Absolutely loved our dinner. Visited San Diego for my husbands bday & booked a reservation for a Saturday night on our trip. When we sat down there was a card wishing him a happy bday. Had Terri for our server who was absolutely fantastic. Our party of four split two full entrées, which was very reasonably priced for the quality. 4/5 Complimentary bread was great but the butter was cold which we all agreed we didn't understand. Having room temp butter would've been better. We asked for it to be warmed up and it was perfect :) 5/5 Ceasar salad. My hubs loved it. Said it was his fav. 4/5 wedge salad. This was good, but portion was smaller and the blue cheese was just dressing vs crumbles. 5/5 22 oz bone in rib-eye with a blue cheese crust 5/5 Garlic mashed potatoes were flavorful and plentiful 5/5 Brussels sprouts were perfectly cooked and seasoned 5/5 truffle mac & cheese was a winner My husband and I split the ribeye and were incredibly stuffed... we ordered three sides between four people, and there was still food left over that we couldn't take since we were traveling. He received a complimentary bday platter which included 4 full size cookies and what I think may have been a banana rum cake of sorts along with a happy bday message and it was a wonderful touch. This is my second time at Eddie V's but the first time at this location, and both times my experience has been phenomenal. I'd absolutely come back again any chance I can get!

    Bananas Foster Butter Cake

We tried Eddie V's in December 2025, as a meal after attending a company holiday reception and we had a bad experience. We were not fans at that time. I didn't review because I wanted to give them another try. Fast forward 6 months, and we decided to give Eddie V's Seaport Village/The Headquarters location another try yesterday, May 2026. We are happy that we made that decision. Upon arrival. The hostesses at the maître d' station asked if we were dining or if we wanted to join the bar for happy hour, also know as "Eddie's Hour". There is a special menu with AWESOME "teaser" options, live music, and an excellent staff in the bar during "Eddie's Hour". Our server was Crystal, she was FABULOUS! Crystal answered all of our questions and she was very customer service oriented and friendly. She made us feel special as customers. We also had Erick on our serving staff team. He was very customer service oriented and he made us feel valued as customers. We ordered from the HH Menu: 2 filet Mignon sliders teaser, Lobster lollipops (5), 2 mocktails, and "The Icon" sushi roll. Our dessert selection was the Bananas Foster Butter Cake and some yummy chocolate chunk cookies. Everything tasted delicious and was prepared very very well. Bananas Foster Butter Cake had a bit too much rum sauce but it was very decadent. Next time, I will pass on the brûlée and just have the butter cake without it. During our experience, the manager, Max, came out to check on us to see if we were enjoying everything. This was a very professional gesture and we really appreciated meeting him. Overall, we will definitely return and this was a wonderful visit and choice. Thanks!

White Rice with Soy Sauce ($16, yikes)

In San Diego, if you want exquisite seafood and fish entrees that surpass even the Misoyaki Butterfish from Roy's, Eddie V's (or EV) is the place to book for dinner. Its a classy place with white tablecloths and top-notch service, and very welcoming. Rowdy toddlers are welcome too since they offer a kid's menu and has some quite corners in the restaurant. Plus a Jazz Musician and singer of classic Elton John songs helps keep the mood clam and mellow. The one absolute must-have dish is the steamed Chilean Sea Bass, Hong Kong style. Yes, steamed white fish with ginger-scallion soy sauce is quintessential in Chinese banquets, but I've yet to see a fish this thick yet so perfectly moist orepared this way. At just under $60, its a whole lot more fish compared to Roy's Butterfish. The other must-get dish is the Maryland Crabcakes. Much larger than a hockey puck and its packed with savory crab meat and no filler. No starchy binders to artificially hold it together, and trying to cut it with a fork results in all the scrumptious crab pouring out. You'll get full eating this. The Norwegian Salmon was also cooked perfectly - flakey and juicy, and I like the semi-sweet glaze. But man that Sea Bass was just memorable. The Kid Menu have basics liked grilled chicken and crispy fries. Our 5yo son was having some minor protests and ate very little chicken. He surprisingly devoured the green salad and not-surprisingly the vanilla ice cream dessert. Note - order the default side dishes. If you ask for plain white rice, it's still $16. Its better to get truffled mashed potatoes or some veggies in that case. Also be wary that all menu items come with Calorie labels on menus. Not sure if they're catering to the health-conscience folks or just being transparent. Because that 2000+ calorie Banana Foster served table-side was so tempting. You need 3-4 people in that case to split the calories, LOL!

