Total billed time was 2.5 hours, but they only spent 30 minutes loading the truck and then 30 minutes unloading the truck with 1.5 hours of transport for my relatively small move. My only minor issue with the company policies were due to the travel time. When I booked, I was told I would pay for the time they left their office to the time they got back. From their office to my apartment was 10-12 minutes, but that was billed for 30 minutes. Plus another 30 mins to my new place and 30 mins for them to get back to their office. It was just a bit more $ on transport than I figured and I probably would have done better with a flat rate travel fee policy, but the movers did great! I really liked that it was easy to schedule the moving services and that the quoted price accurately captured the time it took to move my 1bd apartment. What resulted in the 2 star review is that they significantly damaged dry wall in 2 places in my apartment (see photos) and they broke my vacuum cleaner by dropping part of it and my bed frame (resulting in the need to purchase a new bed frame). They were two nice guys and quick at moving, but this lack of care toward belongings or space is not on par with what I expect from a professional moving company. In addition to moving costs, I could have been required to pay funds out of my security deposit (luckily my landlord was understanding!). Update: they called me to offer solutions to the problem (including repairing the wall for free and filing insurance claims for the damaged items). After injuring ourselves trying to move our furniture, my husband and I realized we weren't as young as we used to be and hired Eco Movers to help us. Ruben and Lucas were phenomenal! I go back and forth between being angry and livid about the aftermath of my move on May 27th, 2022 with Eco Movers. I try my best to be understanding and accommodating because I know moving is a tough job so I am not out to be mean to anyone or demean the work of the crew. However, I cannot stay silent because I am so angry about the crew putting scratches on my brand new $2000 Miele washer which was never opened and is still in its original packaging from the manufacturer. Yes, I understand that it is tough moving a 300 lbs washer up two steep flights of stairs. However, what I do not understand is why a three-person crew was so unprepared. When they loaded the washer onto the dolly, they did not even strap it down with anything. I was so stressed out watching them afraid that they were going to drop it because they did not have a good grip on the washer. They did not have gloves to help them with the gripping. And this was a brand new 2022-built home that they were helping us move items into. They did not take off their shoes or wear any protection. Eco Movers charge for driving from their office to the moving location, which is fine because it is industry standard. I would have been fine with this cost but the outcome was not so great for me. The move itself couldn't have been easier. I only had 6 items to move, a media console, a marble tabletop belonging to a coffee table, an entryway table, one washer, one dryer, and a mattress. Note that all these items were packed by a professional mover from one of my previous moves. Wrapped with a heavy-duty moving blanket and plastic. To add salt to my wound, I have since found what looks like a box cutter scratch on my $1500 West Elm media console from when one of the movers was using a box cutter to cut open the plastic wrapping. This is the second time I have used Eco Movers. The first time was when I moved from a one-bedroom apartment in Queen Anne to a two-bedroom condo in University District. After the move, I found a dent on my wall from the movers who were assembling the bed. I decided to give Eco Movers another chance, but now I am regretting my decision. I have submitted a claim on the damaged items, but I am not really sure how that will solve my issue. - MOVERS BEWARE! - I received a reply from the company which you can read below. This is an update to my original response - which, to be clear, I have no change of heart after their company's response. Here's a few things majorly wrong. 1. I mentioned damage to items in the boxes and no one from Eco Movers told me that if the exterior of the box was damaged that I could document and submit for reimbursement. The only reply I got to my claim was that Eco Movers isn't responsible for any items that in boxes which I had packed. Had someone at your company let me know that, I would have sufficiently document all of the boxes that were crushed, dented, or ripped. But again, no surprise that those key details were never mentioned up front, not until I started complaining about my horrific service with your company. 2. The fact that I was conned into having eco movers move my plant is on your company. I was hesitant to have eco movers move my giant cactus because I didn't trust them. But the sales agent pushed and pushed and pushed over the phone and over several days. After promising several times that I could be assured that eco movers could handle the job and keep my cactus safe I accepted. You have a policy to protect you from having to cover the damage and loss to my century old plant but what you don't cover is how insistent and assuring your sales agent was to get me to have your company move the plant - that is a scheme. 