I first discovered Dynasty Restaurant through a Yelp event, and ever since then, I've found myself coming back for more -- a handful of times, in fact. My most recent visit was just last week. After a long day, my gf and I stopped for dinner around 9:30 pm and, as always, were quickly seated and greeted with a pot of their delicious green tea. I've never really been much of a tea person, but there's something about *this* tea that I actually look forward to every time. To start, we ordered the shrimp dumplings, which were absolutely delicious and among the best I've had. For the mains, we shared the stir-fried string beans with pork, which were solid, but the real highlight was the seafood in XO sauce. The fried tofu in the dish is incredible -- I seriously can't get enough of it. The fresh seafood (octopus, scallops, squid, shrimp) is cooked to perfection, making it one of the best seafood dishes I've ever had. I'm completely obsessed with it, and I can't recommend it enough. Pair it with some white rice, and you've got a meal that never disappoints. I'm happy to write my 100th review for Dynasty, which has quickly become one of my go-to spots in Boston for authentic Chinese food. This place is a true gem in Chinatown! read more

I'm going to come right out and say that Dynasty has the best Hong Kong style Cantonese food in the Boston-metro area. There are no carts being pushed around here, only attentive waitstaff along with an easy-to-read English/Chinese menu for you to check off what you want to order, authentic, delicious, made-to-order and fresh. They serve dim sum but they also have other snack/lunch/dinner menu items. Dim sum dishes worth mentioning are char siu sou (叉燒酥) which is a savory pastry filled bbq pork, pan fried turnip cake with xo sauce, beef brisket with noodle rolls, spareribs with taro, pineapple buns, adorably decorated red bean piggy, minion, or black sesame w/ gold buns (very instagrammable). If you're lucky enough to attend an event here (wedding or birthday celebration) then you're going to want to take leftovers home (no joke-they supply containers). Their event menu is visually stunning, unique, and I can tell you that your taste buds will remember it like nothing else you've had around in these neck of the woods. For example I distinctly remember the lobster, crab, fancy chicken ginseng soup, and legendary dish served in a fresh pineapple that is unforgettable. I'm legitimately salivating from the memory. My husband and I stopped in after the ballet at the Opera House. It was a short walk on a very vibrant Saturday night. We were sat right away and the server brought us a nice pot of jasmine tea. We ordered steamed veggies, shrimp and chive dumplings, and soup dumplings. Veggies came up right away and the shrimp dumplings a little later. After about 40 minutes we had to ask about our soup dumplings. They came up 5 minutes later. We were thinking to order more food but no one ever came to ask. A little disappointed. Came here on a Sunday around 11AM and luckily didn't have to wait! We got a variety of dim sum items including congee, shrimp dumplings, turnip cakes, and more! The shrimp pieces were quite large and juicy, and the items were hot. My least favorite items were the quail egg dumpling (it was quite hard), and the minion buns (not much filling inside). The truffle dumplings also didn't have a strong truffle taste. My fave were these chive dumplings - crispy and delicious! The turnip cakes were also smooth and soft. Ambiance is nice, new, and clean. We got many of our dim sum favorites like siu mai, spareribs in black bean sauce, buns, etc. But everything was either tasteless or kind of cold. The spareribs in black bean sauce had basically no black bean and they also forgot we ordered it. We ended up waiting a long time for it. The siu mai, feng zhao & veggies were lacking flavor. We had a less than mediocre experience at Dynasty. It was our first time there and went on a Friday afternoon. We were immediately seated. The place does look clean and bright. It is made to order dim sum. The food was subpar. The sui mai was the worst I've ever had. I couldn't even finish my piece, which is kind of mind-boggling. The meat was so chewy and tough, with such a strange flavor that I questioned what kind of meat it really was. Everything else was fairly decent, although not as fresh I would have liked. Our pineapple baked pork buns came back lukewarm and the bread somewhat dry.. But the meat filling was really good. The fried turnip dish was similar to the salt and pepper dishes but with turnip.. It was different and delicious, probably our favorite dish. Also got the xiao long baos, which were juicy and decent. However, they were pretty small. We actually really like the shrimp rice rolls too, and it was a plus that it also came with vegetables on the bottom. Definitely better dim sum anywhere else. I may have found my favorite dim sum place in Boston. I've been here 3 times and it's been great every time. It's not the push cart dim sum place but one where you order via a sheet and they make it to order. I found