I found this gorgeous dress that I ended up getting. I got a size 2 and it fit although it was a bit loose. I asked her if she had it in a size 0 and she said "they" start sizes at 2 and up. Strange because online, the same dress started at size 0. Maybe she meant Topshop @ Nordstrom's start sizing at 2? Doubt it. Girl, you don't gotta lie to kick it! I had to let myself into one of the dressing rooms because no one was around. And then one sales associate tried to open the door without knocking first. The selection is very limited but what can you say? For the space, they did a pretty decent job.

In over 15 years of loyalty to your brand in San Francisco, I have never been treated with such disrespect and humiliation. From the moment I arrived, the sales associate was outright rude. When I asked if the Lizzy t-shirt came in other colors, she coldly replied that there were only two. I politely asked her to check on her iPad, which she REFUSED to do. After some insistence, she reluctantly checked, clearly annoyed, and told me there was another color--only to show me a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT t-shirt (V-neck). When I pointed out her mistake, she flat-out refused to continue assisting me. At this point, shocked by her attitude, I took out my phone to prove that there were indeed other colors. And this is where things escalated into something UNACCEPTABLE: instead of acknowledging her mistake or responding with even a minimum of professionalism, she told me to "get out" of the store! Stunned by such disrespect, I asked to speak to the manager. And then, to my absolute shock and disgust, she claimed that SHE WAS THE MANAGER HERSELF--before laughing at me and telling me to "get the hell out." This is simply DISGRACEFUL. How can a store like yours hire people who are so disrespectful, arrogant, and outright hostile toward customers? And to make matters worse, another sales associate was there, witnessing everything, and did NOTHING to intervene. An oasis of luxe basics at reasonable prices…read more I've been familiar with Velvet for a while through purchasing their stuff at Bloomingdale's, but considering how dreadful service there has been - at ALL their stores in NorCal, which is astonishing to me - i'm glad that Velvet set up shop at Stanford. It definitely beats hoofing it to the Fillmore. On a weekday morning during COVID-19, it's not surprising that the store was empty. The store's manager, Rica, was helpful and fetched me sizes I needed plus chatted a bit about the brand and life in general during this whole event going on. Got my shirt, got on my way, and was the first purchase of the day. Hopefully things picked up after I left.

I bid adieu to the small rolls created by my fab bra and said hello to my smooth front and back side. 3/12/09 Took my mom and cousin's advice and decided to take a trip to Coco Belle to buy my first girdle! GASP! My first Girdle at the tender age of....According to the owner Jane (who by the way looks fabulous after 3 kids!) wearing the girdle before having children and after can help your body snap back into shape after having a baby. I always wondered why a lot of Asian women look so great! A lot of women wear one of these in Asia and look great in their clothes. Yes the girdle is tight and will help you eat less! Say good bye to the ugly bra lines and small rolls under your shirt! Go to Coco Belle and ask for Jane. She will get you into the correct size and custom order one for you from Korea. The girdles are made in Korea with Italian fabric. They are expensive but worth it!

This is an amazing place to shop in downtown Palo Alto, and yes, you can find some amazing things…read moreto wear here, even if your summer capsule wardrobe is primarily made up of solid neutrals. Everything that I bought over here this summer is made of 100% cotton in Nepal. I bought some ivory/cream/light beige cotton/linen pants that were so comfortable and flowy. I also bought some pale pink cotton pants - and they feel very neutral in spite of being pastel. I love the "criss cross" opening at the ankles of all the pants that I bought. Very cool! No patterns. Just neutral solid pants. Each pair of pants was about $58 but totally worth it because they're very durable. I wash them on the delicate cycle with just a little bit of gentle detergent, and dry them on a clothes line in the sun (they're dry in less than fifteen minutes). They had lots of white cotton tops; unfortunately none of them were sleeveless or just a wee bit longer sleeves than sleeveless. I'm not a fan of full sleeves in the summer. I made an impulse cashmere shawl purchase on a cold summer night here because it was cold outside and the air-conditioning made the restaurant nearby (Tamarine) feel like the North Pole. It was a neutral ivory/cream color with a super-tiny dark brown herring bone pattern on one side. I like it because if I want a lighter looking shawl, I have the cream or ivory on one side, and if I want a darker looking shawl, I have the dark brown on the other side. A bit spendy at $200 and most definitely not vegan, but I was freezing... I do own a few woolen sweaters and leather shoes, although I really try hard not to buy wool or leather. Cashmere is so, so, so soft and feels so lovely on the skin. Like Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex and the City says about cashmere: it's a cashmiracle! They have some cashmere scarves in neutral solids too. The only downside was that the music was deafening. It made me want to leave the store as soon as possible, instead of staying for hours and trying on some more clothes.
