I love this place and it's still one of my favorite seafood spots in San Jose. The customer service is amazing-- The atmosphere is great as always. The only downside this visit was the capuchana. I remember it being more flavorful and spicier before. This time it was a little bland--not bad, just not the best compared to what I've had here in the past. This has been my go-to taco spot for yearsss. I'm a die hard fan of this restaurant. They have some of the best tacos and shrimp ceviche. I always order the tostada mixta when I come here, but on a rare occasion, I'll also order a carne asada quesadilla. The tostada mixta is best described as a mixed seafood salad that comes with 2 tostadas and crackers. I add the tapatio and lemon that comes with it, mix it together, and enjoy! So satisfying as a little snack or a light, healthy option. I like breaking off pieces of my tostada to use it to scoop up the seafood salad, but eat it whatever way you like, I'm sure it'll still be delicious! I've tried the carne asada and the chicken tacos too, although they are pretty good, the Al Pastor is by far the best meat option for me. If you're into ceviche, you'll find that their ceviche is fresh, cold and delicious. We avoided this place at first because of the location. But we were missing out. If you want authentic Mexican food, don't sleep on La Costa! The workers speak both Spanish and English. So if you don't speak Spanish, don't worry. Tip: Please tip these guys for their service. This used to be my go to spot ALL the time. I recently went about two weeks ago and got my usual carne Asada burrito con todo. My favorite thing about this place is the red salsa. For some odd reason it tasted bitter and weird at the same time. Also it was so oily, oil was legit coming out of the foil and through the brown paper bag. you will not go wrong at La Costa. This coming from a picky person. There are many things to love about this restaurant. First the setting. it is an outdoor restaurant which i find completely adorable and creative. Although during the rainy it season might be difficult to find a dry spot, never the less it is still has a unique look. Second, waiting time. waiting time is a breeze. no matter how many people are in line they still manage to make your food correctly and fast. Lastly, the food. it is always properly made. I've never had to send back my food for wrong ingredients. asada is my meat of choice anywhere i go and I've always had to deal with chewy pieces that you have to spit out! yuck! but La Costa's asada is premium and never chewy. Sometimes you food does come out sorta soggy, still delicious though. La Costa is a delicious restaurant and i recommend anyone to try it. You will not be disappointed! read more
