If I could give this restaurant zero stars, I would. We've been dining here regularly, and today we learned for the first time that the majority of their menu items are not gluten free. Thank goodness my husband isn't celiac--because if he was, it could have been a serious issue. In the past, the older staff members told us that everything was gluten free except the soy sauce (which they said could be substituted with gluten-free soy sauce). Today, however, our server Jordan--who was amazing and refreshingly honest--told us the truth: most of the food here is not gluten free. This explains why my husband's stomach was always uneasy after eating here. If you have food allergies or intolerances, stay far away. read more

This is a decently sized place, we arrived at the start of the dinner hour so seating was quick, but we did notice it got busy fast. Make you you get on the waitlist early. The sushi was good, and our orders came out pretty fast. The price wasn't bad but it was odd that the nigiri was priced as a single piece instead of the two per order. It made it feel like the decent price wasn't as affordable as it originally seemed. Bottom line, the food was good, and the service was friendly and fast. My husbands coworker recommended this spot so we decided to check it out in one of his lunch breaks. We heard this place could get busy so we went at open (11:30am) and there was a waitlist by 11:50. We decided to order a variety of items to try and loved that they had "mini rolls" which come with 4 pieces so you can get more to try. I think we may have over ordered but they had such a good selection of items that it was hard to pick and choose. The nigiri was fresh with generous fish to rice proportions and all the rolls were well made with the Baja California being my personal favorite. Came Saturday 5:30PM and waited 30 minutes. Sushi is soo good and the prices are fair! Everything here tasted so fresh! Love that the shrimp sushi came with the heads fried. Yummm. Just came back from a business trip and craving sushi like no other. I bookmarked this place to try and it did not disappoint! Place is small and cute. For lunch at 12:30pm, it was packed but I was solo so didn't worry about it. I sat down right away and ordered from their extensive menu. I always order the same things because it's not sushi to me unless I have a taste of ponzu, yuzu, truffle oil and Uni. Yellowtail Jalapeño was very good. I keep the sauce to dip all my other sushi in it. I got an Uni roll and salmon sashimi. Pro tip: they give you bigger cuts for the salmon sashimi ($14) as opposed to the salmon "new way" sashimi where they add truffle oil etc. I ordered the more expensive salmon sashimi and asked them nicely to give me a small dipping bowl of truffle in the side. I had never seen this place come up on yelp which is surprising bc it's clearly popular. We came here for our 1st time on a Sunday afternoon and the wait wasn't bad. You show up, join the waitlist on the ipad, and they txt you when your table is ready. I guess you can join ahead of time as well on Yelp, but when we checked it, it says that it was unavailable. Maybe once it becomes more poppin they open it up online. They even have set up cucumber water outside while you wait. It's in a random strip mall area with a stater bros, but inside it's so cute. I love the vibes and the music. Their decorations are nice. Service was super fast and attentive. The sushi were amazing prices. We ordered a bunch of food and it came out to just under $100. The sashimi platter was only $35 with super generous portions -- thick cuts, super fresh, and every fish was tender and delicious. We also ordered madai and octopus sashimi separately (p1). Beautiful presentation and such great value. We tried the uni as well -- very fresh and reasonably priced. Beef teriyaki: juicy ribeye with a slight Korean-style flavor. Yellowtail collar: grilled fish cheek, firm yet fatty in the right places, seasoned simply with salt -- pure protein goodness. Overall, amazing value for money. Tasty and fast service sushi! They have so many roll options, other meals and side dishes. They had all of my favorite types of food from crispy rice with spicy tuna and miso soup to nigiri and regular rolls. They also had fried rolls which other places usually don't have. The pricing is fair too, semi-cheaper than other sushi spots and still good quality/filling. How it works: The server will give you a menu/piece of paper and you'll be able to mark what you'd like. Once you finish marking it, they will go over it with you. There are two rounds on the paper listed for ordering. Not sure if you can do more since we were already full after the second. Parking was easy and we were seated quickly on a Saturday afternoon (but maybe we were just lucky!). Loved it! We got there right at 5pm but had to wait because we had a big party. This place is ideal for 2-4 people. One issue they have is that they have 4 person tables with 2 people sitting in them - not the best use of space. But their sushi came out super fast (in the beginning, our subsequent orders were slower). But everything was very good and tasty. We had several scallop plates, albacore rolls, spicy tuna, and several other rolls that were all perfect and not overly sauced. One thing I love is that you get 4 pieces for $7.50. Most places do 8 pieces for $15 (at least) so this style allows you to try many different rolls and not end up with a bunch of the last pieces on a plate. Excellent. Everything we had was on point. Eat's Sushi is one of our top 3 local "go to" sushi spots around our home. I love so many of their items. I've never had a bad item or bad experience with the service or food here. It's located in the Stater Bros parking lot so we've never had an issue finding parking, but it can get busy and there can be a bit of a wait sometimes. That's why I'm glad they opened Takumi just a few blocks away. Takumi has the exact same menu. If you visit either location and find there's a wait you can always opt to put in a take out order. I can attest that taking the food to go doesn't compromise the quality or taste of their food. read more

