They pulled a ruthless last minute bait and switch that nearly cost us our move. We were moving to an apartment in Seattle on June 13th, which required several scheduled components like parking permits and an elevator reservation. I mentioned those things to Ana Vasquez, our "moving coordinator". Apparently that's a fancy way of saying salesperson because she assured me they could get it done within the parameters and sent an initial estimate. I got worried about the fact they were starting out from Seattle and not our initial location, so I even called back not long after to make sure I could get an earlier start time to make sure we got to Seattle on time. Johnathan Baldelomar answered the phone this time and again assured me everything would fine and we'd hit the time for the elevator reservation. The Tuesday before the move, June 10th, 20 days after the initial booking, Ana Vasquez called me back to confirm the move. There was a "glitch" in their automated system, and it turned out we weren't a local move, we were intrastate, and that meant a flat rate based on a minimum weight of 5000 pounds. We had spent the last few weeks downsizing, so I'd be shocked if our final tally was even 2000 pound, much less 5000. So 4 days before the move, the estimate doubled. Not a deal breaker, but it gets worse. She then slipped in the little detail that the movers may or may not actually deliver our stuff the same day we moved. The entire point of booking a month in advance was to avoid the stress of accounting for a contingency like that, where we basically got to our empty apartment with nothing but the clothes on our back. So all the preparation and planning was dashed to bits by a last minute shakedown. Totally unprofessional. If you can't handle a move with the provided parameters, don't say that you can. I would have just booked someone else. A local company managed to squeeze us in on Saturday, so all was not lost, but I'd say if you are a planner and like to work with honest people, look elsewhere or book an alternate for the inevitable bait and switch just before your move. The move was underestimated, in that it took 3 days instead of 2, and 5 trucks total instead of 2. Aside from this, the move went smoothly. TLDR: Bait and Switch Pricing, Untrained Movers, and a Completely Different Experience Than the Reviews Suggest. We booked with this company after having a hard time finding any bad reviews. This had to be a good sign right? Wrong. This makes it even more shocking how drastically our experience differed from what others had written. I am not one to typically write reviews, but I am hoping this can be a cautionary tale to anyone thinking of booking with Eco Movers. DON'T BE TEMPTED. We were originally quoted $1,500 for a full pack and move of an 800sq ft one bedroom apartment with 2 3x5 storage spaces that only had miscellaneous boxes and just needed shelves wrapped. This seemed like a great deal, we thought maybe they are just super efficient? To be extra careful, we even called ahead and confirmed our inventory with them, they assured us everything looked good and that the quote would hold. But the moment the movers arrived, they immediately changed the estimate to $2,100, even though nothing had changed. This felt like a scripted tactic, as if the crew was trained to upcharge the moment they arrived. However, by the end of the move, the bill had exploded to $3,700, even though the contract we signed makes it very clear that they are not able to charge more than 125% the non-binding quote given on the day of the move. This is a wild over sight that we should not have to fight for, so am saddened that I am being forced to do so. To make matters worse, the moving team was incredibly slow and inefficient. They spent an absurd amount of time hand-wrapping nearly every single item; including plastic Tupperware lids, which obviously don't require that kind of care. They did not use dish packs in the kitchen, even though we ordered and paid for them. The whole job dragged on way longer than necessary, clearly due to poor training, lack of coordination, and a complete absence of leadership and ownership. While the crew was kind, it was hard to watch these extreme inefficiencies go on. Not to mention that they broke the elevator of our building within the last hour of moving things downstairs. Numerous items have been scratched, and they beat up our hand made wooden steps (there are only two steps) to the front door of our new property by aggressively dragging a hand truck up the two steps. It's hard because it seems as if something higher up than the moving crew themselves are what failed here. The crew that was sent had no idea what they were doing and received no back up or help when they clearly needed it. This company was the opposite of transparent, professional, or efficient. If you're considering them, I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere. This felt like a well-practiced scam hidden behind polished (possibly paid for?) reviews. We learned the hard way that you get what you pay for (or in this case are quoted for) and not to go with the "cheapest" option. read more

Ana in customer service was very capable and communicative. The moving team consisting of Jorge, Nathan and Carlos was fantastic! I needed furniture to be moved upstairs and downstairs due to an ongoing remodel. They took care of the furniture (wrapping and padding) as though it were going to be moved cross-country! And they were so careful of the walls, etc. I don't know how they moved that sectional around the corners, but not one scratch! Not to mention polite and efficient. Make sure to ask about all that. The facility is 20 miles or less away and I got charged 1.5 hours travel time. Doubled my bill since the time spent was 1.5 hours unloading. I was caught off guard. When questioned, the man told me they charged 30 minutes "in case there is traffic plus an extra 15 minutes" but no explanation. He called their manager and he said to pay the cost and then ask later for a dispute Just being honest here, but I would recommend their service part of it, the 2 men were awesome and very careful and helpful. read more
