We bought a Lennox AC system from Costco about 5 years ago. And AZ air conditioning was recommended to use for routine maintenance. This is the worst company we ever dealt with. They lured us into a monthly subscription that covers pretty much nothing. Additionally we had them come recently to replace the air filter. At that time they were supposed to clean the system, replace the filter etc. they removed the old filter showed us how heavy it is with dirt and that they did a good job cleaning up the unit and replacing the filter but recommend duct cleaning. After spending $1000 more for duct cleaning the svc guy tells us that we need to add another UV system so the coil to the unit can keep functioning better and that it has a lot of dust collected. Keep in mind this should have been taken care of by the other team but they sold us the duct cleaning. And the duct cleaning guy is selling something else and says that it will cost us $1700 more otherwise the system will break down.. this is the way they do business upsell and god knows they go up into the attic and May be messing things up and selling their Svcs to fix the problems they are creating or should have taken cars of as part of the monthly subscription. Very unethical, unprofessional company who seem to care more about how to see their services and squeeze as much money out of you as possible and not have the responsibility to be honest. Professional and deliver good service... I do not recommend this company at all. read more

Some of their representatives are excellent, others uses high pressure tactics that could get many less informed people to buy unnecessary repairs and equipment. The last guy made up some bogus problems, and when I proved him wrong, he seemed to know that he was scamming me and left quickly. Because its unethical to try to generate more business in this way I give them 1 star. My advice is dont be pressured into buying anything. Don't let them scare you about mold--There are easy ways to clean it up. Get a quote from them, say thank you, and and do your homework. It could save you thousands. read more

Right as the first heat wave of the summer hit, my AC stop working! My mom gave me the number for AZ Air Conditioning so I called them. I was very impressed with the polite and courteous representative who helped me. You don't always get that kind of service anymore on the phone and even mentioned to my mom how polite the man was! I was able to make an appointment for a technician to come out to my house almost immediately. Kenneth showed up on time and was able to find the issue with my AC. He made some recommendations and ordered the necessary parts and was back at my house the following week to fix the problem and install a new thermostat. He spent a lot time explaining what was going on with the unit and showing me how to use the new thermostat. Kenneth was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and thorough. I will eventually need to upgrade my entire system (AC, furnace, coil and electrical panel) and I plan on using AZ Air Conditioning for the job. read more

I was looking to replace the 4-zone HVAC system in my house. I had three companies review the installation. AZ Air-conditioning & Heating gave me the most detailed installation review, and also a very competitive price. They scheduled the installation quickly since my system was not operational. I was impressed from the minute the crew showed up. They covered all the working areas with tarps and plastic. They had all the new equipment and supplies to perform the installation on the truck. They carefully removed the old system components, clean the work area for the new installation, and proceeded with the complete installation of the new system. They worked outside on the condenser, and inside on the furnace, coil, ducts and dampers. The crew was efficient and did an amazing beautiful installation and cleaned after themselves. They went through the system zone control features with me and made sure I understood everything. They also ensured me that they will be around if any issues or questions arise. I have never seen a company so well organized and professional as this. I recommend them to everybody I know that has HVAC issues or need system replacement. What a joke trying to work with company through Costco. They arranged the times to come out and do an estimate and then meet with me to go over it. Now mind you they were the ones that gave me the times. They said they will inspect at 2PM which would have taken them an hour to do and then they will meet with me at 6PM to go over everything. I got home and the waiting game started. After 30 minutes of waiting I decided to call them. This is were it got interesting. The rep on the phone said the sales person did not feel like hanging around 3 hours to finally meet with me to do the presentation. I told her the times were given to me by their company and this is ridiculous. She said well the best we could do is email a quote. The quote from other companies gave exact equipments do cost. The estimate from AZ AC&H simply said "your AC&H would be around . . ." With no mention of unit or specs. Now how am I able to figure this out and compare. I guess laziness cost them a job because I went through Conejo Valley Heating and Air with professional and courteous service. read more

What a great place to deal with. First of all they are a Costco Installer which to me is already good enough. Because you know Costco backs all there products. I signed up for there maintenance for my air and heater. They phoned the day before and were very polite. The next day Billy the service tech arrived early (That's a plus.) He was a very nice, polite and clean and explained everything he was going to do. He also put on cloth boots so as not to scratch my floor. It took him about a hour to check out my heater, and air, plus all vents. Did a great job there should be more techs like Billy. The total cost was $79.95 great deal. He also explained about a UV filter system for my house which i am considering buying. So don't hesitate to use this company. Air conditioner company's are notorious for not doing a good job. I checked out everything before i would consider letting anyone in my house. My dobermans have to like them as well. read more

