Really friendly; they seem to perform decent-good work...but customer service is questionable... July 2024 I had them work on my 95 OBS F250 air conditioning.... $1760; they also did something without asking or quoting to the power steering + $350- no phone call, not explained, just added to the invoice...?? Less than a couple months later the ac was already not functioning; I was able to trailer the truck back to them in 2025; they replaced a control plug to the ac motor-did not charge me.... picked up the truck on a trailer (i live farther away and don't have an extra human to drive for tasks as these), I did not bother checking everything under the hood... a few days later the air intake port -unsecured- flew into the belt, dislocating the belt, slamming the vac pump, and all the joyful noises that come along with that. Talked to mike, he said they did not believe they left the air port unsecured, but would send me $200 to cover a replacement belt and air port.... +2months and I suppose that got lost in the mail, as it never arrived. Earlier in 2024 I had my 2012 Ram dually there for replacement of transfer case, fuel lines, and other +$7500... generally that work was 'good' though the truck is having current issues that i currently believe may be unrelated... after retrieving that truck I found a burn hole in the passenger seat cover-consistent with cig, vape, solder ?? and the floormat had been 'tagged' with someone's initials...no one has smoked or vaped in that vehicle since I bought it in ~2017.. They / Eagle had no idea how that could happen and no one there smokes or vapes- allegedly. read more

If I could give this shop zero stars I would. DO NOT take your vehicle to this shop! Shady tactics to try and rip people off. First I was charged $200 for a transmission service I did not get, when I got my vehicle home I crawled under it and the seal had not been replaced, there was mud still in it, there was no way a transmission service and filter kit was done. The original problem was still there so I took it back and then I figured they were not being straight with me so I took my vehicle out of there, they knew I was coming to get it and when I arrived with a trailer they had drained my practically brand new battery down to erase the codes to cover up a lesser repair because they wanted to get me for a bigger issue than what I had. *** THIS PLACE IS A SCAM!!! DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLES HERE *** I brought my vehicle here for a secondary diagnostic. I was in an accident and the insurance tried to say that the transmission issue was pre-existing and the only to get them to pay for the repair was I had to get a diagnostic from a mechanic staying that the problem was caused by the accident. I spoke to Bruce, manager, owner, not sure, don't care, he's a liar. He said he had someone coming in the next day and he'd have him take a look at it. He stated an issue like this, if my car was working without problems, then I was rear-ended and the transmission issue started immediately, that was all he needed to say it was caused by the accident. Once I got the car in, his tune changed. They started doing work before I had even authorized it. Bruce called me the next day about the diagnostic results and he started telling me this story as to why he wouldn't make a statement that the accident caused the problem, but yet he said he had already started replacing the electronic solenoid in the transmission and proceeded to quote me on how much it would cost. I asked for a DIAGNOSTIC, not a repair, so he immediately started screwing me right then, and it only got worse. After they replaced the electronic solenoid, he called again and said that didn't fix the problem so they decided it was the PCM (main computer), and that it would cost more but he was doing me a favor and not charging me for the part he had already replaced. Oh how nice of him to not charge me for a repair I hadn't authorized yet. But get this, the replacement part was $1200 from the dealership, but he was going to get me a great deal on a refurbished part, which was supposed to cost only half that, but some how I ended up still being charged $1200. After I finally get a notice that the car is "ready" I go pick it up and was hit with this $1200 bill. The only way to move on was to charge it or I wouldn't get my car back. At no point did they ever finish discussing the insurance issue and wanted me to pay for the repair when I never asked for the vehicle to be repaired, only a diagnostic saying that the accident caused the issue. So, I pick up the car, noticed that they had not test drove the vehicle because it only had 1 mile placed on the odometer from the time I dropped it off to the time I picked it up. Once I got home I parked it and didn't drive it until I went to work. I drove to work and the vehicle overheated. Someone had left the radiator cap loose (wasn't me). Then when I tried to drive home the transmission issue re-appeared. I called Eagle and left a message and they NEVER contacted me back. Upon further inspection of the vehicle (I know quite a bit about cars myself), I noticed that the PCM they supposedly had replaced with a refurbished unit, had not been replaced. It was still covered with the same amount of dust and grime as the rest of the engine compartment. So what exactly did they charge me for? NEVER COME HERE! read more

