Casual place, but fun. They were able to quickly seat our large party. Our waitress was nice and prompt. Food was hot and tasty! The menu is varied. Plenty of TVs for viewing. Bar seating and 3 rooms for seating as well as a patio. Large party pickets can be split into 4 tickets .
Went out to lunch with my intern group for my Birthday! Parking was okay, we parked in a lot across the street but it was a bit crowded. I ordered the grilled shrimp tacos which were very tender and came with avocados and a corn salsa. There was also a lime avocado ranch sauce on the side to dip. Pretty large portion I ate one and was already full! It also comes with cilantro like rice which was really flavorful and a jalapeño bean soup which wasn't spicy at all. The service was very fast and our waiter gave us free sopapillas for my birthday! I prefer my sopapillas to be dipped in honey and more cinnamon, but can't complain because it's free! Overall a pretty good Tex mex place.
I desperately wanted to like this place because I've heard positive things about it. I've been here on three separate occasions, and the service each time has been increasingly worse. The first time I walked in with my friend, we asked if they were still serving food, and there was a long drawnout pause before they said that the kitchen was closed. I felt that this was odd she could just set the kitchen was closed and moved on, but however, we left went to get something to eat somewhere else. The second time we showed up, we ate at the bar and the bartender was OK. There was no warmth, but he wasn't blatantly rude. This last time I ordered online thinking that it would provide a better service and I was highly mistaken. When I showed up to pick up my order, I expected to pay extra for the bacon and I noted it in the online. They did not take Apple Pay and they could not charge my card that was already on file. He said that I would either have to go get a card or get cash so I left to go get cash. As I was driving to go get the cash he canceled the order. There was no warmth in him. He could not even charge me for something that was a similar price. He was rude and nasty, and I believe he assumed I was going to steal the food because he immediately grabbed it and ran to the back. I will not be going here again if I can help it because I don't think they actually like Black people black women or maybe it's just me I can't be sure. I am not able to tell which snake is poisonous. UPDATE: I never received my refund.
Very tasty Tex-Mex. The parking is very nice for this place too. Be careful about the weekend, it gets really busy and has very long wait. The ambience is very friendly and inviting. Lots of tv screens and lots of space.
Texas created Tex-Mex. So when you eat Tex-Mex in Texas, the bar isn't just high -- it's non-negotiable. E Bar Tex-Mex in Dallas is one of those places you constantly hear about. Packed, popular, and said to be a must-try among the locals. Naturally, expectations were set....high! Let's get straight to the food. The queso? Good. Smooth, well-executed, but not the kind that makes you pause mid-chip and rethink your life. I've had better, but if I'm being honest. The shrimp tacos were probably the highlight -- fresh, clean, cooked properly -- but again, nothing that demands a return visit. They do the job, they just don't say much. And that's really the issue here. At this price, and hype point, I want something to scream. A sauce, a spice, a signature move -- something that reminds you why Tex-Mex is its own genre. Instead, everything felt safe. Polished, sure. Memorable? Not quite. E Bar isn't bad by any stretch. But in a city -- and a state -- where Tex-Mex is seen in such high regard, "pretty good" just won't pull me in.
Pulled up to E Bar on a Thursday night around 8:30 PM and while they've got a small parking lot, they only had one spot left and I'd imagine it's pretty challenging to park on a weekend. I'm not a queso connoisseur by any means, but E Bar's is one that lives rent free in my brain. We also grabbed margs for the table and they are very strong. One was enough to get most of us sloshed and even the mango marg tasted like it was pure tequila. Chips were thin and lightly crunchy that just tells you they've gotta be pretty fresh. E Bar Queso (4/5): Just a really nice quality, smooth, salty yellow queso. The ground beef was nicely seasoned and the avocado added a lighter creaminess, but I think just the queso would have been a solid choice as well. Creamy Spinach Queso (4.25/5): I'm usually whatever about creamed spinach, so it really surprised me when I preferred this over the original! It almost felt like a spinach artichoke dip throughout decadent white cheese.
Super super super spot!!!!! 10/10 any day. Staff, food, drinks, atmosphere, vibes, price you name it all 10/10. Come here if you can! The steak street tacos were amazing and Jorge's tacos were phenomenal. I would bet everything on this menu is excellent.
We tried E-bar for the first time recently and thought it was a solid tex-mex option in Dallas. Of note, this was a takeout order. We got the chips and queso, beef fajitas, and a cheese enchilada. The queso was a white queso which was delicious and also came with a great red salsa. The fajitas were good, but I have had better beef fajitas and usually like having the bone marrow butter with it. The cheese enchilada was also very delicious and I would order that again. Overall, this was a solid spot and I would be excited to go eat there in person next time and try more items on the menu.
I met with the family here for a meal and it was great. There is a parking lot right across the street to park at for free. They had a table ready for the 5 of us and service was all smiles. It wasn't crowded for an early weekday dinner. Oh how I do love a good Tex-mex meal. I was torn between spinach and mushroom or cheese enchiladas but decided to go with the latter without regret. I had no complaints with the fresh salsa and chips while waiting for the food. The food was ready quickly. Refried beans were on point as well as the rice. The two enchiladas were filled with a nice thick savory cheese. I had one topped with queso and the other with chile con carne. The queso was delightful, but the carne sauce worked better to break up all the cheese. I tried the veggie nachos and they were good as well. The chips were placed individually on the plate and were thick enough to hold up to the weight of the toppings. I was happy to eat here and will return to have the spinach and mushroom enchiladas.
Food was good! I would recommend to anyone who's craving some good Tex- Mex food. (: definitely going to keep coming back!
Fast pace place. We were greeted very quickly, appetizer came out in timely manner between our entree and our food was great. If you're looking for a quick bite to eat with friends this is it. The Bar is fairly large and games are always on.
Came here on cinco de mayo for lunch. Our server was so inviting and sweet, she was also super attentive (wish I knew her name). I order the steak fajitas and elote Mexican corn. Baby, everything was a 10/10. I love that this place is such a hidden gem and ducked off. I love supporting small businesses and this place is amazing. I will be coming back, regularly. Oh yeah, the queso was amazing as well! It was even better as leftovers the next day! Highly recommend

