Came here for dinner for the first time and I was pretty surprised. The place itself isn't that big, it's a decent size. Lots of different food was out. Crab legs, oysters, Chinese, American, Italian, Japanese (sushi), Korean bbq (ribs/LA galbi), etc... Everything was very good. Food seemed to be very fresh.. especially the oysters, which they were cracking open on the spot. For a group of 4 with drinks for each person, the bill came out to slightly over $84. Generally food in buffets tends to compromise on quality..but dynasty buffet for a change has very good food along with variety..their dessert spread is good as well..a little expensive for a chinese buffet (weekend buffet costed $22 per head) but the food is worth the money for sure. When my friend and I were welcomed into the restaurant, we were surprised and quite confused that we had to pay before entering. We didn't know how much to tip. However, after paying, we soon found ourselves talking about the modern decor and fun atmosphere. The food selection was smaller than we expected but it offered a wide variety of food, from americanized Chinese food to mozzarella sticks and sushi. While there wasn't as much sushi as we would have liked, almost everything tasted good. We did not like the tripe, but were able to appreciate the presence of food you wouldn't typically find in a buffet. I recommend the sesame balls and my friend liked the crab legs. The music was rather strange but tolerable, it was mostly covers of pop music. There weren't too many desserts but I liked the cheesecake and the soft serve machine wasn't bad. Parking was limited but we parked in the parking lot of the bank nextdoor, which could have been a problem if the bank was open, but it wasn't. The waiters were polite and didn't hover. I just wish the lady helping us pay had told me soda was a $2 extra charge. Kind of pricey at $26.99 before tax and tip not including the aforementioned soda, but we enjoyed our meal. BEWARE this place is extremely expensive as a buffet, dinner on a Saturday will cost you 25$+ for adults. Went Wednesday night for dinner. 23 cents shy of 50.00 for dinner for two. Go to get crab legs none to be found!! They now have chicken wings on half the crab leg tray and put signs everywhere about crab shortage!! Sign said crab legs come out every 25 minutes. I literally started my yelp account because this place was so bad. Went on a Saturday at 1:00. All food seemed old. Everything was flavorless and sauces were thin. Sesame chicken were soggy. Calamari was like rubber. They had Chinese eggplant, which I love, but it was in a thin tasteless sauce. Could not find a single item that I would say was good. Annoying rap music playing. As much as I want to hate on buffets, there are a few in the world that I genuinely enjoy going to. There are a couple in Vegas, one in Seoul, and surprisingly, one in Saddle Brook, NJ. Keep in mind, Dynasty isn't a tremendous establishment loaded with lobster specials and sashimi. It's just a damn good Chinese buffet. $17.99 weeknight, $20 weekend, $12 lunches. The place may be a little hard to find if you arent completely familiar with the place, but if you decide you want crab legs and duck, GPS this yelp page! This is my attempt to eat relatively healthy at such a place...there are three things worth going for: oysters, crab legs, and duck. Follow this routine, and you will surely get your money's worth and leave satisfied without the immediate glut-guilt! Head directly for the raw bar, located in the back left corner. The oysters are surprisingly decent and fresh, and the friendly faces behind the scenes shuck them like pros. Make sure you tip the guy a couple bucks, and ask him to make a plate of oysters for you. As long as there aren't thirty people behind you, he will gladly oblige! (Make sure you ask for the smaller ones only!) Leave him to his task and mosey your way down to the carving station and see my man with the roasted duck and a giant cleaver. Have him hack a nice cut of dark meat, sprinkle some cucumbers on, and top with a dollop of hoisin. Grab a Korean short rib slice or two, and turn around to face the hot food section. Check to see if there are crab legs out. If there are, don't bother with any of the usual Chinese fare! Immediately grab a second plate, load it up with crab legs and head for your table. Set them down, and head back to the oyster bar. By this time, you should have a plate of 12-15 East Coast oysters at the ready! I always make sure to tip the guys an extra couple, and they ALWAYS remember you if you come back :D. Dab a little cocktail sauce (I wish they had a mignonette, it would perfect the experience), grab some lemons, a couple crackers (for the crab legs) and finally take your seat. You now have the trifecta of buffet dining in front of you, ready for hands-on feasting. Feel free to repeat the crab legs and oysters at this point, stopping to check out the rest of the available entrees. Some of my personal faves: Baked salmon fillets, sauteed green beans, baked scallops, mozzarella sticks, prime rib, spare ribs, hot and sour soup. Try to save these for round two and eat sparingly! Oh, and don't waste your time on the sushi...its the one god-awful item in the place. Desserts are not bad either, ice cream w/ toppings, creme brulee, and the healthier option of fresh fruit...now stop licking your lips and go glut it up. read more