    Birthday decor with champagne toast

My fiance and I recently visited Eddie V's while on vacation for his birthday were SO IMPRESSED. 10/10 on everything from our server, the food, the drinks, their birthday presentation, the live music, and the vibe. We couldn't have asked for a better server than Robert! He was on top of it and so accommodating and knowledgable on the entire menu. He went above and beyond for my fiance's birthday from the table decor, to the champagne toast, to the birthday dessert. He even gave us a little history about the building and we were so interested in that as well. We ordered a wedge salad to begin, followed by a blue cheese crusted NY strip, truffle mac and cheese, and asparagus. Absolutely everything was AMAZING. Big kudos to the chef! I had the Patron margarita that they serve straight up - and wow. I've never had a margarita like that but I now know that it's my favorite. They had live jazz music in the next room that set the mood and I believe he said they have it every night. We visit SD every year and we can definitely see ourselves coming back. Thank you for the memorable birthday dinner! :)

10 oz Center Cut Filet Mignon with South African Lobster

What a place. I came here to celebrate my 5 year wedding anniversary. Wife and I sat in a booth that was decorated for our special day with rose petals and little diamonds (not real of course). There was a nice card too. The booth however was really tight and our waitress Heidi said all booths are the same. We started with the Jumbo lump crab. Delicious. The Panko crust on top was crunchy and it was all crab no additional filler. The sauce that on the plate was creamy and garlicky. For main course we had , Shrimp stuffed with crab, scallops, 10oz filet mignon with 5oz African Lobster Tail & truffle Mac and cheese. Scallops and shrimp were the highlight. Scallops were cooked perfect and it came with 3. The shrimp came with 4 and was seasoned to perfection. A must get. The Mac and Cheese had a nice crust , lots of truffle and the noodles were nicely al dente. The steak and lobster were very disappointing. For me the lobster seemed over cooked and hard to chew. The drawn butter didn't come with the dish so I had to ask. The steak, which I ordered medium rare was well seasoned yet a bit on the cold side. I had a hard time chewing it. Then we asked a waiter that walked by how my steak looked. He said it looked rare. This was when I was more than half done with it. Now for the best part. Heidi was so sweet. Checked in on us multiple times. She apologized for my meal asked if I wanted something else. I was too full. Then the manager, Farzana , came out to apologize and said my dish would be covered. Wow!!! We got our dessert, Banana Fosters, 2 cookies and ice cream. Banana Fosters was so good. I would come back the next time I'm in SD and celebrating a special occasion.

East Coast Oysters and West Coast Oysters Yellowtail Sashimi

I've been to Eddie V's Prime Seafood several times now, and it's easily become one of my favorite go-to spots for a special night out. The upscale vibe is always on point, and I especially love sitting in the room with the live music--there's something about the small band playing that just elevates the whole experience. On this visit, we started with oysters and the yellowtail sashimi--both were delicious, but the yellowtail was definitely the standout for me. So fresh and flavorful. For the main course, we tried a few different things. The creamy mashed potatoes were a bit too runny for my taste, so I wouldn't order them again, though my husband actually loved them. The crab-stuffed shrimp was good, but not quite worth the price. The Chilean sea bass, however, was a hit--my husband really enjoyed it. One thing that's always consistent is the service--attentive, professional, and very knowledgeable every time we visit. I also have to mention the wine--my favorite is the Dr. Hermann by the bottle. It's absolutely delicious, even if it comes with a screw top (don't let that fool you!). And dessert is a must here. The Bananas Foster is incredible--so good that we always try to save room for it. At this point, we've actually changed how we order. We usually skip the main courses and instead go for our favorites: the yellowtail sashimi and their complimentary bread. My husband loves the Maine lobster tacos, I always go for the jumbo crab cake, and we never leave without ordering the Bananas Foster. The only downside is that it can be pricey--but honestly, skipping the entrées helps keep things a bit more reasonable without sacrificing the experience.

