We had a lovely Father's Day dinner here! Everything was delicious, especially the Yuzu Hama roll & the Crunchy Eel roll. Loved the Hamachi Crudo as well & also all 3 desserts, especially the crème brûlée. They sat my family in a private room & the ambiance was lovely. The service was great as well. We will be back!
Awesome service, lovely ambiance, and fantastic food! We tried quite a few items: -Matcha old fashioned -Hamachi crudo -BBQ pork ribs -Karaage -Brussels sprouts with walnuts and golden raisins -Pork belly and pork jowl from the grill -Assorted tempura -Tuna bowl and roll -Spicy poke bowl -Duck udon Everything was amazing. This place is hands down the best real deal Japanese I have found in DFW (easily comparable to any of my favorites in SoCal). I would come back here in a heartbeat to try the rest of the menu!
Tried out this location for the very first time. The restaurant was modern inside, very roomy, and had plenty of sitting options. I ordered the miso soup and tried out two of their rolls which included the spicy crunchy avocado roll as well as the spicy crunchy salmon roll. Each roll came with 8 pieces which was a pretty good portion. My favorite out of the two was the spicy crunchy salmon roll as it had a better flavor than the avocado roll. Service was good as well in my opinion as our waiter was very friendly. Overall not a bad experience.
This sushi spot is perfect if you love fresh fish, a cozy sexy vibe, and that charming small-town feel in a historic setting. I came here for a birthday celebration with friends, and we had a great time! Their sushi rolls are creative and full of personality .. if you're into onion, spicy, or tangy vinegar flavors, you'll definitely appreciate their style. And the best surprise? All desserts are made in-house -- a delicious and unexpected twist for a sushi restaurant.
EBESU is a hidden gem in Plano. Their menu is extremely thoughtful and contains multiple price points for all customers. The sushi was fresh and tasty. There's ample street parking and the location has about 15 tables. There's also rooms for large parties.
Emily served us today and she was very pleasant, I would go out of my way to sit in her section. We started with Herederod Del Marques de Riscal Rioja wine which was very nice, especially for $42 a bottle. The garlic oyster edamame was almost overcooked but still good. I would have loved more garlic flavor and less oyster sauce. The sashimi for two was delicious and very well presented. The gyoza's were so good. They were served with two different sauces both equally good and bringing different flavors out of the appetizers. I ordered the deluxe avocado roll and I would not recommend it especially for $18.It was boring and lacked any flavor or texture. The croissant bread pudding was pretty good, it would have been amazing with a liquor in the white chocolate. Tomo was an amazing manager, visiting with all the guest and ensuring everyone was happy. I will definitely be back to try other things on the menu. Great place to hang.

