This was my first time at this cafe, though, I have passed it many times. If it were not for the hotel that recommended it, and gave me a 15% coupon, I might have skipped it. I am glad I did not. It was pretty full, but plenty of space at the bar. Dolly, the server, was very nice. I had a really bad morning, that I will not go into. Anyways, there were many things that looked good, and recommended, but seeing as I hadn't had a burger all week, I decided to go with the breakfast one. It was perfect. Great slices of bacon, egg, extra cheese, and crispy fries. Burger patty done just how I like it, and they didn't even ask. We wanted to eat at Foghorn but they had a long wait so we went next door to Eagle Cafe. They are apparently owned by the same people and at 3pm Eagle closes and Foghorn menu enters the scene. This was perfect because we sat at 3pm and got to order both menu items! I got the raspberry cosmopolitan and the Blood Orange Margarita. Both very lovely, the egg white foam gave me lemon meringue feels. Hubby got two Moscow mules. Refreshing and fresh for summer. I got the Surf and Turf Fillet Mignon & lobster tail with green beans and garlic mashed potatoes from Foghorn's menu. Cooked medium on the nose, very tender. Green beans were underdone and disappointing, a bite was enough. Hubby ordered Eagle menu Calamari and it was crispy, golden, and perfectly cooked. Cocktail sauce was delicious, maybe house made? Boneless wings were crispy, but not over cooked and dry and we enjoyed dunking in the Buffalo sauce and ranch. Creme brûlée finished our meal. There was a little snag with our bill that we were charged an extra drink, but they fixed it quickly and we made it to our sailing appointment on time. It is ok...but the satisfaction does not match the price point. The Crab Benedict...average cost $20.00 The Avocado Toast about $14.00 ....it wasn't terrible, but it was disappointing. The french toast...average. The only interesting dish we had was the Chilaquiles...that was at least tasty. the Hot Chocolate was good. We have one day here...i would've chosen a different breakfast place. Price Point to taste...I wouldn't recommend this place for breakfast. read more

I was visiting Pier 39 with my mom, and we stopped here for lunch. I had the seared salmon sandwich and WOW, it was awesome. So awesome that I'm back home in Texas, a week later, still thinking about that sandwich. If you need a nice spot to sit down and grab a bite, check out the Eagle Cafe. This was my first time being here and San Francisco. We were seated right away however we waited 10 minutes before anyone came to serve us. No apology for the wait; waitress was just ready to take our order. Received my drink but my husband and dad waiting an additional 5 minutes for their coffee. The food was okay. Not the hype that was in the reviews. My pancake wasn't cooked all the way so it was not edible. The manager did take it off and gave us a discount, but the waitress was just not good. We came here for a quick lunch as part of our fun day in the city. We got a couple of their clam chowders in sourdough bread bowls topped with crab meat. It was simple and delicious. Hit the spot. They have outdoor seating too if you want a view of the waterfront. Good place to get clam chowder at Pier 39 without having to wait in the long Boudin line. Pretty tasty food after a long day in the sun! My friend ordered the avocado toast on sourdough (which came with a salad) and I had the cheeseburger with a salad. The place closes at 3pm, so definitely make sure you are there by 2pm. The staff were clearly ready to go and were removing things such as ketchup off our table around 2:30pm. I don't have a problem with cleaning up for closing time, but I definitely felt rushed. However, I would still come back--just earlier. :) read more

Walked in during a storm. My Alcatraz tour was cancelled, and this was the only place open at 8am. Really only intended to have a coffee for a bit, but the kids were hungry. One of them had the chilaquiles, and I ate his leftovers. It was really good. Another wanted pancakes. I also ate his leftovers. Pretty decent pancakes. Fluffy, moist. Another child wanted fries. Normally, the place doesn't serve fries until lunch, but it wasn't really busy yet, and the chef was able to make some, which was really nice of them to do. I wouldn't expect that request if it were more busy (which it got a bit later), so it's probably not a given. Overall, the good was good, the service was acceptable, and overall the restaurant was pretty accommodating. If you're at Pier 39 early enough and hungry, it's not a bad bet. read more

Came here on my last day in the city. The breakfast here is delicious lots of options to choose from. Service is great and the servers are friendly. So we had a couple of items from the shorter 'breakfast till 3pm' section in the lunch menu - which was underwhelming (overcooked eggs etc). Overall, this was a very good breakfast. They don't take your order at the table; you have to order at the counter. Not a big deal, just something to be aware of. I was sitting outside, so it would've been nice to have been offered a coffee refill instead of having to leave my food outside to go in and get more coffee. That's a very minor issue, though. There were just a couple other minor issues that lead me to give Eagle Cafe 4 stars instead of 5. I requested that they go light on the hollandaise sauce on my crab benedict, but they either ignored that request, or their usual benedict is a hollandaise bomb. I spent the first few minutes carefully scraping off as much of it as I could without breaking my yolks, so by the time I started eating it, it was getting cold. The eggs were just slightly undercooked; there were some parts of the egg whites that were still liquidy-- not so much that I couldn't eat it, but a tiny bit more cook time would've been perfect. I know these are fairly minor nit-picky issues, but I do try to save my 5 stars for pretty near perfect experiences. I would certainly be happy to eat here again the next time I'm in town (or maybe even again later this week before I leave)! read more

We have had a great lunch on a busy afternoon. Seated in about 15 minutes for a party of 6. Sat at their bar while we waited and enjoyed Iray as the bartender , she was so personable, professional and kind. We had a great Irish coffee and then for lunch enjoyed a great Boudin's bread bowl with clam chowder. The avocado toast was delicious, along with the burgers. Great atmosphere right at the entrance of Pier 39. I would recommend this place and come back again. Family friendly. Casual. Great location. Covered parking lot across the street . $10.00 and hour and 1st hour is covered by the restaurant so bring your ticket. read more

Good food, lousy way to present bill The Eagle is now part of the Warren Simmons restaurant chain and at the end of the meal the waitress appears with a tablet presenting the bill to us. She sticks around waiting to see how much of a tip will be added to the bill which is a way to put pressure on the person paying the bill. The way the so-called extremely wealthy and exploitive Simmons "family" presents the bill totally ruins the dining experience. The Simmons "family" has ruined a once great restaurant. read more
