reviewers noted, it is a pricey; but they have a "lighter fare" option too. Entrees come with a salad and a potato. I had the cream of crab soup, and the beef medallions which were cooked perfectly. I also had a baked potato (I do wish it came with cheese and bacon but that's just because I love loaded potatoes lol). Sign me up and keep em coming Hot and spicy shrimp were too salty and barely any heat. They appear to be an attempt at a new orleans bbq shrimp style but rather poor execution. Raw oysters were succulent, briny and well shucked. Cocktail sauce was average at best and could use some personality. The bread and apple cinnamon butter is amazing. Better than Texas Roadhouse bread. Yes I said it! Server Amber was slammed and did an outstanding job despite fielding more than 6 tables large tables with some heavy eating and drinking individuals. Filet Oscar was amazing but sat under heat lamp for a bit and hollondaise was a little bubbly and not fresh and fluffy. Asparagus was well cooked. Did I mention how amazing the bread was!!!! The vanilla bean specs I adore in crepe brûlée were not present although it had a good vanilla flavor. I was a little thrown off with the grapes in whipped cream garnish..lol. A big shoutout to the hostess and my server Kimberly last night for treating me very well despite the fact that I was a solo diner who doesn't drink. While my 9 oz. filet mignon cost $60, it was cooked perfectly rare, the way I like it, and it came with a choice of very good Caesar salad or house salad and a choice of either twice-baked potato, sweet potato, or vegetable medley. I was pleased by both my vegetable medley and the twice-baked potato. Dutch's is right next door to the Suites at Silver Tree, where I was staying, and the parking is free and ample. read more