3. My main point is that because I signed all those papers saying that you aren't liable for any damage to plants and all the other slew of things you won't take credit for harming, meant your company is free and clear to treat my possessions badly with no consequences. Before the movers started shifting the cactus I had them stop. I told them and begged them to please be careful because this was the most important thing in my home and it is almost a hundred years old. The movers nodded, went right to work and within less than a minute the cactus was broken. It hadn't even left the room it was in before they broke it. The movers didn't even flinch which the cactus snapped. You know why? Because they know they have nothing holding them accountable. Their immediate lack of response showed the level of carelessness of your company and mentality of service. 3. You are stating that "my wife" did this and that... PETER, my cis-gender male fiancé and I (we are both cis-gender men), did no such thing. You are a person claiming to know all the facts about the shoddy job your company did meanwhile you get details incorrect AND misgender my partner. For you to SO confidently and boldly write "wife" throughout the latter half of your response shows what kind of company you are and who you expect to be your clients. Honestly this really got me furious and disgusted even more about your company. Movers please take note. I've used Ecomovers once before to move across town from Belltown to First Hill in April 2019 and did not have any major issues. I only did moving and packed myself. I don't know if it's because of the pandemic or what but my most recent movers were not the most professional, quite careless with my stuff. In May 2020, I had to transfer units in my apartment building. I used Eco Movers for both packing and moving, which was done over 2 days. I was avoiding trying to lift one finger. I felt the movers were being lazy and tried to cut corners when they found out they weren't loading anything onto a truck. I have a 1,000 tightly packed apartment, with lots of drawers full of fragile items (especially in the kitchen). The movers came and worked from 9am to 1pm. By 1pm, they were not done packing all my stuff but I could tell they were tired and trying to get out of there. They left and I found out that several of my drawers were not cleared out and packed properly so I had to do it myself. The next day, when they came back for the move, the lead mover didn't bother disassembling my ikea couch and tried to shove it through my new unit's hallway. It wouldn't fit and he chipped off paint on the corner of the hallway where the turn was. When I said he needed to disassemble my couch first, he seemed disgruntled and made annoyed sound. He's getting paid by the hour so I'm not sure what the issue is. It was the same with my full-sized bed frame, they warped it diagonally so the screws became lose, and they forced it through the door frame. Previous movers always dis-assembled my bed and reassembled it! It's a 6 year old cheap ikea piece but now I pretty much have to throw it out because the screws and holes on the frame are so loose from the move. Again, for the second day, the movers left around 1pm and I found that in my old apartment, there were still loose stuff like brooms in the closet, plunger in the bathroom, some bottles in my cupboard, posters on the wall, hangers in the closet, sponges next to the sink, that they did not bother packing or moving. I had to again pack and move all this myself. Worst part, these people did not use moving blankets and did not really wrap my stuff up properly. "You're just moving a few floors in the same building", they said. Well, they ended up chipping the marble top on my Room & Board kitchen island with the dolly/hand cart they used because the movers didn't bother wrapping it before holstering it on its side. My Crate and Barrel walnut tv console also ended up with some scratch marks that were not there before because they did the same thing to it. I filed a claim in June for the kitchen island but did not hear back from anyone. Followed up in July and was told because of COVID-19, things are slow but they were going to get back to me soon. When I followed up recently at the end of August, Ecomovers said they went through restructuring of the claims department so they lost my paperwork completely! I had to refile but who knows how long it would take again. My stuff should not have been damaged in the first place! As for COVID-19 safety procedures, one mover wore his disposable surgical mask inside out, half falling from his face, not covering his nose. No one was wearing gloves even though I was told they would take precautions doing this. There was no protection for me from germs nor was there protection from damage for my furniture. I have moved across the country to Seattle using full service pack and load from United Van Lines my company hired for me and the movers were much more professional. They categorized and labeled all the boxes, lined the floors with padding to prevent scratches to the floor, and they wrapped every piece of furniture with cling wrap. They got every last item including my tooth brush and the rubber stopper in the bathtub. My whole 1,000 sq feet apartment was packed up in like 4 hours by a 3 man team. Ikea furniture was disassembled like they've seen many before and no one was trying to shove couches or a bedframe through a tight hallway or a door. The service from Ecomovers paled in comparison. If I cannot even trust these people with a unit transfer in the same building, I wouldn't recommend you use these people for anything farther. read more

