Love Echo! FYI this is a Breakers restaurant, but not located at the Breakers hotel it's down the street. The vibe here is really nice and swanky! You can dress up here and fit in nicely. On a Saturday night it's pretty crowded! The menu had so many delicious options from sushi, noodles, meat, seafood etc. The teriyaki salmon I had was delicious. The crispy shrimp sushi roll was outstanding!!!!! We also had the fried rice, which did not disappoint! I will definitely be back here for a date night in the future. read more

It's Christmas Day and people from my tribe go eat Chinese. It's a tradition. We decided to head north to try somewhere new as there really are no decent places to go in Boynton Beach. The ambience reminds me of Vegas and they have the cutest, plates, silverware etc. Even the check comes in an adorable ceramic Chinese container box. Service was fabulous. I started with a Mekong Margarita which was good. We had a few starters and the pot stickers were definitely the stand out. The Wonton Soup was mediocre and the miso soup was returned as my friend said it was fishy. I ordered the egg foo young and it was the best I ever had. So much flavor and the gravy was so good I could have bathed in it. My boyfriend really enjoyed his General Tso's Chicken. My friends also loved their Grand Marnier Shrimp and Peking Duck. All in all it was a great meal. I only wish that their price point was better. $30+ for an entree is a bit steep for me especially since you know you'll be hungry again in an hour. read more

Received an enthusiastic recommendation about Echo from a friend who manages a high end boutique in Palm Beach. Dinner was absolutely AMAZING. They have some fantastic cocktails, and really great appetizers (even the dang edamame is uniquely better than most places), and they have great sushi and entrees (the wagyu steak was freakin sublime!). But he crown jewel was this Oreo cookie soufflé that was off the chain. Menu was diverse and impressive and the staff was really fun and attentive, and the restaurant has a nice vibe. Went to Echo tonight for dinner. First time in a while. The prices have skyrocketed. It was $30 for a 10 pc shrimp tempura roll and $40 for general Tso chicken. Service was great the prices are out of control. They did have a good meal deal for $70 that included an app entree and dessert. Basically dessert is free vs ordering a la carte. read more

While staying at The Breakers, we decided to venture offsite to Echo for dinner. They have convenient shuttles running from the resort to here and Flagler Steakhouse, which makes it super easy to get around. We booked a reservation but probably would have been ok walking in as it wasn't too busy. They sat my boyfriend and I at the most perfect table, nestled in the corner with a wraparound bench. We ordered some rosé and got to ordering. I love sushi and definitely wanted to try some, so we opted for the Spicy Dragon Roll to start. Spicy tuna with cucumber, inside-out topped with avocado, tempura flakes, spicy mayonnaise and eel sauce. It was served within minutes and packed with flavor. I could have ate the entire roll by myself and been satisfied for the night. We also got complimentary edamame which was a treat. For main plates, I got the combination chicken and shrimp pad thai, while he got the kalbi wagyu flatiron steak with kimchee fried rice and bulgogi marinade. My serving of pad thai was huge. I could only finish about half of it and took the rest to go. His steak was perfectly cooked and I loved the rice that came under it. Overall, we were really happy! We opted to wait to eat dessert at the hotel since we were stuffed, although Echo's speciality soufflés were tempting. If you're looking for a true Palm Beach experience I imagine Echo might be for you. The location and valet parking are very good and the ambiance from the sidewalk up into the restaurant has a great vibe. Every Echo employee, from valet to hosts to servers, even to the person bringing you water, are very, very personable and well trained. I ordered a Basel Hayden Manhattan on the rocks and it was exponentially better than any I'd ever had. And now the food. We are big Asian food lovers even having lived in the Far East. The best dish we ordered were the Spare Ribs. Very tender with a delicious sauce. Lettuce wraps were very good also. But I found almost every other dish to be just average. Our sushi rolls a bit dry, Pork Dumpliing not super tasty, and the Fried Rice with no discernable flavor. The dessert plate was done beautifully and was delicious. Now the Peking Duck Bao Buns. normally a huge favorite. Four regular size buns with a not crispy slice of skin and precious little duck inside. Willing to overlook their inadequacies until I saw they were $48. And then realized the Fried Rice was $28. As I started the review with "Palm Beach Experience" I am sure this is what everyone at this crowded restaurant came for. As an experience Echo was lovely. But with the overrall food presentation, which was close to Tapas in quantity, I'm afraid it will make this a one time experience for us. read more

I don't get the hype of this place. Sushi was subpar as was the shrimp pad Thai. For Breakers prices you expect a breakers experience. I will say the lobster wontons were good and the best thing we ordered. We also did the dragon bites and palm beach roll with conch. Neither was memorable. Inside was nice and so was our server but that's about it. In total, we order 4 things and one cocktail. Bill came out to $181 with the automated gratuity. My friend got horrible food poisoning here but that could have been a rare mishap so certainly not the sole reason for one star. Although when I called, they asked which name my party was under as they got a similar call from someone else, so perhaps not that rare! I get that everyone loves that Nobu style food but this place is definitely not "it." The lettuce wraps couldn't be more bland, the rice within the sushi was ice cold, the fish was incredibly overcooked to the point of being chewy and inedible, their horrible attempt at rock shrimp was soggy rather than crispy, and the soufflé that they're known for looks WAY better than it tastes. They also make you wait way past your reservation time to seat you and when you ask the staff for an update, they give you an annoyingly diplomatic response or even worse "the table is being cleaned and prepped as we speak" (and then 20 minutes passes). This place is a Breaker's owned tourist trap. A lively, fun scene with massively sub par food. To their credit, they were nice about how they handled the food poisoning incident the next day. read more

