The food was decent overall, but the service was what knocked it from a 4 star to a 3 star. Service: The restaurant was slammed that day, and for a table of 7, we had to wait 1.5 hours for a table large enough to seat us. They don't take reservations so if you have a large party, plan accordingly and do not come hungry! Our waitress wasn't around much after we placed our order. Overall, the service was mediocre. Food: The complimentary chips and salsa were so delicious. The chips were always warm and the salsa man kept the table happy with nonstop refills! I ordered the shrimp tacos, and they were okay! The shrimps themselves didn't really get seasoned. I didn't like the sauce it came with, so overall my tacos were bland lol. Everyone else seemed to have loved their choices though! Our server almost pushed this to Good instead of OK. Her attitude, promptness, attentiveness made the experience much better. The word Bar in the name should have been a clue that I was, in fact going to a bar to eat. When you enter, the bar is front & center. The concrete floors and no-frills walls remind you to keep it casual. The food was served promptly and our orders were correct. I didn't find anything special about the meal, nothing memorable. Authentic good Mexican food. The salsa is the bomb! A little wait, but all good things come with time!!!!

After a recent visit to the Dallas Arboretum, we came here for an early dinner. We hadn't been here in about five years and were hoping it would be as good as before, and it was. We started with Margaritas and their chips and salsa, all very good. For entrees my wife had the carne asada, medium rare, with a salad instead of rice. I had the beef enchilada dinner. Everything arrived nice and hot, well seasoned and delicious. Ambiance is a sports bar type. Service was excellent. Recommend and will return. read more

Probably the worst Tex-Mex restaurant I've been to since living in Dallas. The food quality was poor, and both the presentation and taste were mediocre at best. On a positive note, the service was fine, and the food came out quickly despite how busy they were. Unfortunately, that's not enough to make up for the overall experience. Came to this place in my search for the best Tex-Mex in Dallas, and well, suffice to say my search continues. Ordered the Jorge's tacos, and they were rather dry and simple, and to be honest, too small in terms of portions. It wasn't worth the $15, especially compared to other options on the menu. Our waitress was somewhat dismissive/nonchalant towards us and didn't once check on us or refill our empty water cups. We had patio seating and it wasn't too cold, but it was rather dark. I went in for four tacos and an adult beverage - to go and was charged $51.00 before a tip. I asked the server who handed me my food, "did they take and give me another order.' He say no, so I tipped him an extra $2,00 and went on my way. The absolute best and juiciest carnitas in East Dallas. The food here is ALWAYS good. They just don't miss. We have eaten our way through the menu. Nothing here disappoints. Now add to that the courtesy of the servers and you will find yourself quite comfortable. The food comes out quickly. The portions are generous without being overboard. The bar serves KILLER margaritas as well as other cocktails. The ambiance is that of a mom n pop locals spot because that is exactly what it is. E Bar has been in my rotation since they first opened. They have expanded about three or four times, and sometimes it feels like they still need more room. People love this place, and with good reason. The patio is our favorite place to sit since it is covered and has A/C and heat, but the covers also open when the weather is nice. They have also added a tent in the parking lot with picnic tables for people to sit/social distance while they wait for a table inside. The food is still fresh and tasty. You can never go wrong with anything, but my favorites are the taco salad, cheese enchiladas or the nachos. My BF loves the Jorge tacos or the grilled chicken with extra veggies when he is eating healthy. Plus their warm chips and salsa are great. Hard to not fill up on them sometimes. Their curbside pick-up runs perfectly. You call in your order and then pay over the phone. They text you when your order is ready and you text them back the parking spot number you are in, and your food comes out. Sign your bill and you are on your way. We'd decided to visit this place after craving fajitas and drinks. When we got there, there was no wait which was great but had to dine in as the patio area was full. We were immediately greeted by our server whom we'd advised that we were first timers. The chip and salsa were great! The chips were light and flaky and were served warm! We ordered the Jorge Tacos with chicken fajita and a side of rice and a Chicken fajita plate. The chicken was seasoned well but my friend's veggies weren't seasoned and needed salt. My taco shells were fried which gave them crunch and I did enjoy that. Service was just ok. Again, it may have been the nature of the server but there was no personality. He didn't ask us if we wanted any more drinks and our waters were not refilled. I'd asked him for sour cream to go with my tacos and never received. Luckily, My friend had some with her fajita that she didn't want. It took him a while to check on us and by that time we'd eaten and was ready for the checks. To mitigate any further delays, we had our debit cards ready to pay when he returned to the table. I was happy to see the employees all masked up and their cleaning routine after guests left. Most guests were wearing masks upon entry and leaving. Read a lot of great reviews on this place and decided to try it out. I went on a Thursday afternoon around 4pm. (During happy hour) Nice crowd there but I didn't have to wait to be seated. Host was extremely nice. I sat on the covered patio area and really enjoyed it. Waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly. I ordered the veggie fajitas and a cup of queso. Came here on a weeknight with a group of coworkers and the place was busy. We had to wait about 10 minutes for a table, and we ended up on the patio (which was perfectly okay- it was a nice day! The drinks were good, well-poured but not overly strong. The food was also tasty, but we had a couple issues with our orders. Both myself and one of my colleagues ordered specific menu items (I ordered enchiladas, he ordered something else) but we were both served tacos.