We celebrated a birthday dinner at Ebesu and had such a great experience! The atmosphere was warm, calm, and beautiful with perfect lighting, and it was easy to hear each other, which made the evening even better. It feels upscale yet comfortable, the kind of place where you can truly relax and enjoy your time. The sushi rolls were creative and unique, not your typical basic options, but we decided to go with sashimi and their homemade desserts instead. I mentioned that I have a bad reaction to ginger, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure my sashimi was prepared in a separate area. That level of care and attention really stood out. The desserts were honestly the best ever! They were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Ebesu is perfect for special occasions or a peaceful dinner with great conversation. The attention to detail, quiet setting, and incredible desserts make it one of my new favorite spots in Plano.
It had been a while since my last visit to Ebesu, so I chose it for my birthday dinner, hoping for a great experience. Sadly, it turned out to be a major disappointment. I used to really enjoy this place, but the service this time was shockingly bad. Our waitress took our order and then vanished. We didn't see her again until about an hour and half later when she returned -- just to drop off the check. Throughout the night, we had our waters refilled once at the very end. The whole table sat through the dinner with empty water glasses for pretty much the entire time. We ordered a number of dishes. We started with the karaage, potatoes, and deluxe salmon roll. The karaage was a letdown -- the batter was slightly burnt and fell off with each bite. On the plus side, the potatoes and salmon roll were pretty good. The truffle mayo served with the potatoes was especially tasty. Our waiter told us we could request more if we liked -- which we did -- but he forgot to bring it. Next came the tsukemen and Buri Shabu, and unfortunately, both were underwhelming. The tsukemen broth, which I normally love, was unbalanced with an overpowering taste of sake (?) and soy sauce. It didn't taste anything like how I remembered it. The Buri Shabu's broth was incredibly salty, although the yellowtail itself was cooked well and had decent flavor. The real issue was that the dipping sauce -- an essential part of the dish -- didn't arrive until we were down to our final slice of yellowtail, a full 25 minutes after it was served. Strangely, none of the food was brought by our original waitress. A different server handled most of the food delivery and made repeated mistakes throughout the night. To top it all off, someone at our table ordered the bacon scallops appetizer, which never arrived. It wasn't on the final bill, so it seems it was completely forgotten. At the end of the meal, we asked for a to-go box for our leftover yellowtail collar. The waiter kindly offered to pack it in the back and include ponzu sauce, but when we got it back, the ponzu was missing too. Overall, while the staff was polite, the number of mistakes and lack of attentiveness ruined what should have been a special occasion.
I picked this Sushi restaurant because I drive by it in a Saturday night and from the door it seemed like it was hopping. Because of the price range I assumed it was high end and a swanky place. Your disappointment, none of that was true but it was my assumption and not the fault of the restaurant. The ambiance is nothing special. The sushi rolls we had were just alright but the service was great by Nancy. It was our Anniversary so they gave us an anniversary dessert, which happened to be one of the more delicious cheesecakes I've had in a very long time. We did very much enjoy that. However, I got dressed up when I could have easily walked in with a pair of shredded Jean shorts to sushi that I don't write home about. We give this place a 4 star because it was our expectation that was off, not the restaurant. But we will not return, there are far better places to go for sushi.
We made a reservation for our anniversary on a Saturday night at 6pm. This is our second time here celebrating an occasion and definitely still very impressed. It's an intimate but upscale feel with excellent and fresh food. The servers are very kind and attentive and enhance the overall experience. Definitely recommend the ebesu course, we did the signature last time and the 4-course this time, and both have great variety and quality. Standouts for us are (1) hamachi crudo with soft yellowtail and a perfect pairing of jalapeño and light citrus sauce (2) robata assortment with flavorful fresh fish, chicken, asparagus, and corn (3) croissant pudding that's warm buttery soft paired with vanilla ice cream (5) bara-chirashi with generous fresh cuts of yellowtail and tuna (we asked to sub out salmon) with sesame seeds, cucumber, tamago. If you love these specific cuts of fish I would actually recommend the chirashi over the nigiri assortment due to the volume. Otherwise the nigiri is a nice alternative with a variety of fish pieces. Overall a 10/10 and loved celebrating here! Order - crunchy toro roll $20 (only item don't rec) - pomepolitan drink $8 ebesu 4-course $62 ea 1st course - hamachi crudo - baby back pork rib 2nd course - robata assortment 3rd course - nigiri assortment - bara-chirashi dessert of the day - croissant pudding - chocolate cake - cheesecake on the house!
Sushi was delicious and fresh, and the pork jowl was some of the best pork I've ever had, highly recommended that dish.
I saw EBESU on Yelp's top 100 restaurants and immediately made a reservation to try it out. They did not disappoint! Party of 3 visited on a Friday evening at 5:15pm. Service was fantastic, vibes were immaculate, and food was delicious. We had the following rolls, and I highly recommend each one! Crunchy Shrimp Mayo Roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll, Rainbow Roll (not pictured), Volcano Box (Oshizushi), New Deluxe Spicy Tuna Roll, Yuzu Hama Roll. The Yuzu Hama was my favorite. So fresh and tasty. We also had the tuna flatbread as an appetizer and it was great. We will definitely be back!! read more