Another holiday, another Eddie V's--and once again, flawless. 10/10. While most places push overpriced prix fixe menus, Eddie V's lets you order what you want--and delivers at a ridiculously high level. Service was dialed, vibe was elite, and they even decorated our table since we're expecting a baby any day now. That kind of detail matters. Highlights: Oysters 10/10 Shrimp cocktail 10/10 Beet salad 10/10 NY Strip 9.2/10 Potatoes au gratin 10/10 Dessert 10/10 Zero misses. Bottom line: consistently one of the best--holiday or not. Gives Steak 48 a real run for its money.

Upon arrival we were taken care by the valet, very easy! we were seated upstairs with a beautiful view!! Shannon greeted us with an amazing positive vibes. Great customer service, went above and beyond and she cares! She is a TOP TIER Merci beaucoup

Thanksgiving Dinner at Eddie V's. Very pleased to find out Eddie's was open for Thanksgiving. I have been to the El Segundo location many times and very happy with the food and service. First time take the family! We had a choice of a Turkey dinner or ordering off the menu. Two of us opted for the Turkey dinner, the Butternut Squash side really drew me in. One of us ordered Scallops and Truffle Mac n Cheesd. The Turkey Dinners were very filling! 12 oz of Turkey, II brought more than half back with us, although my husband finished Everton his plate. Gravy was great. Stuffing was made with brioche, mashed potatoes, green beans, and of course the amazing Butternut Squash! Their bread is so good, wheat sourdough. We brought our own wine and it paired very well with our meals! Prices are typical for a nice Seaffod and Steakhouse! Quality and quantity well worth the prices! Service was excellent. Very busy evening, we all had reservations. We were seated about 10 minutes after our reservation which was great. Holiday dinners out with many large groups and lots of families they did very well to get us seated. Our server, Rebecca P, was very friendly and helpful. She checked on us often. Others made sure our waters were refilled and plates removed. The manager stopped by to check on us (and other tables), that's service and caring about how you are doing by personally rounding with your customers.

I'm actually surprised that I haven't dropped a review on this amazing restaurant! This is my tired & true fave, reserved for special occasions. I came here for my friend's birthday and we were seated in the main dining area, next to the wine cellar. I love the live music, the superb customer service, & the little touches that they do to make occasions super special! We all got champagne to celebrate. My friend also got a handwritten birthday card and a generous serving of birthday dessert! We ordered: Ahi Tuna Tartare - This tuna was fresh and the chips were crisp. Crab Fried Rice - Big chunks of crab! Sooo delicious! Point Judith Calamari was crisp! Large portion good enough to share. Chilean Seabass - It was unveiled under a bamboo steamer with the delicious soy broth and the perfectly cooked fish. Crème Brûlée - This is never fail. Always on point. I always enjoy going here and I've been coming back year after year! I'll definitely be back again.

Our first time to Eddie Vs, San Diego and I must say, I was fully impressed with the quality of the food as well as the taste. Everything was super fresh and all of the stuff were wonderful, kind and attentive. The chef came out with a complimentary fried oyster and they also brought out a lovely bananas foster for my husband as we were celebrating his birthday. We will definitely be back and will tell everyone what a fabulous experience. Thank you so much!!!

