Had breakfast and for the price it was horrible The waitress was unable to make a tequila sunrise. They were out of everything we wanted to order and the menu was limited. The eggs were very over cooked no sausage no salmon and when asked for Hotsauce my I had finished my meal by the time it arrived the coffee was lukewarm warm. Avoid at all costs. The review is for the bar only since I didn't eat there. The bar was definitely an attraction in and of itself and attracts people who aren't staying there like me. When we got off the elevator, the bar was split into two different sections and one was closed off her a private event. Fortunately, the arguably more popular of the two sections with the rotating moon. I'll say that it's a little underwhelming. The bar is a little old fashioned and the rotating moon looks a little run down and the patio furniture was in need of reupholstering. The bartenders had to deal with a bit of a rush since there was a pretty large group from the hotel that had come up and there was some difficulty in getting a drink but they were pretty swamped. If you're visiting you're probably going to come visit or have your friend who lives in the area take you, it's kind of a stalwart. read more

I came for their Thanksgiving Day Buffet, and it reminded me of the Thanksgiving dinners I had growing up. We got there at 12:30 and clearly had the same thoughts as many other people as the line was fairly long and the wait was about 15 to 20 minutes for food. The prime rib was a cooked medium rare verses medium but was still great! The turkey was to die for, and all of the sides were mouth watering. The servers were fun, and this one young fellow looked somewhat like an elf. The servers seemed a little overwhelmed when we first arrived. I'm sure that had to do with the number of people who were there at the same time as us. I do have to say my favorite dish was the sweet potato pie. read more

Every staff member was courteous but Rachel & Chris at the bar, they were so unbelievably kind and making sure we were totally taken care of for our stay. Dinner was fantastic. We recently spent the weekend in St. Louis and ate here because it was in our hotel. The food was amazing but we did not get all of our order. The drinks were undrinkable. The bartender did confirm our drink order because the signature cocktail I ordered was not able to be made. Wait staff acted like they were inconvenienced by us being there and did not seem to want to wait on us and still added the part of our order we didn't get to our bill which they knew we didn't get because it was asked about. My significant other and I were looking for an upscale experience which is what it should have been based on the prices. However, our server wore a t-shirt and jeans that were so low his boxers and butt showed. Not ideal for a romantic night. Also had to ask for utensils/napkins after food was delivered and asked for extra ketchup from three different people. On top of that, you have to order from the bar (no server) and it was very expensive, especially for what we received. AVOID! Had 6:30pm reservations for four. We were promptly seated at high top in bar area. 15 minutes until someone arrived for drink order. Another 10 minutes until drinks arrived. At which time we ordered several appetizers. Server rarely came back for drink refills-gave some leeway here as they seemed understaffed. Ordered a few Drinks from the bar to bring to table. We were told by server a few times that food was on way out but by 8:15pm we gave up. When we said we had to leave for concert, we were offered 'shots'-really? I hate to give this rating but it was really the dessert that brought the rating down , in fact, I would give the dessert a rating of two. We had the banana foster beignets, not a banana in sight and the beignets were not soft and pillowy, they were flat and hard as hockey pucks . We had to use a knife to saw through them . We ate at Eclipse on NYE and were so impressed! I hadn't been in probably 10 years when the hotel opened and I was quickly reminded how delicious it is! Making a reservation was easy and our server was wonderful. They had quite a few amazing sounding NYE specials and I decided on the Alaskan Halibut at the recommendation of our server. I started with the bacon and mushroom soup and it was so good! I was between the fish and the Cajun short ribs, but definitely didn't regret going with the fish! It was crispy, well-seasoned and sat on a bed of lemon risotto that was amazing! The broccolini was great too. My friend got the Cajun short ribs and let me try them and they were phenomenal! Another person got the steak and truffle fries and raved about both and the truffle fries were beyond! Finally, someone got the chicken roulade with crispy Brussels sprouts and it was yummy! The Brussels sprouts were delectable! Crispy, sweet (from the cranberries), and savory- perfect! Finally we all had dessert. I ordered the fruit tart and it was flavorful, but light and I enjoyed it, especially with the mint on top! Oh, and I would be remiss if I didn't mention their amazing cocktail menu. We tried 4 different cocktails and they were all amazing and unique! And, at $10 a pop, a decent value as well. This is a review for the bar in the Eclipse Restaurant only. Stopped by after dinner with a large group for drinks at the bar last night. Charlie was the only bartender and he was QUICK at taking care of all of the drink orders. The drink menu had just been updated for the season, so all of the drinks were new to him, but he executed each complex drink with speed and skill. I had the "Sweet Ankle Tatt" cocktail made with tequila, grenadine, lime juice, pear, and ginger. Wonderful! You could taste every flavor- sweet and refreshing on a hot night. I also had the 90210 cocktail- kinda tasted like a pina colada but with more going on since there was both vodka and Pisco mixed with the pineapple and coconut. We sat for 20 mins before our waitress came to even start our order. Ordered drinks and food at the same time. Took 20 mins to get drinks and we didn't even get everything. It took 40 mins to get our food and they forgot half of it. It would have been another 30 mins to wait for our missing food. During the whole time our waitress came over a total of 3 times. The service was absolutely awful. While we were waiting we saw multiple people come and go because no one was at the hostess stand. Currently waiting for our check and it's been 15 mins. We love to sit on the rooftop bar (which I believe is part of the Eclipse Restaurant). I don't think a lot of people know it's up there, but it is so awesome. With the cities low skyline, you can see EVERYTHING from up there. There's always pretty plants and flowers to compliment the view. TONS of great seating to make you comfortable. Great drinks (be aware these are real drinks so prices are a little more expensive for the area, but they are worth it). It's an awesome spot to stop in after dinner and catch the sunset while drinking a tasty drink. I know they also have food, but we haven't ordered any, so I can't touch on that. Service at the bar is always great, and they have an awesome alcohol selection. This is a little treat for us that we like to indulge in after an evening on the loop. I had brunch here while staying in the hotel. This restaurant has a nooky feel (new word I just created), plus I love the Star Trek photos at the bar. I want to clarify by saying that Eclipse is still first and foremost a great bar in St. Louis. It's pretty much the same as the Moonrise room on the top floor, just on the main floor. However, I came here recently for a work breakfast and it was way better than your typical hotel food. First off, you're at a boutique hotel so the service is amazing. The staff treat you like royalty and really know the meaning of customer service. Their breakfast menu is simple and spot on. I went with the breakfast burrito, tea, and a side of bacon. The tea is your typical bagged tea but the food was above and beyond for a hotel. The burrito was cooked and wrapped perfectly with plenty of egg, peppers, chorizo, and cheese. On top of that, the bacon was one of the most thick cut bacon I've ever had. Soooo good. Who would have thought Eclipse has a great breakfast? read more

