I want to share what a great experience we had purchasing our new RAV4 from Earnhardt Toyota. We went through the Costco auto program, and Brian Kimball from the dealership contacted us almost immediatley to set up an appointment for us. Upon our arrival, he went over what we were looking for, and guided us through the buying process. When Earnhardt did not have in inventory what we sought, he scoured the local dealerships and found what we decided upon. Due to the ongoing supply chain issues and manufacturing, we didn't get the color we wanted, but are very pleased with the vehicle overall. We've bought a lot of vehicles over the years, and Toyota's customer service has always been top notch (this is our 6th Toyota). Took my vehicle in this morning to have it serviced. I asked the writer I have used for 10 plus years if the would match a 10k mile service price from another local dealership. He stated that he would and I left him my keys and entered the waiting area. Shortly after he came into the waiting area with another employee who stated they could not price match. He informed me that synthetic oil is very expensive and they were not willing to honor the other dealers price. I asked him if he was willing to lose all of my service business plus any vehicles I purchase in the future? He stated that he was. It should be noted that the vehicle for serviced was purchased with this dealership. We are in the market for another 4Runner but it will not be purchased here. Nobody loves buying a car... but this place was phenomenal. My husband and I spent the better part of a business day at this dealership reviewing our options and asking hundreds of questions. We knew what we wanted in a new (or new-to-us) vehicle, but weren't sure what our credit would make possible for us. Literally everyone we spoke to was patient, kind, and helpful, through our hundreds of questions and concerns, even when halfway through the process we threw a wrench in the works by restarting the entire purchase process with a completely different vehicle. My husband ended up making the tough decision to trade in his very loved truck for a more practical car for our family, and Earnhardt took the sting out a little bit by giving him a very fair value for his trade-in. Lester went above and beyond out of his way for us, helping us understand our financial options and went to bat for us to get us a deal we felt comfortable with. I REALLY appreciated that he was clear, realistic, and blunt. Mike from sales assisted my husband in choosing the color and model he wanted, and pulled that vehicle in record time-- have you seen the size of their garage?-- so we could get home and get some sleep, having worked all night the night before. Brought in my Toyota Corolla because check engine light was on, they said it was the gas cap- 128$ for diagnostic plus the cap. My Corolla gets great gas mileage work from home I fill up only once twice a month. I went to fill my tank and the pump shuts off every 1 second took 15 minutes to fill. This happened twice never had this occurring prior to them serving;Called this to tell them they messed up my car can't fill the tank and they want to charge me diagnostic AGAIN AND REPAIR for what they broke! Salesman were nice, and dealership seemed good. Although after I finalized all my paperwork apparently accounting isn't familiar with working with credit unions and made a huge 'clerical' error which messed up all my loan paperwork. I found myself months later on hold with the bank for almost an hour trying to fix the mistakes made by the dealership and will now have to refinance my Loan. Even after explaining in painful detail to the finance manager how my bank was working the loan they still managed to mess it all up. And even after their mess up, their corporate controller has the audacity to attack me for the mistake made by their own team. Would recommend finding a dealership with more experienced finance staffing that will process loans and paperwork right the first time so you don't find yourself having to fix it for them. read more

Took my 2018 Toyota 86 in for its first service today. When the car was done they pulled it out, and after Adrian "washed" it, the car was still partially wet, and what was dry was still dirty. I personally drove my car back to detail, and watched them clean it. Derrick wiped the quarter panel , and the rag was already dirty. Not sure what Adrian did, wasn't happy with it at all, but Derrick detailed it for me and it looked better when he was done than it did when I bought it 4 months ago. read more

Recently bought a access can with warranty and a $5,000 deposit and filled out all paperwork then was convinced and persuaded from the manager to get a warranty and now I'm upside down on the truck for only having it for 4months. This was the first time I visted this dealership and I was definitely not impressed. Maybe it was just the service advisor I was assigned to but it left me with a negative experience and extremely poor image of this dealership which is unfortunate as I live about two miles away. When I took my Highlander in for service I explained the issue and the advisor quoted me $700 to $1500 to repair. After I questioned the price he got on his computer and told me $600. So..... if I would not have questioned the price would I have been charged the $700 to $1500? I called that afternoon to see if my vehicle was ready for pick up. I was told it would be in 5 minutes. I got there 40 minutes later and was first told they were waiting on paperwork then told they are finishing up the repair work right now. I waited over an hour for my vehicle that I was told over the phone would be ready when I arrived. read more

