We visited this place for the first time. It's a very nicely decorated restaurant that has some nice bird paintings! The breakfast was very good as was their customer service level. We ordered some chilaquiles and they were very authentic, as you would expect to find in Mexico and perhaps you could just ask for more sauce, onion and sour cream to make you feel at home. Enjoyed our first visit to Early Bird Cafè this afternoon. We were a little shocked it wasn't packed but we did come after the lunch rush so there was plenty of seating. My husband polished off his Classic Sunrise and I had the Garden Omelet. Unfortunately the vegetables were not sautéed enough, the zucchini was still hard and almost raw. We did absolutely LOVE the potatoes! The biscuits and sourdough were a little dry but hoping it was just part of the new cafe kinks. The service was okay, nothing to be excited about but our server was nice, we just had to ask twice for drink refills. We're excited to return after EB gets a few of the kinks out. read more

Favorite Breakfast Place Have eaten here for breakfast three times and each time it was outstanding. Very clean, bright decor and a unique menu males this a must try. I am very partial to the crab cake Benedict and the last time we were in they offered a real good lemon curd pancake. They also offer a nice specialty coffee menu. Please ignore any bad reviews Early Bird Cafe has from when they opened. None of those issues mentioned were a problem when I went yesterday morning for Breakfast. I had their Classic Sunrise Bowl with Beef bacon and it tasted great! I would add more cheese to it but it was great highly recommend it. My friends had the omelettes with extra beef bacon & Waffles. Their food tasted great too. The service was great, had no issues with it at all, it did take some time for the food to arrive but they were busy and everything tastes fresh so not a big deal, this isn't some crappy McDonalds breakfast. I will definitely come here again, definitely one of my favorite breakfast places in Houston. The price to serving size ratio is great as well so you will get your money's worth. read more

I was looking forward to the early bird café opening, it was a good location for me to stop for breakfast early in the morning. On my way to a couple of places during the week. I ordered my first breakfast for pick up from there this morning. I ordered two eggs over easy, they were rockhard with the bottom of the eggs completely burnt. The homemade sausage that they are so proud of might as well have been two small hamburger patties, I've had hamburger with more seasoning then what is in these supposed sausage patties. If I could give zero stars I would. We walked in at 10:15, restaurant was relatively empty. We waited almost 30 min to be seated. We were seated and immediately gave our order (drinks and food). We didn't get our drinks for another 25min. After another 20 min our waitress said our food should be another 15-20 min. We waited that and then she came back and said the same thing. Still no food. After another 20 min finally someone else came out and told us that they hadn't even started cooking our meal and recommended we go somewhere else. We were 2 adults and 2 kids walking into the restaurant for the first time. We felt like we were walking into a great atmosphere. The place was new and had an open concept, which was a nice vibe. Overall, the service was good. However, we did order coffee but were not offered any refills. Most breakfast restaurants are good about refilling on coffee. The food did not at all meet expectations and didn't have a "wow" factor, like most mom-and-pops do. It was like going to an IHOP or Denny's, except more expensive. All of our dishes were lukewarm and flavorless. Below are the dishes we ordered today. Not necessarily a *bad* experience but the food is really not that good and it's over priced. I was very excited since I've heard amazing things, but the service was not attentive at all and the food was extremely bland. Our server rarely checked on our table and said they would be able to get us refills but we never got any refills. We were looking for where our server was since we hadn't been checked on for a while. For the food, our table ordered both savory and sweet dishes. The sweet dish was decent but not outstanding. Snooze would be a better option for sweet breakfast/brunch. The savory dish had no flavor or seasoning even adding salt or hot sauces didn't help much. Also there were items listed on the menu as a part of a dish that was missing when we received the item. The last thing that stuck out was the music that they had playing in the back. It was a horrible choice for a restaurant. They had SLOW soft vocal songs playing, similar to "The Marias", "Lana Del Rey" , and "Cigarettes After Sex". These styles just ended up sounding like random disturbing noises. It's definitely not proper music for the environment since you are only able to hear certain sounds like the beat and some of the low humming vocals, which was throwing off the whole experience. Our entire group agreed that it was not pleasant to listen to. But again, wasn't a BAD experience, but I would not recommend over the other options for brunch and we definitely will not be coming again. read more

So main reason why I gave a 3 star was because food was decent... came out hot & fresh. And they fixed issue with our order asap. We got the BIRRIA grilled cheese. 7.5/10 Banana beak pancakes. 7.2/10 The Basic breakfast plate. 8/10 I will give them another shot, they are still new.
