This company was dispatched from my home warranty company. The unit was leaking water in the garage so I wasn't sure why. E & M technician came to my home on time, nice and went right to work. He looked at the unit and determined what was wrong. He fixed the issue and also went over and beyond the initial issue. He looked at the system and gave me some things to think about. THE WORST COMPANY EVER! Came through American Home Shield to address AC issues 3 months ago. 1st time repair lasted 15 min. Different company came out and re-addressed the problem. 2nd call was yesterday (7/7/2015).... while trying to figure out why they NEVER submitted the report to insurance company, we find out that technician reported being threatened and refuses to come back out. If it wasn't for the discomfort of non-air conditioned house, this would be hilarious. Apparently he was threatened by a 4'8" young woman holding a new born baby. This "company" is a complete joke. I used my First American Home warranty and they sent out this HVAC company. The first time they came out, I was bothered that the mechanic was in such a rush to take care of the problem and leave. Hardly said a word. Didn't seem to care if the problem was fixed or not. The second time, he did a better job. He fixed the blower motor and clean it. (He charged extra for the cleaning). But I was okay with that. I am going to request another company the next time I use my home warranty. Just to see the difference in contractors. I am wondering if the screening process for the contractors that First American uses is as good as they say it is. read more

I have to update what happened, as it's been crazy. Basically, the guy who came out said that there was only three things that he could change, and he changed them all and I needed a new heater. He submitted it to the insurance, and they would not honor it. I am actually quite grateful. Though some fighting, I finally got them to sent out a different company. The new company came, diagnosed the problem, and said that he had seen this with many of my types of units before. Less than a week later he came out, and fixed the problem... finally. If it's a simple problem, perhaps E &A can fix it. Otherwise, avoid this company. If you have the Home Warranty company, if after they send out the 'senior technician" it still doesn't work, fight to get them to send someone else. This company is horrible. I would stay away from this company if I were you. They installed a new air conditioning system that does not work at all; they left a mess and because they did not put anything down on the floor, the floor is stained. When I call and ask to speak to a supervisor, I am put on hold for a long time. When the supervisor comes on the line, she acts as if I am bothering her. The techs they send out even put an exhaust pipe that precluded me from opening the door that goes between my garage and my house! I had to get them to adjust this important pipe so that I could open the door! What else....I could go on and on but the point is this - do not hire them to put a small fan in your house. read more

These guys are the best! They were sent to my home by American Home Shield after another company sabotaged my HVAC and told me I needed a new compressor. A&E Mechanical Tech Garny, was on time, courteous, respectful, informative, and knowledgeable. He tested my system and knew right away it needed coolant and a sealant. This company gave me the WORST SERVICE I have EVER had with a contractor. First of all you have to wait 30 minutes to have someone take your call. (AND THIS KEPT HAPPENING OVER AND OVER IN THE NEXT 10 CALLS I MADE TO THAT PLACE) Totally bad customer service. They give you an emergency phone number and no one ever calls you back. While on ENDLESS hold their message says they give round the clock service which is a joke. They say their office hours are until 5 but stop taking calls a 4. We had 110 degree heat here and I had them come out the first time. 4 Times later, my air conditioner is still not running right and there is now cold air flowing under the house instead of in it. When I tried to explain this to the contractor the FOURTH they time out, he looked at me like I had 3 heads. THE WORST SERVICE EVER...DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I am still sitting here 4 days later, still in 100 degree heat and 4 visits later and the unit is not fixed or running properly. Not even gonna mention that now there are now wires hanging out of the top of my unit outside which were not there before they came. WTF? We were also assigned this company by our Home Warranty Program. They were TERRIBLE from the start. Poor communication, zero follow up, rude, the WORST. We have been waiting for our A/C unit to be fixed for 14 days and they just told us it would be another 5 days minimum because one of their technicians wouldn't drive 20 min to pick up the new part. We offered to go pick up the part ourselves, but they just kept giving us the round-a-round. Every time they say they'll call to give us an update we never hear back from them. We were recommended to use this company from our home warranty services that we were given when we bought our home. When the technician came out he went through all the "normal issues" in the attic and told me that he fixed a wire up there. He then told me that our brand new Ecobee was malfunctioned and that was causing the issue of our heating system not too work. He asked if I wanted a new thermostat, free of charge, and I said sure. I could return the Ecobee back to Amazon and get a new one. Only to find out that me accepting the "gift" of a new thermostat meant that in 34 days (because the warranty of our insurance only lasts 30 days from the date of service) when I called to make an appointment to A and E because of the heat not working, I was told that their report said it was the thermostat. I would have to file a new claim and pay the deductible of a new service request. The manager told me there was nothing she could do even though it was her technician that came in and supposedly fixed the problem. This company is horrible and terrible at fixing the real issues. I was put with e and a mechanical through my home warranty. They couldn't look at my ac for a week after I called to report it went out l. Once they came out it took another week for anyone to get back to me with a report. Then they said another 3-5 days to have someone contact me to do the service. No one contacted me. I called after 5 days and they told me that they forgot to send me the info to sign for the parts. I never got an email until I called back a day later. It was over 100 degrees everyday, we have a baby and no ac for 3 weeks. I cancelled and cashed out with my warranty and had another company come fix it within 24 hours. My home warranty service contacted E&A Mechanical to service my A/C unit. They called me within 1 hour of me reporting the problem to my home warranty service. My service was scheduled for the next day. The technician showed up on time and quickly diagnosed the problem. It did take a week for the part to come in. but on the 2nd visit the unit was fixed quickly, It worked great. The technician also recommended some maintenance service to help keep my unit working efficiently. About one month later, the A/C stopped working again. I called my home warranty service and E&A called me right away to schedule. The technician came out the next day. It was a different part that needed to be replaced, but this time he had it on his truck. He also performed the maintenance he recommended last time. We dealt with them through our Home Warranty company for 3 summer weekends. The first man said it was simply a circuit breaker. He lied. He was clearly in a hurry and couldn't wait to get to his next job, or wherever. 4 days later the company was back because the unit stopped cooling AGAIN. 2nd guy said there was nothing he could do. It was the weekend. 103 degrees. He told us the whole system had to be replaced. He came back the following Monday and said a coil needed replacing. So, this was the 3rd visit in 2 weeks. When I objected, reminding him that he said the whole unit had to be replaced, that he was unable to fix it the last visit, he got on the phone with his boss for a long time, came back with the same info. 3 days later, no cooling. So we called someone on our own dime and they immediately made the system work. E and A was horrifying. They left us in sweltering heat. Their technicians either don't know what they're doing, or are simply following some procedure that has nothing to do with making the customer happy or comfortable. The tech flat out told us there was NOTHING HE COULD DO. And then his next visit, he miraculously made the unit cool? It's been a nightmare with them and the home insurance company (American First). We needed help and relief and were given NONE. Use them at your own risk. If your home warranty company uses them, probably best to object and say no. Unbelievable. read more
