It's a spacious restaurant. Place is dusty and the condiments look like they haven't been replaced/changes for a while (see pics). The place is dusty and for a restaurant in Big Bear, there's flies inside. We ordered the pork belly with mashed garlic sauce that's too oily (sauce). The cooked twice pork belly tasted like straight up crap. The orange chicken does not tasted like the orange chicken you get from Panda or any other Chinese restaurants. It tasted like it was mixed with vinegar and loads of onions. The sauteed lamb was so disgusting. Imagine lamb soaked in sea water for years then add lots of onions, peppers and chili sauce. If you ever visit Big Bear, avoid this restaurant and just go to a McDonald or any other burger joint. read more

I obviously did not read yelp before going to this restaurant first off the restaurant was empty should've been a red flag it was hot as ba--s in there the prices seemed regular so proceeded to order got a soda this was flat and yucky we ordered 3 entrees vegetable chow mein spicy garlic chicken and fried spicy tofu it all was very bland and definitely not spicy or tasty the portions were small which in this case were great cus I did not finish it or want to take it home that's how bad it was Didn't taste like any Chinese food I'm used to don't recommend will never go back oh BTW the 2 stars Is for location peace out read more

We had trouble communicating with our waiter and got some orders confused. We also ordered some raspberry iced teas but they tasted like water with a hint of raspberry. The eggplant was by far the best and it was delectable, but everything else was so salty that we could barely eat it. The dan dan noodles were inedible, and the mapo tofu was tasteless but STILL managed to be salty. The lamb had a good flavor, but again was too salty. I must admit that I had some hesitation about eating here. Dynasty is the only Chinese restaurant in Big Bear and the closest competitor I saw on Google Maps was an hour drive away. We were craving Chinese food so we decided to give it a shot and we were glad that we did. All of us enjoyed our dinner. They apparently offer a buffet at lunch but since we were there for dinner it wasn't operating. They also have some lunch specials that look like a great deal with $8.50 getting you soup, an egg roll, fried rice, and a salad. We started off with some pan fried dumplings, which had a generous amount of meat. They also brought us extra rice in a covered pot so that it would be warm when we needed it. I thought that it was a nice touch. It certainly wasn't the best Chinese food I've ever had but it was much better than I expected. They also have a full bar available. Excellent delivery. Called, smoothly handled my order & credit card. Said delivery would be in 1 hour, and it was within 45 minutes. The delivery person was friendly, conformed to all COVID19 protocols when they got close to my door, and was wearing a mask firmly strapped in place. I tipped in advance on my credit card to maintain social distancing. The food was better than I expected -- care was taken with the ingredients and the style. If you're looking for authentic feeling Szechuan, the Chef's Choice menu is where it's at -- those dishes compare favorably to all the popular Szech restaurants in LA or Monterey Park. Their duck was way better than expected -- I had worse duck at the place that gets rave reviews across from Tiananmen Square. The food marked "spicy" on the Chef's Choice menu is spiced at the "entry" level for the American palette -- you would need to request spicier. Entry level means the stuff burns mildly on your hands & cheeks, and if you talk with your mouth full you might feel like you've inhaled mustard gas, but you can chow down and enjoy larger quantities of it without stomach distress or other adverse reactions to super spicy Szech cuisine. I might prefer more ma-la but it was definitely there. The portions are cheap and large sized. 4 dishes will feed an army. Things were so cheap I was very pleasantly surprised at the high quality of the meat and vegetables. Places in Monterey Park might have sharper sauces but I might end up spitting out half of what's on my plate and still have stomach distress later. I don't know why there are poor reviews of this place. I suspect people don't know what to order or expect the exact same style as their Americanized neighborhood take out joint. read more