Went for our 1 yr date anniversary and had an outstanding experience. Hostess gave us a wonderful table and Montek was a very attentive waiter bringing us a special dessert for our occasion. Food and service were amazing! Attended as part of the $99 Signature Experience for Restaurant Week and it did not disappoint! Enjoyed alll the dishes esp their homemade ice cream! We got to try a bit of everything since my bf and I ordered different items. 1st Course Items: Creamy Roasted Tomato Soup - light flavor and very creamy as the name indicates. I'm not a huge fan of tomatos in general but I enjoyed this soup. Gorgonzola Cheese Salad - not a huge fan of blue cheese but everything else was great. Dressing was very light and tasteful and the oranges were sweet. The veggies were fresh 2nd Course Item: Sashimi Petite - each piece was carefully cut and tasted very fresh! Came with Tuna, Salmon and Yellowtail 3rd Course Items: Pan - Seared Hokkaido Scallop- again, very fresh and paired well with the lobster sauce Pan-Seared Seabass- enjoyed the pumpkin puree that came with it. The lemon thyme sauce added a bit of tartness to this dish. My bf thought it was a bit too sour for him but I enjoyed it, especially when trying it all at once Fourth Course: A5 Wagyu on Hot Rock: there were 4 pieces of meat per person and came with 4 different sauces to try with. I enjoyed the meat with the truffle sauce! Entrees Bara-Chirashi Don: so much in this dish! I couldn't finish it and took it home so that I have room for dessert. Fish was fresh and enjoyed the tobiko, seasoned mushrooms and the other items Unagi Don - my boyfriend really liked this dish, we both are fans of Unagi. Sauce wasn't too sweet and the eel was fresh Dessert: Hoji Tea Panna Cotta: hoji flavor was strong! Really enjoyed this dish Homemade Ice Cream: reallly enjoyed this dice cream! Parking: Some street parking but more parking available in the parking lots. Interior: Small, cozy and clean interior. I would suggest making a reservation. Service: Very attentive. Food: My favorite was the Chu-Toro Medium Fatty Tuna Nigiri! It's like butter and just melts in your mouth! The Deluxe Chirashi Don was great - but I feel like the rice was just okay and nothing to write home about. The matcha tiramisu was definitely an excellent dessert option! Came here for a girls nice and have to say the happy hour menu is worth every penny. I'm not even sure how much was included but we were stuffed after we were done. The sushi is fresh and the food is prepared well. The restaurant is quiet and well lit, and the service is great! Do yourself a favor and order the set. The dessert was amazing and save room for the sushi bowl. That alone is worth the $$ and super yummy. read more
I felt like I was back in Japan eating at EBESU. The quality of the food and the attention to detail was so spot on. We had the Yuzu Shochu cocktails to start, they're very light and refreshing. My friend and I split the smaller 4 course menu together and it was definitely enough food for 2 people. We also split the nigiri assortment. The fatty tuna bowl was the star of the show to me. The food for the most part was fine and the atmosphere was nice. The service was also fine. But we ordered a special that didn't seem edible. The baby river crabs, although pretty, were terrible and I couldn't get the taste of shell out of my mouth for the rest of the evening. For the price, in my opinion, the food did not compare to Uchiko. The sushi was fine, but again for the price didn't seem very special. We won't be returning. read more
Wow Ebesu Robata has the best chirashi bowl in DFW. All the vibrant colors and the quality of fish you get is amazing. You have to get the sliced kurobuta pork jowl and tuna sampler!! Amazing dishes to start with and they both just melt in your mouth. I would recommend to make a reservation because this place can get packed. Super chill spot with dim lighting for ambiance. Staff is super friendly. The only thing is that there is limited parking. Must try spot!! read more