Made an appointment 2 weeks in advance and for 7:30 am. Brought it in there on time and my wife picked me up. At 4:00 pm, they called and said they had no answer for me yet and can they keep it overnight. I said no, because I need the car to go to work tomorrow. Get there and wouldn't you know it, they just moved it about 20 ft. and left it there all day. The rep didn't even try to b.s. me, he just said they were busy. Well one, I am busy too as a lot of people and two, don't make an appointment you can't keep. Clearly they don't give a crap about their customer's time or inconveniences. I'll start off by saying I bought my car here because I usually get treated great and the service in the service area is always good. I kind of felt like my salesman John Black didn't really listen to me. And what I wanted. They were not able to get me anywhere close to the payment I wanted and he seemed quite disinterested. I wish I different salesperson would have greeted me and thereby help me through my exciting brand new car purchase. That being said I I have had a great experience here the majority of the time I have come. There was an issue I realized two weeks after I bought my car. It was brought to the attention of Joanna the customer service supervisor. And she was able to help me come to a resolution that kind of worked for both of us. They were willing to help and resolve my concerns. That speaks highly about Earnhardt and their desire to help make things right. I wish I knew his name because he immediately made me feel at ease. Then Devon B, told me that he would have to keep it for a bit to determine the problem. Everyday I swore I saw $ flying out the window but, what do ya do we need a car. Devon called me and informed me that he found a service by Toyota that would repair this at NO cost - WHAT !!! I literally cried. How could this be ? He explained the part, repair and how the Toyota program worked. Upon pick up, INDEED the bill was PAID for. Whitney helped me check out and she was SO kind and helpful ( not sure I believe that earlier review) that girl is very kind and has a great smile !! Being an Air Force Veteran, I meet another Veteran from Earnhardt Toyota. When it came time to buy the Toyota 4Runner I, I called. I ordered my 2021 4Runner, waiting over 3 weeks delivery. The first problem came when I later found out they did not apply the deposit to the down payment. They sold me a Remote start, the real problems began... The 2021 4Runner Limited, automatically came with Toyota Connect and remote start is part of the package, not disclosed. We agreed to swap out the remote start for the alarm system. Waited 5 hours. Was told "If it doesn't work, call Toyota Technical Support to reset the system". The front bumper was protruding away from the fenders of the vehicle. They repaired per a prior year service bulletin, it is still noticeable. Their answer, that's the best we can do.. The factory Remote Start did not work. The alarm was installed by drilling holes into my lower dash and it rattled under my dash. Informed by Toyota Technical support after market remote starters and alarm systems would interfere with Toyota Connect. Believe it or not, it gets worse. Because of all of the above, I received a questionnaire to review how my service experience had gone. I was honest, explained the situation and gave them a 3 star review. I probably should have waited, I did not realize that there would be a possible situation of retaliation for anything less than a 5 star review. Everything appeared ok when I picked up my vehicle. Later, because the vehicle did not feel right as I drove it, after having it checked out by someone else, I found out the service deparment put the maximum amount of air pressure in the tires, which made it ride like a tank. Of course, in an extreme case it could be dangerous, but mostly a retaliatory stunt. I later found out the alarm did not work properly, this is after I was told by the dealership service department that Toyota Technical support was wrong and the alarm would work properly and the Toyota Technical support just didn't want any aftermarket parts installed on the vehicle. Come to find out Toyota Technical Support was actually being truthful and the dealership was not. I called and went back and forth with one of the managers, who offered to buy back the vehicle at what I paid for it. Unfortunately, this was not an option for the following reasons... they would not reimburse the taxes, the tags, or the $3500 I paid to get a clear wrap on the vehicle to protect the paint, much less the cost of the remote start/alarm. I had someone inspect the vehicle, because if they were willing to do this type of thing, what else? I found out the running boards were bent underneath where I wouldn't notice. A ding was put in the running board. Another thing they probably don't know is that the 2021 4Runner Limited tracks trips and scores how the vehicle is driven. On the day I left my vehicle at the dealership it was driven with a score of "13". On my most aggressive drive, I received a "72". I saved the 2 trips that were recorded for the day and time it was at the dealership. This could be confirmed with the rental car agreement for the times it was out of my possession. The cowl under the windshield had been pulled out, under the windshield wiper, where I wouldn't notice. I hope they did not do anything else that would endanger my family's safety in any way? The first Earnhardt bad car buying experience was when I ordered a new F350 Super Duty pickup, which was delivered in the evening as the sun