Where to start?? 1st let me start by saying we're from Phoenix, AZ and rented a house here for the week and tried a different place each night for dinner and this was the worst. We weren't expecting Panda Express something a little more traditional but ughh. Ordering was pretty easy, we walked in a the gentleman at the portable counter(has wheels and reminds me of something that belongs in a mechanic shop)was nice. Idk why they don't use the nice check in counter that's built in. Regardless the gentleman was nice and took our order. I'd say about 30mins later it was ready, He brought it out in a box seeing as it was many orders and easier to carry ($115 worth of food). I counted the boxes and asked for sauces. Then tipped him $17 because he was very nice from ordering to walking out. NOW, once we got home and started diving the food up it did NOT look promising at all. Everything tasted of garlic EVERY PLATE. The chow mein was literally brown spaghetti noodles, very dry, we had to drench in soy sauce. The beef and broccoli had 8 yes I counted them 8 pieces of broccoli. The orange chicken texture & look reminded me of pork rinds in sweet & sour sauce. The chicken & cashews tasted fishy so we just threw it out right away. The Kung Pao chicken was the only decent entree and that might have been because the chili peppers overpowered the rest of the concoction. There's not a lot of choices for Chinese food up here in the mountain so I was prepared to be underwhelmed, but I was pleasantly surprised! It was good, tasted authentic and price was reasonable too! There's no indoor dining during my trip so I called for pickup and the one who picked up was very friendly and accommodating to my special requests. It was during lunch time and my food was ready within 20 minutes, which was when I arrived so I didn't have to wait long. Inside decor is pretty decent and reflects its Chinese heritage, I'd feel comfortable dining in when and if that becomes available. Parking is easy and free behind their restaurant. I only ordered the basics which is chow mein and fried rice since this was my first time and I wanted to test it out first. But I will definitely try other dishes in their menu next time! If you are craving Chinese food after a long day of snow playing, or just plain hungry and want delicious Asian food, I'd recommend this place for that! read more

During a recent trip to California with my friends, I discovered Dynasty---a wonderful Chinese cuisine in Big Bear Lake . It is located just several blocks east of the Village, with a big parking lot in the rear. The waiter was very friendly and experienced, although he looked quite young. The Manu has a " contemporary Chinese " style, one section even has wine pairing suggestions for every course. We were surprised to see the names of many regional Szechuan courses that are not well known, let alone popular outside the Chinese communities. Then the real shock came minutes later: these courses are as delicious and authentic as you can get anywhere. Most small town Chinese restaurants just settle for Americanized moneymakers like Sweet & Sour Pork and Kong Pao Chicken. But I got the impression that the owner of Dynasty must have a true passion for the art of fine dining and drinking, and believes his passion and efforts will find great appreciation even in the snowy mountains of Big Bear. read more

To start they brought egg rolls, dumplings (a bit mushy, didn't eat it), some kind of shrimp skewer (not a fan of seafood so didn't try that either), very tasty beef skewers (you heat at the table). We had the wonton soup, Chicken chow mein, Kung pao chicken, Mongolian beef, and fried rice. It was all good but slightly bland. My favorite was the wonton soup. I ordered food for delivery, the first time sampling this restaurant. I'm no Chinese gourmet, but am very aware of the quality of oils used for frying, ditto with the texture and breading. The fried shrimp, egg-rolls and sweet 'n sour pork were all luscious, crispy and light, and oil was super-fresh and light (sunflower oil?). The egg-drop soup was subtle but tasty. EVERYTHING was yummy- the fried rice (with egg), the sweet 'n sour sauce (with a definite depth, umami, not just sweet), the tender pork- as good as I've ever had. The sweet onions, bell peppers and pineapple were crisp, fresh and flavorful. LOTS of food, enough for dinner and lunch the next day. The fellow who took my order was friendly and welcomed my questions even though it was close to closing time. And the delivery driver was likewise upbeat and appreciative (and masked). Great food. I always measure a Chinese Restaurant based on my liking their Orange Chicken or something similar. Their Orange Peel chicken was delicious - not soggy, but the right amount of crisp with the sauce in the right amount of tanginess. The skewered beef and chicken on that warmer is a great idea - I like the skewered meat a little more darker in its cooking. Our server was really helpful in providing the food as well as the questions we had. The place though is a little run down and could use some improvement - I like the quaintness, but the fading of upholstery and paint doesn't match well with it. read more