Beautiful space, nice service, busy, truly mediocre food. Nosebleed prices to be expected in this neighborhood. Over salted food lacking any sophistication or sense of craft isn't. Lettuce wraps ok, but too salty. Ginger beef a little too chewy, but what was truly disappointing was the brown sauce everything was swimming in (dish was served in a large soup bowl, brown sauce was half way up. No taste of ginger. Just salt. Not even shoyu taste, just salt. Like brown seawater. Coconut soufflé had a tasty exterior, but tasted like nothing but egg whites inside. I think it's owned by the Breakers. Everything tasted like hotel food. I'll go back for half price happy hour sushi. Update: Went back for happy hour sushi. Not bad half price sushi. The sushi was OK, a step above mall sushi, but not great, for example, the $19 rice-less roll relied on fake crab and the sunomomo salad (which - if you're going to call it sunomomo -should be a vinegar dressed cucumber salad) was a heap of that "seaweed" salad (artificial color supermarket quality) on a few cucumber slices. OK at half price, but meh. Although our waitress was excellent, the front desk had eyebrow raising attitude from the grumpy, spray tanned "hostesses" guarding the empty restaurant from happy hour unworthies. Despite having the same owner, I thought the sushi at the Breakers' HMF bar was MUCH better - with the stunning good looks and superior hospitality of that bar, full price there was more satisfying and a better value than half price at Echo. We really liked Echo and I am starting to think that everything The Breakers touches is golden. The resort itself is over the top glorious and the Flagler Steakhouse and Seafood Bar are both top notch. Well, same think with Echo! The atmosphere, the service, the food - all of it is really excellent! My spouse and I did the tasting menu. We were greeted with some of the best Asian food we've ever had (and we eat a LOT of Asian food)! The Kung Pao Lettuce Wraps were so savory and especially delightful! Even the drinks were expertly executed and served professionally. The one dish that was not up to par was the Pad Thai; I have had this dish many many times in many many different places. Unfortunately Echo simply did not have a good handle on this dish. Maybe we got a bad batch or something. If you cannot make it taste the way it should, then it should be removed from the menu. Neither I nor my spouse ate more than an initial bite or 2. But please don't let that one sore thumb scare you. Echo is a great place to treat yourself to great Asian food! read more

We went to Echo with a party of 8 and right away, the staff was very sweet. We ordered several apps to share. The pork pan fried potstickers were delicious. Stuffed with pork. My favorite thing of the night. The spicy dragon roll and echo roll were both very good. The tartare was just ok. Mostly avocado and light on any sauce or flavor. The mini tuna tacos and lettuce wraps were fresh and tasty. Everyone at the table was pleased with their main dishes. The only one really worth noting was the miso seabass, delicious. All the others were just good but not exceptional. Excellent service, gratuity is include and the server let us know. It's a little bit of a hassle to get out to the island but it was a nice change of scenery and a beautiful restaurant. We also went during off season so it wasn't crowded. read more

Our dessert we ordered never came out and then we had to ask to have it taken off the bill... Yep service was not good. Food - This is on the island but the costs were not crazy but on the higher side. We worked our way through some snacking options and then had sushi and dumplings. All was good but nothing I would have to come back for... The only thing I would come back for actually is probably to have a drink and the vibe or as a cool sushi option for out of towners but that is really all. We ordered dumplings, chicken pad Thai, chicken lo mein and an order of ramen noodles with chicken. The dumplings were good, and the ramen was decent but everything else was HORRIBLE. Truly disappointed in my dining and food experience I had with echo my most recent visit. My family and I have been dining at echo for over 20 years and have never been so shocked by the restaurant experience as we were last night. My guests' and I were placed in the middle of 2 large bachelor parties and we could not even hear each other talking next to each other without yelling. One of my guests decided to leave mid way through the dinner because they could not believe the environment of the restaurant. As for the food, it was fine. This place is a complete rip-off and the food was awful. We love Asian food but there is no NY style asian in South Florida that we can find. We decided to give it a try and get take out from here. I ordered Singapore noodles which is supposed to be rice vermicelli with curry. What I got was a block of Ramen noodles (I swear it was from the package) with a few vegetables for $25. They must be laughing all the way to the bank. The beef lo-mein was greasy and the beef had some sugar coating on it. We also tried the Kung Pao lettuce wraps which was swimming in some sort of sugary bbq sauce. It was inedible. To add insult to injury they ask for a tip for the kitchen when you order online for pickup -- and even though we ordered at 5:00 we could not pick it up until 6:30 and even then it wasn't ready. I will never eat here again. The food is lousy and the prices are insane. I never ever leave restaurant reviews but I had to share how awful this was. read more

Head to Echo for the most boring night of your life. After two drinks, the manager told us they were no longer allowed to serve us any alcohol... I assume because we were laughing too hard..... As a Florida native and a regular at the Breakers, I would rather eat dinner at Duffys in a crowd full of bikers than step foot in an establishment that doesn't allow for fun. This place is good for a night out at 6 pm with a glass of iced tea and tuna roll. I would highly recommend not having any celebrations here because you might be told you are having too much fun.
