Top tier Mexican food. I cannot say that with more conviction. I chanced on E Hope International just browsing on DoorDash and it's been my go-to Mexican spot. Authentic taste, salsa is superb, meats are cooked excellently, I've never been to the physical site but once I visit I know the service wouldn't disappoint. This is a hidden gem to get Quesabirria tacos! I actually have not been in their physical location but have been ordering them via DoorDash. This is where I had Quesabirria tacos for the first time and it is just so savory and tasty! It's simply prepared but the flavors are so complex - shredded beef, melted mozz cheese with onions. I try to compare any other birria tacos I get now with this and nothing compares! The consome (beef stew) is a separate order and the 8 oz is just enough for the 3 tacos I got to dip in each bite. It's a bit oily but not overpowering. For my order earlier, the to-go container it came with was packed with 2 hot sauces and a slice of lemon. I would prefer lime but it still provided a much needed squeeze of acid. They tend to be available for lunch and also late at night! read more

I found this place on Doordash when I was looking for fruit salad and tostilocos, but I also ordered tacos, quesadilla and hot dog. The carne asada quesadilla here is so good! The meat was juicy and flavorful and the portion size is pretty good. I couldn't finish the quesadilla (since I also had a hot dog and taco) but it was extra tasty when I heated it up the next day. Now I know to reheat my quesadillas on a pan or oven to make it extra crispy. The hot dogs were standard, but the tacos were also pretty good. So this spot has been my go to for really late night meals for months now. At first I was actually ordering the quesadillas and empanadas but after a while i gravitated towards the tostilocos and large fruit box. And the short version is the quality has gone way down in my opinion.. Because I have gravitated towards the fruit and tostilocos my review is about those two items specifically. The other night when I ordered these two items they really just fell flat in my opinion. The tostilocos is supposed to have cueritos, cucumber, jicama, lime juice, hot sauce, chamoy, tajin Chile and Japanese peanuts. What I've been getting the past 3 times I've ordered this is everything minus the cucumber and Japanese peanuts. At first I thought 'they must be out of the peanuts and that's why they put regular peanuts' but as I've ordered the same item multiple times now over the course of a month It seems they've made the switch from the Japanese peanuts to regular while still advertising the Japanese. It's not a huge deal of course but I find that the Japanese peanuts add a really good contrasting crunch to everything else so it's disappointing to not get it time after time. Japanese peanuts also cost more than regular peanuts so if they're making the change then the cost should go down as well, but it's stayed the same. Specific to this last time for the tostilocos as shown in my pictures, it looks like they just dump the cueritos straight from the jar into the tray now. It's absolutely SLIMEY on the bottom, just a thick layer of slime under everything, it was completely off putting. At first I thought I was being over dramatic, but even my husband couldn't eat it after seeing all that clear goop at the bottom. The second item I've been buying for months now while watching the quality deteriorate is the fruit box. Normally the fruit is is fresh, perfect sized pieces and juicy. What I've been getting lately is....not. My absolute favorite part of this box is that even though it costs $14 you can add as many different fruits as you want and the cost doesn't fluctuate! This has been amazing because I load it up with all kinds of fruit and if they don't have something they just don't add it. The cost stays the same though, there's pros and cons but considering they've always had the fruit I want it's worked for me. My issue now stems from them including the mango when it's not even close to ripe. Idk if it's not in season or what but if that's the case- REMOVE IT. I posted a photo of my last order of the fruit box and you can clearly see on the left side is ALL UNRIPE MANGO. That's 1/3 of the box by itself!! So I'm getting charged $14 now for large chunks of fruit I can't eat instead of them just removing it like they used to and adding extra of the fruit that is ripe. I hope the quality of these two items goes back up because these are the two things that have me placing those late night orders often! read more

Wasn't expecting much ordering from DoorDash at 12:40am but damn, this Lengua Super burrito hit the spot! All the ingredients inside taste great and blend well. Size of the burrito is fair considering the price($10.99 + $2 extra meat). Not small but not the largest. The lengua was more chewy than I'm used to but not in a rubbery way. Texturally, it was kinda like eating rarer steak. Not what I'm used to but I digged it. Hope it was fully cooked haha I guess I'll find out. Ask for lime because it's not included. Asked for orange sauce and red sauce but they gave me what tastes like honey mustard while the red one was quite watery (not a purée like salsa) but delicious with a subtle flavor. Never tried a sauce like this before but I loved it. Would order again for late cravings! read more