was setting, later to find that the door had been damaged and repainted, no disclosures. UPDATE: See my original review below for reference. I had the opportunity to speak with Joe from Earnhardt Toyota and we discussed some of my concerns and issues I originally experienced. Joe was extremely apologetic and recognized that there were some areas that the ball was dropped. We exchanged some dialogue for about 15-20 minutes or so and I'm happy to say that I no longer have regrets with my purchase from this dealership. I have nothing but the utmost respect for how quickly my concerns were addressed and the priority that was set to address them. Living and working in central phoenix, I explained to Joe that I couldn't bring the truck in to get the tint and alarm until the weekend. It was actually JOE who offered to have one of his team members drive a loaner car to my work, exchange it with my truck, and drive the truck back to the dealership and then back to me when it's ready. This gesture alone shows me that this dealership extremely values the customers experience. Thank you Joe and Earnhardt Toyota for all of your help! By far the worst car buying experience ever. Actually, this was the worst big purchase experience I've ever had! I had just closed on my first home purchase and so I was thrilled to accompany that with a new car purchase. I was going to purchase a vehicle from Camelback Toyota, but I have a good friend who works for Earnhardt Lexus and he recommenced Earnhardt Toyota. I was under the impression that I was going to get a great, "no bull" deal since I was a referral from an Earnhardt employee. I wasn't looking to get a super cheap discount, but more so just hoping to not have to play the negotiation games. I was driven by an associate from Earnhardt Lexus from Phoenix all the way to Superstition Springs and was beyond thrilled (having just received my new house keys hours prior). Upon parking, the sales associates who were outside were extremely rude to myself and the Lexus representative. He was almost laughing in my face when I explained to him the price range I was hoping to stay in. The Lexus associate showed me around just so we could look at the inventory. We came back inside and before I knew it, I was talking numbers with a TOYOTA manager, not the Lexus employee who I was originally under the impression I was going to be speaking to. Not only that, but once again I felt I was being talked down to and had unrealistic expectations on what my price point was. I was very clear what my range was ($350-$425 per mo), and yet when I was brought back the numbers he came with $490 per month. It was then I knew that I was going to be put in a negotiation situation. Normally I don't mind, but I didn't do my prior research on pricing because I thought I was going to be getting a "No-Bull" deal. The best part was that when I stated I needed some more time, he "found a way" to drop the payment down to $418. Honestly, I was just rubbed the wrong way from them. I came here hoping to get straight forward pricing, but was given the typical run-around like any other dealership. To make matters worse, from start to finish I was there for over 4 hours. After the close of sale, I waited an hour for financing, and then another hour while under the impression that my car was being detailed. The Lexus representative I was with was confused and explored what the issue was only to find out that they had never even started on cleaning my vehicle! And of course it didn't even have all of the promised equipment (alarm and tint) that I was told it would have. So now I have to drive all the way back to this terrible dealership and work with them once again. Earnhardt Toyota in Mesa has treated me sooooo poorly.. they did damage to the running boards to the point that they had to be taken off... And first said it was rust, there was no rust then it will as ... I must have hit something... There was no other damage to the vehicle at all... There is even a plate under the motor that is 3 inches lower than the running boards and not a scratch on it... They pasted me on 3 times to 3 different men... Dalton was very helpful and attentive to my needs. The issue I had was at the cashier line. I waited and when I got up to cashier she did not have my paperwork. Another service tech had a customer who was in a hurry so moved me out of the way so his customer could be taken care of because they were in a hurry. I may have not been in a rush but my time is valuable as well and I had the joy of waiting in line twice! When Dalton brought the paperwork he pulled me out of line and took care of me. His actions are why I gave a five star rating! Just bought a new Prius for my wife. Bruce the sales associate was great. He took my wife on multiple test drives and handled the paper work quickly and efficiently. I beat him up on the pricing and finally made a compromise. This was the only place I would recommend to anyone for a Toyota vehicle purchase and repairs on their Toyota. Now after this first and last oil change at this dealership I will ensure that anyone that asks me about the quality of work performed by them, all I can say is I will not be recommending this dealership for any future services or vehicle purchases to anyone I know due to the lack of ownership in the work they do and for the waste of time and money consumed by their mistakes after my oil change went South very quickly and I had to install a new oil pan at this dealership while they were attempting to change my oil. This truck ran great and had minimal flaws before going in, and then the tab inflated from $94 the synthetic oil change price