Have to say I am very upset with tonight's dinner! We go here every year for our sons birthday and its his favorite place to go because of the variety. Well all I have to say is WOW it was terrible!!!!!! Dried out old food and no one willing to work. The oyster guy shucked oysters only after my husband complained. And the cheese cake was old and was dry and turning a yellow color. Even after complaining about it on our way out all we got was oh I'm sorry. They should have gave us back our money. I wanted to believe this place wasnt nasty but id rather die than return... youd have to be complete trash with no class, no dignity, no self respect and/or have no knowledge about food to like this place. not only is it nasty but its rude and a rip off.. i ended up giving this place a shot because its a little cheaper than the other buffet i go to and because of the reviews saying they keep the crab legs coming and really thats all i go to buffets for.. lets be honest because almost all of the food at chinese buffets is almost always inedible.. no offense.. its quite inedible here weather it be because it is literally nasty or because its toxic with chemicals.. the crab leg serving dish was not the size depicted in the photos here on yelp but it was a small serving dish the same as all the others at the buffet and they have to keep refilling it because one person will take pretty much the whole dish.. so with that being said there will be a whole crowd of people just waiting next to this small empty dish of crab legs waiting in a imaginary line that some respect and others dont... there will even be people waiting at the other side to use tongs from another dish to grab the crab legs as soon as they come out its like a fight with tongs to grab a crab leg and if u dont get any u have to wait again.. and again.. with people all huddled around an empty dish for another who knows how long.. they must do this because theyre trying to save money.. when i first got there and saw the crab leg dish completely empty my jaw dropped and a lady saw and she helped me get a dish full but if i was being considerate of others i probably shouldve only grabbed yaknow a leg or two.. it makes u feel like youre being greedy or rude just because theyre being stingy with their crab legs... i shouldnt have to fight for food at a buffet that ive paid for.. thats not a buffet if the dish is empty most of the time.. just go to the port of call if u want crab legs they have a much bigger serving of them at one time probably 10 times the amount dynasty will put out and ive never seen it completely empty when i go there and u just have to ask them to heat them up because its a bigger serving of them so they never run completely out and they are served on ice.. they are a little more expensive and make u pay for your drinks but its worth it with these comparisons.. that is what i told the guy waiting in line next to me at the crab legs today at dynasty.. he mustve been waiting there for 20 minutes and he took pretty much the whole dish.. but was polite enough to give me the tongs before the other people there so i got a few that were left..  anyways the duck was so NASTY that i had one little bite and was literally about to puke my husband could not even eat the duck    leg after one bite and then that was the only time the waitress came by our table to talk to us because she mustve known so my husband told her please take this away.. i had to ask my husband if he got sick when he got back from the gents room.. luckily not. the literal only thing that i liked besides the crab legs was the fried chicken and the ice cream.. so ill give one star for the fried chicken. the ribs werent terrible but i wouldnt eat more than a bite... i only hardly liked one sushi roll that they had and i didnt even eat two of those.. even the white rice was inedible.. it just tasted wierd... i didnt even want to eat their sugar donuts cause they didnt look good... plus they were stale. didnt even want any of the dessert it just looked like toxic sugar waste crap.. but im not really a sweets person.. im also not a crap food person.. my toddler didnt like any of the food and its because its toxic.. im talking canned fruit theyre serving which was the only thing she liked besides the corn but she only nibbled one little kernal off the corn. She would cry becausr she didnt wanna eat.. we liked the fruit punch and the included drinks. I tried to go back for a second plate of crab but id have to wait again.. and i dont have the time. i mean you HAVE to WAIT if u want crab legs.. and theres already someone or a few people in line ahead of u most of the time! thats just a neissance..there is NOTHING here thats worth even close to the price. makes u pay first for a reason.. then the lady yells at u the tips not included when leaving... sorry but i feel sick just thinking about it eugh read more