I hired Eco to do both the packing and the moving based exclusively on Yelp ratings alone. Serious mistake! Quick run down. We are a West Seattle couple with a three bedroom house who braved selling during the pandemic, and bought a new home in Green Lake. Then came the problems! There are many good companies out there, and our regular mover (Can't Stop Moving) was booked, so we turned to Yelp, and had a disaster. First was the bait-and-switch pricing. They kept changing the prices over and over prior to the job (about fie or six times), and a $3,000 job became a $4,500 job and it was all due to ineptitude. The packing was $1,500, and we got three non English speaking persons who could not take direction, and could not write on the boxes in English what was in them. Worst of all, they threw things into boxes without wrapping paper or bubble wrap to protect things. We've been in the house three days, and can't find our pots and pans. Too many boxes all unmarked. Many things ruined. It will take a long time to dig out of this mess. NEVER hire this company to pack anything! I've had professional movers many times before, and never encountered this magnitude of ineptitude. The move was to have four men and two trucks. We got one truck, and it slowed down the move. Again, there wasn't a good English speaker, so it was hard to coordinate.... .......worse still because when I was asked where something should go, or what something was so they could place it on the truck, it was a mystery to us all, as the packers didn't label the boxes. So valuables were packed low and got crushed, and of the 200 hundred boxes, and a four bedroom house we moved into, most of the boxes went to the wrong floors and wrong rooms. I have a broken back, and can't lift clothing boxes up the stairs to the rooms they should have been moved to, but alas, no labeling. We are older, and have a lot of nice suits and clothes. All were packed so tightly that I have to have my entire wardrobe dry cleaned and pressed. I've attached some photos which show the "unmarked" boxes, many of which weigh 20 lbs or more, and when opened you find a pile of trash! Nothing separated nor cushioned with wrapping paper! Clothes boxes are even a greater mess. Shirts mixed with pants, and shoes! Wardrobe boxes have all manner of junk loaded into the bottom, damaging the hanging clothes and also keeping things we need hidden. There you have it! If you and your partner are moving across town having sold one house, to move into another, please hire a "professional" moving company that knows the ropes, communicates and works with you, and labels everything carefully. Let me begin with this; this review is long overdue. However, given I will soon be moving again, I am thinking again about my 3 moves with Eco Movers. Firstly, the movers themselves were absolutely amazing. They arrived on time; they were thoughtful of the other residents in the location, and they were very professional. My problem and it is a big one problem is the office staff. I have a large collection of framed museum posters from museums all over the world. I have collected them over my entire adult life. While they may not have any monetary value, the posters do have a great deal of sentimental value. I packed all the posters myself. There were 40 posters in all. The operative word in that sentence is "were"; I now have 28 posters. As with most movers, when the move is finished, you are given about 5 minutes to ensure all your belonging have been unloaded. Foolishly, I did not count the number of poster boxes. And I did not begin to unpack the posters until a month later. My bad. Between my second and third move, Eco Movers stored my belongings in their storage facility. Trust me one of the worst mistakes of my life. After the 3rd move and my disastrous mistake of signing documents saying all my belongings were delivered, a couple of weeks later, I discovered 12 posters were missing. I immediately called the moving contact and left voicemails, texts and emails. No one from Eco Movers had the courtesy (or balls) to respond to my inquiries. I suspect the posters were left in storage or on the truck. But, by now, I am certain someone else is enjoying my posters. Those are the only possible explanations of what happened to my posters. Obviously, there is no way I can retrieve the posters that were stolen from me. However, what I have done (and will continue to do) very successfully I must say is convince 15 people (so far) NOT to use Eco movers. I will continue in my efforts to recommend other moving companies. I cannot replace the 12 posters. Some of them are from places I would not dare travel to now such as the National Museum of Moscow. A spot in a Russian prison does not appeal to me. Please do not hire Eco Movers; they are not a honest or honorable company. Eco Movers may not lose your posters; but they could lose your family photographs, your wedding dress or something else equally sentimental. And, remember, you will never recover those memories. read more