This might be unpopular to say but E Bar has the best hot dog in Dallas. Yes, I said that. And I stand by it. Please don't be fooled by fancy hot dogs. Perfect seasoning and a hot buttered bun. Finish it with the most flavorful fries? Umm yes please. And because you can get a margarita with this hot dog it is unmatched. I've said it before and I'll say it again. It's better than Costco's hot dog and I'll go to Costco just for a dog. Get the hot dog. You won't regret it. read more

Order: - Brisket Taco (4/5) - Grilled Shrimp Tacos (4/5) - Chicken/Steak Fajitas (5/5) Pros: - Great tasting Tex-Mex - Large portions - Free chips and salsa for the table - Reasonably priced Cons: - Long wait. We had to wait about ~1 for dinner. Granted it was also St.Patricks Day and there was a March Madness Basketball game going on at the same time - Very crowded and loud restaurant. Not the spot if you want to have an intimate date, but great to watch a game or if you're trying to get drinks with friends/family Overall: Great tasting Tex-Mex. Divey Tex Mex Bar near Downtown Dallas. E Bar has some super good food and I didn't drink but I heard the Margaritas are amazing. You get chips and salsa to start. The salsa is really fresh and I love that they give everyone there own salsa bowl. I had the Jorge's Tacos. Half brisket, half fajita chicken. Packed with meat. The tortilla has a little crunch to it and it soaked the brisket juice. It's GOOD! The chicken was tender, great flavor. There's jalapeños in the tacos , but it's not spicy. I didn't mind if it was spicy or not. These tacos are a 10/10. read more

Good is always great. The E-Bar queso is to die for. So good & hits every time! Flautas are amazing, I somehow always forgot to ask for no lettuce or tomatoes. The flautas are buried under all of it, which I personally do not enjoy! My friend said her chicken enchiladas were super flavorful & were not overly covered in sauce on top! read more

Our waitress was very sweet and attentive, so shout out to her. We went on a Wednesday evening during a tornado watch the place was still pretty packed and we sat on the "quiet" side, but at a very small table. The ambiance is more like a Mexican dive bar. We did not order any alcohol. Food: queso (regular one), and chicken and shrimp fajitas. The queso was alright - it could've used some more poblanos but it was nice and thick. The fajitas were sizzling and fresh. A bit too salty for my preference but not bad. The portions were good. Neither of us finished our entree. read more

This place has got me out of a lot of hangry moments, and satisfied my belly. It's always a safe choice for us and we always leave full. It's in a weird part of town, but super easy to get to and plenty of parking around the restaurant. Decor-sports bar vibes with a lot of TV's behind the bar. Other then that, there's much to the place. Service-pretty good most times. Food-always consistent, if you get Jorge's Tacos. It's a four taco meal with a small salad. The carnitas are pretty amazing and always packed with meat and cheese. The E-Bar queso is a must order, and it's a fantastic. The queso is very tasty, the guac and sour cream add a blend that simply works together. Great consist place, and the prices are very reasonable. read more