On the initial visit I was charged 75.00 for them to tell me that I need a new water heater. I was going through my warranty insurance company so it had to go through warranty. After 8 days they finally came out to install the new water heater. When I got home I was looking it over and discovered that if you engaged the pressure release valve water poured out of the pipe attached to the wall where they probable should have put Teflon tape, so I call them back to explain the problem and was told that since I tampered with the valve that is would no longer be under warranty. The valve wasn't where the leak was that is in the pipe leading to the drain line. Then I was told that they were recording the phone conversation. I have contacted the BBB and filed a complaint form. I was very dissatisfied with this company and even contacted Old Republic to complain. After everything was said and done I am out 470.00 and still have a leaking pipe. If I could give them less than 1 star I would have. read more

I had a furnace installed four years ago by AZ A/C. Worked fine ever since. Then we got A/C added and the upgrade was nicely negotiated with Allen for, it seems to me, a reasonable price. Then, the team of el nino ( sic ) came, all eight of them, last Friday and installed the whole system in less than eight hours and left the house spotless, they even wore shoe protections. Erika followed up and sent a maintenance technician to check on the system.. The state inspector came today and passed it with flying colours. Two 5 ton units and 25 different runs (all replaced) in the attic and crawl space. They showed up on time, protected everything in the house and cleaned up very professionally. The supervisor took time to walk us through everything and the end of the day. Stephen was kind enough to come back and walk us through the setups on our phone and Ipad. Ran into an AZ sales rep at the complex I live in and took a card. Called for maintenance on our AC and furnace for the summer. Felipe Briseno was the tech that came out to do the service. He was prompt, polite and very thorough. He checked all the components and made suggestions on future maintenance. I told him we recently had new ducting installed and he had no problem going up into the attic to check. Overall I felt very confident with the work he did and would certainly use AZ for our regular bi-yearly maintenance and I would certainly welcome Felipe as our regular tech. read more

Everyone at the call center keeps telling me they will call me right back low and behold no one can find the time to call me back. When someone spends that amount of money prompt service is expected do what you say. We have an old 120 year old house, which use to be a one room school house, and we had an old electric forced air heater had not been used in fifteen years that only had three ducts, so we needed a whole new system. I actually got seven bids from top rated contractors with the help of Yelp and got bids from a ridiculous $20,500 to a low of two at $8,900 and $9,000. The rest fell within the $10,500 to $15,000 range. Our choice was actually the $10,500 bid, and not because the price so much, but because we felt very confident with the sales rep and the over 130 five star reviews on Yelp. Because we don't use all the rooms and we didn't want to heat them, I was curious about the ductless heating systems I saw displayed at the booth in our Oxnard Costco. We signed up and two very nice young guys, Jonathan and D Sean came out to give us the sales pitch. As it turned out, the ductless system wouldn't have looked good or been practical for our classic California Victorian house. They ended up giving me a price on the conventional forced air system at around $15,500. I have to say that we were actually very open to having the system installed through Costco because we know that Costco stands behind any work or products sold through them, which you might not find with another contractor. There are always the chances that with unexpected issues another contractor may raise the prices, etc. Jonathan and D Sean were pointed about the flat price with no hidden costs and we know with Costco that was a fact. Weeks later, I told them that we would have chosen AZ, but their price was a lot more than the $10,500 bid we liked. They came back after talking with their manager and brought the price down to $13,000. With the 10% Costco cash card, 2% cash back on Executive Membership, and 2% credit back on the Costco Credit card, the total for the whole job was about $11,180, only $680 more than the other contractor. We decided to go with AZ, and, it turned out to be an excellent choice, and more than well worth it! This also included a high quality filter and thermostat being offered through Costco as a bonus. Jonathan and D Sean were in constant contact with me and came back out several times. Because we had such a difficult installation they brought out one of their engineers or installation supervisors (Chuck) who crawled under the house and went over all the possible applications for the system. I was impressed by his planning and I asked if he could be here to start the job with the crew on the first day. As it turned out, he stayed here until 6:30 PM the first day of the installation. It took one and a half days for the whole install. The first day not only was Chuck here, but also Jonathan. Jonathan actually came both days to check on the crew and to ask me if I had any concerns. At one point there were four to six workers here and they all seemed very through, with no one appearing to be in a big rush, which was a big worry for us as workers in a rush tend to be sloppy in their work. Before anything was started, they always asked me if it, or any changes, were ok with me. They laid down runners and covered most everything with plastic sheets. The electrician even took some time and ran the wire for our pellet stove thermostat under the house and into the wall when I jokingly asked if he could do it. We had it running under the carpet before that. I have to say that I was impressed with the crew, especially because they ended up having two excellent crew leaders here, Mariano and Ivan. AZ has numerous crews and we were concerned that they would send out other workers the next day, so I called the office and asked that at least Mariano and Ivan were sent back, which they did. As it turned out, the return could not be placed in the wall where we had originally planned so it was installed in the floor where the old furnace had been. It required a custom floor grill and two wall grills that they installed at a later dated because they had to be ordered. Both the office and Jonathan and D Sean stayed in contact with me to see if everything was working, and to update me on the arrival of the grills. We noticed that the kitchen area was getting too warm before the living room, and when they brought out the grills, they brought out an air balancing device and adjusted some of the dampers under the house. Again, when the two workers came out they were very courteous, put on shoe socks, and took their time cutting and refitting the openings for the grill, and adjusting the air flow. So for us, the bottom line is that we made the right choice going with AZ and Costco. I am very picky and try to do my homework before we decide on contractors, which is obvious with eight bids, and this turned out far better than we had ever expected. I would not hesitate to recommend AZ, not only by what professionalism I saw in their employees, but also knowing that if it is done through Costco, Costco will stand behind their work read more