This place exceeded any expectations I had. I pass it all the time and decided to stop b/c I wanted sushi. It's so nice in side and bigger than expected. The nice light wood and low lighting create a great cozy and clean vibe. This would probably be perfect for a date night. I sat at the bar and to my surprise it was Happy Hour so I indulged. The staff was great, I was greeted when I walked in, while I was seating and by the bar tender. I had the Tropical Asahi as a drink, it wasn't anything crazy but it was good. For my meal I had the miso soup, the Yuzu Hama Roll & Spicy Drago Roll, as well as the Chicken Karaage. Let me tell you the Yuzu Hama Roll is hands down the best roll I have ever had . The Yuzu soy truffle vinaigrette pairs perfect with the yellowtail and Avacado. Literally the best thing I've eaten in a while. The Spicy Dragon roll was a perfect blend of spice and texture. I don't always care for the ground spicy tuna. But this roll had a lay er of the spicy tuna on the outside with the eel, cucumber, and Avacado inside for the perfect bite. Plus the presentation was so pretty as I barely wanted to eat it, but I did of course. So glad I came here, I will oat definitely be back on the regular . read more
First time here, food is pretty good and service is exceptional! Great ambiance and place to go for a work dinner or date, the interior is a lot bigger and nicer than it appears! We ordered the mushroom robata, chicken Kari-kari-age, deluxe salmon roll, white snow crab roll, and matcha tiramisu for dessert. The mushroom robata is the only ones that comes out with a charcoal grill, and is roast mushrooms in a sweet sauce which we liked. The karaage was pretty good, crunchy and juicy on the inside with a yuzu lemon sauce. The deluxe salmon roll was really good, kind of like an elevated California roll, but I really loved the torched salmon on top. It added that extra flavor I enjoyed! The white snow crab roll was also really good, with a combination of flavors and textures that made it really unique. There was some crunchy seasoning on top to contrast with the unagi The matcha tiramisu was beautiful, and the flavor was strong but not too sweet. It tasted more like a matcha pudding than a tiramisu, but it was still really good. Service was awesome!! Our waiter was super nice and helpful to warn about any allergies, etc. Great place to get food and unique Japanese food at a reasonable price! read more
So yummy!! My husband and I love coming here for anniversary and other special occasions. The food here is fresh and even if there's something not right, they always try and improve it. They took away my old dish and remade another one without delay. Just try everything, you won't be disappointed! I don't have a favorite because they're all of my favorites! read more

I went here looking for sushi. I wound up having their sautéed mushrooms, the Poke Don Bowl, and grilled calamari. So delicious! My waitress was very sweet and nice. She made great recommendations. The decor was nice, comfortable and set up well. I was able to get pictures of everything but the poke bowl. I started eating that before I remembered to take a picture. The food and mock drinks Yuzu fizz is surprisingly tasty. Highly recommended on cocktails of matcha old fashion. The service is great, the ambiance is a bit noisy because there are big table, and people are a bit drunk and loquacious. The interior is mixed with post farm modern barn door with post industrial ceilings and Addison light is harmoniously well puts together. read more
Were able to make same day reservations at the bar on a Thursday. We were seated right away. We had a server, but the bartender also helped us out. I decided to go for the sake flight, as I don't know that much about it. It comes with a great sheet of information to guide you through it, and the bartender also discussed some things with me as well. For food, we started with edamame, ordered the salmon miso yaki from the Robata Grill, a couple rolls, and I believe the yellowtail nigiri. Everything was really good. Even if you come for the sushi, try something from the grill. They aren't a huge portions, so you won't fill up before your sushi. The salmon was really flavorful and cooked perfectly. I cannot remember which rolls we got for sure, but they were both delicious. The fish was super fresh. We did have someone sitting by us that talked to us a little too long. The bartender was very aware and asked if we were ok when she got up for a minute. He offered us a pour of a new sake they just got in, and we appreciated that. Overall the service was great and food was excellent. If you are looking for sushi in the area, definitely make it a stop! read more

