I called my home warranty and they assign E&A Mechanical to come and fix my AC in my house They called me few days ago and scheduled appointment for today between 1:00pm and 4:00pm. I had take few hours off my work schedule and make sure that I'll be there when technicians comes to my house. Around 3:00pm I called E&A to check if technician is on his way and was told he will be running late and will be coming around 5:00pm. I wasn't happy but told them that this delay is huge inconvenience for me because I'm on my work schedule and cannot wait until 5:00pm. What upset me more is if I did not call no one bothered call me earlier and let me know. I understand things can go wrong and delays happens. Then I ask the person on the phone if I can push it to 6:00 pm this way I can go back to work and come back. Of course did she cared or anyone from the E&A cared for the huge inconvenience caused to customer.... of course not. Even when I'm going out of my way to make it easy for them to... I'll definitely not recommend any one this company. They don't even deserve one star. Very disappointing read more

E and A solved our air conditioning issue right away after another company couldn't after five visits. We have a First American Home Owners Policy. The best thing we did was have another company come service our air conditioner after the first company couldn't find the problem. The E and A technician saw the problem right away and fixed it. I was assigned this company by my Home Warranty and they are horrible. The technician came out and blamed the fact that my A/C is blowing very little cold air on my filter. He also placed a large amount of dust on my coils to tell me they are 60% clogged. I had a team clean the coils 8 months prior and they were spotless. So he fraudulently put dust on the coils in an attempt to get me to spend additional money on a coil cleaning that wasn't necessary. He told me his company would contact me to see if my warranty covers the cleaning. I never heard from anyone. Wast of money. NEVER USE THEM! THEY ARE FRAUDS! I am going to file a complaint with the state of CA and Better Business Bureau. MY AC still is barley blowing cold air. read more

This company is really a cut above. I had other A?C companies come in to diagnose the problem and all they wanted to do was to install BRAND NEW units without even checking the fuse in one of them. E&A came in, diagnose the problem which was nothing more than a faulty Thermostat, who would thing of that ever happening, well E& A did, they repaired, installed a new one and for less then $100.00 I am good to go for many years. E & A Mechanical came out as a second opinion from our home warranty company. We had been without air conditioning for two weeks, during a heat wave (with a toddler I might add.) First company forgot to put cover on compressor and attached wires wrong inside the unit, then quoted us half the price of a brand new unit to basically clean some parts and reinstall them. After calling the warranty company to complain, they offered a second opinion. Karen from E & A Mechanical came out and after 30 minutes, the AC was up and running again. These guys never ever call back even when they say they are going to and all they ever want from you is more money for crappy service. Completely unreliable. I got their contact through my insurance company American Home Shield and they have horrible service. It took them 3 weeks to tell me that I need freon for my heater. I did not even know heater requires freon. They did not even bother to check to see if my heater was leaking or not. Complete waste of time and money. So we called the home warranty again and asked for another company. We got E & A Mechanical Inc. What a difference! They answered our call right away, set up an appointment, and Greg came out, and he was so nice and was able to find the problem. This Company by far is the best! E&A was sent out to handle our home warranty claim today, making them the third HVAC company over the past 10 months to provide warranty support on our AC unit (it has repeatedly stopped cooling effectively; the first company decided we needed a new condenser; the second company decided the first company didn't pump enough coolant into that new system...but still, the system kept dying over time). Karen from E&A was friendly, efficient, and very helpful today -- he found a leaking valve core on the condenser that the previous HVAC company tech seems to have missed. He also replaced the HVAC filter, confirming my suspicion that it is NOT "user-accessible" (you have to unscrew panels from the furnace unit to replace it, a baffling circumstance that makes me want to have not-so-polite words with the previous homeowner's HVAC contractor). I'm very grateful that Karen spotted that leaking core, otherwise I might be tearing up our home's walls trying to locate a leaking internal coolant line! Here's hoping that the third time's the charm...but if our casa becomes a sweat lodge again, I'd be happy to invite E&A back for further support! read more

First American sent out this contractor to our home. He came and looked at the space... said in broken English he couldn't fit through it and left. We were charged $65 for literally nothing. First American said they tried to contact E&A so they could send someone smaller perhaps and we never received any word. So now our insurance wouldn't cover our problem. We searched Yelp for a more reputable HVAC contractor and found one. He came by and fixed our problem, mind you he was physically larger than the original contractor and somehow fit in the space just fine. Of course we had to cover the cost out of our own pocket. I have never previously written a review for yelp. This firm came to my house via American Home Shield to repair an air conditioning unit that was not working. They concluded that it was due to no freon in the unit, and they concluded that there were no leaks. No freon, no leaks? That did not make sense. I asked if I had them fill the unit (cost of $500), would it stay in? They would not guarantee! I said no, but had to pay the $100 service fee with AHS. I subsequently had another firm do the work and they found leaks, E&A was just too lazy or not competent to figure it out. These guys are awful! read more

