    Sopes - Carne Asada
    Jonarose V.

Ordered DoorDash since I was so lazy to go out. However, I need to rave this place. It's so good. Like it's just that good. They currently have a promo w/ 3 taco plates and a soda for like $12 but without the soda it's $10. It's totally worth it. I'm a sucker for lengua tacos and this was pretty solid. If I think correctly, they are basically braised in like a tomato stew or something because I can taste the acidity. The sopes were great also. The smokiness of the carne asada just has an amazing flavor. Fries were cooked to almost perfect per my boyfriend's compliment. The super burrito was THICCC. Like she had hips and everything. lol. It had to weigh almost 3-5lbs. My boyfriend is shocked but happy with the product. He said that all the ingredients were certainly accounted for. He's saying this because other taco spots we've gone too, they're always forgetting the avocado, which we all know, is part of the price. Next time, we'll try going in to dine in.

I was really hoping to like this place, but unfortunately that's not what happen. I ordered on DoorDash and the food was still hot, but everything waa greasy. I ordered a tripa taco and it was oily and the tortilla was hard & chewy. I also ordered a regular asada burrito. It was mostly refried beans and rice. The little meat there was flavorless. Won't order from here again.

Their beef soup (caldo de res) is soooo comforting on a chilly night. Comes with tender beef on bones, and on the side -- three super warm comforting tortillas, Mexican rice, onions, cilantro and jalapenos. Highly recommend the beef soup (caldo de res) if you want something hot and comforting.

In this photo, that is all the meat that they put on there

Terrible food I got a torta and it was packed with a handful of lettuce like half an onion the tomato cut into fours a literal bite of meat . Fries were gross never going back again ended up getting sick half way threw and throwing up.

Fast service , fresh chips and salsa , asada burrito actually had flavors not just grease like every other taqueria in town Horchata can improve but I like that is not extremely sweet

I accidentally came across this place while looking for local Mexican food. I like that I can place my order online for an easy pickup. The food is solid. The salsa is spicy and pricing is affordable. My husband ordered the Al pastor burrito and he said it was slightly bland and missing pineapple. I ordered the carne asada burrito and enjoyed it very much. I did ask for them to grill the burrito and that added a nice crisp to the tortilla. I will be ordering from here again.

Super burrito was all rice no meat. More expensive on the app and an up-charge for asada is crazy. Tasted like a school lunch burrito

Muy buenas las micheladas, se preocupan mucho por el cliente, recomendado 100% Mi heladas are great, they really care about what the customer think! Recomend it 100%

Found this place on a whim and have been back 3 times since last Thursday. RUN. This is not an exaggeration. Lopez taqueria is THAT good. They have 4 locations for a reason. Not gonna lie, first time I've seen them around in my 28 years of life in SJ. I live nearby and kept passing by and was like oh! new spot. I finally stopped in and I am dissappointed that I hadn't gone here earlier! It is SOOOOOO good. They may not be busy (new place and not many people know about it. The location is not all that visible) There was nobody when I went, so the workers made everything fresh and it took a while, but it was appreciated. The asada tacos were the best. The handmade tortillas and the asada seasoning go hand in hand. I've been telling everyone about this spot and like I said, I've been back 3 times within ONE week. I am so happy to have discovered this place.

I would suggest that the serve mention that when taking orders so we know. Just because it's at the very bottom of the menu I didn't notice it until I asked for a dessert menu. The food was so good! We had Mexican jambalaya, Carne asada plate, tacos Dorado, enchiladas with both sauces, parillada, enfrioladas (bean enchiladas) tacos de pescado, Don julio flight, multiple drinks and churros. The churros were really good although we wish there was a non filled ones too and to have the optionof if we wanted it dressed up because churros are already super sweet with the cinnamonand sugar dusted but caramel and whip cream was added along with a strawberry filling. We also ordered a tres leches cake but we didn't like the tres leches cake, it was too sweet, so sweet that we couldn't taste the filling which we assume was pineapple lol the color was yellow with pieces of fruit but we couldn't taste it. Overall the service was great and quick. I would definitely come back here.

Plenty of parking available since the restaurant is in a strip mall. It wasn't too busy when we got there, but then it started picking up. There was only one server working and she was really hustling to meet everyone's needs. Plus, she was friendly. I had the carne asada burrito, it was good but nothing over the top that made it stand out. My friend had enchiladas with mole. We were most excited about dessert and decided to share the churros and Tres leches. It was a nice touch that the churros and Tres leches did not come plain, a little pizzazz since they were both served with berries, whipped cream, and a cajeta style sauce. Both of the desserts were so good and a perfect touch of sweetness.

Our server was Sebastian & he was super friendly, attentive & recommended us the goods. My favorite here was their enchiladas - red & stuffed with chicken tinga. We waited 1.5 hours to be seated while half the restaurant sat empty. After we were seated, it took about 30 minutes for anyone to ask if we wanted drinks, another 30 minutes before our order was taken, and then an hour for the food to arrive. Throughout the wait, several servers were gathered in the corner talking and laughing while tables--including ours--were left unattended. Unfortunately, the food didn't make up for the service. The meat was dry, lacked flavor, and the shrimp was so chewy that I couldn't finish it. It was honestly one of the worst shrimp dishes I've ever been served. I've seen countless influencers giving this place glowing reviews, and after eating here, I simply don't believe them. My experience was the complete opposite. If you appreciate good food and good service, I would strongly recommend spending your money somewhere else.

The staff were attentive, gave great menu recommendations, and constantly came by to refill our water. Very spacious dining room. We started with the Queso Fundido, served on a small hot plate with chilis, garlic, and oil on top. It's basically a block of cheese served with chips. Even with the hot plate, it didn't stay gooey for long, but it was a pretty good starter. The Coconut Campachano was creamy and refreshing. It also came with chips, though ours seemed like crumbs from the bottom of the barrel. We got the Trompo tacos and Sautéed Shrimp tacos. Both were tasty, and the tortillas seemed fresh. My wife is Latina, so we're pretty familiar with authentic Latin/Mexican flavors, and from the moment we walked in, we were a little unsure of what to expect. We completely understand we're in Willow Glen and that Copita is going for a more upscale take, but for us, authenticity and flavor still have to be at the heart of the experience. Our waitress was very friendly and polite, and this review is absolutely not a reflection of her service. However, when we asked about the style of the food, there seemed to be a little hesitation in explaining it, which made us even more uncertain about what we had gotten ourselves into. I don't like bashing restaurants or their food, so I'll simply say that, unfortunately, the highlight of our meal was the chips and salsa. The cocktails, on the other hand, were good and definitely not shy on the alcohol! Also, don't expect large portions. The restaurant is clearly aiming for a more upscale presentation and experience, so the plates reflect that. Overall, Copita just wasn't for us. This was our first visit and unfortunately will probably be our last. I genuinely wish them success, but I think a few changes, especially when it comes to the flavors and authenticity of the food could make a big difference.