On the way to the gym weekly, I pass by E Bar. I've always been curious about the place but never tried it until this past Sunday, so I decided it was finally time. Upon walking in, we were seated immediately and got chips and salsa as well as our water in literally one minute. Fastest I've had that happen in a while, and it wasn't even that slow! I tried their meltdown, and it was SO strong! One had me tipsy even with food in my stomach, and I'm not necessarily a lightweight. I can only imagine how I would have felt if I didn't eat anything. We ordered their queso which was pretty good but lacked flavor; it did get better after eating it like 6 times, but it was not an immediate love. The queso definitely looks better than it tastes, so keep that in mind. For my meal, I ordered cheese enchiladas with queso and subbed the Mexican rice for cilantro lime rice. The enchiladas themselves were cheesy and great, but the beans were the biggest surprise. They packed a lot of flavor, and I didn't want it to end! The cilantro lime rice was decent, but I was able to try the Mexican rice, and I preferred that one over the cilantro lime rice. To end off this meal, I ordered something I don't get often at a restaurant: dessert. The tres leches cake sounded like the best option, and it's been a while since I had it. It was delicious! The cake was not too milky, and the sauce on top of the cake and on the plate complimented the cake. Please keep in mind that they normally add strawberry puree on top (they did not have it when I ordered it). The service was immaculate, and it has to be some of the best I've ever received from any restaurant! Our waiter was so attentive, and I swear everything was brought out so fast I could barely take a breath before they came back to refill our water or chips! I won't forget this type of service when I go to other places. Will I return to E Bar? I'm sure I will. I would have given this place 3.5 stars, but I rounded up to 4. I do think you should check this place out if you want a laid-back atmosphere and just want some good food and drinks. You will have a great time here! read more

After the terrible treatment we experienced at Ebar, we ended up bar hopping to Herrera's on Harry Hines. I'm still in disbelief about the lady at the door ...her attitude and facial expression said it all. It truly felt like she had something against us as Black customers today. read more

I will NEVER go to E Bar again. The lady at the front door was extremely rude, and when we spoke with the manager, he looked at us like we were stupid. Whoever owns this place needs to seriously rethink keeping that woman at the door. read more
We came during their lunch hour on a weekday. I ordered the shrimp tacos, and while the food was fresh and portion size was huge, it didn't have a lot of flavor. There was plenty of seating and service was fast and friendly. read more

Been on our list to checkout for a while. Came around 5:30 on a Saturday and were seated right away! I got a frozen mango marg which was great! He got a spicy marg which wasn't as spicy as they normally are. The salsa and chips were great and refills were giving quickly. I really like when you get seperate salsa cups so that was a nice touch. For my meal I got the fajita steak tacos which were great the meat was incredibly tender and had soo much flavor. He got the Jorges taco combo with a brisket and ground beef taco also great. The salsa that came with this was a little lacking in flavor though. The inside had lots of tvs and an older feel to it. I found E Bar to be just ok, the highlight was the chips salsa and queso. Maddie the bar tender was very helpfully and made recommendations. I settled on Jorge's Tacos 2 beef fajita and 2 chicken fajita. The chicken lacked flavor and the beef were good but the sliced avocado provided was not ripe and hard. I added my queso, salsa and pico provided with dinner to kick up the flavor. Atmosphere was good and E Bar was busy, I expected better based upon the reviews. read more

E-Bar is a hidden gem. I've been about 4 times within the last month and service is always great, drinks always hit the spot and the atmosphere is a good crowd. Parking lot is normally packed when I'm there which is a sign of how great this place is. read more

Our server almost pushed this to Good instead of OK. Her attitude, promptness, attentiveness made the experience much better. The word Bar in the name should have been a clue that I was, in fact going to a bar to eat. When you enter, the bar is front & center. The concrete floors and no-frills walls remind you to keep it casual. The food was served promptly and our orders were correct. I didn't find anything special about the meal, nothing memorable. I had the cheese & chicken chili relleno, which is one of my favorites. The noise level was fine for Friday at lunch, sports was on the tvs, bartender was chatty. Not a bad atmosphere overall. EBar is our absolute favorite Dallas spot for Tex-mex and drinks. It's a charming a fun location near downtown with cozy seating and a great bar, the staff is always on point, and the food is consistently great. The tacos and enchiladas are spectacular but we almost always go back to the quesadillas and fajitas. The queso is a must each time we go. There are so many lame quesos out there... but EBar knows how to do it right. read more