Took a random chance on this place on DoorDash, didn't map it until afterwards and the building itself looks a little sketch but a good hole in the wall is usually where it's at. We ordered a super burrito and a regular burrito, both asada. Both were delicious, the asada was marinated in a salsa that was spicy but I was able to finish it. The beans in the burrito were SO GOOD! Definitely will try the birria tacos, beef empanadas and the carnitas tacos next time! Door dashing it kept the quality too since we live close-ish to them. Review for the quesabirria tacos (2 small and 1 regular size ) and regular fruit box with chamoy and Valentina through doordash. Really good! I have been on a quesabirria quest and so far have tried them at 5 places. This was second best, almost the best on the list. The fruit was definitely the best, you can never find that through delivery services too! Quesabirrria tacos- the small one its only a little smaller than the regular but it has two corn shells instead of one. I preferred the regular. The meat was really flavorful and tender, not dry, that stood out to me right away. Good ratio of cheese to meat and onions. Consume- I wish it came with the quesabirria tacos but that's ok, really good flavor, came piping hot and not too salty . yum I got the 8oz (which was plenty for my food) but will get larger next time so I can have some for breakfast the next day! Regular fruit box- with mango, jicama, pineapple, cantaloupe melon, watermelon, (had seeds) chamoy and Valentina, good amount of sauce (not too much or too little) . The fruit was SO SWEET , I was really impressed. Good amount too. Lots of salsas and limes were a plus too! I wish I had gotten a side of chips for the leftover salsa. Will definitely come back. This place is a while in the wall but the food is traditional and above and beyond delicious. I personally think this place has the best burritos in San Jose. The rice is moist and rich in flavor as well as the smashed beans. They really make the burrito come together. Then one day I decided to try E Hope after reading their long list of positive reviews and I have to say I was quite amazed. This is an unexpected place I tried first on door dash and now sometimes we go down in person to pick up food in person. My favorite is the beef empanada (didn't get a picture because I ate it so fast). It's crispy and filled with a lot of tender meat, ahh so good!! Also recommend carnitas and al pastor tacos, quesabirria, and super burrito (the carne asada is really good) and even the hot dog is amazing! I've never physically visited the store, but I've ordered from here on Doordash like 4-5 times now and would rate it a 4.5 stars! I'm really surprised by how little reviews they have on yelp! I guess they must be a small mom and pop shop. But everything I've gotten from here has been really solid :) My ultimate go-to is the carne asada tacos -- reasonably priced and tasty for SJ. 1/30/21 This was actually a #Doordash order, but according to their website they offer both pick-up and catering. I don't believe I saw anywhere saying so, but I only see #MexicanFood on their website and DoorDash menu. And not just your standard California-ish tacos and burritos, but some legit Mexican street food! 1. Arepa $5.50: We actually got this for our 1yr old boy. Think quesadilla but with a much thicker, much more flavorful cornmeal shell, with beans added. Really good, and yes, he loved it! Never had this before, so can't say how others compare, but if you're looking for a quesadilla, give this a try! 7/10 2. Quesataco Al Pastor $4.50: Yeah, this was awesome. The pork was super seasoned and ultra tasty. And of course, there's that house-made super flavorful cornmeal tortilla. One of the best tacos I've had. 10/10 3. Consome $4: We're new to this birria trend, so I guess we were supposed to dip into this? Otherwise it's a bit strong, kinda like prime rib au jus. My gf drank it straight though, but I think it did wonders to add some moisture to all the corn meal used for our dinner. I do recommend getting this to pair with your food, even though it's probably nothing fancy. Quite flavorful though. 7/10 4. Quesataco Carne Asada $4.50: I don't remember particulars, but it's like the Al Pastor version but with steak. I just remember it was good. 5. Empanada $5: So I haven't had many Mexican-style empanadas, but mostly Spanish ones. These are NOT like the Spanish ones. For one, the shell is completely different--they use corn meal heavily instead of flour, and the whole thing is fried savory. If I remember correctly, the stuffing was pulled pork or beef, heavily seasoned. The burrito with extra protein, is one of the best burritos ive had at any top tier taqueria! And the salsa is amazing! We essentially wanted to be spontaneous and order numerous things off the menu and every single item was tasty. Quesadillas and burrito were fire. This is a good place to order for the most part all dishes are great the tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and hotdogs are great I have not tried other things but there's a but the antojitos aren't good corn in a cup was a can corn the toppings were barley there I also tried regular fruit box ain't worth it the toppings too stingy too small amount no taste on those two antojitos they need to step it up other than that. the rest of the food so far great taste. Ordered an arepa with meat/beans and 3 quesabirria tacos via DoorDash. The arepa was large and tasted great, especially with the red and green sauce. The quesabirria tacos were equally delicious, with onions and cilantro inside. Very juicy. I will be ordering again from this place for sure, and will try the empanadas next time. read more

I ordered 4 tamales on doordash, 2 pork 1 chicken and 1 Jalapeño & cheese. These were the BEST tamales I've ever had from a restaurant even better then the tamales the ladies sell outside of Walmart. Super moist and full of flavor! My most favorite would be the chicken, jalapeño and cheese was really good I only wish they put a bigger piece of jalapeño since the one I got had a thin sliver but was still really good.