This company definitely does outstanding work. Jovanni and his core team (which consisted of four people and a couple of others who came by) were amazing. They worked extraordinarily hard for about 12 hours, and they were tidy, friendly, and courteous. AZ is very lucky to have such good staff. Our sales person was David Molina. He is very personable, intelligent, and very pleasant to deal with. He took the time to teach us exactly how HVAC systems work. He showed us the alternative systems without pressuring us to go for one system over another. I did feel some pressure to sign on the spot, but that is how his company (and most of the large HVAC companies in Los Angeles) do business, but he was very nice about it, and (I think) he would have left without protest if I had insisted. Bargaining is expected, and I doubt we got very close to the best possible price, but it was reasonable for an investment that should last 15 to 20 years and David was an excellent rep who continued to be available when the job was being performed. Fast and meticulous work, the equipment is high end, and when the installation needed a few extra tasks, they did not charge for them. All in all, it was a great experience. read more

When the AZ technician arrived on Wednesday, August 29th, he looked at the system and gave us a new evaluation of the problem with the AZ air conditioning system. His evaluation was quite at odds with the analysis of the last technician the week before. This technician explained that the problem was not with the pump at all, as the last technician told us, but with a clog in the line. He was quite efficient and repaired the clog in the line, picking up the check I left for the pump. Apparently, the new analysis and repair came to exactly the amount of the check I left. On Friday, 8/31/18 I called the AZ accounting department to inquire about when I would get my rebate for the $150.00 check I had left for the new pump. Alice in accounting was very accommodating. She explained that my credit card was charged $258.00 for the work done, consisting of $129.00 for the maintenance visit and $150.00 for the pump. When I explained that 129 plus 150 equaled 279, she said that AZ had under-billed me. I asked what happened to the deposit on the pump that I no longer needed. She said that she would have to check. When Alice came back on the line, she explained that the $258.00 that I had been charged was just for the maintenance and the $200.00 check that your technician had picked up was for the repair of a clog. She said that he had cleared the drain on 8/29, picked up the $200.00 check, the amount of the invoice and that the unit was now working fine. I asked her what then happened to the $150.00 I gave AZ Air for the new pump which was now not needed. Alice said that she would talk with the technician and get back to me. As of today, I have not heard back. read more

I purchased a system through Costco who contracts with this company. From the beginning I had nothing but issues- work not done on the day scheduled, when it was done it didn't even work!! Had to fight to get them to even come out and do the job properly. The post inspection by the city showed that the duct work wasn't in good shape and had asbestos so it couldn't be touched without a HUGE expense. This was not told to me in the initial inspection. It is now 4 mos after install and it stopped working again yesterday. They now say they can't get anyone out for a few days. I have tried to talk to Costco through all of this and they have done NOTHING and do not even respond to my calls. I have since found out that this product was way overpriced. At this point, ANY other system that works with better service would have been worth it. DO NOT USE them!!!! read more