Update: The owner's comment about this not being his shop is untrue. I verified with Absolute Autowerks in Richardson that this is the Eagle location they sent my car to after the transmission failed after a test drive for another issue (axles) had been addressed. I am guessing the higher price for the rebuild and after market cooler include some mark-up from Absolute Autowerks since they arranged for the repairs. So that's why while I live in Arlington, the car was repaired in Plano. The owner can argue all he wants but the fact remains, this was his shop that did the rebuild, his shop that refused to take it on a test drive on a dreary October day in 2014 without me making an appointment even though I told them I had driven all the way from Arlington. And this is the shop that didn't check the cooling lines before installing them to be sure they were clear and the shop that told Ashley at Absolute Autowerks there would be 30-40 cars ahead of me if I took it back there after the transmission failed with 62,000 miles on a very expensive rebuild. ------------------------------ I was referred to this shop by my regular mechanic after the 5 speed automatic in my 2004 Accord failed in June 2014. Went in on a Wednesday, had it back the following Monday. I was strongly advised to have them install an after market transmission cooler since the factory one was poorly placed. It was strongly hinted that if I didn't get the cooler I wouldn't have a warranty but they never outright said it. Since most Honda forums recommend an additional cooler, I told them to go ahead. First few months the transmission was fine. Then I went out to Phoenix that fall and it was still close to 100 degrees there. I noticed a bit of a slip or flare when it would downshift at part throttle mostly in the 50-60 mph range. Once I got back to the Dallas area and cooler weather it was shifting fine again. I went by their location to see if they could take it for a test drive to try and replicate the issue. I was told I had to call ahead and schedule a test drive. Really? I spent $2880 for a master kit rebuild and an auxiliary transmission cooler and you can't take 10 minutes to test drive my car? As the weather continued to cool, the problem disappeared so i didn't worry too much about it. Late the following spring and into summer, I started getting the occasional downshift flare again but by then I was well past the 12,000 mileage warranty. So I'd manually downshift when I was in the 50-60 mph range and again, once it cooled off the problem went away other than a couple times on a long road trip driving in heavy city traffic. This spring the issues showed up earlier in the year than the previous year. I did a few drain and fill fluid changes and that seemed to help a lot, at least until a couple months ago. The flare was back with a vengeance and worse than ever. then passing a slow moving car on the freeway it had a really long shift from 4th to 5th gear. Then later that day in reverse it was slipping and taking a long time to engage, plus there was a pronounced slip on the 2-3 upshift. I parked the car and called my regular mechanic. He didn't seem to keen on putting a used transmission in my car and said he was sure Eagle would work with me but there were 40 cars ahead of me at that time. And I didn't trust them to do it right. I found another shop (Texas Best Transmission) that was closer to me in Arlington and had my car towed to him. When he initially tore it down, he didn't find any major issues other than the stock Honda clutch packs they used showed excessive wear and scorching. He said he used different clutch packs since he feels the Honda ones wear out too quickly but he said they shouldn't look like that after only 63,000 miles. He calls later that week to let me know my car was ready. When I get there to pick it up, he tells me he found out what caused it to fail. Apparently there was some packing material in the lines to the after market cooler that they installed that made its way to the banjo bolt that connected it to the top of the transmission and that it was not only restricting flow and reducing line pressure but allowing the transmission fluid to get too hot.So the after market cooler they were so adamant that I get is what caused the failure. He said he cleaned it out and also installed the Trans Lab shift kit which addresses a lot of the issues Honda automatics have. It how shifts better than it ever has, every shift is crisp and consistent. Wish I'd found his shop first. read more

The review was logged 11yrs after the repair was made but we are still dealing with the results of the job which are the oil leak and clunking when it downshifts at every stoplight or sign. Its a true account of my experience with this repair and I didn't log it to malign the shops involved. I think these problems should have been fixed at the time of the repair instead of one shop blaming the other as to why the problems are still there. read more

After Eagle in Lewisville failed to properly repair my transmission, I came here. At first, I described the issues I'd had and they said it was obviously poor workmanship and offered to back me up if I were to follow legal action on the previous shop. The warranty did not transfer to another shop, so I had to pay to have the transmission rebuilt again. Once the work was done, the owner informed me that he would not back me up in court because the other shop was in his chain... The transmission failed again, they covered it under warranty, it failed again, and I traded the vehicle in. Half a dozen times in the shop and they couldn't fix my transmission. I don't know what junk shop they source parts from, but I could have purchased two brand new Nissan transmission for the amount of money I wasted at the two Eagle locations. read more

