Our server, while efficient, didn't know what an ice wine was and wasn't sure about dessert wines or ports. I didn't bother to ask about cognacs. Upon arrival she asked if we'd dined there before (we had) and were we celebrating (we were). No mention of a complementary glass of bubbly or a dessert to celebrate our anniversary. Why did she ask? If you try it out some of the side rooms are more cozy. We were sat in the main dining area where the hostess felt the need to pull out the table as if she were pulling out a chair. While sweet, it was awkward. The music could have been more appropriate. While I love Fleetwood Mac, America, and Steely Dan, I was wanting something like Michael Buble and the Rat Pack crooners. This place has gone down hill over the past years. The wait staff has inadequate training and the food is subpar. Id much rather have spent my money at texas roadhouse. I ordered the prime ribeye, the cook and sear were great but there was zero flavor, the creamy horseradish tasted like sour cream with a hint of horseradish, peppercorn sauce was also bland, baked potato was swimming in butter. I barely got any refills on my coke. The french onion soup was spot on, the potstickers were okay since the pastry was kind of doughy. We had to ask for bread when our entre got served. Our waitress never once cleaned off the tables from crumbs or anything, not that there were many since we got our bread at the end. We had to box our own food. We've been coming to this location for 7 years and we will not be returning. Waste of $270. Bill was $222, i didnt take out the lack of flavor on the waitress. My husband and I have a date night once a month. We take turns picking the place, and this time it was my turn. I am the queen of Yelp and Google Reviews to do my research. And the reviews barely touch how great this place was! I wish I could remember the young lady who greeted us, but it began there! She let us know (by her actions) that we were in for a fantastic experience. After being seated, less than 3 minutes, we were introduced to Simon, what I can only describe as concierge, not waiter. Simon literally picked out our whole meal. From our wine, main course, desserts, and coffee. Gorgeous classy and relaxed dining, top tier beverage sips, and overall refined steakhouse experience, us three guys enjoyed a Tuesday masters degree celebration at the bar tabletop here. Alex was fantastic and took care of us throughout the evening, which upon learning she's been here for seven years, all makes sense! My Rye Tiki cocktail was phenomenal, I always default to the thing with passion fruit and my rule did right with that liquid dream shaken not stirred. I recommend the bourbon for the more serious fellows of the Irish persuasion and the ruby red spritz for those wanting to stay sober. Thankfully we were not hungry since the main menu does live up to the overall elevated ceiling and exquisite decor of the main dining room. We noticed all of the main meats begin in the fifties. Would expect anyone going for courses to need a thick wallet indeed, which for the well-trained executive is all part of the fun, but for the uninitiated quite the surprise, so the bar! I really wanted to try elk or bison but as we were not that famished or holding inheritance the happy meal bites served. I noticed they were literally bites, nibbled and they disappeared clean off the plates. The Ahi and filet mignon happy meal apps were tasty albeit as usual with appetizers the calorie count is well under the prices. I would like to see a broader bar menu Fleming's style that lines up with the casual hungry game watching. My buddies sampled the prime steak burger and lobster mac and cheese, can easily vouch for the burger since I think I saw it for minute. Tried the lobster Mac, wow, possibly the best out of rounded comparisons from Red Seven in my own city to besting even the smug dishes at Ocean Prime and Flemings. RIP. I sure do miss Flemings! A group of girlfriends headed out to dinner to celebrate my birthday and I forgot just how good this spot is. The drinks are strong and great! A nice appetizer selection and one of the best steaks in Indy. We opted for simple mashed potatoes and mushrooms as our sides but it was no disappointment. We headed here to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. This is a very elegant place to grab a meal. One thing to note is that lighting is quite low in the main dining area. I went completely alone but felt like I was with a party of 5, as always :) the staff is always extremely excellent at making each visit memorable. I first went solo when I was 17, I'm now 25 and I received the exact same experience; priceless. The pictures speak for themselves. The food is always insanely perfect. The ambiance is a 20 out of 10. I always love my trips to Eddie Merlots. Haven't been here in forever, but was craving a good meal. To my surprise they had a 3 course prix fix menu for $39. Now, I learned my lesson prior not to do these items because the quality is typically reduced, but for this one they were not. We sat in the bar area and were immediately comfortable. staff very warm and welcoming. They offered half price bottles of wine and $3 off specialty cocktails. I get the same thing every tome the eddies pineapple infusion. They take svedka vodka and soak it in pineapples and dispense. Simple strong and yummy. Tried a new item, the sweet and spicy shrimp. I love when we ordered it out the server vouched for how good it was and we weren't disappointed. Great flavor, and the texture of the shrimp was perfect ( I know that sounds weird but sometimes with these kind of recipes they can be a bit chewy) Got the grilled romaine salad....this is SOMETHING SPECIAL!!!!! In fact I'm wondering if my craving to go back right now is from this or the steak. It'd be hard to choose. It was perfect. I was tossed between two items and ended up getting filet Oscar style. 4 oz filet with king crab asparagus and bernaise sauce, delivered straight from heaven. Steak cooked perfectly, the cut of steak was perfect. The flavor was incredible. I melted in those comfy bar seats within the first bite. Wow!!! For dessert I got key lime pie as you could choose between 3 desserts. It's hard for me to find key lime pie I like places and this was one of the better ones I supposed, however if you really want dessert get the creme brûlée. Not sure what all the hoopla is about it was just. OK the three stars is because Lauren was wonderful. It was a thin piece of salmon for $60 lunch minus 11.00 for the cake. I did the sixty south salmon and it was just warm cedar plank, not a big deal it was flavorless. Thank goodness I had a lemon wedge that helped broccoli how can you mess that up but it was cold the mashed potatoes to salty and they were cold for dessert. I ordered the carrot cake and even though they gave me two big hunks of it it wasn't special. I believe it's something they're just trying to get rid of at this point. I didn't go crazy for it. Not a whole lot to say about the food. I never have to eat here again! The bathroom had a big leak on the floor. The building looks to be kind of old and dated. Appetizers were fair, salads actually quite good but drowning in dressing. Steaks were done properly, as one would expect from a higher-end steak restaurant. This was my first visit, but definitely not my last! I often refuse to go to the fancy steakhouses, but I'm certainly glad I chose to try Eddie Merlot's! We started with the beef carpaccio and would order it again and again and again. It was beautifully plated and incredibly delicious! The best carpaccio I have ever had! I had to have a classic wedge salad and their Bleu cheese dressing did not disappoint. It truly was the best I've ever had. I can't remember the name of my dish but it had a 4oz filet with mashed potatoes, shrimp, and andoullie sausage with a creole sauce. My friend had the prime ribeye cooked medium rare. Both dishes were delicious! We were so full, but we couldn't pass on creme brulee and wereao glad we didn't. The custard was so smooth and creamy. It was perfect! The service was truly extraordinary. My family and I went to dinner while my brother was in town during the holidays. Eddie Merlot's was one place that could accommodate our size party. We were grateful for that in itself. We got there and it was very quiet. It was a first time for everyone in the party. We were seated quickly. The atmosphere was wonderful. Not too bright, but just enough we could read our menus with no problem. They had a variety of things that our little kiddos could eat. We tried the oysters and they were amazing. I was even able to get my 7 year old to try one and she loved them! My dad told me his Manhattan was the best one he's had at any restaurant. I got a side Caesar salad and the crab bisque before dinner. They were both delicious. The bisque was so creamy with good chunks of crab In it. My caesar was fresh and the dressing was just enough. I believe the only complaint we had about food were the bones in my mom's and sister's sea bass. They also mentioned it wasn't very flavorful, unfortunately. I had the filet and shrimp. The shrimp was also pretty bland, and didn't look very presentable on the plate; however, the filet was amazing. I was very pleased with that. Overall, besides it taking a while for our apps to come out and the flavorless sea bass, we enjoyed dinner. I would like to try it again, but I cannot say the same for everyone in the party. Chose this place to celebrate my husband's birthday and we couldn't have been happier. Our waitress, Cecilia was amazing and gave us fantastic service! The ambiance is upscale but cozy! We went with friends and our table very comfortably sat 8 of us without being squished or too close to another table. The drinks were delicious as well as the Blueberry Mocktail that was recommended.