Poor service, lying/deceitful crew, and they broke 2 TVs and lied about pre-existing damage, falsifying documents showing picture of damage at delivery location, not at pick up location, wasn't notified or was made aware the picture was taken hmm suspect. Then driver took a shit in my restroom of my new place before I was able to in my new home. Lied about not taking a break, when I waited 30-45 min for them to arrive to new place and it's a 10min drive away. They got lost in the complex ever though they had the directions. Looked unorganized as most times 1 person was working and others were standing around waiting for direction. Then don't take into consideration of breaking my 75in, and 65 in TVs. They aren't cheap then offer me .72 cents per pound on a TVs they broke, which is a slap in the face. So no I am utterly dissatisfied with service and claims department remedy. Prioritizing payment being paid before addressing the damaged cause by team. Then offering a lowball resolution carelessly because it doesn't affect them or their pockets, just mines and I didn't break the TVs your employees did and didn't say anything about it even when they snuck a picture at delivery location. I chose Eco Movers because of their stellar reviews. I called, and the person who answered was friendly and helpful. On moving day the crew was on time, but everything went downhill from there. Once they came in to start moving things, they could not figure out who was going to do what--wasted 15 minutes there, or $55 when considering how much it was costing to hire them. The bad I made the mistake of leaving before they finished loading so that I could make sure the new building was ready for their arrival. They took a dump in the recently cleaned bathroom, so I had to re-clean it. Then, it took them over an hour to get to my new place, which was 15 minutes away, and there was no way to reach them. They said they took 15 minutes of break, and did not charge for the time, but again, one hour. The ugly They ruined a coffee table and a side table... They also lost several things, among them a $500 tripod for my camera, that disappeared during the move. When I called to ask for help, I kept getting sent to talk to someone who always ended up in voicemail, or they would hang up the phone. Can I recommend them to someone? We just wrapped up what I think is our 4th move with Eco Movers! Every time they've moved us, the staff were professional, helpful, and accommodating (shoutout to Glenda and Kirk). We received a thorough and accurate estimate for our house and needs, the eco box rental model is fantastic (no hunting for boxes, having to find somewhere to put boxes later, or tree-consumption), and the moving crew was amazing (yay Tacoma crew!!!). We had a crew of 6 from the Tacoma location who packed up our kitchen and furniture, moved us quickly and professionally, and were just really great guys to hang out with; it was like having friends helping you move, except unlike having friends help you, these guys actually know what they're doing. Not a scratch on any of our things or our homes (previous and new), and they even played with/entertained our dog. I've moved a lot in my life and experienced the whole range; moving by myself, having friends help, hiring other companies. EcoMovers is the very best and will have our business for life. We are not satisfied with the quality of service we received from Eco-Movers. We've moved 3 times over the last 2 years (including one interstate move) and with Eco-Movers we had by far the worst experience. The crew sent to handle our move was inexperienced (the movers looked like school-aged boys) and unprofessional. Couple of examples: - They worked at a slow pace, which resulted in a price significantly over the initial estimate. For example, while loading/unloading they carried boxes one by one, which significantly increased the service time. Other movers we used in the past worked smarter - they put boxes in piles and used wheeled carts to deliver the piles to final destinations, which was much more efficient. - They struggled with disassembling and reassembling our Ikea furniture. It took ages and resulted in couple of damaged screw heads. Other moving companies we used in the past did not have any problems with that and worked very quickly. - They were not able to deliver a small 3-seater couch to a living room upstairs, because they claimed the corners were too tight. In reality they could have easily used the side staircase to do it. - When they arrived, they walked into our apartment without waiting for someone to answer the door. - Last, but not least, they did not offer to roll out the famed red carpets before they started unloading the furniture in our new home. In addition to that, the movers caused some damages: - They were not careful while unloading furniture to my new home and they damaged one of the door frames. - They ripped two palm-sized pieces out of our expensive latex mattress while carrying it around. Latex mattresses are bulky, heavy and difficult to handle, thus we decided to purchase a special mattress bag from Eco-Movers for an additional fee. Unfortunately, the special bag did not help and the mattress got damaged anyway. - Also, the movers damaged a couple of screw heads while disassembling some of our furniture. Now the screws are stuck and we cannot fully disassemble our old trundle. If were could turn back time, we would have gone with Joy Moving company (https://joymoving456.com/) again. Boris, Glenn, and Lon were an amazing team. Arrived exactly when they said they would. They hustled all day in the summer heat. Great communication, no hiccups, nothing broken or even scuffed. No noticeable damage to walls/floors. They wrapped furniture and fragile stuff like our TV in moving blankets and plastic wrap to prevent damage. Before moving anything they put down runners to avoid damaging the floor. Final cost was within 10% of estimate, and we had way more stuff than was on the pre-move inventory (we forgot about stuff in storage). Customer service reached out a few days before, the day of, and after service to check in, and are available over SMS which was very convenient. They also offer delivery of moving boxes, which really helped. We got the 2-3 bedroom kit and it had pretty much everything we needed. Great job all around. read more