I've been here a couple of times and the food has been great every time! The sushi is super fresh and almost melts in your mouth like butter. I went during happy hour and our server Sean was phenomenal. Made us feel welcomed and recommended us a great appetizers. The restaurant itself felt very tranquil and upscale. This is one of the very best restaurants that Dallas has to offer! We came here on Valentines weekend, which is typically notorious for pre fixed menus and bad service. But, we had an excellent dinner here and the service was fantastic!! The entire menu was available and the special Valentines menu was put together beautifully. We ordered a couple dishes off the special menu, several off the Robata (yellowtail collar and hanger steak are our favorites), and the wagu steak cooked on the stone table side (absolutely delicious!). We really enjoyed our meal, even the leftovers the next day. You can tell they take a lot of pride is not only the food but delivering an excellent dining experience. In the countless times we've been here before, never have we had a bad meal or experience, we will be back soon! read more
We went last night for restaurant week and had a fabulous experience. Highly recommend ordering one of their flights (whiskey or sake) and taking advantage of the restaurant week deals. The miso cod was incredible and melted in my mouth. The seabass was also a stand out. We also really loved the ice cream and the birthday cheesecake they brought out. Great little spot! Absolutely phenomenal restaurant! The flavors make sense and the ambiance is on point. If I had any criticism it'd be some dishes weren't as good eg the uni rice and the sushi can't really compare to Asia freshness. The coursed menu was on point read more
I've been back here several times since my last review. The food is still good but I think I've decided that it's not my go-to spot for sushi. This isn't to say that the quality is bad. No, Ebesu is still good quality for their fish but I've just had better. However, regardless of that being said, their service is still fantastic and attentive. My go to item here is hands down the pork curry udon. It is seriously my favorite and I haven't found another place yet. Super yummy and plentiful to share among 2 people. Their skewers are small but still very good. It's a solid restaurant for dinner and I'll still come back, just not for the nigiris read more

I came here on a Tuesday with some girlfriends and was disappointed given all the great reviews they had. Drinks were good -- we started with some cocktails and then had wine. Service was great so no complaints there either. Let's move on to food -- started with yellowtail hamachi which is always a safe choice and that was great. Also took the servers recommendation on one of their popular rolls with truffle and jalapenos and that was the highlight of the night. Then we got the chicken karage which is basically fried chicken (servers recommendation) and it was so greasy and so heavy. Then got some mushrooms (also server recommendation) and they bring it out in this fancy contraption but I don't know why because it's just mushrooms that are sooooooo sweet. Got a White Snow roll which was weird because I didn't like the fact that it mixed together cold fish and also something that was seared so it was a weird mix of hot and cold. Also got a pork belly which was super underwhelming. The pork belly itself wasn't very flavorful but they pair it with a spicy Japanese plum paste which is barely spicy and nothing but sweet. I wasn't very satisfied so I got an order of salmon nigiri to give myself another safe bet and that was good. I had high hopes but unfortunately it fell flat. read more
This was our first time here. We came for restaurant week. I have to say the food was on point, and the place was welcoming. I recommend making a reservation. The tomato soup was nice and creamy and full of flavor; loved it. I also had the pan-seared sea bass, which was so good. I loved the crispness of the skin - it was nice and salty, and the fish soaked up all the flavor of the lemon. The nigiri assortment was good, but nothing special. For dessert, I had the tea panna cotta, which was not too sweet, and I liked that. Overall, I enjoyed this location and would definitely come back to try the other items on the menu. read more

The restaurant was a lot smaller than I thought it was going to be, but it made it cozy and the service was quick and attentive. For the food, since I did get a set menu, I can only judge it for what it was and it did make me want to come back to try more one day. The sushi was definitely fresh and the cooked items were tasty. (The extra goodies we got were worth it also) Overall it was a good experience from start to finish, would recommend if you are in the area! read more

I have to admit, Ebesu was a little bit of an underwhelming experience. I've been to many sushi restaurants in the DFW in the last year, so in comparison, it was fairly good. We ordered the Chirashi deluxe which had fresh and delicious fish but not enough to justify the price in my opinion. I do like how they keep customers engaged through monthly raffles. And also how their location is in downtown Plano which is an underrated area to spend a night out! read more

