The quality here is decent but definitely not upscale. The fried shrimp appetizer was weird; it has green-colored corn-flake-like cereal on the outside of it -- wouldn't get it again. The BBQ wrap appetizer was flavorless, even with the added peanut sauce -- also not ordering again. The shaking beef was good but salty after adding the included sauce -- would order again without the dressing. My wife loved the egg rolls, as they reminded her of the gourmet Vietnamese restaurants in Dallas, but the shrimp spring rolls were unfortunately very flavorless. The grilled chicken vermicelli was not good; the chicken was slightly burnt, and the noodles didn't seem fully cooked. We may give this place another chance, but not sure. read more

Been here twice and great experiences both times. This last time I went I got the vermicelli rice with beef cooked with lemongrass which is what's pictured and is absolutely delicious. Their iced coffee is also scrumptious. read more

My review is only on the phone, egg rolls, and crushed shrimp wrap. Egg rolls are ok. Crushed shrimp rolls was decent wish they put more filling in them, it was mostly the wrap. The pho i have a real problem with. Ive had good pho places that made them authentic and tasted as good as from back from the mother land. But this place cheaped out on it taste like from where it came from. Ive only had this flavor from texas restaurants. This restaurant also cheaped out on flavor with substituting it with Chinese five spice. The right way to make pho is star anise, rock sugar, ginger, onion, coriander, cardamon) but they made a broth from beef bones and Chinese five spice, which adds 4 spices that don't go into pho and makes it totally FAKE..... then i would suggest to not visit this restaurant and drive 35 miles way and go get some REAL PHO... pho that will put this restaurant to shame!! read more

It's very hard to find good Asian restaurants up North around The Woodlands and Spring areas. After seeing reviews on FB and in Yelp, we gave it a try. This place is in The Sam Moon center. Friendly staffs and the food is spot on in term of taste. I love Asian food and have eaten out enough to know what good is. Even though they are short in kitchen staff tonight but the friendliness and smile of the owner(Josie) made up for it. She came by and talked to her customers by making sure they are satisfied. We orders chicken salad similar to summer delights, beef rattle aka shaken beef in other places, and combination fried rice. They were delis! This place blew my mind. I went after visiting someone at the hospital and I was exhausted. I wasn't expecting much just needed something quick and comforting. This is a new Vietnamese restaurant located in the San Moon Area off of 242. I normally hesitate to try new restaurants, especially Asian ones, here in The Woodlands area / Conroe area, since the majority of them aren't very good. However I needed somewhere to eat close by. I will say EAD was a pleasantly surprise. It's a new restaurant so everything was clean and the decoration was nice...though I thought it was a little bit dark inside. The waitstaff are friendly and the restaurant smelt like good Vietnamese food. I ordered coconut juice ($3.00) and a bun with egg roll (I was charged $1.50 but it was worth it cause the Spring roll was one of the best I've eaten). Honestly, I would say the coconut juice was a bit of an overcharged since it was a small slim glass with no refill, but I would say at least it was fresh coconut juice vs. in the can. The bun was delicious. The lemongrass beef was a bit chewy but all the sauce that came with it was not too bland and not too strong. All the vegetables was clean and fresh which really is a bonus for me. The only negative for me was first the price. It is a bit more expensive then other Vietnamese around Houston. The ice tea was reasonable but all the other drinks were around $3 to $4 and the glasses are quite small. Also most dishes came up to about $8 -$10. However personally how much a restaurant charge is not really a big deal for me as long as the food is good (which is how I felt about this restaurant). Hopefully I will not have to re-edit this review and they can reminds consistent. Sometimes restaurant around The woodlands can be good one day and terrible the next, so I'm hoping this will not be the cause here. read more

My second review of this fabulous restaurant in the past year. Please do yourself and the owners a favor and seek them out. They are hidden in back of this strip center where the Bike L. The pho is very, very good. Beef rattles dish was also exceptional. The beet egg and spring rolls we've ever had anywhere. Today we both had the beef rattles. Really very good. Very tender beef with bell peppers onions tomatoes etc. Be sure to get the egg on your rice. Also the new AMC theater has opened just south of the restaurant and the plaza east of the restaurant is nearly finished. A short walk to the movies right next door. read more