E&A were assigned to us by our home warranty company First American Home Buyers (which also has horrible Yelp reviews) to fix our heater. Technician, ANDREY KOVALEV, came on 12/13/16 and took apart our heater, removing the damaged part and leaving us without heat until the claim was approved and part was ordered. I followed up 2 days later, as I hadn't heard anything from E&A... and was told the report needed special attention from a supervisor and that's why I wasn't contacted yet. I requested to speak with the supervisor, and she told me she didn't have the report - the Tech failed to submit it. 2 days no heat, but at least the ball is finally rolling. I get a follow up call that the part won't be ready until 12/27. 14 days without heat - over Christmas holiday with house guests staying with us. Tech comes on 12/27 to install the new part ... NO CAN DO... He ordered the wrong part... he can't fix and we will have to wait for re-order part. He tried to leave again without taking the old part with him- to ensure the second time around he would order the correct model... I had to INSIST that he take the part. 12/30 Tech was supposed to arrive between 12-4 with new part. 3pm office calls to notify me that the part arrived and it is wrong again... 17 days and counting without heat. I was notified that the part will arrive approx. around 1/4/16... 22 days without heat and I am NOT FEELING CONFIDENT that this will be the end of it. UPDATE: 1-3-17 E&A will no longer be sending a technician due to they can not get part. Home warranty will send out part supplier technician... AFTER we provide proof that MOLD the E&A technician stated is removed. Mold in the attic? This is the first I have heard of this problem and from what we can tell there is none.... I called First American Insurance when my AC wasn't working in my new home. They sent out E & A Mechanical. Got the appointment set up within minutes and they came by 2 days later. The technician showed up at 8am on the dot. He was very fast to diagnose the issues (which ended up being fairly minor/routine) Since I wanted to learn about what he was doing so that I could troubleshoot in the future, I asked to watch him and have him explain what he was doing. My husband and I are very happy with the service rendered to us today, July 1st 2017. I have a leak in the attic coming from the air conditioning system. Our ceiling showed the signs of heavy leaking. I called American home shield the night before , Friday, and they gave me E&A service. Saturday morning, Maria from E&A called for future appointment but I told her it's really an emergency! Maria went her way to find someone to come right away and check the leak. I used E&A Mechanical to repair my ac through First American Home Warranty. I was using a very reputable ac company on contract. They came out one month ago and said everything was fine, but it was not cooling. I was just eating up expensive power. Gary came out and showed me the line to the ac unit was not cold. He replaced the capacitor and put in some Freon. I'm in heaven! I have thermostat at 76 and it is cool upstairs and downstairs!!! Before I had it at 68 and sweating. My home warranty sent this company out. The contractor they sent could hardly speak english other than tell us there's asbestos and he can't touch it. But he definitely wanted to make sure he got his $65 for doing nothing. I double checked with our home inspector and confirmed there is no asbestos insulation in the attic. It's blown cellulose insulation. (Come to find out the ducting in the attic is wrapped in asbestos, this was not communicated) read more

Absolutely HORRIBLE service. Got them through First American home warranty...I'll be changing that too. I submitted the service request and had to call them 3 days later to set up an appt. Their latest was a 12-3 window which I asked for a heads up call since I had to leave work to meet them there. They were 2 HOURS late after that...I was pissed since I wasted my time and money since I had to leave work early. Once he showed up, he said he didn't like the temperature of the air...then breaks out his thermostat and says it's fine. I make him check the ducts and he also claims it's fine, they just run in different directions. The tech was extremely rude and very condescending. The whole time he seemed like he was rushing to get out of there. There was a noticeable difference in the air from the living room to the bedroom and he claimed it was the same. Wish I read all these reviews first! WOW. Dimitri came out to my house, referred by First American Home Warranty. He was there for ten minutes. He came down from the attic and said that I needed a new board motor and it would be covered by the warranty company but I had to use him to clean my coils and it would cost $400. He showed me a picture of "my dirty coils" and said no sense putting in new motor unless the coils are cleaned...made sense. My contractor went into the attic, saw the motor wires were snipped and the motor was on the side of the AC unit...then took a picture of the coils that were not dirty. This quack Dimitri showed me a picture of someone else's coils. I'm pissed. I have people working in my house in 100 degree weather with no AC. First American is getting ripped off by E & A. Technician showed up toward the end of appointment time, looked at the ladder on the side of the building and said he couldn't help us he would send another technician MAYBE within a few days! Apparently, he has a problem climbing ladders!! When I made the appointment I clearly told the receptionist the unit was on the roof with a ladder on the side of the building. E&A were assigned to us by our home warranty company to fix our AC which was functional but was suddenly struggling to cool the house below 80 degrees. The technician was scheduled to arrive between 2-5pm. He called at 3:30 to say he would be there in 30 minutes. An hour went by so I called him back to see where he was. He told me then that he decided to stop and get some food but he would be there soon. He showed up at 5. The window was between 2-5 so it's not egregious or anything but there's still no reason to waste anyones time with false estimates of your arrival. When he finally arrived I showed him to the AC unit and left him there to examine it. He came back 5 minutes later and said that the only thing he could do was add freon and added "it wont make a difference but I can do it". I asked him what was wrong with the unit. He said "nothing". I asked how that could be possible when only yesterday it was cooling the house to whatever temperature we set on the thermostat and today it cant get the house below 80 degrees. He said he didn't know why and reiterated that his assessment was that there was nothing wrong. I asked if he was suggesting that we needed a new unit. He said no. He just repeated that there was nothing wrong even though it wasn't working properly. Even as I write this I'm baffled by the conversation. This persons profession is to analyze issues with AC units and make determinations about what's needed to fix them. That's literally his entire job. Ultimately he put in the freon (it made no difference just as he promised) and he told me that if I didn't like his assessment I should get another opinion from someone else. With that he left. I was able to get the home warranty company to assign a different AC repair company who came out and identified the issue which is now resolved. Hiring E&A was not my choice but if you're trying to find a good company to use than I'm hopeful that this review will spare you from wasting your time with an AC repair company that doesn't repair AC's. read more