We popped in here for dinner and we were grateful to sit at the bar since we didn't have reservations. My husband tried the Matcha Old Fashioned. He actually enjoyed the beverage and his only feedback was the serving size could have been larger. We started with the garlic oyster edamame. The flavor was delicious and the oyster sauce added something beyond the typical garlic version. We then shared three rolls: Volcano Box, Crunchy Spicy Tuna, and the Spicy Dragon. While the Volcano box had amazing flavor, it literally was too big to eat with chopsticks and wouldn't stay together. We now understand why they asked us if we wanted a fork to eat that roll. The other two rolls were delicious as well. The Ambiance of the restaurant has a quaint and intimate vibe. Our server and the bartender were friendly and engaging with us. This is a great place in downtown Plano. read more

We've been coming to Ebesu for many years now. Something about the people and the place makes me feel very welcoming and I love how it reminds me a bit of Japan. Food here is always top notch and fresh. We certainly always get their nigiri. Everything from uni, ikura to toro and salmon. But besides sushi, we also enjoy the pork jowl (if you haven't tried it before, do get it) and the rei-shabu salad. The other must item is the noodles. We get the Negi-buta and swap the noodle for ramen noodles. Just writing this makes me want to go back. Don't sleep on this one, truly one of our favorite Japanese resturants in Dallas. read more

Masterfully sliced are EBESU's incredibly fresh fish. Smooth and rapturous bites of Toro and Hamachi sashimi, my absolute two favorites. E's Signature Rolls and Negi-Toro Tikka Don also tried. For me, E's massive other ingredients completely masked the pure beauty of the fish. With less being more, I look forward to the next time back; there at the sushi counter, ordering and relishing E's sashimi to my heart's content. CHEERS! read more
I cannot wait to go back! This is the best Japanese in Dallas/Ft Worth area. That includes those very expensive beasts downtown too. Where do I start? From the minute I almost walked by the blackened window with Ebesu painted on it, to the smiling face waiting behind the door, I knew I had stumbled on something great. The interior is small but well designed creating a warm intimate atmosphere. Hamachi Crudo...Bam! Fresh! Perfectly balanced in a light fragrant sauce so good my hubby poured the leftover in his soy dish and drank it like a shot. I'm not kidding. Our server laughed with us and brought an extra side of sauce with my second order. The Garlic Oyster Okra was so crisp and umami. Yum, yum, yum. Hubs liked the chicken yakitori but I had to skip as seasoning had too much gluten for me to partake. The server was so attentive and careful with trying to accommodate my gluten issues without any attitude at all. Veggie Tempura was beautiful and I managed to hold myself back from stealing the pumpkin and suffering the consequences. At least my dear heart ate it quickly and tried not to make any crunching noises. He's kind that way. But the kurobuta pork Joel with plum sauce will have you stuffing yourself into a food coma. I loved it! Unfortunately, we ate so much there was no room for dessert. Now, that I know, I'll pace myself better for Saturday with the daughter and granddaughter day. And guys, they have a happy hour until 6:25. I'm afraid that is going to make it impossible to say no to multiple visits. Delicious, reasonable, impeccable service and cozy ambiance, what's not to love. This is our now favorite Japanese spot in Plano and we will work our way through everything on the menu. read more
What are amazing experience in plano a nice Tucktaway small petite restaurant with a ton of flair and attitude. When you walk in it does feel Japanese and the service is incredible. All the servers are attentive. The food is fresh and unique. He must try of the sucky flight. They have the standard $18 but they have a half menu sake flight so it's sort of nice to have eight different types of sake all the appetizers from the dynamite shrimp (which I felt was a little over cooked since it was chewy) to the tempura appetizer (nice clean vegetables, came with 2 shrimp). The vegetables did taste a little too oily like it sucked up too much oil but maybe it could of used a crisper exterior. The edamame garlic oyster flavor is what you expect dark, sweet, tangy flavor. Nice finger food to nibble while waiting. The Snow White roll, wow, amazing clean fresh taste. White fish with a splash of robust citrus sauce, it wasn't ponzu sauce but a different more darker lime sauce. Add the flakey saffron laces on top, one bite, an amazing taking you to the ocean bite. Love the on the house dessert considering it was my birthday so nice of them to give us a light fluffy chocolate cake.
