I want to RAVE about this restaurant!!! I cannot believe I found this gem while snowmobiling the upper peninsula. I was able to get a salmon burger on a gluten free bun AND a both dairy and gluten free brownie for dessert!!! As a dairy and gluten free individual I was SO grateful for the opportunity to have not only a filling meal but dessert! That's a rarity and truly a treat. I also want to thank the staff for being so kind and answering all my questions! Next time I come up this is on my must visit list!

Good (almost only, literally!) place to eat in Eagle Harbor. Half rack ribs and Lake trout special, raspberry pie. The pie was the standout.

Cute little gem in the U.P. of Michigan! Very clean and great service. I recommend the chili and the homemade desserts!

Delicious grilled trout sandwich with sweet potato fries.

This cozy little bar and grill is worth a stop for lunch if you're taking the scenic route from Houghton to Copper Harbor. There's a main dining area to the left when you walk in, or you can hang out at the bar to the back right. Some of the tables in the bar area are decorated with maps of Lake Superior that you can study while you're waiting for your food. For a taste of the Great Lakes, try the grilled trout sandwich with sweet potato fries. The trout was fresh, moist, nicely charred and served with some green leaf lettuce. Don't even think of dousing it with the tartar sauce that's served on the side - this sandwich has plenty of flavor to stand on its own. The sweet potato fries, like the trout, were perfectly done - nice and crispy, but not dried out. If fish is not your fancy, the menu also had several burgers that looked tempting. The bar has several beers from the local Keewenaw Brewing Company - "KBC" on the beer menu. They're all canned - so if you're a bottle snob, you might want to try something else. My favorite was the November Gale Pale Ale. The Old Ore Dock Scotch Ale was okay. There are several other varieties if you want to try one of the local favorites.

Lovely atmosphere and excellent food. We are here twice and it was worth the price. Salmon was great, and the trout sandwich was great.

Solid burgers and a menu with a little bit of everything. Service was slow at first, but attentive once we were waited on.

Great food, good local beer. Definitely give this a try if you're out in the boonies of the Keweenaw, looking for some grub.

Greeted by the bartenders when we walked in, we chose where to sit and walked up to the bar to oder drinks. They have all the well classics in beer and booze so if you don't want snooty, don't order it. If you want high end cocktails with homemade tinctures - they've got you! So the locals are covered and the tourists are covered. The menu is short and sweet. We ordered everything. Popcorn - cool and yum! They put on a bbq rub instead of plain salt. I liked that touch a lot ( and I love my popcorn!). Hot dog - coney style. You want to bath in the chili! The meat in the hot dog is rich and full of flavor. Soft bun, top notch classic dog. Pulled pork - nice pickled sides add good acidity to the pork. It could use a side of sauces though. It would be cool if they had a carrier of different homemade sauces to choose from. Ribs - sold individually. Kind of a cool concept. Reduces waste which is always a good thing. Good smoke flavor and the sauce was really good too. I do love a Carolina sauce but our fiends didn't care for the sauce (mustard base). Again, this ties back to needing some sauce.

We did not know this until we were seated and should have noticed since there was only one other table with patrons. Hindsight looking at the website reviews I noticed the reviews were written by Jane Doe and John Smith giving it 5 stars. Hmmm. We ordered an appetizer and 3 entrees with hopes for the best, thinking it was just off season on a Friday evening. Rolls were cold. Appetizer of grilled cauliflower was under seasoned and soggy. The lettuce in the salad was browned. One of us ordered the veal and schnitzel. Veal was extremely overdone, dry, and almost burned. The schnitzel had no flavor. I ordered the salmon which tasted fishy and was not cooked properly, and the side of rice tasted like Uncle Ben's. My mother ordered pork chop and baked potato. The potato was cold in the middle and the pork was dry and flavorless. We were wondering if everything has been previously frozen or was from a previous dinner service. Unfortunately we were hoping for the best during our 1.5 hour wait for the entree course but were greatly disappointed. The waitress and hostess were friendly. The establishment misrepresented itself as a beautiful historic dining experience. It was historic. Hopefully the owners recognize the historic significance of this building and improve the dining experience.
