This earls is very busy but it was worth the wait! The service was top notch, the atmosphere was clean with modern whistler-appropriate decor, and the food was executed very well. My mom and I booked a hotel that is right beside Earls. We went to our room, before that we had to enter the door that is beside Earl's kitchen backdoor. We saw a chick walked out facetiming her friends. We ignored her and went upstairs to drop off our things and went back downstairs. Which was 15 minutes later. Right when we exited, the chick was still facetiming. A waitress came out and asked the lady that was facetiming to come in because there was someone waiting for her. We then found out that the lady who was facetiming was also a manager. Manager looked at the lady and said, "Tell him to wait 15 more minutes. I'm facetiming my friend." Manager's tone and expression was very unprofessional. She wasn't even on her break. My mom was very furious as we almost decided to go in for a drink. After hearing how rude and unprofessional manager was, we decided not to go in. If manager decided to be rude to her own employee and someone who wanted to see her, we definitely do not want to go in that place. Too bad considering I personally knew a chef who is also a sweetheart that works in Earls. read more

Great service and food is consistently great - they are a chain. I had the chicken curry, which came with rice and garlic naan. This is my go-to dish here. Seems weird that this place would have good curry, but I love it and I'm pretty particular about my curry. My husband got a chicken pasta that was also very good. From the moment we walked in until we left we enjoyed an incredible dining experience. The service was outstanding, our server, Pru, was amazing. Never had to make a request for our drinks to be filled, asked how our meal was, attentive to our needs. Now the food! The appetizer was excellent. We shared our entrees (fish and chips and Santa Fe chicken salad) fresh and delicious. The topper was the huge slice of pumpkin pie, total perfection, the best we've ever had. Food was okay, but service was poor. We inquired about a kids menu but were informed by the host there is no kids menus, just kids portions.Not sure what that means so we asked our server, who also couldn't really explain a difference from the regular menu items. Our family decided to pick 3 entrees to share with our two kids. Our son loves ribs so we chose that, when we went to order, we were informed they were out of ribs. Great, now my kid is disappointed and we had to regroup to decide on something else. The Server should have informed us when we first sat down what items they didn't have. When we were finished, we requested our bill from our server. Again, we had two young children with us who were ready to go. The server disappeared for another ten minutes and then proceeded to bring a bill and pay machine to the two tables surrounding us one at a time before coming back to our table, one of which was still ordering drinks, and the other was seated and served after us. Very frustrating for people with kids trying to leave! Left a poor taste and not sure we will return. Server was not very friendly and seemed inconvenienced. read more

Haven't been to an Earls in quite some time. There's just so much to do and eat around town. Even Whistler where I usually go for Japanese. This time we had time to try one of the old favs. Earls. Location was pretty big. Bathroom was an adventure to get to. All the way at the back and through a maze! hahaha. We had the new Shrimp Taco's which were surprisingly good. I did enjoy that. It was Wings Wednesday so of course we had wings. Normal nothing special edible. My collegue had Tai wings which were nice. The only thing out of ordinary was the drinks. I had a soda water, but it was a bit sweet. She had the Iced Tea and it tasted like Sugar! Very sweet. Maybe it was the POP machine that was dispensing a richer than normal drink. Service was good and friendly, the Whistler Way! I do like the looks of the new menu but gone are some old fav's like the California Shrimp Pizza. read more

So we were up here to show off Whistler to a friend (and potential new BC resident) and decided a snack and drink on Ear'ls patio was the way to go. Both my friends enjoyed their cocktails, which is the same from Earls to Earls. The servers were both friendly and helpful at navigating us through the menu and daily specials. We decided to snack on the tuna nachos, which turned out to be a great surprise. The nacho's were replaced with fried wontons, and topped with seared bit of tuna, green onion and other tasty things that I can't remember. Needless to say they didn't last long. 2nd dinner of our trip was here. Waited about 45 mins for a table for a mediocre showing. I was not impressed at all. My clam chowder was cold on the first pass, so i sent it back. It came out much better, but was all broth. No potatoes, clams, it was pretty dismal. The cajun chicken sandwich was better, the upgrade to truffle fries was unnecessary because the truffle oil was so sparing, it was undetectable. The shock came when I got the bill. On the menu my meal was $15, and it offered a $2 upgrade to truffle fries, and $2 for a soup/salad. I was expecting a $19 bill. My bill was $26, because, as the server said, it's a choice on upgrades, you can't do both. So I was charged $9 for my bowl of broth. This would have been nice to know before hand. Wouldn't recommend this place, there are much better dining options in the village. read more

