Kudos to Toyota Service! I have a 2016 Prius, and my car battery dies (12 volt) I typically avoid dealerships are they are sooooo costly. However this time they came through. I called around and found that: 1 they had the best battery price and 2 the best warranty (Plus it's manufacture's battery) WIN WIN!! Then I needed it installed, at first I was quoted 1-2 hours. Once I finish my service, I don't think I'll be back to this location. They are always busy in the auto service department. Additionally after my service today, they tried to up sale me on a battery I didn't need. According to inspection, my battery failed. According to the auto zone inspection my battery received 100%. I took my car in for a service and the guy asked me if I needed an oil change. I told him I wasn't sure since I really have not driven my car around too much since COVID-19 happened and could not remember the exact date of when my oil was changed. I asked him if he could check to see if it was necessary to change and he told me, "We have no way of checking if you need an oil change if you did not get your car serviced at Toyota previously." I immediately thought to myself that is ridiculous you just pull the dipstick out and check the level and color to determine. You don't need for it to be in the system to check whether or not it needs a change it is a very basic skill as an auto mechanic. Since this did not sit well with me, I contacted the service department by phone to ask if this was part of their policy and they said it is NOT. I have family and friends who have worked in dealerships who quit because of shady practices and dishonesty so I am well aware it does happen and a lot of dealerships put quotas on their techs that promote these practices. Furthermore, I took my car home to realize that now when I turn my a/c car vents on from the top to bottom it comes out barely at the bottom and comes out of both top side vents as well for some reason which it was not doing previously before. It makes a whistling noise when switching vents almost like something is blocking it. I am extremely disappointed with the level of service I have received and will be upset if this issue is not remedied or am charged any further for diagnostics and repairs considering this was not an issue prior to me bringing it in and I have the paperwork from the inspection to state everything with my car was normal. I have my appointment to get this corrected on Monday, July 19th at 11 am with Steven. I switched service techs because I lost trust with the previous tech and am hoping for a better experience and to at least get the issue fixed. read more

I'll update once the transaction is complete and I have my new ride. It's been a long and excruciating journey with other dealerships. I actually thought Earnhardt would add to that problem, instead they resolved it! They gave us a fair out the door quote and they honored it to the cent when we came in. In fact, another dealership outright accused Earnhardt of adding on more fees once we get to the financing portion. There was none of that! My husband and I showed up after work and dealt with Kelly & Jon. Kelly took us on a quick test drive with what they had in stock and afterwards we sat down for maybe 10 minutes while they worked the numbers for our trade in. Well we made our deposit on the car! Kelly was straight to the point and even went as far as advising us of interim updates of the vehicle till gets in. I honestly don't think we were there for a full half hour! It's the way it should be! They never talked down other dealerships or did some feather fluffing. It was refreshing to know that at least some salesman and dealerships have evolved sales skills. Highly disappointed in Earnhardt Toyota Service. Made an appointment 2 weeks in advance for a wheel alignment and a new key fob. On the day I arrived, was told my service advisor was Mark. Sat there waiting for Mark. Got out of my car and found Mark joking around with a fellow employee while I was waiting. Once Mark decided to greet me he was curt and missing the basic values of "customer service". Mark went on ask me who ordered the new key fob? Told him I made an appointment with your service department indicating what I needed and I don't order parts. Further, I said that is your job to order parts, not mine. Why do I have to explain this to a car dealer's service department? He was smug and said he could get a new key fob by 2PM (this was at 7:45am). Went on to tell me that they needed the car all day (this was at 7:45am). Took all day for Mark and Earnhardt Toyota to do an alignment and to provide a new key fob when the appointment was made 2 weeks in advance. Was forced to rent a car instead of waiting for the service as I anticipated so I could get to work. Beyond that, when I made the appointment, I asked to speak to the service advisor. He was busy and left a vmail. Never hear back. Called again and spoke to someone and they apologized and said they would have him call me. Surprise surprise, never called me back. Ridiculous. This is the service I get after buying a vehicle from them that cost north of $80k. read more

DO NOT BUY A CAR IF YOUR FROM OUT OF STATE!!! Greedy dealership basically. Knew I was coming from California. They Made more money on this deal leaving me in a predicament to get a ticket and no insurance leading to license suspension over them making more money by messing up paperwork when purchasing a car. Since my sales tax is more than Arizona sales tax the overall out the door price we agreed on would be more once registered in California. I had walked away from deal when they told me that and they came back to me and said that they would pay the tax difference etc to make the deal happen. So they gave me the out the door price but registered it in Arizona. Then they agree to send me money to register in California. So I call them couple weeks after and mike Norman tells me they can pull a registration and hold it for 90 days- they only held it for roughly 12 days before pushing it through. Without calling me back to see what my decision was. Thieves now my license can get suspended and car can get impounded. read more