I've seen so many friends review and have passed Eat's Sushi at this plaza plenty of times that I decided to drag my mans out for date night here. I had really high expectations from reading so many good reviews. We went right before rush hour ~5:30 pm and saw how fast the line started growing. Interior is kind of small so it looks like it seats around 10 parties at a time (give or take). It's nice that they have water outside for those who are waiting. We started off with Karage and spicy Edamame as our appetizers. Both felt a little underwhelming. Spicy Edamame was not spicy at all. The peppers used were not spicy at all. Edamame was more on the soggier side to the point of mushy. Karage came with 2 sauces and I was expecting the karage to be crunchy but it was on the softer side like a chicken nugget. So both not bad in taste but not the texture and flavor I was looking for. I also had a miso soup.. a little bit dense in taste that it was very salty/umami. But not bad. 3/5 on the appetizers for me For the main course we ordered 2 handrolls, 3 rolls, sashimi platter (12 pc). The Sashimi Platter 12pc chef's choice turned out to be a 16pc which was a nice surprise. Fish wasn't bad but wasn't the best I've had. A little underwhelming as well. Handrolls were pretty good and very generously filled. I got the spicy salmon and my bf got the spicy yellowtail. This was one of our favs. I do have to say the spicy tasted like gochujang and was overpowering the fish a little. The rolls were alright, it is nice that it came in 4 pieces vs the traditional 8 pieces. allowing us to try more different rolls. At the end we felt like something was missing so we ordered the bluefin tuna sashimi (carpaccio) and 1 singular peppered blue fin tuna. Out of the whole meal of fish I'd say these were my favorites. All in all, decent a la carte sushi place! I spent more than I thought I would. But price for the fish quality, I think I've had better locally. I'm glad I tried it though! read more

When you finally try a place from your bookmarked list from however long ago, but glad to give it a try. It was my birthday weekend back in September, so I decided to meet my family for lunch. I wanted to avoid the dinner rush so we arrived at opening and were immediately seated. They gave us a corner booth, which gave us plenty of space to fill our table with all the bites to try. We tried various dishes, sushi and rolls. Here's our favorites: - New Style Madai (Japanese Red Snapper). This carpaccio was seasoned with white truffle oil, lemon, yuzu and black truffle salt. - Salmon Blue Crab featured Blue Crab, Avocado wrapped with Fresh Salmon Served with Yuzu Ponzu, White Truffle Oil. - Rolls were $7.50 each and had 4 pieces. I personally love anything salmon so In & Out Salmon Roll was a no brainer. It had deep fried salmon and krab topped with salmon and avocado. Bikini Roll was a close second with shrimp tempura and spicy tuna inside topped with salmon and tuna. Husband had the Tonkotsu ramen ($15.95), but he was not a fan and does not recommend. According to him it tasted like instant Korean ramyun and they did provide pickled yellow radish on the side. Overall, pretty decent meal! The only thing I'm not sure about is how I felt about price to portion ratio. It seemed reasonable at first glance, but it adds up. I think we totaled around $98 for 4 people, which equates to roughly $25/per person before tax/tip. I suppose the upside is the opp to try more if that's your jam. read more

Decided last minute since we were craving sushi, so we looked up and gave this place a try. Location was pretty cozy with bunch of Japanese deco, quite nice. Service was efficient and friendly. They were helpful as well. We had some carpacio dishes, spicy tuna on crispy rice, and few pieces of nigiri. As expected, most of our carpacio was lack of flavors other than ponzu or oil, nothing to rave about. And can't go wrong with spicy tuna on crispy rice, though I would love the fish to be a little spicier, not from the pepper itself. Quality on nigiri was fresh, lots of rice so we were stuffed but couldn't taste much of the fish. Overall experience was good. Alright - I see the hype y'all. It was about a 40 minute wait on a Thursday evening, but I've definitely walked by this place and seen longer. It's because the location is relatively small, but the demand is high - and it makes sense. Each roll I had was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, with such fresh fish and textures. I enjoyed every bite; albeit, small bites, as each plate comes with 4-5 rolls (which, if you're hungry can add up quickly). I was satisfied in about three plates, but think it would be pricey if you were hungry. Special note: the paste wasabi was weak, but they also gave me fresh wasabi, which was great and always preferred. Let's start with the unexpected. The Beef Teriyaki isn't your run of the mill thin sliced beef. Instead it's a thick sliced steak, served over a bed of onions on a sizzling plate, with a deliciously sweet teriyaki sauce. Paired with a bowl of rice, this dish is a must try. Eat's Sushi offers two version of sashimi; traditional and new style. The regular sashimi was what you'd expect; thin sliced high grade fish with beautiful presentation. The new style on the other hand is basically sashimi in fancy sauce. While it tastes good, it was too much going on for sashimi, and I would recommend sticking to the traditional sashimi. Alright, now let's get into what most of you probably go for when you venture into a sushi joint like this: the rolls. I ordered a regular roll, a no-rice roll, and a baked roll for reference. Rolls are typically all the same to me for the given price and selection. But the Baked Baby Lobster Roll and the No Rice Red Eye Roll were better than I expected. And finally, the sushi.