This was the first restaurant in my trip in the northwest where I was alone. I came in, sat at the bar. The bartender was very kind, offering suggestions and updated me on the menu. She also was helpful on the local microbrews, which is always cool. I ordered the halibut, got a side salad...There wasn't anything wrong with the place, but I just couldn't shake that it felt like every other nicer chain restaurant (think Champps). We came here for Dinner on a long weekend, not the best plan as the place was chockers and we spent 30 mins waiting for a table. Once we were seated though, everything was fairly quick. Although not sure why the wait was so long when the area we were seated in was half empty. We ate the Calamari which came with Tzasiki which was a big serving for one person as an appetizer. For Mains we had a Chicken, Brie and Fig Sandwich and a Smashed Burger. Both were good although the Chicken Sandwich I think would have been better with Cranberry rather than Fig Paste, both also came with a decent serving of fries. We also had a Strawberry Crumble for dessert which was very good. Overall service was decent but could have been better, food came out quickly and it only cost us $75 for a beer and 3 courses between us. And yes, every server in this place is dressed in something short, tight and black so expect to get an eyeful even if you don't want to. read more

So I was in Whistler, Canada for the first time ever (I already miss the place... amazing!) and was starving. My buddies and I decided to check out this place called Earl's on a recommendation from the only one among us that had been there before. Upon walking in I was happy to see that the decor was simple and tasteful. This is a good sign. We then ordered the food. We had a few appetizers like the Chicken Wings (outstanding) and Spinach Dip (also good). I got the cheeseburger and was disappointed that apparently Canadian Law mandates hamburgers to be done well(done). That sucks, because as a meat eater, I know that meat loses flavor (those tender juices) as it is cooked. I took one for the team and went ahead anyway. The burger was not bad... not great... but not bad. Our beers were very good though and I think that they probably helped with the taste of the burger. We went back our last night there (not my call) and I ordered the Mediterranean Pasta. Oh God, if there's a word for nasty in Canada, I want to learn it and engrave that on the plate I was served this monstrosity on. Do not get this no matter what you do. Some of my friends got the steak and that seemed to fare better. But for the Mediterranean Pasta crap, I would have probably given this place three stars. I would give them 4 stars, but it took 45 minutes for what was supposedly a 20 minute wait time. There were unused tables and people waiting had taken note and complained loudly about that. Maybe they're understaffed, I don't know. Food was great, service once seated was fantastic. Beer is okay, if you're a craft brew snob it's very very very light beer, I destroyed the first pint in a couple gulps, it was like tea. Very good accommodating kids and a massive stroller. I really appreciate the wait staff. The wings are tiny but very good, the fries and sweet potato fries are fantastic. The fennel salad was really good. I have recently just visited this restaurant and there food is SOOO good however there service is not as enjoyable. For example we lost an earring when we had dinner and when back and asked for it the next day. My son went in and asked for it. He waited for ten minutes and then my daughter had to go in another ten minutes past forced me to go inside we finally got the lost earring after probably 25 minutes of waiting and waiting and they didn't even have many costumers. Another thing is that they took 2 hours to make our dinner and by the time it came almost all the kids were dead asleep. read more

