Usually I have little in the way of high expectations when dealing with online or phone customer service to resolve product or service problems. Often the person on the other end of the phone is in another country with poor English speaking skills or I'm left on hold for 20-30 minutes. With Ecowater and Alex Hernandez I got a pleasant customer service surprise. I was greeted quickly and in a very professional manner and my service problem was addressed and resolved in both an expeditious and completely satisfactory manner. We purchased a water softening & RO system from EcoWater in 2018 via a promotion from Costco and were delighted with the entire process. The systems worked perfectly until recently when we noticed our house water was gradually becoming harder and the unit not recharging. The EcoWater office dispatched technician Justin who arrived on time and quickly identified and fixed the problem. (An impeller that measures incoming water flow was stuck, so it had been reporting zero water flow and hence no need to recharge the resin pellets.) Justin replaced the impeller and also took the time to review all the settings on the unit to confirm that all were correct. Very happy with the system and the service. read more

the technician showed up on time and was very knowledgeable on the systems for my RO and water softener. He had my RO system up and running in a jiffy and diagnosed the water softener issue quickly and had it loaded up for regeneration quickly. I'll follow-up with the final close out on how the water softener worked next week. I called today to schedule the re-install and the service person (Miguel?) was VERY helpful, had a great sense of humor and accommodating for scheduling the water softener re-installation. read more

Following up on my 4/5/18 review - Our water is so noticeably different and is now soft and sudsy. Calcium deposits on kitchen faucet sprayer nozzle have vanished. Finally, our hard-hard San Diego water is gone soft. Then on 4/19/18 Kevin from Ecowater paid us a follow-up visit to retest water. All went well, and my wife and I were very happy with the soft-water results. Kevin didn't realize the Wi-Fi was included with the system. I had it already connected to my laptop, so we could see the water softening system settings from my PC. Cool. Furthermore, Kevin said to call him in one years' time and he would return for another follow-up test/evaluation, at no charge! Such-a-deal. Coincidently, during Kevin's visit my wife realized that the reverse osmosis (R/O) drinking water filtration system, on special, was included for an additional $175, she changed her mind about another hole in the granite countertop and subsequently the R/O system was installed the following week on 4/26/18. Unfortunately, the following week, 5/1/18, the R/O unit sprung a leak in one of the two charcoal filters. For the most part, the extra cut-off-switch prevented a major catastrophe by stemming the steady flow of water. But some of the residual water in the filter and tank did leak out under the sink causing minimal damage that I was able to soak up immediately after I discovered the puddle. Fortunately, I was home that day to act quickly by turning off the water and tank lines under the sink and opened the R/O water faucet to release pressure. I called the office and explained the situation to Sean and he was able to dispatch a technician in 1-hour! Surprisingly, the tech showed up with a new charcoal filter cylinder cartridge in hand with no other tools. He went straight for the leaking cylinder (pre-filter cartridge) and unscrewed it. He took his finger and wiped the inside of the screw top and showed me a tiny spec, about the size of a grain of sand, and concluded that to be the cause of the problem. He went on to say that such leaks are rare and that a close inspection on new R/O systems equipment, including cartridges, is necessary to prevent this. All things considered, customer service, responsiveness, price, knowledge, warranty, reliability, etc., my wife and I are completely satisfied and I would heartily recommend EcoWater San Diego with Costco underwriting the contract. read more

The installer Victor Deniz deserves a 5-star rating. Eco Water sent out a medium grade copper where as the top grade copper was demanded during the sales process. The best model that costs over $8,000 should have the best pipes to accompany the system. Victor received change order from his boss of Eco Water to replace the plumbing, it took Victor all day, what a hard working young man, a diligent soul! I have bought a house, and it has ecowater system, so i called them to come cuz I want them to bring the salt. The employee came and looked at it and said I need to get a new one cuz this is the old style. So I realized there you go "marketing". I haven't even purchased anything from this company yet and already had a bad experience a couple hours ago. My husband made an appointment with a representative at Costco. I wasn't aware that both my husband and I needed to be home for this appointment. When Kevin arrived, he seemed polite. But when he found out my husband wasn't home it was like he flipped personalities. He spoke to me in a very arrogant, condescending, cocky tone and asked "Well, you guys make decisions together, don't you?" and he just seemed very irritated that I was wasting his time. Even now as I'm typing this I'm still in shock that someone would come into my home and speak to me like this. I'm sure he would be upset if a man, some stranger, came into his home and spoke to his significant other or his daughter the way he spoke to me today. I've read the reviews. The story is my daughter and I went to COSTCO and we were checking out , COSTCO had a POWER OUTAGE and all the cash register WAS NOT WORKING . I noticed a rep we standing next to the water treatment booth since we had to wait anyways till the power went back up, I made an appointment because I've been wanting one for the longest time . JD was the sales rep, and he came to my house the next very day . He tested my water and I was sold . JD was so professional and informative about the company and the water system.