THIS COMPANY DOES NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY!! Installed equipment with AZ in 2015. They told me there's a 10-year warranty on all equipment. In 2018 the Honeywell thermostat stopped working. I called AZ and they said that I had to deal directly with Honeywell, because they didn't like dealing with manufacturer warranty. WTF??? I call Honeywell, and of course, they tell me to go through the dealer from whom I purchased the unit. I explained the dealer will not honor the warranty and Honeywell takes care of it. A few months later, the system isn't working at all. I suspect blower motor or control panel. Both have 10 years warranty. This time AZ tells me my warranty has expired because the person who's name is on the invoice no longer lives in the house. They say the manufacturer will not honor the warranty. I call the manufacturer and they tell me they absolutely will honor the warranty. AZ will do anything, even lie, to not honor the warranty. Still, I ask them if they will at least come out to diagnose the problem. They tell me they will charge $129 for the visit. This is a steal! I called other companies and they will charge $50-$70 for a service call. Some companies charge nothing at all. I will spare you the details of the rude customer service on the phone. Save yourself headache and money and DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH AZ. read more

I read several Yelp reviews that were negative on AZ Air-conditioning and heating, so I was a little concerned about using them. I bought a ductless Mitsubishi heating and cooling system from Costco and AZ were the ones who were doing the installation. I can understand some of the negative statements, but have to say that this is construction. If you never had construction at your home, talk to someone who has. It's messy, it's inconvenient, it's...construction. Our house is 101 years old and has no ducts, or attic space. This was a complicated job and AZ handled it professionally and with great care. The installation took a day and a half. We had 5 guys that worked their tails off. At one point we had 3 guys under the house, running the pipes and two outside guiding. I am totally satisfied with the quality of the installation. After a couple of weeks with the new system, the temperature finally dropped below 50 degrees. The system stopped working for some reason at these low temps. It was Christmas week and it was cold for Los Angeles! Tony the service manager went above and beyond to get someone out to us. It turns out we had several bad parts on the Mitsubishi outside condenser unit. Mitsubishi wasn't being very helpful getting the replacement parts, but Tony pulled some strings and called in a favor and got us up and running quickly. He even gave me his personal cell number to make sure that the fixes worked. I can't remember the last time I have received customer service like this. I bought this AC/Heat unit from Costco knowing Costco stood behind it. I applaud Costco for picking AZ Air-conditioning and Heating as part of their team. They went above and beyond and I highly recommend them. I also love the Mitsubishi ductless AC/Heat. Can't wait to see how the AC works in the summer! read more

David F was my service tech today for my AC & heater maintenance! He was EXCELLENT!!! He did areas of maintenance that none of the other guys had done in previous visits. He treated my house like a castle- putting on surgical booties to not track in mud since it was a rainy day, wiping down his ladder before bringing it inside, even wearing gloves as to not leave fingerprints on the attic door! David even cleaned all the nasty fingerprints off the attic door left from the last service tech. David is extremely thorough, explains everything in detail, and to top it all off has a great sense of humor! I just wished AZ would have all their service techs be more like him! Maybe AZ ... you could have David train your other service techs!! read more

This rating is specifically for our recent service technician, Andrew W. We replaced our system with a new one with AZ about 4 years ago. Overall, we have been very happy with our system and the service although, surprisingly, we've had to have a few parts repaired in the very short time that we have had our system (incurring some out-of-pocket labor costs not covered by our warranty). For the most part, our service reps have been quite good, some very good in fact, and AZ has been great about scheduling maintenance calls and following through on all of our service needs. Most recently, Andrew W came out for a scheduled maintenance call. I was extremely impressed by his professionalism, knowledge, positive attitude, friendly and respectful demeanor, and attention to detail. It is refreshing to have someone who goes the extra mile to make sure that the client is happy with the service and Andrew did just that. He is a great representative of the company and impressed me so much that it prompted me to write this review. I should also mention that Alfredo, Jessie, and Jack (previous service reps) have also been a pleasure to work with as are Caesar and Daniel who have scheduled the bulk of our appointments. read more