a new love for pineapple plus bbq bun. These are literally baked fresh and perfect. Shrimp rolls are soft and pillowy. I love a good molten salted egg yolk bun and these were perfect. We always get our usual shrimp rolls and shrimp dumplings, so good. Google map led us to our most disliked café in Boston so we decided to Uber to Chinatown for dim sum breakfast. What a pleasant surprise. Every single item was excellent! Highly recommend the lobster in green scallion and ginger. It was the best lobster I've had, fresh and tasty. One lobster costed $27 without noodles, which was a better deal than steamed lobster without any flavors in most other eateries. I also recommend sesame roll, yogurt cake, sticky rice in lotus leaf wrap, beef ball and bean curd wrap with minced pork. They are absolutely delicious! Great service. The owner and staff were super nice to us. They were polite, respectful and helpful. They even let us store our leftovers in their refrigerator until we retrieved it in PM. Very kind people whom well deserved our gratuity. Located in Chinatown and a short walk from entry gate. The surrounding vibe was peaceful and tranquil. Good: service is very good here compared to the other Chinatown spots I've been. If anything is wrong they're more than happy to fix it. The scallion pancakes are very good with a generous portion and reasonable price. Ambience isn't bad at all, clean and like any other Chinatown sit down place. Could be better: I ordered tofu off of the "vegetable" section under the guise that it would be vegetarian. I didn't feel the need to say "I'm a vegetarian" since I was ordering off of that section of the menu. The tofu had shrimp in it!!! They took it off the bill, and let me know I had to specify vegetarian in the future. They offered to make me a different one or tofu without shrimp (excellent service) but I was full from the scallion pancake so declined. I ordered fried tofu and didn't realize it would literally be only fried tofu. This part was my mistake. The interior has this weird 70s futuristic fluorescent decor look to it but because this is actually kinda characteristically Chinese, I felt right at home! The food, oh man. So fresh! I swear these days into most dim sum restaurants and I'm like man when was this made... but not with this place. Everything tasted so fresh, from the turnip cake to the shrimp rice rolls, everything was warm and savory and delicious. Their desserts did not disappoint either, with an outstanding rendition of the molten lava egg bun. Reasonably priced for what it is. Today I tried their fried salted pepper eel and it was so delicous. It was fresh, perfectly fried and seasoned. I also tried my usual go to dishes and it never disappoints. The lobster noodle dish was so flavorful and lobster meat was so sweet and juicy. The sweet and sour pork had the perfect balance of sweetness and sourness and the pork was cooked perfectly, perfectly fried exterior and soft juciy interior. All the other dishes was amazing as well, would definitely recommend trying the yin yang fried rice, the geoduck with vermicelli, beef with broccoli, shrimp with mayo, and the string beans. Another reason I really like dynasty is that, you can even order some dim sum dishes, I especially love their variety of mini bums. Got to try their curry bun and it was so delicious. Really solid dim sum and other Chinese food. There is usually a wait for dim sum on the weekends. They also offer takeout which we have taken advantage of. For dim sum, they don't do carts but rather bring the food directly from the kitchen. I find the food is typically fresher this way. We have liked everything we ordered for dim sum like the shao mai, steamed bbq pork bun, shrimp dumpling, xiao long bao, molten egg yolk bun. The entrees (not dim sum) are very large and definitely shareable. Last time we tried the beef filet with black pepper sauce, I was not a huge fan of the flavor or chewy beef texture. I've been hearing great things about Dynasty, the new Cantonese place on the block (aka Chinatown), but wasn't sure if I should believe the rumors. My mom and I decided to get delivery to try out a few dimsum dishes. Our usual go-to is Ming's in Malden, and while some of the dishes we tried weren't quite as good, we were still pleasantly surprised and even found some excellent competition. My favorites were the steamed shrimp and chive dumplings (plumply filled and fresh), deep fried pork dumplings (crispy but not oily exterior with a good amount of savory filling), and black sesame rolls (exactly how they should be made -- delicate and nutty, they're hard to find these days!). The shrimp dumplings (harkow) were decent as well. I thought the steamed bbq pork buns were filled well but the dough was somewhat gummy. The beef balls with watercress were a bit of a let down -- they were a little bland and had a spongy, kind of fatty texture. Usually I would prefer dining in for dimsum for freshness and way better prices, but the occasional weekday indulgence hits the spot. Uber Eats was a bit slow but the food came neatly packaged, and our order was correct (not a given!). I'm hoping to go to Dynasty in person sometime soon, both for another round of dimsum and for dinner. I grew up eating Canto food at home and in restaurants, so it holds a soft spot in my heart and stomach. It would be awesome to add this place to my rotation. read more