Decor / cleanliness: 5/5 (everything was perfect, comfy booths, small tear on seat cushion, moon theme was pretty cool) Atmosphere: 5/5 (Casual, relaxed) Service: 3.5/5 (Friendly, nice, could have been a tad faster) Side Salad: 5/5 on both greens and Caesar salads, large portions for a side Crawfish Bites: 4/5 (only docking a point because $7 is about $1 too much for only 4 pieces, but they were very tasty) Grilled Cheese: 4/5 Excellent!!! with bacon and apple slices, hold the onions, would have preferred slightly less thick bread, description said thick bread but man this was thick. Overpriced late night meals, but the atmosphere made up for it I guess. The decor is that of space I think or something retro. Very cool. It turns into a bar/lounge at night but you can get food late into the evening (you might be hungry for something after that concert at the Pageant). It closes at 2 or 3 am I believe, but the environment is really chill so you don't ever feel like someone will come up behind you and grind up on you. lol Portions were large. I had four tacos which were fine, but the best dish was surprisingly my husband's pancakes. Perfectly cooked and crispy, but soft in the middle. Crispy pancakes are the best. Showed up the night of the reservation with a party of 10 on a busy weekend and the manager , Cameron, said that he did not have the reservation. I got an omlette with hash browns and sausage on the side and everything was delicious! My brother got a breakfast burrito, and I stole a bite and would have been equally satisfied with that. The atmosphere of the Eclipse is really neat and unique! It's retro-space themed, and it kind of makes you feel like you are part of the old TV show Meet the Jetsons. Something totally different from the norm, which I enjoyed. The three star rating comes from the service. They were a little slow at refilling drinks and making sure we had everything we needed. Additionally, about half our group got their food 30 min earlier than the rest and were basically finished with the meal as the other half started. read more
