This place was so much fun! A little on the pricey side but the quality of the food and the entertainment that the staff provided is well worth it! My youngest stepson couldn't stop smiling and laughing the whole meal. Priceless! Our server, Axel, was absolutely hilarious and so good with the boys. As for the food, I absolutely loved my 6 year way chili. My husband and stepsons all enjoyed their food. For dessert, my husband got a chocolate malt, my stepsons shared a piece of chocolate cake and I had a cherry float. They all really enjoyed theirs. My Cherry float (pictured) was extremely messy and hard to eat. I did not care for the cherry syrup by itself but it was delicious with the vanilla ice cream! The return of Ed Debvic's! The restaurant is very clean! I was surprised the host or waitress didn't inform us of the 'rude' theme of the restaurant. While I was aware and willing to play along, I know many people will wonder in from the street completely unaware. Our waitress was funny and entertaining. While we were there the staff got on the counter and started dancing to YMCA. The food tasted good. Nothing special. I will say I think it's a little over priced. I can get chicken tender and fries at most restaurants for less than $10. Ed's is about $16. Overall a very nice place to stop in to grab a quick bite, especially for the out of town folk. read more

If I could rate this a ZERO I would. My Brother & Sister-in-Law came into town and we wanted to try someplace we havent been before so we decided to try this place. What a HUGE mistake! We knew what kind of atmosphere it was there and were fully ready to take it and give it right back - have some fun with it. What we werent ready for was the complete lack of humanity towards someone with medical conditions that cause them to ask questions about how things are prepared. My SIL is a TWO-TIME MULTIPLE ORGAN TRANSPLANT SURVIVOR and is having medical issues after her last transplant so she needed to know what seasonings were on the burger. Your waiter - BUZZY- gave a rolled eye response (which was fine - expected), walked away to get our drinks and came back to being told this was for medical reasons but then proceeded to make her feel like absolute shit for needing to know these things and told her that if she couldnt handle the way things were made there that we should just fucking leave. Which is exactly what we did with her in tears. Roll your eyes, be a sarcastic asshole, treat people like crap.... but if someone has a LEGIT reason to need certain answers - maybe try to be human too. read more

It's lost a lot it's charm from 20+ years ago, and the current location makes it way harder to enjoy what makes this place so unique; unless you are lucky enough to be seated in the right place. We weren't, and so we couldn't see the dancing, couldn't see how the other servers were acting, and didn't get to enjoy the vibe of the place. He threw our menus on the table, slammed down our silverware and drinks, gave us dirty looks and eye rolls when we were ordering. Ed's is so much fun. I loved the old style diner decor. The colors in the restaurant were beautiful. Primarily blue and white. It's just a really clean, crisp look. Big place within Chicago's Magnificent Mile. The food was very good, with the exception of my fries. They were just OK. We started off with a couple of beers and cheese curds. I'm no cheese curd connoisseur, but I thought these were really good. My patty melt was outstanding. Delicious marbled sour dough bread, toasted. The patty was perfect with cheese and caramelized onions. I hadn't had a patty melt in a long time and really enjoyed it. My wife had a Chicago dog, and she really enjoyed her meal, too. All the servers did a little song and dance halfway through dinner. Everyone who works here does a great job. Great experience here! Will definitely try and make it back. read more

He thought it was a comedian, but was not funny at all and was really insulting which we expected, but then told us he wasn't kidding. We had a blast at Ed's. The new location is a little more centrally located and an easy walk just north of the river near Michigan. Our server was hilariously salty and rude but delivered great service at the same time. The food is pretty good but nothing to write home about. The only thing I don't like about this location is if you're seated by the door, you can't see the singing and dancing. Unfortunately we were, but our server made up for it.