Dynasty is a new Dim sum spot that recently opened a month or two ago. Everything about this place is a yes! The whole restaurant is decorated very nicely, giving a sophisticated look with some fun blue walls- Shinee backkkk. The restaurant seems pretty small but then you walk closer to the bar to see even more seating. Like other dim sum restaurants you order from the small paper on your table and pick what you want and how many. Most things were responsibly priced at $8-$15.We got 5 dishes and I felt full and satisfied between two people. They came out with all the food very quickly and everything was delicious, not one complaint. My favorite dish was the steamed ribs with rice noodle rolls, they are for sure one of the items to order if you visit. Our bill was $46 for the two of us which also included the tip. I can't even name a restaurant where I've had a meal that I pay under $25 for pp. This is now on my list as a go to stop when I'm in chinatown and I will be bringing my friends and family. As a vegetarian, I'm always hesitant when someone recommends going for dim sum, but my husband loves dim sum so we try to go when we can. Our friend took us here for breakfast one morning and I'm actually so glad we went! The inside is nicely decorated and feels much more modern than other Chinese restaurants I've been to. It is a bit of a tight space, but we had plenty of space for the three of us. We ordered quite a few dishes: steamed vegetables, scallion noodle rolls, fried dough rice noodle rolls, custard roll, molten egg yolk sesame balls, red bean minion buns, and dumplings which had meat in them. The stars of the show for me were the fried dough rice noodle rolls and the molten egg yolk sesame balls! I almost wish we ordered more of these despite being so full afterwards. I always judge a dim sum restaurant by their siu mai, because that's my favorite dim sum item. The pork wasn't as juicy as I've had at other places. It wasn't bad but felt lacking. All of the meat items we ordered (beef cheung fun 牛腸, steamed pork in tofu skin 鮮竹捲, steamed cha siu bao) were similarly dry and not as flavorful as I'd like. I tried here over the weekend. It was very busy as it should be on a Sunday morning at 11am. The ambiance is really nice, it felt like I was in a fancy night club. Though it has 2 sections, it's a bit tight. They have a high top bar in the other section, I mainly saw parties of 1 or 2 sitting by it. The servers were very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. Prices are good. Forgot to take a photo of the menu but within $6-$8 per item and a couple items were $10-14. The portions of some of the items bigger than I expected in comparison to other dim sum places like the spare ribs with taro, the pork & shrimp shaomai and the shrimp dumplings. I enjoyed the experience here. I walked past by this place one day and it looked really nice inside. And the window says dim sum. I looked up on Yelp and was surprised by the high ratings. I decided to check it out another day. I like the fact that it opens at 9 AM daily for dim sum. Dim sum is served daily from 9 AM to 3 PM. This is actually rare because most dim sum places open at 10 AM around the Boston area. The food first. This is the best shrimp dumpling (har gow) I've had in recent years. It's been many years since my trips to SF and Vancouver (where they have the best dim sum in general), but I think this har gow is definitely one of the top ones out there. You can taste the freshness and the shrimp filling is generous. Actually, I think it says dim sum is made to order. The food definitely takes longer to be served. The shu mai is also very good. I also tried the congee and sticky rice. All very fresh and delicious. I think for weekdays, you can generally be seated with little wait if you come early. On the weekends, definitely try to come before 9:45 AM if you want to be seated right away. The only thing is that in the back room, it's really crammed. The indoor air ventilation was good during the first hour or so, before it got too crowded. Service was friendly, but relatively limited English. Primarily Cantonese. I love Dynasty, so much so that I came back within a month or so! Both times I went for dim sum on a weekend, so I don't know much about their regular menu. Every dish I tried off the dim sum menu was absolutely delicious and the prices were pretty reasonable. I saw lots of families that ordered tons of dishes and not gonna lie, I was pretty jealous! To order, you check off the items you want on a slip of paper. The waiter came around frequently to refill our tea and check in. The restaurant itself is pretty nice and modern, with a decent amount of room. In terms of the food, you've gotta try the Golden Black Molten Egg Yolk Bun, which has a unique sweetness to it.
