Cons- Way too pricey especially for a weeknight, not that much selection but worst of all is they only put out a half tray of crab legs every half hour. They have even posted a sign at the legs to this extent. This particular night a fight almost broke out between people rushing for a new batch. Words were exchanged. What's wrong is all of a sudden they brought out another tray instead of waiting. For the money they charge there should be a FULL tray there most of the time. Don't think I'm coming back. read more

Service is not bad considering that it is a buffet, our waitress stopped by several times for soda refills and plates were cleared quickly. Yes, it is a Chinese buffet, so don't come expecting high end sushi or BBQ. You immediately get a sense of what is about to happen when you pay upfront before you are seated. This place is a place of business. People are here to EAT. Atmosphere: Neon, plastic decor, similar to many NJ diners. The place is not as big as you would expect from a buffet. As others have said, it is LOUD, people are hustling to cram food down their gullets. Several hours later, the volume in the dining area has noticeably turned down as people occasionally stir from their -itis. Food: Sushi - Disappointing, but I was stupid to expect more at these prices, I guess. Small selection of common sushi and few rolls. Barely enough to call it a sushi bar. Taste of salmon was ok, and it flew off the plates quickly. Meats- nice selection of steak (decent, think outback), chicken, kalbi (yes!), sausage, and sliced duck on buns. Every other place in North Jersey is infested with cockroaches (literally every other buffet on yelp has a cockroach or bug problem and their food is stale and cold). But the food selection is very very small and their tripe tastes very weird, and it's cheaper at other places with more food. The price is too much for what they actually offer. This place is worth $8-10. If you want to eat without health concerns come here, it's a nice atmosphere and the owner actually cares about presentation and standards (unlike most places). If you want a good buffet at a price worth the money, don't come to Northern New Jersey. If this was in another part of the US it'd be 3 stars only for the food, but compared to its competition its a five star hotel. The food is very good if you're interested in meat, fruit and seafood. The sushi chef will make a plate of rolls for you if you ask. I tip additionally whenever I ask for anything that is not available. The worst part about this buffet is the way other diners shove and push to get to food. It's really not that serious at all. People will step in front of you or even guard the counter if they see new crab legs being put on the table. It's ridiculous. The staff is attentive and helpful. I've only ever had one poor experience with the staff when I mentioned I found something on the seafood and asked if it was safe. Instead of assuring me everything was safe, they tried to force me from my table to read the posted signs about eating at my own risk. It's your typical Asian-American all you can handle buffet lol. Great selection ranging from typical Chinese food; Japanese sushi; American finger foods; plus a few notable extras like a grill station with ribs, short ribs, and steak pieces. The food was tasty and very satisfying. I'm not a fan of seafood but they also had the always popular crab legs which as usual has diners hawking over the buffet every time they replenish the trays lol. The service is great, my cup was never empty, and uses plates were quickly discarded. I have to say that I am normally not a fan of Asian buffets but I have found that Dynasty Buffet has become my go to spot when I want to enjoy variety at a relatively reasonable price. I have found that the food quality is always consistent and tasty. Granted this is not steakhouse quality prime beef at the grill but then again your not at a steakhouse or paying anywhere near steakhouse prices, with that in mind the adage 'you get what you pay for prevails' I happened to try Hibachi Grill and Supreme Buffet and found that you are in fact paying less for food that is inferior and lacking of quality, Dynasty Buffet although more costly of the two is by far the better value and quality in the dishes offered. I particularly enjoy the oysters which are always fresh and tasty and the crab legs which are ample, the Kalbi short ribs although a bit chewy are yummy and a guilty pleasure of mine. One other difference between the two buffets is the service, the food at Hibachi Buffet is left standing and not given the attention it is at Dynasty which I was definitely able to visibly notice the difference in food handling and attention to detail. I've been to quite a few Asian buffet restaurants in the NJ and NY area and this is by far the best one! I visited for the first time during weekend dinner time and the food was amazing. They offer good quality and fresh meat, seafood, sushi, and even vegetables. The Creme Brulee was so good but had to resist eating another one since I was so full! I will definitely be back! The food is fresh and they have tons of variety, (not your typical buffet). They have Asian food, seafood, and my favorite part are the crab legs. They are huge and well seasoned and they never stop bringing them out, as soon as they see they are gone they keep bringing more. They have oysters, which I love. Found this place through Yelp because my husband and I were in the area to have our car serviced. We were starving by the end of the service, so we decided on buffet. Very glad we did! The atmosphere is clean and calming. It doesn't feel like they were trying to stuff a bunch of tables in the area. The bathrooms were clean and did not smell. There was pleanty of parking in the parking lot. There is a decent amount of food for the lunch buffet. All of the food we tried was fresh tasting and warm. Some dishes went fast, but were refilled within the hour we spent eating. There wasn't anything I wanted that was empty and not refilled by the time I went for another plate. The sushi section is kind of small, so don't come here looking to satisfy a big time sushi crave. The cold bar area was impressive, with clams and shrimp as well as mozzarella with tomato. The dessert area was average with cookies, cakes, and soft ice cream. The chocolate cake was a little dry, but the cheesecake was quite good, unlike in other Asian style buffets. The cream brulee was ok, but I'm not a fan of it to begin with. Overall, I'm very glad we came here. Service was normal with our plates taken away and our drinks refilled on time. Went to Dynasty after couple of friends recommended. Very clean, food was fresh, good buffet food. But just like any Chinese buffets, they have the usuals. The grilling station was more exciting. Grilled portabella mushrooms and the short ribs were very nicely done. I had the steamed halibut, which was very fresh and again, nicely done. The oysters and clams on half shells were very meaty. Sushi was on the boring side alittle, nothing to write about. The desserts were also very "typical", except for the creme brûlée. THAT was great. I think the biggest disappointment for me, was how small the crab legs were. I didnt bother trying them. I don't think they serve alcohol, but I did over hear the hostess telling another customer that they can bring their own wine. Would I recommend this place to a friend? Absolutely!! Generally food in buffets tends to compromise on quality..but dynasty buffet for a change has very good food along with variety..their dessert spread is good as well..a little expensive for a chinese buffet (weekend buffet costed $22 per head) but the food is worth the money for sure.