with their great inspection to $520. I could have paid for 5 years worth of synthetic oil changes had I avoided the service provided here. Lesson learned on my part. RIP-OFF! Fraudsters! We went in January to look for a car, agreed to everything, put a deposit, they'll let us know when our car comes in.... Didn't get the car until March, signed all the papers, etc. Low and behold - we just got our plates from MVD and they expire in FEBRUARY. THEY WROTE THIS UP AS A JAN. SALE (for a car they didn't even have) TO BENEFIT THEM & WE GOT 11 month plates! Old friend is a senior VP for Chrysler in Detroit- told us NEVER to go to Earnhardt's but gave no details. Well lets start with the pros. When I first came I was impressed by the waiting area. Lots of couches, even reclining ones, television, complimentary drinks and even a couple of donuts I did not take advantage of. Cons: I waited nearly 20 mins to be helped which ran into my appointment and I came on time at 10:00am. Nonetheless I overlooked that once friendly staff started helping me. I was given a brief tour and about 10 minutes after my car was taken for diagnostic a shuttle took me home. Unfortunately there were many things (which I predicted) that needed attention. $12,000 worth of repairs (grabs heart and faints). Not an issue. I was grateful they ran diagnostic and washed my vehicle even though i CHOSE to not have my vehicle serviced there. I guess my issue is that it took nearly a WHOLE ENTIRE DAY. From about 10am until 3:30pm just to run diagnostic and an hour of employees telling me my car was "going through the wash." Also, I had taken my daughter there to wait with me for an hour where I promised her a snack from the snack machine which didn't take my card (I tried several cards several ways) When I told the staff they shrugged and said they couldn't do anything about it. I bought a 2006 Highlander here a week ago today, picked it up the next day. I liked the sales guy. I had been talking with him off and on for the last six months. I told him once that sooner or later he was going to sell me a car. The car drives great, only 55,000 miles, one owner, no accidents. Clean car fax. Paint is a little rough, but that's a Toyota thing. Interior almost like new. Been driving it to work and some random errands, so racked up maybe 300 miles or so. Yesterday, Sunday, running errands the check engine and the VSC lights came on. So here I am in the back of the courtesy transportation van with four others who've dropped their vehicles off for service. Guy told me they would need my car all day since I didn't have an appointment. So much for the "60-Point Inspection" they run it through prior to turning it over to me. I bought a Tacoma from Earnhardt in January of 2020. I traded in a vehicle and was going back and forth to negotiate a deal. I had hoped to get the best deal possible based on my circumstances. I could go into all the details, but would rather just go straight to the outcome. Instead of advising me to go to the bank and secure finances ( I could have secured an interest rate of 3.14 % based on my credit,) they were in such a hurry to make the deal, they advised me the best rate I could get was 5.04 %. Bottom line, obviously I should have gone to the bank first. You would hope while negotiating a deal the dealership would give you the best advice to get the best deal, having the customers best interest as the primary concern. Looking back do I take responsibility for my part, of course. Moving forward I will never buy another vehicle from these greedy folks again. read more

They don't add any extra bs fees or extra packages to boost the price. They went off MSRP and my salesperson Cort Blackwell was so patient, personable, and responsive that my first-time buying experience was smooth and clear-cut. I was afraid of being scammed because of how simple the process was, but Cort went above and beyond as a salesman person, and I truly recommend him to anyone looking to buy a car. I have some issues with this particular location before, but since they mostly minor, I decided to give them another chance when it came to the purchase of a new vehicle. Sales people are always do friendly aren't they? No different here. They smile, offer you the world (at a cost of course), and get you rolling in your new vehicle. That's where it ends. When you go back for service, that's where Customer Service ends. You are not greeted with a smile, a warm hello, or any modicum of friendly behavior. Their approach is: what do you want, and do you have an appointment. So as I informed them of the multiple alarms I am having going off on my vehicle that has just 3700 miles on it, I am told "oh that's normal, you must have been driving into the sun". Oh, but it doesn't end there... When I explain I was actually driving West at 9am and not driving into the sun, I am told "oh well that happens sometimes." So I get to listen to alarms going off on my truck at random times? Apparently so. Apparently the sensor in the camera malfunctions from time to time, and that's "normal", worse if I am driving towards the sun apparently. I am told that they are too busy to look at the vehicle today and they will need it for 24-36 hours. How do I get home or to work I ask, may I get a loaner? "No. Toyota doesn't do loaners, but you can call Enterprise rental car, they'll come pick you up." So spend $65K on a vehicle, including the purchase and accessories you added. Then when those accessories malfunction, you are told to kick rocks and wait 36 hours to get the vehicle back. Earnhardt Toyota, you kick rocks. I will NEVER recommend your company to anyone. read more