Very disappointed in Eagle Transmission on a moral standpoint. A year and 3 months ago, I had my transmission completely rebuilt from top to bottom. Also had new u-joints installed and drive shaft balanced. About a month in or so I had a leak from somewhere but they fixed it. I was happy with the service so I had my clutch replaced in a different car I owned as well. Fast forward to 3 days ago. On my way home I lost all power in all gears except 1st. Had it towed to eagle to get fixed. I'm short, they tell me I'm 3 months out of warranty. This doesn't usually happen but to fully diagnose it needs to be pulled apart for $500. Gaskets and seals can't be reused and there will be a cost for that. Could be something simple but you don't want to use old parts with new parts so a complete rebuild is suggested at the same price I paid a year and 3 months ago. I'm no mechanic and I understand mechanical parts break. However, if you are using parts you stand by and have competent employees to install said parts, then the problem lies therein. I would have expected something like this from a shade tree backyard type set up but not a shop in business for over 25 years. Additionally I would expect A GOOD shop to understand that this DOESN'T happen often and would help the customer out financially be it the labor and or the parts. I would not transfer the entire first back to the loyal paying customer and basically say you are SOL. How can I even think of getting the same work done in confidence knowing it can happen again using the same parts I again have to pay for. Owner and manager were empathetic but unwilling to eat any of the cost. Just said the parts people will not take back after a year. So I guess all I can do is cut and paste this review and post to as many public forums as possible. It's unfortunate as I thought this local shop was my go to transmission shop. **** DO NOT USE THIS PLACE ***** Honda Pilot had a "new" transmission put on in May 2015 and it's now beginning of August 2016 and my transmission is slipping! I called and was told parts are out of warranty and that they would "work" with me on labor but parts are no longer under warranty! How do you get a new transmission and it breaks down 1 year later? I'm almost certain they are using used parts. My car never ran the same when they first replaced it but it ran and after going back time and time again they claim it was fine and nothing wrong! Almost made me feel like I was going crazy! Cost me $3700 and now I have to pay someone again! don't take your chances!! Go elsewhere! I was referred here by a mechanic at an oil change place in Sunnyvale and I am SOOOOO happy I went to them. I thought I had a problem with my transmission and they went above and beyond to try to identify the problem and fix it. It turns out it was a simple engine cleanup and very inexpensive to fix. They were very, very thorough and very patient with me and my millions of questions. What's best, though, is no one took advantage of my gender or my lack of automotive knowledge (as I've experienced so many times before). AVOID THESE PEOPLE AT ALL COSTS.. I have recently re-read the comment coming from Bruce at Eagles Transmission and was amazed to see the desperation and cover up and unwillingness to admit to the dishonesty and harm they caused myself or even those before me. To rehash....I was forced to have my transmission repaired not once, not twice but three times due to poor work, lower grade parts (that I was told were NEW and also paid for) and over pricing. I did and still do have proof of the poor quality work and proof of their disrespect to me as a customer. I made many attempts to have this rectified. I took my car back to them over and over TRUSTING them to repair their mistakes and they could not and did not. Each and every time I was treated loudly with slang and disrespect from Bruce and Joe (documentation available if necessary) Their billing was even mis-marked and kept unprofessionally and the only comment that came from them during the deposition was...."He must have put it there" when in fact the bills and comments (that showed their billing errors, dishonesty and decievement) were printed from their shop on their specific paper. I was also told by other shops including another Eagle Transmission that I should not return there as they are dishonest and provide shotty work at best. Of course that manager was fired afterwards...Hmmm I wonder why? Because he told the truth. The fact is it shouldn't taken a well established shop with qualified multiple transmission specialists 3 attempts to repair one mans transmission. Another fact is regardless of how you see the relationship between customer and service provider....a client should never be lied too, treated poorly and forced to over pay not once but three times for a service that was not provided. There was a time when the customer was king..Those days no longer exist. Yes I did contact the BBB as many apparently have prior to me, but due to their tenure that was a waste of time. I am presently going through the FTC....but If these gentlemen care for their reputation and provide me with the full reimbursement for my Transmission repair failure...I will at that point then move on, forgive their failings and not mention this again at any point to anyone, but until then I will make sure that others know what happened to me so that this horror can be avoided for them. They have our Acura MDX again... 7 months after fully rebuilding our transmission to the tune of $2600. There was something going on with the transmission again (slipping a gear) so my husband took it back. One of the electronic components within the transmission is going out and we now have to pay an additional $480 because they don't replace the electronic components when they rebuild a transmission... Also, surprise surprise, they found other things wrong with the car and, oh yah, it's an additional $140. I feel like every cliche about a sleazy, sneaky repair shop fits this place perfectly. They also leave dirt and grease all throughout the inside of the car. I hate being in this position and I just wish I could find someone I feel I could trust. I'm in nursing school and money is so tight... It's disheartening and leaves you feeling hopeless when you deal with a place like this. read more

