I've been here twice now, and unfortunately, I haven't been particularly impressed either time. On my first visit, I ordered the buffalo cauliflower, which I found overly sauced and it just didn't hit the mark. During my second visit, the experience was again underwhelming. Despite ordering very simple dishes, we ended up waiting well over an hour for our food, which made the meal feel more frustrating than enjoyable. We came in today to leave a flyer for the event we're holding and the staff was so nice! She was super friendly and offered us water. We ended up having brunch here and it did not disappoint! The food was delicious, we got the crispy chicken sandwich and the Cesar salad from the brunch menu. The chicken had a Smokey seasoning, with the perfect amount of heat. The bun the had toasted cheese, bacon and pickles too. Now for the salad- very good portion size, the croutons were seasoned similarly to the chicken, and we also added grilled chicken to ours. We're Brooklyn transplants who are slowly discovering spots in Jersey City and we highly recommend the food and drinks here. they're waitstaff are so nice, know the menu item quality and have great personalities. They went all out with t swift drinks, meals, balloons, and a cardboard cutout of hers truly. This was my first time at Ed & Mary's - everyone working there was super friendly. It's not a big place inside, but they have a good amount of outdoor seating. They are super dog friendly and many people showed up with their pups. Ed and Mary's is my kind of relaxed bar in Jersey City. I have visited a few times to play darts and always have a good time. The outdoor seating is great, especially if you have a dog, all the staff are so friendly and bring water to your table. On my last visit I had the caprese sandwich and really enjoyed it. The bread, cheese, pesto, tomato proportions were spot on and the good quality ciabatta bread really made the sandwich stand out. This is such a common vegetarian option on menus, it is nice to see it done really well! Service was also great, our server was so nice and welcoming. The inside was a bit too loud for my taste that morning, but the neighborhood was beautiful and the staff let us sit at the tables outside. Inside is a bar and whatvlooked like a few tables. We ordered a few beers and a freshly made unsweetened tea. Sandwiches were 2 KFC Sandos, fried chicken, cucumber, coleslaw, and kim-chi aioli on a sesame brioche bun along with one Cubano, 15hr slow cooked pork, ham, swiss, pickles and mustard on ciabatta. Along with the sandwiches, we had 2 orders of french fries, which was more rhan enough for the 3 of us. Sandwiches were all tasty and large in size. Service was slow at the beginning but after that service was very good. Drinks and food came to about $60. A very extensive beer list for the humans, along with water bowls for the puppies. Stumbled upon this wonderful little restaurant after taking our pup to the park. They have outside seating which was awesome! We were immediately greeted by our waitress Erin. She brought our dog a treat and greeted him as well. We happened to stop in during brunch so we ordered a few things off the menu. We got the cauliflower, the Brussel sprouts, chicken wings, and a quesadilla. Everything was packed with flavor. The Brussel sprouts were buttery and crunchy. The cauliflower was drizzled with buffalo sauce and just perfect. The chicken wings were on the smaller side but sooo delicious!! They were kind enough to allow us to have half Buffalo sauce and have thai chili sauce on the wings. We had to order another round, they were so tasty! We just took our new adopted puppy to brunch for the first time and this was the perfect location. It's very dog-friendly and is in a beautiful area with a welcoming atmosphere. The drink and food prices are very reasonable compared to the city and the service and food came quickly. The chicken sandwich I order was delicious with a crispy bread and great salad as the side. My wife's tacos had a really good chipotle mayo but the eggs were too brown and it was missing some toppings, which is the only reason why we gave it a 4 instead of 5.