I had the filet mignon and fatty brisket pho delivered. It arrived hot well packaged and was delicious. My only complaint is that I only got 1 lime wedge. I like lots of lime. On a previous delivery I got the coconut curry with chicken. It was also delicious. read more

I've been their frequent customer for almost half a year now, so I can attest to the consistency in their quality. Their pho broth is delicious; it honestly reminds me of the pho I had in Vietnam when I used to live there. Their filet mignon slices are exactly how they do it in Vietnam! Some Vietnamese restaurants I've visited before in the US did not serve their filet mignon like this; their beef was basically thin slices of cardboard with zero flavor. So, thank you EAD. One thing they NEEEED to work on is the garnishes. EAD will give you bean sprouts, basil, and lime; boy, they know they're missing culantro and cilantro. Another dish I strongly recommend is their barbecue wrap. If you're down for some divinely seasoned and perfectly grilled pork wrapped in steamed rice wrap, accompanied with one of the best dipping sauces ever, go ahead and give the bbq wrap a try. It's on their appetizer menu. On the weekends, my boo thang and I usually come here for their weekend specials. Oh.my.god. Their steak and eggs is what joy tastes like. The steak is tender and delicious!! It's served with warm crunchy baguette. Exactly like how my mom would do it. The dish is called bò né in Vietnamese if anyone is wondering. Okay, one last recommendation and I'm gonna get off the internet now (LOL). Give their shaking beef a try (I forgot what it's called on their menu, since the dish does have various different names in different restaurants), it's called bò lúc lac in Vietnamese. Again, the beef is very tender and flavorful. It has this wonderful smoky taste to it, I believe they flambe their beef which, for lack of a better word, "completes" the dish's flavor profile. Also, their restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly. My favorite spot in the Woodlands area that won't break your bank (LOL). We come here all the time, the best Vietnamese restaurant in The Woodlands area. We always get it to go or eat outside in the pavilion. Typically we get some appetizers and pho, with extra pho broth. I've also tried the non-typical Vietnamese dishes like the curry. I would suggest sticking with their specialties, not that the other stuff isn't fine, it's just better elsewhere. I absolutely love the flavor of the pho broth here, and food is always fresh and delicious. If we can't figure out what to do for dinner, we always go here and everyone is happy. Horrible service. I go to pick up my food that I ordered at 6pm. I get there at 7pm and have to wait 5 minutes for someone to acknowledge me and another 10 minutes to get my food. My name is not on the order nor any receipt showing what is in the bag. We have to untie the bag and open each item to check that it's my order and that everything has been included. Other people were also waiting to pick up their to-go orders, but they had ordered later than me and had not been waiting an exorbitant amount of time for their food. Their orders are taken fresh from the kitchen. Mine has been sitting behind a counter for 30 minutes, so it's not even warm anymore. Oh, the reason I didn't pick it up earlier? So finally tried this place yesterday during my lunch break. The servers were very attentive and promptly took my order. I had the Vietnam egg rolls they were fresh served with lots of lettuce and other veggies, they were delicious. I ordered the filet mignon pho and got the small bowl. The broth was very delicious I was quite pleased, the only drawback was very little noodles. Good portion of beef, very fresh and it hit the spot. Restaurant is spacious and clean. Side veggies for my Pho were crispy and fresh. Peanut sauce was down right nasty. While the tea was impressively served with whole tea leaves and not some cheap tasteless tea bag, the broth for the beef Pho was disappointingly lacking in depth and overly salty. The entire meal was just a yo-yo experience of ups and downs. Pic of a dish served in the past is completely different today. Serviced was pleasant and accommodating. Sadly I've not yet found a simple and delicate dish of deep fried salt and pepper soft tofu. Overall 3 stars because I've had better Pho and Vietnamese food near by. read more

The pho is refreshing and delicious (full disclosure: I visited on a cold, rainy day so the pho could really have done no wrong). The entrees are thoughtful and flavorful: I've tried both the Korean style short ribs and chicken coconut curry, and extremely well-pleased with both. EAD is the truth. Really great Vietnamese place up near 242 area. It is in the way back right corner of the Sam Moon shopping center. The service is so attentive and the restaurant is so clean. My friend and I shared the char-grilled pork spring roll, which was really fresh. They have many options on the menu for entrees, including vermicelli, pho, and rice platters. The pork vermicelli and the beef rice platter we ordered were really fresh too. The prices are very fair and the Vietnamese flan dessert was the perfect finish. Glad to see the uptick in authentic Vietnamese / Korean restaurants in the area... will be back! read more