Do NOT ever use this shop. They are completely dishonest. Just because we didn't get the work done they are now trying to charge my daughter 600. Told her it was a free estimate and free tow but not only if you get the work done. Then told her how much it could be to fix and asked if she wanted to know exactly what was wrong. Of course she said yes. Still not telling her it would cost for the estimate. She's 17, she didn't know and she's a minor. They didn't ask if your over 18. Then when asked said they wouldn't offend their customers by asking their age. You should ask if your over 18. She never saw them nor signed anything. Then the guy on the phone was so rude! I mean I kept my cool for 10-15 min trying to talk to him, then starts basically talking about my parenting because she handled it. Such a dishonest shop. There was many things said that were not right! We don't lie and have never had a problem with a shop before or even any business. Had 2 problems at this location. 1st was a transmission rebuild on a Maxima 2 years ago. Transmission was shifting intermittently and had it rebuilt. Same problem was still occurring and after return inspection, they could not find the problem. After an internet search, I returned and had them put on a speed sensor that they charged me for. Problem fixed. Next problem on a GMC Envoy. Had them replace a radiator, replace the fan belt and service the transmission/ fluid change 80,000 mile schedule. Three weeks later the fan belt broke. Emergency repair at another facility revealed the belt had broken because Eagle had left out a bolt from the alternator and it came loose slowly. Then when a transmission line to the radiator started leaking, I was told they had no time to look at it that day to see if it was covered. Try the next morning. When I took off work the next day and brought it in, the gentleman there said they had no time to even look at it. Had to have it repaired somewhere else. Will not bring any vehicles or send anyone else there. read more

My transmission was slipping. I took it in and they advised it would have to be rebuilt. After over a week the truck was ready. I left and found that there was a hard shift between the gears. I took it back several times and they could not get it corrected. I gave up. Now less than a year later the transmission is slipping again. They do not know how to diagnose an issue, they just replace parts hoping to get it fixed. read more

I took my 2008 Trailblazer to Eagle Transmission on July 28th, 2015 after they were recommended by Firestone McKinney. I had been informed by Firestone that I had a leak somewhere around the transfer case. Later that day I was informed it was a leak in the front differential and it would take several days and cost about $ 1170 to repair. I called in the afternoon on July 31st and was told the work was completed but my battery somehow died and they needed to recharge it. (I thought this was unusual as I had a reasonably new heavy duty battery that I had never had a problem with before or since.) I was told I could come and pick it up as it would be charged when I arrived. When I got there about 45 minutes later it wasn't charged yet and at one point I watched 3 men inspecting something under the hood. Shortly after they drove my car up and left it running. As I left Eagle I tried to make an Onstar phone call however Onstar would not work. The next Monday I called Onstar and they tried to run diagnostics. They informed me they couldn't communicate with my car and I needed to take it to a GM dealership. I did and was informed that the VCIM module was shorted out and it would be $ 830 to replace and reconnect to Onstar. According to GM dealer warnings, if you try to charge the battery while the key is in the ignition and in the on or RAP(reserve auxiliary power) position it can cause a short in the VCIM module. According to Eagle there is no way that the keys were in the ignition when they charged my battery and this is my problem. I will never know exactly how the VCIM module was shorted out during the time my car was at Eagle Transmission, however I do know it happened while it was there and they wouldn't take any responsibility. I would never go back there nor would I recommend them. I will say the leak appears to be fixed and it was the price I was quoted. This is the only reason that I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1. I'm now out $ 830 to repair Onstar. I've learned a valuable lesson and will go to a dealership the next time. Cindi D read more

Please please do not go here. I would not want anyone else experience the costly nightmare I've had to endure over the past year. Last summer the motor in my car needed to be replaced. Eagle replaced the motor and got it running again but it sounds horrible and leaks so much oil. When these additionally issues were brought to their attention they advised it was just an older car. The car makes more noise and leaks more oil now than it did before. Additionally, when the car was taken to them my AC worked great. When I got the car back, it was completely broken. When I brought this to their attention I was told it was just a coincindence. I've had to spend an additional $1,000+ to have another shop correct problems they caused. It's quite heartbreaking that a business would operate like this. It's been an incredibly stressful experience and I would hate for anyone else out there to have to go through what I've been through.