It was perfect in everything. My date thought so as well. Food quality was excellent, especially the raw oysters and clams. Sushi was good too. The variety of food available was awesome, including country and short ribs, steak, various fish and chicken preparations, tripe (ewe), snow crab legs, vegetables, soups, salads and more - plus soft-serve ice cream. $21/person is more than fair. The place is clean well lit and pleasantly decorated. The staff taking care of drinks, plates and napkins were ever present and kind. I highly recommend the Dynasty Buffet. We had an awful experience here! We were eating on a Saturday and were already billed the lunch prices. Then, we were told we had to pay regular dinner price because we ate crab when they put it out. Just for one plate of crab either they take the plate away or pay. Terrible service. We were told there were dinner signs out, but we didn't see them! They were very rude on top of all the hassling!! Variety is a plus, but definitely lacks quality. It was better a few years ago, but it has gone downhill for sure. Won't be returning, unless they drastically change their food quality. Kids 10 years old should not be charged full adult price. I'm sure there better places than here. read more

I read one review that says, "you know it's a good Chinese Buffet, if you see lots of Asians eating there" or something to that effect. As an Asian, I can say that this is one of the best in Bergen County (considering the price). $8-10 for Lunch and $17-20 for dinner. Most Chinese restaurants in NJ don't have Chinese Brocolli (Gai Lan, Choy Sum), but not only does Dynasty have it, it's very good! If you're looking for good sushi, this might not be the place for you, but the grilled meat section especially the Galbi makes this place a winner! read more

I used to come to this buffet all the time all the way from morris plains which is roughly 40 minutes away. We called and asked if they had crab legs to just confirm because we've previously drove all that way and they didn't have any. They said yes and we went& when we got there they had signs saying sorry for the inconvenience there was only limited about of crab legs which was the only reason we went, so obviously I was disappointed. We stayed and waiting for them to be taken out and it was a mess, people attacked the line and they did not bring out enough at all. Only 2-3 people would be able to get a plate each time. I payed 22$ for crab legs and they didn't have enough for anyone. People kept asking and they would ignore them. It was terrible, and the costumer service was even worse. I finally got some food and ate and no one came to my table to fill my water or take plates or anything so after I finished I was so mad I was ready to leave. I went to the bathroom and came back and my table was cleaned and I started walking out and a woman there stopped me and started yelling at me for a tip. Two employees bombarded me and kept yelling at me why I didn't tip. I usually always do but I was so pissed off that I drove there for nothing and that I was there for an hour and not once did someone come to my table. They wouldn't let me leave until I added a tip on my credit card since I only had large bills they didn't want to break. Regardless I AM NEVER COMING VACK HERE. This buffet is the best!!! Everything was really good and who can argue with unlimited? The food was nice and fresh and my favorite part was the grill . The beef was freshly made and their ribs are to die for! The steak was not up to par though. Thats one thing i disnt like. The sushi is also extremely good! Its not like the average sushi you find at a random buffet that has too much rice. This sushi is freshly made and it taste really good! Their spicy tuna was on point! This is one nice looking buffet. I came here a couple of times with my brother and grandma. It stands out among acye buffets. The food is always fresh and the soups are piping hot. The hibachi is simply amazing and they have a very wide arrangement. This is a good place to bring the whole family and just pig out.