I had a gas door cable part replaced exactly a year ago (June 2022) and today is won't work again. I called Earnhardt Toyota to see if they would warranty the part to fix it and of course the warranty was only for a year so they would charge me another $170 just to look at it and then pay all over again to fix it. I finally speak to what sounds like the mechanic and was told for diagnostics, is an automatic $99. I know the door doesn't work. It's the lock. So you quote me a pricetag of a hundred dollars, to decide which specific problem it is before charging me parts and labour. Thanks for giving me a minimum price buddy. I don't appreciate not having a cap to what you would charge me. I also don't want to pay $100 and you fix nothing. Sounds like highway robbery. Most places offer a free diagnostics, see, it's free because they want your business. Original manufacturer businesses don't care. It's clear they don't want me. They responded! So their grease monkey couldn't bother to tell me the few would be waived. Kind of important don't you think? Super shady. Next time start with a waivable diagnostics fee. Instead of never quoting me typical problems for doors. Not giving me a total cost to replace the whole door worst case scenario. read more

We have a 2020 Tundra Double Cab and researched various lift and tire options with installers. Earnhardt Toyota in Mesa, Arizona accessories manager Benjamin Friedman was knowledgeable and patient. My fiance wanted to purchase it for Christmas 2021, but due to supply constraints, it was delayed. Initially, we wanted the 3" Bilstein 6112s for the front and rear 5160s with Ad-Leaf and stock rims with 35" tires, but the lead time was over 30 days. Ben assisted with extensive research providing package options, pricing and answering our questions. We were very specific with many concerns from our research and feedback from the Tundra community. For example, he had to balance function for a daily driver, light off-roading, moderate hauling without rear sagging, and no tire rubbing or body mount chopping. Eventually, we chose the ICON front 3" Coil-Over 2.5" shock body lift, rear 2" shock body, Ad-Leaf, ICON Tubular UCAs, with stock TRD 18" rims wrapped in 35" Toyo Open Country tires. Also, 1.5" Spider Trax spacers had to be installed due to slight rubbing with wheels at full lock. The rubbing was not expected at first and resolved using wheel spacers. Although not a fan of wheel spacers, it gave a nice visual stance. Also, according to several sources, the stress on wheel bearings would be similar to running wheels with an offset. Therefore, I did not see the point in spending extra for wheels that may get scratched and ding on a trail. Additional benefits of purchasing through Earnhardt Toyota Mesa are future assistance with warranty claims and a Certified Toyota Technician for service. Ben Friedman provided superior customer service throughout the process: parts tracking and updates, coordinated the installation and assisted with acquiring a rental vehicle. In the past, I purchased a few vehicles from Earnhardt Mesa (Carolla and two Tacomas), but due to poor quality sales, service, and parts accessories received took the business to a competitor dealership. Ben Friedman and his team (Scott Talbert) went above and beyond the level of service expected. As a result, they regained a customer on the service side and may have an opportunity on sales. I would warn everyone about the process that this business takes when selling a vehicle to someone. I went to purchase a vehicle last week with the intention that this vehicle is ready to go. I get there and am told that they do not check vehicles for major issues until AFTER the buying process. This is a total bait and switch but goes one step above by running my credit and even further, taking my down payment. I know because after looking back he tried to sell me vehicles double the price when I told him this is the exact vehicle I have been looking for. They then proceed to keep the vehicle and send it to the shop where they will find a major issue. They again try to sell me a vehicle double to price because they claim they already have my money. This is not ethical business. I should have noticed the red flags. Even the fleet guy was had a bad sense of humor telling me I was wasting his time while I was on the phone getting the info he needed. I noticed on my receipt (unfortunately, after I had already gotten home) that they had used conventional oil instead of synthetic oil as my plan code indicates. I had gotten different quotes from different Toyota dealerships around Phoenix area. Earnhardt gave the cheapest quote for a RAV4 LE. We also recommended our friends here. One paid with cash so the RAV4 LE most basic was 23.4K OUT THE DOOR (taxes, license registration already included in that price). Since I didn't have enough cash, I used the 0% interest option and only pay $408 each month for a RAV4 LE with the accessory bar on top, just 24.5K. Although it did take sometimes to deal but the experience was better than in other dealerships so I give 5 stars. Took my vehicle in this morning to have it serviced. I asked the writer I have used for 10 plus years if the would match a 10k mile service price from another local dealership. He stated that he would and I left him my keys and entered the waiting area. Shortly after he came into the waiting area with another employee who stated they could not price match. He informed me that synthetic oil is very expensive and they were not willing to honor the other dealers price. I asked him if he was willing to lose all of my service business plus any vehicles I purchase in the future? He stated that he was. It should be noted that the vehicle for serviced was purchased with this dealership. We are in the market for another 4Runner but it will not be purchased here.
