JD was the sales rep. Funny and likeable guy - ....I bought the filtration system under the sink and RO softener in the garage..about $5600 gross (4% back if you have cost co card). I did little research and made decision almost solely on the attachment to cost co knowing to be a vendor they had to survive mass scrutiny and quality measures. The water we tasted from JD at time of sale could have been Aquafina as I had no idea where source of water he gave us came from. Ideally I would have liked to have a third party test the water and produce their water from a house in our neighborhood who has their system already (which would have the same original water supply) but that was not possible naturally. The system and had it installed recently by Fabian who was on time and answered any questions and was very kind as well. He was clean too - no mess left behind. We already feel the difference of softer water and really like the taste of the filtered water from the new sink installed spout. I blind tested water with my wife - tap before eco vs Aquafina vs sparketts (Pepsi challenge if you will) and my wife picked eco water #1---so that's a great sign. We will see if my skin issues improve - because if they do, I'd pay even more than $5600 . Overall great experience so far! read more

They sent a technician to repair my water softener. Technician showed up and told me the unit is too old and not repairable. He did not touch anything and do any work. We agreed on purchasing a replacement unit for over $3k. They charged me $125 service call to have someone to sell me a new $3k new softener. They want to charge me another $200 installation fee on the new unit. Most company would credit $125 service call because we agreed to buy a new unit. Called them several times regarding the issue. They promise to call back multiple times but never follow through. This is a very unethical company. I gave them $200 deposit for the installation and they promised to send a refund check on 9/26. It is 10/25 and I still have not received the refund check of $200. Considering filing a small claim case. Stay away from these crooks. read more

We purchased our eco water reverse osmosis system through Costco but had been horrible about keeping up with filter replacement. Unsure which to purchase I reached out via email to their support and Marissa promptly responded with everything I needed. As I had additional questions, she answered them right away on the same email thread. The customer service is fantastic and she also offered to send someone out if we were having any problems with the system. We had the option to purchase the filters through a third-party site but stayed direct due to the customer service. read more

I'm updating my previous one star review. A rat built a nest and made its home in the unit, above the water tank. I had to clean it out myself because EcoWater wouldn't touch the rat or nest. They were going to charge me $500 (later lowered to $300) to fix and sanitize the unit. I found that excessive and wrote a negative review. After talking with the customer service manager, they finally agreed to repair and sanitize the unit for only $150. I then agreed to edit my previous review. The system is working fine now. I have rat-proofed the unit myself. I used a strong wire mesh around the back of the unit where the input and output pipes are located. I strongly recommend doing this rat-proofing with any soft water system that is not a completely closed system. read more

Recently, we were notified by the system that it was time to re-fill the Potassium (we don't use salt due to health concerns). We called the company and arranged for delivery. We then received a follow-up call from the sales representative, Kevin Rankins, who was checking to make sure we had everything we needed. Justin did a fantastic job helping us with two projects. He was very knowledgeable, positive, and professional. Justin will try to work with you as much as he can to get you what you want. We had a crowded boiler room (we really wanted the tanks in there), he took the extra effort to organized the tanks and equipment in a way that was safe and effective even though it would have been easier to just put the tanks in the garage. There were many other instances where he worked above and beyond to accommodate what we wanted without sacrificing safety and function. It was a stress free process. We installed EcoWater in our new home and have been using it since and its great. We heard about them from Costco and thought it must be a good company if Costco works with them. So we had a unit installed and it was seamless. After about 1 year we had a water leak from the spout and called someone to come look at it and someone came out to look at it right before our trip to the snow. When we got back, we found that there was water on the floor and under the sink. We called them and someone came out to look at the water leak and they fixed it and also gave us money to fix the cabinets. I'm glad they took care of it after they saw the damage. Because they took care of the damage, I will continue to work with them because they have integrity. read more

The first problem was when it was leaking immediately they came out and fixed it and said they wouldn't be charging me for the follow up visit that was necessary a few days after the initial install. That should have been the first red flag. I replaced the filters about 7 months ago but a week and a half ago we start noticing floating particles. This is worrisome because our two young children drink this water all day long. When I touched the floater it turned black on my skin! That's really bad. I emailed twice to get some guidance and got a response after the 2nd email. I was told to call and someone would come take a look by the project manager Joel. I called to schedule an appointment after explaining our two year old system is undrinkable and was told it was a $99 fee to come out. Please do your homework before doing business with this company. I wish I had. The do not have favorable reviews. The filters are proprietary and cost much more then their competitors. We were planning on purchasing a water softener system for out home but we will definitely not be using Eco Water! read more

Eco water was one of 5 companies we interviewed. Being represented at Costco and owned by Berkshire Hathaway, they are the most reputable company in this business. The local EcoWater distributor in San Diego was very attentive to our concerns and needs. We struggled a bit with paying more for their system ($2,900 vs $2,200 with the next closest competitor), but their warranties and service made all of the difference. If you are looking for softened water that will truly make a difference in your every day life, from cooking to washing to handling allergies, dry skin, etc., then I truly recommend you let EcoWater bid against the competition and see what they, and this San Diego/Orange County dealer have to offer. I was so excited when I saw the water oftener are being sold in Costco. The Ecowater sent a person called Kevin Rankins who was so patient to explain the details and shown us some experiments of the waters. I tasted the water and decided to give it a try. I have heard about the softener water but I never knew it was good or just the same as regular water. I went to Costco and a sales person offered me the water softener that they were promoting. I registered and the sale came out where it explained more details. They just set up a whole system for a week. First time, I took a shower. I went out and I felt a big difference for my skin. It is more soft without using lotion and my hair as well, more shine without milky spotly crust. I don't have to spend more time to clean up. It is more cleaner than regular water. I had drank the water and I feel big difference too. To my experience, it is worth to have a water softener for long term investment. It makes your life better. I strongly recommend you need to use the water softener. You will fall in love with it. read more
