My fambam of ten stayed at Hotel Zoe because we had an early San Francisco tour the next day. One of the best parts was that Pescatore, the restaurant, was conveniently located just downstairs by the lobby. Since we were a large group, I called ahead to make a reservation. Luckily, they had a lovely private room with a big-screen TV just for us. It wasn't crowded, and I was relieved we didn't have to share the space with other guests--we tend to get loud when we're together! I wish I could remember the name of the friendly person I spoke to on the phone, who ended up being our server for dinner. I don't know what everybody ordered, but my man and I shared a seafood pasta. It was alright with enough mussels, shrimp, and fish. My sister shared the Margherita Pizza with everyone, and it was pretty good. We ordered one of each dessert on the menu and shared them between the ten of us. The most popular one was the Chocolate Lava Cake. The cake was rich and oozed out warm melted chocolate when cut, perfectly paired with vanilla ice cream. The Panna Cotta was smooth, silky, and elegant. The most surprising of all was the Banana Pudding, which was decadent, sweet, and comforting. Knowing we had an Alcatraz tour coming up, we found the movie "Escape from Alcatraz" and watched it on the big-screen TV during dinner. The staff were accommodating and let us finish the movie without any rush. My family enjoyed the experience so much that they decided to have breakfast at Pescatore the next morning before our tour, since they didn't want to venture far. Even though I was tempted to try a different breakfast spot, I realized that sharing the experience with my family was more important. Since everyone wanted to eat at Pescatore, I was happy to join them. We made another reservation, as the server mentioned breakfast tends to be quite busy. It was thoughtful of them to reserve the same private room for us again. For breakfast, my man and I shared the American Breakfast, which came with eggs, sausage, potatoes, and a choice of bread--a hearty way to fuel up before our eight-hour tour. I enjoyed a latte, and my daughter was happy with her parfait. In fact, everyone in our group of ten was pleased with their meals. The servers were prompt and efficient; while not as friendly as our dinner server, they made sure our orders arrived on time. read more

My husband and I were in Fisherman's Warf of San Francisco (July 16-20). As we stood outside of Pascatore reading the menu posted, the chair that was propping the door open was quickly pulled inside. The door was immediately locked from top to bottom. Once we stepped to the corner to cross the street, the door was unlocked. As for do I recommend? Had breakfast and dinner here since we were staying at Hotel Zoe, which is attached. Foccacia: The bread was toasted and crunchy so keep that in mind since I was hoping for a fluffier version. Steamed mussels: Flavors were good, but on the salty side and mussels were hit or miss. Quite a few were overcooked. Caesar Salad: Tasted as expected. Between the service and food, this was the best meal I had in Fisherman's Wharf. I was weary at first of the idea of eating at a restaurant connected to a hotel. But boy was I wrong! Starting with the service, the waiter was very personable, helpful, and efficient. The dining area was great but due to the fact that I wanted to film my experience, I was able to eat in the comfy lounge area in Hotel Zoe. When the food came out, the presentation was immaculate. After eating the seafood fettuccine, chicken Parmesan, and pizza, all were equally great and was the best meal I had on this trip. (I went to quite a few restaurants too!) I ate here 3 times during a weekend staycation in San Francisco during the holidays since it was connected to the hotel where my boyfriend and I were staying at. DINNER - We had dinner here the first night, ordering the caesar salad to share and seafood pastas from the specials menu. Nothing spectacular, but satisfying. We dined here at 7:30pm on a Friday, and not many people were around then. BREAKFAST - We had the green chilaquiles, chorizo omelet, full American breakfast and French toast across our two mornings here, and they were all filling entrees. Chilaquiles had a good spice to them, but I've had better at other spots. Besides fried eggs, it could've used another protein. The chorizo omelet was solid, as well as the American breakfast. The French toast was a real treat, I'm still thinking of it! As you can imagine, more folks are around for breakfast, mainly folks staying at the hotel and redeeming meal credit. Since we were here for the holidays, the place was nicely decorated. "Snowy" windows and all to evoke a winter scene. They also have a huge wood-fired oven, which made me curious about their pizzas. Lovely setting a few blocks from the water. There was one table with a family of eight people when we arrived and a few folks sitting at the bar. I counted eight men behind the long bar, midway of which, is the location of the grills and fryers, all visible from the seats. The bartender was working solo. And as people kept walking in, he was crazy busy. He was also our server. The first course was cold. It sat there for quite some time before he brought it over to us. I touched it and requested to return it as he was dashing away. He started to protest, but the restaurant manager caught his eye. He briskly removed the food. Our dinner was good. Came here for fall restaurant week, made a reservation for Friday night a few days in advance. We had a prefixed menu for restaurant week, here's what we got: Margarita - house marg was a let down for the price. It was clearly store bought margarita mix and didn't have a freshness to it at all. Eggplant Bruschetta - this was fantastic! Very unique and the balsamic glaze was the perfect compliment. 10/10! Lemon Ricotta Asparagus - this was bit disappointing, it's basically cold asparagus topped with ricotta, lemon juice/zest, and radish. I wouldn't get this again. Mushroom Risotto - though it looked super creamy and flavorful, this was incredibly bland. I had to ask for a salt and pepper shaker to even make it partially edible. Super disappointed in this as well Panna Cotta - this was a 10/10. Super rich and creamy and the fresh berries balanced it out perfectly. Overall, we probably wouldn't come here again. For the price, the food wasn't worth it for us unfortunately. Maybe their meat dishes are better but as a vegetarian, there are better options elsewhere. read more

Price: (3/5) I thought the prices were decent before I saw the portions. I don't eat a lot but I felt like I could eat 2.5 portions myself. Stayed at Hotel Zoe for a midweek stay which included breakfast with a choice of an entrée, coffee or tea and a selection of juices. The daily service fee of $30 per night also included a $10 discount in the restaurant per stay. For breakfast, we had a delicious full spread. Loved the vegetarian frittatas that were full of mushrooms, onions, spinach, bell peppers and fontina cheese. Served with a side of potatoes and tomatoes, cantaloupe, strawberry jam and fresh sourdough bread, it was the perfect way to start the day. Special thanks to our waiter, Rene, who really spoiled us with amazing service. Used the hotel credit to also have a very fresh grilled salmon. Save your money, eat elsewhere! Ordered crab cakes and fish and chips. Crab cakes were ok at best. Tasted like a frozen bag special but the sauce helped hide it. Fish and chips were atrocious! Ate breakfast here while staying at the Hotel Zoe. Approximately 11am on a Saturday. Restaurant was fairly empty, just us and two other tables. Servers spent most of their time chatting with each other and ignoring us. The waiter who took our drink order disappeared, someone else took our food order, and also disappeared. Had to wave down a third server to get our bill so we could leave. The food. Poached eggs (in the benedicts) were obviously cooked in straight vinegar, and the whole dish just tasted like vinegar. Had uncooked, clear egg on my plate as well. The side of potatoes was a salt bomb. I usually never actually put ketchup on my breakfast, but had to here to try and hide the vinegar and salt overload that was my plate. Ordered a coffee, small cute cups, but had to ask several times for cream, and was not offered a refill until after we were already trying to leave. So I paid $5 for 6 oz of coffee. My family and I came in and there was a queue of about 10 people before us. It was very average food (bland) and low waiter attention (had to physically get up to find waitress to refill drinks-once our food arrived she never returned to check on us).