Atmosphere: The ambiance is almost exactly the same as Joey's (a hip trendy restaurant/bar in Seattle with dark lighting, lots of plasma screens, a nice big bar, plenty of booths and big tables for large groups, and lots and lots of young, attractive female servers. Upbeat music is playing most of the time, so don't expect a very quiet dinner. Also, there are lots of types of people here...some just wanting a burger and beer after work, groups of rowdy young males hitting on the servers, couples trying to have a nice dinner alone, families with obnoxious kids, etc. It was really crowded on a Friday night, we were told to wait for 30 mins, but it only took us about 8 minutes to get a table. When we left at 8pm, it was extremely crowded. Service: Our server was mediocre...nothing she did could be considered "poor" in terms of service, yet she never really tried to make our experience enjoyable. She took our orders promptly, and brought us our drinks from the bar relatively quickly. However, it wasn't until about 20 minutes after sitting down that she brought us water (and she seemed slightly annoyed that we asked). Also, I got the impression that she was annoyed because I asked her for balsamic and soy sauce through our meals (and the wine menu again). I realize that I had a bunch of little requests, but if she ever stopped to ask us if we 'needed anything' then it would have saved her time in the end. Also, she never asked us how our meal was until we were near the end. Food: I had the tuna/salmon sushi roll off of the appetizer menu (had 10 large pieces so it was plenty of food), my girlfriend had the penne chicken alfredo, and we shared the rosemary pan flatbread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Sad that they don't offer bread for free with the meal =( The tuna/salmon roll was quite good as it also had shrimp tempura in it. The tuna/salmon which was wrapped around the rice was quite thin, so don't expect a lot of raw fish on these. Overall, the ratios were decent of rice/avocado/shrimp tempura/tuna/salmon....but I would have liked to see thicker slices of the main event. Also, it came with a wasabi and chipotle drizzle but no soy sauce or wasabi paste....hence one of my requests. My girlfriend had the penne chicken alfredo which was extremely good. It had just the right balance of cream, garlic, and cheese. No flavor overpowered the other, and I found myself picking off stray penne's that escaped my girlfriend's fork throughout the meal. The rosemary bread was filling but forgettable. It comes in a square roughly 5 x 5 inches. It was very soft and spongy, but tasted like bread with a slight herb twist.. Honestly, I would have expected this to come with the meal for free, and it was hardly worth paying for. The bread at Macaroni Grill is far, far better. I had a Gallo Cab Sauv which was quite tasty, full bodied and a powerful taste. My girlfriend had the Raspberry Crush martini which was phenomenal (and I don't even like fruity drinks). It tasted like I was drinking from a giant raspberry (that's how fresh it was!) with little bits of raspberry at the bottom to round it out. Price: The sushi roll was $13 (pretty good price for the size of the roll and compared to the sushi in the village which clocks in at $15+ per roll) and I believe was a fair price. The penne alfredo was $14 + $3 for chicken...a bit on the pricey side for it being a simple pasta with chicken...but it is Whistler, so I'll let it slide. The rosemary bread (read: should be complimentary) was close to $4. Overall we escaped with a $75 tab, which isn't too bad considering most places in Whistler have a $25-$40 price range per plate. Bottomline: Great drinks, good but not excellent food, affordable sit down restaurant, a price you can swallow (in Whistler). read more

This is one of my favorite places in Whistler. We hung out in lieu of skiing today and had the chicken tacos which were delish and the chicken tender (two orders they were so good, so says my son). It seemed like we saw Earls a lot in Vancouver. When we saw Earls at Whistler Village, it was a sign for us to try the place out. We waited for about 20 minutes to get seated. The place was lively and it had an outdoor seating area, which we did not try since it was cool that night. The hostess was really friendly and so was the server. Food Baby calamari w/tzatziki sauce: pieces were cut too small but was okay Caesar salad: lettuce and dressing were very good Clam chowder, caesar salad and bread: clam chowder was excellent and had a lot of clams and the broth was good. The bread wasn't bad but they charged us for asking for oil and vinegar. Prawn and scallop linguine: Wasn't bad but wasn't the best we had. Garlic bread: never came Service: was rather slow. Our server was nice but the food took forever to come to our table. It seemed like we waited for our main entree at least 15 to 20 minutes after we had our appetizer. Don't get me wrong, the food is actually quite good, and the service and atmosphere is as well. I'm giving it a 3 mostly because of the value. It's overpriced, and staying in Whistler, you'll find everything is expensive. First, the setting is a medium sized hall in a natural brown theme, dim but warm lighting, a cozy but lively feel. The music is a playlist of common pop hits, balanced volume. I started with buffalo cauliflower, then to steak and sushi(tataki style medium, and spicy tuna roll), and finished with their chocolate sundae. The steak was a bit overcooked for medium, and the roll wasn't fully sealed, but other than that everything tasted good. I feel like I know what t expect from Earls. Generally Earls seem to think its pretty fancy, but really its just a.n.other chain restaurant with the same menu irrespective of location or season. The food generally is good, not amazing, but good. Rather what you expect from a large chain restaurant targeting that market. As a rule it is overpriced, but about what you expect. Beers are own-brand and a bit sh#! I find Whistler Earls to be below the standard of most Earls. The food is not as good, and the service slow. read more
