Located in the back corner of a strip mall, came hungry and left a little hungry. There is a large menu at the front door so one can peruse and move to the cashier when ready. The catfish was cooked in finer cornmeal than I've had previously. It was tasty, though the pieces were on the small side. There was a help-yourself drink counter so you can help yourself to the Coke products. The floor is slippery. There are signs telling you to watch your step. I'm from south Louisiana so I tend to judge hard on fried seafood, but I thought the fish and shrimp was fried perfectly. The garlic fries were also delicious. Was not a fan on any level of the boudin balls or the hush puppies. They both lacked flavor and the filling in the boudin balls was too mooshy. Based on reviews we tried this restaurant. Catfish and shrimp were great. Very clean and nice place. I had a po-boy shrimp sandwich. I suggest heating the bread. It would greatly improve the ability for a person to eat it. Hubby had the catfish. He commented he wished the fries were homemade. You want find cloth napkins, fancy eating utensils, etc. What you find is great authentic Gulf Coast style seafood and very hospitable service in a casual dining atmosphere. Good reviews are well deserved. Stopped for lunch and had shrimp/catfish combo with slaw and rice. Breading was light and crisp flaky on both. Had homemade recipe slaw that was fresh and sweet along with grandmothers tartar sauce. Rice was basic but the garlic fries were decadent and never met a non greasy healthy for you French fry. Owners Mom stopped by table and ensured all was good and shared her sons story. Place located in strip mall with basic order at counter and food brought out to Your table. We were a couple of out-of-towners from Southern California and we'd heard Arkansas is known for good catfish and this place did not disappoint! We ordered the baskets with catfish, hush puppies, coleslaw and fried okra (okra is $1 extra, but it was worth it!). They also provide a tartar sauce that is creamy and tastes a little different (in a good way) from the clumpy tarter sauce I usually turn my nose up at. They also provide lemon wedges (a MUST on catfish) and this super tasty "Willie Dust Cajun Seasoning" you can sprinkle on top. The catfish was lightly battered and so tender, it just melted in our mouths and was gone from our basket all too soon. The coleslaw was also super yummy. The service was great. Gary, the manager (I think), noticed that we were not from around these parts. He came over to our table and chatted with us for awhile. Real friendly guy. Gary & his team at Eat My Catfish were a fantastic help. We were looking to get fresh/live crawfish for a boil over Memorial Day Weekend and they delivered (literally)!! We weren't able to make it from LR to Benton in time to pick up our order, so Kyle from the Benton store loaded up nearly 60lbs and delivered them to our friends house within 30 mins. Went to the NLR location and it was dirty inside, they had areas blocked off with chairs and the front ice machine wasn't working so we had to go to the back side of the restaurant that was blocked off to get ice. Then we had to request forks and cocktail sauce, ketchup, Tatar sauce and butter for corn on the cob. By the time all condiments slowly arrived, food was getting soft and cold. We've been coming here for years and have been long time fans. However, it's really gone downhill recently. Went last night and it was dirty, the floor was sticky and filthy, there were visible bugs; they were out of tarter sauce and sweet tea and wouldn't replace it; the kitchen and staff were sloppy and disorganized: they kept getting our order wrong and forgetting things and it took us basically our whole trip and several asks to get it right. Surprisingly, the food was good except for the boudin balls which tasted rancid and were full of oil. The staff seemed like all teenagers who didn't care and were unsupervised. I hope the management can turn this around because we've always loved supporting a local place with good crawfish! read more

After recently moving back to Benton from California I had a strong craving for catfish. My sister took me to Eat My Catfish. I thought the name was a bit hokey but cute. After walking in they had a large menu but I was there for the catfish. I had the 3 piece with Okra and potatoes. I have to say the fish was perfect. I enjoyed every bite and considered getting more to go but since I now live in town I can go anytime. The staff was wonderful and friendly. I almost forgot how people in the south are so respectful and say "yes sir" and "thank you". I will be going back often! read more
