I have had nothing but issues with my car since I've bought it and it hasn't even been two years. I would never recommend this place. This is the place I got my beloved G8. Now, any dealership you go to is going to try to take your money but these guys have their own method. I got robbed on my trade in. It was worth 10,000 maybe 9,000 private party value and they offered me 4,000 for it. I told them to get real so they offered 5,000 after that. Then they started feeding me some bull about Pontiac going out of business and how the cars don't sell for much anymore. At this point I had been there about 2 hours already and had visited a different dealership earlier that day. I was tired and really had my heart set on the new car. In retrospect, I should have just kept my trade-in and sold it privately. Beware, they will knock thousands of dollars off the sticker price of a new car but will screw you on your trade in. I was in there last Saturday to see about trading in my car that I previously purchased from Ed Martin. I knew that I was upside down but wanted to see what I could do or what I needed to work for. I talked to a salesman who told me he would need more time and help to work on my situation but would get back to me on Monday. He never did, nor did his sales manager, even after I called and left messages. I worked with another non Ed Martin dealer today though and they showed me with a small down payment I could get what I want. So rude. I leased a car from them for 39 months and made all my payments on time. I dropped off the vehicle 2 days before my lease period ended. They never informed GM financial (the leasing company) that the car has been dropped off. GM is still asking me for money. I have talked to both companies even though I have paid my dues and at this point GM's money is with Ed Martin. An Ed Martin salesperson told me he took care of the matter and I thought everything was handled only to find my credit score dropping significantly. If you have worked hard on your credit score, do yourself a favor and stay away from them. read more

I purchased a 2018 GMC sierra brand new in September. I took it in to be serviced after buying due to an awful rattle in the driver door and driver side speaker that wasn't working. Three visits later all the rattle is still there and you cant listen to any type of music with the left speaker due to the distortion. Ed Martin said its a known issue and there is nothing they can do to help. Worst customer service by both GM and Ed Martin, I will never buy a car from their dealership again. Excellent customer service. We worked worked with Carol in service for a warranty defect on our 2017 GMC Acadia. Carol and Brett the service manager went out of their way to communicate a very complicated problem and get us driving accommodations with the same luxuries we had in our car to make sure we had a great spring break while our car was getting fixed. The dealership did a great job with holding my car for an extended period of time, they got the work done. The only downside is that when I finally picked up my car, it wasn't washed nor would my car start.I didn't have time to run back into the service department to advise them, however my boyfriend and I jumped my car on the property. read more

I visited the service center yesterday for what I thought was a recall, but turned out to just be a warranty covered issue. Everyone with whom I worked was kind, friendly and eager to help. They wouldn't let me leave until the problem was diagnosed and the vehicle was fixed. The liason between me and the mechanic was very personable, knowledgeable and concerned. I spoke to the mechanic personally as he tried to troubleshoot. When they realized it was going to take awhile, a loaner vehichle was given to me at no cost (and without me having to request it- at my old shop I'd have to request one and often made to feel as if I was asking too much). I could go on and on with examples of why they are great, but to sum it up, Ed Martin Service Center just does what one would expect from any service shop- they take care of you and your car with they kindness and care they would use with their own family. read more

Very unhappy with Ed Martin Buick GMC. When I bought my car, I was told my first oil change would be free. There also was a brake light out that I was told would be fixed free of charge. When I took my car in to get the oil change, not only did I have to wait over 2 hours for it to be changed, they charged me over $60 for it. They didn't have the parts required to fix the brake light and told me they would call me when they did. I have yet to receive a call (even though they said they would have it the later that day) and was still charged for them to fix it. Would not recommend them to anyone! read more

While I drive an older Pontiac Vibe, I always leave from the oil change with a list of services they recommend. While they don't put a lot of pressure on to purchase the services (depending on what's needed), there's a list every time. There was one time, shortly after I changed the passenger cabin air filter myself, that only a few short months later they told me the passenger cabin air filter needed replaced. Just made me suspicious. While I value safety and thoroughness of inspection, it's frustrating to always be sold additional services. read more

very negative experience and this is why: 1) a mechanic could not reproduce the problem so i had to drive and point to the problem myself, which he then acknowledged; 2) they first identified one cause, quoted me for it, then later gave a higher quote saying the first one was mistaken; 3) be aware if you mention any problem with your vehicle when scheduling a service -- they will charge you minimum $120 extra. their web site did not say anything in this regard; 4) apparently this dealership has no issue sharing your personal information with third parties. i got a promo letter from sirius xm today thanking me for bringing my car for a service to this dealer. what an awful way to make extra bucks. read more

My sales representative, Richard gave me very detailed information I wanted and was very honest on the information of the car. That's what I really appreciated. I purchased a Certified 2012 GMC Sierra 1500 with 13,000 miles when I went to pick it up it had hail damage that they tried to get me to accept that way. I told the salesperson I would not buy a 13,000 miles certified vehicle new to me vehicle with hail damage. The manager had already left and the salesman had to call him. Then when it came to the paperwork we had agreed to a total price out the door then they raised it $160. My father grew up with ed martin jr and sure he would be embarrassed with customers getting treated this way. Now they are fixing the hail damage and I have to make 2 trips because they couldn't get it all done and don't have another opening for 2 weeks. Best car buying experience ever! Rick McCoy and Nolan Crum made our car buying experience wonderful. After visiting numerous dealerships in Avon and Plainfield, we ended up going to Ed Martin. There was no haggling, no pressure to purchase a new vehicle. (Unlike numerous other dealerships we had visited.) Rick walked us step by step through all of our concerns. He made us feel comfortable and put our minds at ease. Nolan showed us all of the "ins" and "outs" of our new vehicle, and made us feel comfortable enough to drive our car off the lot. We were prepared to buy a newer car, and decided to come to Ed Martin because of positive feedback we read online. We did not receive the service we expected/deserved. It started out nice, Eric was seemingly helpful and the transaction was smooth. We purchased a Buick Regal and I had asked a few questions about the car's timing chain, and they assured me there were no issues. A few days go by after our purchase, and the Regal begins to make a grinding noise. We immediately called and took it back in and I talked with Carol about a possible timing chain issue. She explained it would throw all kinds of engine codes if it was the timing chain. They gave us a rental for a few days and "fixed" the issue. A few days later we hear it again. I drive it all the way back to Carmel and remain extremely patient with them, and explain to Carol and Brett at this point that we have spent a nice chunk of money on this Buick, and would like for them to look at the timing chain. And this is when my experience turned from bad to worse. I again explained that I thought it was the timing chain. Carol begins to get a little of an attitude with me and explains that they will not just look at the timing chain without codes popping up. She said they would keep the car but they are short on rentals, so they would need the rental back the next day. I explained to them that the proper service of this vehicle should not be based on how quickly they need the rental back. They kept the car for a week, but wanted the rental back within 24 hours so we were down a car for a week. We got the Buick back and they explained there was nothing wrong. We heard it within 30 minutes, and again on a cold start about 4 to 5 hours later. This is not the business I do with my customers and we were expecting an extraordinary experience, and we received unbelievably bad service. I do not wish this kind of headache on anyone, and I hope this review is helpful for those wanting to know a little more about this dealership. read more