Went here for dinner tonight and we ordered the coffee, fresh squeeze oj, Vietnamese spring rolls, and the large korean short ribs meal. Everything came out within a reasonable amount of time except for the ribs.. My wife and I watched as guests beside us and new arrivals received their meal before us. We started to wonder WTF was going on and even tried to reason like, "they got their meal faster because they ordered pho", but when it got to the point that we finished our spring rolls, ate all the garnish, finished spoon feeding oj to our 1 yr old, and took her around the restaurant to look at the decorations....there's something wrong with our damn order!! After about 30 mins, a waiter told us that they just realized they gave our meal to the large party besides us and that they're making our ribs now. He offered us flan while we waited... Flan... FLAN?! Stupid ass flan! Who offers flan when you screwed up on ribs? I didn't say it, but I was definitely thinking it. 10 more mins past and we finally get our dinner.. I'll have to say....that was probably the best damn short ribs my family and I have ever tasted. While we enjoyed our final order the staff came over to apologize for the wait. They offered us broth soup and extra rice, which was also very nice of them. Before we received the check, the owner came up and explained to us that they only have 2 cooks and also apologized for the mix-up because the tables are so close together. When we finally got the bill we were also given a discount. The fact that each one of the staff came with a sincere gesture really made me appreciate their honesty and dedication to service. I came in with a great impression. I experienced a few hiccups in the service, but was amazed at how much the staff worked to rectify the issue. Thank you.. I was the one that left a 40% tip. Recap: service is bizarre. Food is ok, pho An on 242 is better, but I am Vietnamese and I worship Vietnamese food with a passion, so I might have higher expectation. But this is the north... conroe. Let's start with service, since that's the first things I encountered. We were greeted promptly coming in. The place is nice and spacious. The bathroom is too. Good impression and we thought it's a bit higher price but we were getting good service. Then, after that, Service was not good, at all... nobody asked me my drink order, until 10 minutes later when they saw us sitting there and keep turning around to get attention. Feel like how I tried asking a question in high school English class while the teacher was so into Shakespeare poem or something. Then, when we ordered, I ordered 3 appetizers and a soup. She brought out spring roll, not the grilled pork spring rolls I ordered. She pointed at the description and said it's spring roll with pork. I said it's not what I ordered or wanted. So she took it back and changed from A2 spring roll to A3 pork spring roll. I mean, i read the name to her when i ordered so she needed to match those names instead of assuming what's in her mind. The soup... what can I say? I asked her I saw this soup that had wontons and some meat in it, she pointed at the menu saying the Combination noodles soup has wonton in it, and I asked what else, and she said chicken, some meat, shrimp, etc. I asked for no fake crab, she got that one right. When the soup came out, there was no wonton at all, and I asked I thought you said this is the wonton soup, she said "ya no, this one doesn't have wonton in it." I was... stunned a bit... she was the one who told me this was what I wanted with wonton, and now she just told me "ya .. no." Like it's my fault that I ordered the wrong thing. Then I asked for wonton, and of course, the extra wonton was almost half the price of the whole bowl of soup. Delightful. NOTED: I did give 20% tip. But I sure hope they improve. For the northern part of Houston, there are not a variety of Asian cuisine. EAD has been a pleasant surprise! Right when you walk in, the restaurant has a bright entrance, along with spacious seating for large or small groups. There is a full Vietnamese staff eager to serve. I thumbed through the menu to be surprised there was no "banh mi", which is what i crave besides pho. I wanted something soupy, but to my surprise that day, not pho (that's usually my hangover beef bowl). For branchers, you can try the their "hu tieu" which is a noodle soup of options of rice, egg, or glass noodles. I ordered the combination bowl which consists of sliced chicken, minced pork, calamari, imitation crab sticks, and bok choy. Think that's a mouth full? Wait until you sip their broth. I didn't need to add any sauces to it but the spicy Chili oil to it (because I like spicin things up). Unintentionally, I am so particular with soup broths, I feel like I belong on Campbell's committee board! We get it. I'm all into broths! If you are in this neck of the woods, EAD is a sure spot to scope out! EAD should really consider adding banh mi to their menu. read more
