After recently moving back to Benton from California I had a strong craving for catfish. My sister took me to Eat My Catfish. I thought the name was a bit hokey but cute. After walking in they had a large menu but I was there for the catfish. I had the 3 piece with Okra and potatoes. I have to say the fish was perfect. I enjoyed every bite and considered getting more to go but since I now live in town I can go anytime. The staff was wonderful and friendly. I loved coming here but tonight was a terrible experience and I don't think I'll be back. There's nothing like working a 12 hour shift, 9 months pregnant with the craving of crawfish only to be told after waiting a hour for our food that they were out of crawfish and closed. Stopped for lunch after church on Sunday. This place. Is one of the best kept Sunday dining options in Benton. It's hidden at the end of a shopping center and doesn't stand out from the street. You order an pay at the central register and find is delivered to your table. Self-serve on the beverages, sauces and silverware. We had the Shrimp and Catfish plate. It came with 2 sides: BBQ beans, fries, Cole slaw, or pickled green tomatoes. The shrimp were battered and cooked until just done. That left the batter a little less than crispy. The catfish was a different story. They use fillets that are cooked just to done, leaving the inside tender and hot with a crispy bite to the breading. Although you won't need it, try Mawmaw's tartar sauce with anything. Creamy, slightly spicy and flavorful, it will enhance anything served including the hush puppies! We were there doing a Cajun week and had the Boudin Ball appetizer. Nice and light, with the tasty boudin. It was served with a sriracha coleslaw that added the spice back to the mild boudin. They offer a variety of fried ]IED as dessert. We were glad that we did not get any as we would have been too full after the big meal we'd eaten! read more

My favorite place to go if you want a bunch of kids cooking your food and letting it sit until it's soggy and cold. Went to get fresh food and watched him literally get more already soggy food from under a heat lamp.... Second time to go and try it with the same results. The review is for the Benton location only. Without a doubt the worst meal of my life. The exhaust vent in the kitchen was broken which filled the place with choking, eye burning smoke. There was not one cube of ice anywhere and the drinks were served hot. Our orders were all wrong. (I would have guessed at least one order to be right, but no). We ate outside on the patio in the heat to get away from the smoke and it was hot. I will never go back there again. read more

I hate to be hard on this place because the restaurant was clean and the staff was very friendly. However, the catfish was soggy and rather tasteless. When I think of fried catfish, I expect it to be crunchy with a nice batter. You couldn't even pickup the pieces that I received because they would just sag and fall apart. That would have been OK if the taste would have knocked me out but they were almost tasteless. You HAD to add tartar sauce and lemon just to get something out of it. DON'T DO IT! Not one person working was 19, and we had to wait for them to stop horsing around and find someone to take our order. It was 7pm on a Thursday, and we had our food at our table before we got our self serve drinks. This was not fresh and the fries were cold. The sides were out of a can and three teaspoons in size. YES, mindblown on the catfish here. Nicely breaded with flaky chunks of catfish deep fried in batter. The crawfish was pretty decent, but I think they weren't in full season yet. The hush puppies were interesting but I wasn't a big fan of it. The wife and I ordered the "Try it all" combo and expected, from the menu description, to get more than enough for the both of us. We were wrong. We ordered online and after waiting the appropriate amount of time went to pickup our order. We had to wait an additional 10 or so minutes because they were finishing up the chicken. When we got the order home and opened it up we were disappointed. The chicken was small pieces and cold. One decent size piece of fish the other was small. We stopped in to place a to go order last Friday (10/29/21). We placed an order, my husband Went to the restroom and I had a seat at a nearby table. He returned and commented how nasty it was. The large glass window, beside the girl who took our order, was broken and not safe. We got home with the fish/shrimp dinner the shrimp was good but the rest of the food was less than desirable. We had to put the okra in our air fryer to finish cooking and crisp it, it was soggy and not completely cooked. Stopped here on a business trip. I got the chicken, shrimp, and catfish combo with fries and coleslaw. The catfish was excellent! The chicken was good, but I prefer my chicken strips to be crunchy. I wasn't a fan of the tartar sauce. It was more like thick mayonnaise with Cajun seasoning. The fried chocolate pie was just okay. I didn't know the pies were fried, so I would recommend getting the fruit pies instead. But I would definitely recommend Eat My Catfish! Great, friendly service. read more

It was decent. It seems that it's hit or miss with the Benton location. I placed an order online at 1:10pm and it was scheduled to be ready by 1:40. We pull up at 1:40 and it took some real effort to check in through the link provided via text. I had to sign in again and get a new phone code and then I had to click the link a second time so I was signed in to be able to check in. It wasn't very convenient. Once I checked in, it took about 7 min before a young man came out to ask if we had an online order to pick up. I gave him my name and he said he'd bring it out when it was ready. This was about 1:50 and they close at 2. Anyway, he was prompt and brought our food right out. I ordered 2 kids meals, fried green tomatoes and a crawfish poboy. Online, it said the kids meals could get double hush puppies or a different side and it had side options. That made me believe that it came with probably 2 hush puppies and a small side or I could double the hush puppies. There were no hush puppies and my kids were pretty bummed about it. The fried green tomatoes didn't come with any dipping sauce. Also, the poboy is supposed to come with sauce and coleslaw on the sandwich but this was what I got. Make the quick exit off the hiway and go eat here. It's hidden in the back of a strip mall. It's a weird name. The menu is on a chalkboard when you first walk in and you order at the counter. Take a seat and wait. Clean, bright, well lit place. Friendly folks behind the counter. The catfish is not big ol' fat fillets but strips of tenderly breaded yumminess. The seasoning was delicate. The meat was flaky tender. Honestly, some of the best not cooked at home catfish i can recall. What a nice little yelp find. Buddy had some shrimp too and it was easy to peel and flavored very nicely. Not too hot, not to salty. Hushpuppies were crisp outside and soft inside. Slaw was really good too. I ordered three catfish strips and got 4. The owner popped by to check on us. Seems he started in a food truck and folks liked it so much he now has locations all over the region. My family used to own a catfish restaurant, and this food took me back. My wife and I were staying at Hot Springs Village and drove around area and just happened to visit location in Benton. When I opened the door and smelled that seasoning I knew we were going to get a treat! Spicy boiled shrimp, fried and blackened shrimp with catfish, and fried catfish were among our choices. I placed a to go order at the counter and spent the next 20 minutes watching 15 (yes, I counted) employees mill around mostly chatting or staring off into space.