Excellent service overall with shout out to Eddie and Alan, both for their attentive service and courteous demeanor. Food was very tasty including spicy tuna on crispy rice, calamari as starters. NY strip medium rare was on point. Au gratin potatoes were solid but the Mac n cheese was lacking flavor. Also, there was a limited selection of Pinot Noirs by the glass. We went for an early dinner, so it was nice and quiet. Good place to check out.

Such an interesting layout, but it works! We got to sit at a table right next to the waterfall and pond. Our server was very nice. Probably the only slip-up in service, was that our main came out when we had barely put a dent in apps. We were probably chatting and sipping on wine too much? The expo realized, kept the mains, and said take your time. Then he brought out mains when we were ready. Everything on the menu sounded amazing. My friend and I decided to both get the steak on the hot stone. It comes out raw and you have to keep track of time to cook it how you like it. You can choose flavored salts and butters and sauces for the side. We also shared the pickled strawberry salad. It had lots of toppings, flavor, and textures. The pozole verde was also excellent.

Our group was surprised as is was 2115, it's been open for about an hour and a half and packed. As you enter this old law office down a staircase one would find the "speakeasy statutes/rules" to maintain the 1920s atmosphere-- we loved the setting, the people, the drinks, and of course the live music!! One would not be disappointed. The cocktail menu was on an old record, which I thought it was so clever. Back to the rules, seems pretty easy! They mention to keep an open mind with the drinks as they do not carry vodkas, redbull, Budweiser or bulls**t. Mentioned a dresscode, more so be classic and states be respectful and don't be a di*k. I couldn't agree more with the rules. I don't think there is good at this establishment, as our group just came from dinner I wasn't looking for food. Just spirits, live music and a good time. Highly recommend if you are looking for live music and uniquely crafted cocktails.

A sponsor had rented out the whole place and all drinks were comped with food being passed around. We had cuban sandwiches and empanadas, which I think were all from the Havana restaurant upstairs. Food was great! Drinks were good, but the menu was so confusing to me. I didn't really like how they categorized them. Sometimes I feel like just being straightforward is better. Too cute with trying to do the prohibition/speakeasy menu. It did take a while to get drinks when it was packed. Understandable. But I had a few that were good, the boats and hoes, and keffir lime tequila drink were great. I would say that the bathroom had a bit of a stink to it...not sure what it was but smelled just like coming up from the pipes. May just be a basement issue. Overall, good experience. It didn't feel super special but just like any other speakeasy. I like False Idol better in terms of overall vibe.

Most recently we were there for an event and as always, they were nothing short of exceptional! The drinks are always fantastic but what really elevates this place is the staff. They always have the best attitude, they are so accommodating, and you can tell they want you to enjoy your experience in every way. During our most recent visit, Lamar really went above and beyond to ensure our group was able to all be together for an event. I'm so very grateful for his assistance and wanted to say thank you again for everything! This place is an absolute must each time we visit, and I would highly recommend adding it to your list to try!

Staff was also not very attentive to guests' needs, rather just going through the motions. For instance, they noted "standing room only" and that they would eventually seat our party of two. They walked us to an exact spot on the floor to stand and view the menu in the dark (we used our phone flashlights, but it wasn't easy while carrying our belongings too), and they instructed us not to order at the bar in this colorful but dimly lit tiki lounge. We essentially ordered from staff who took our order in the middle of the floor, then we had to hold our drinks, some that came with additional shot glasses, in full hands, as we were never seated. We did find a barrel to set our drinks on later, but their process and expectations for guests was just really weird and impractical. The theme and decor of the setting was lovely, with moments of a lightning and thunder effect that made the experience more immersive. But we were not impressed by the sticky menus and sticky floor, nor the lack of service and minimal help from staff while there. We made the most of our time at False Idol regardless of their shortcomings. The bombay sling and enigma de muerte were pretty decent in quality and flavor, so it's safe to say the drinks aren't the problem here. And though we probably won't return, it was cool for a one-time experience.

The single worst experience I've ever had going out…read more If you're friends with the servers, bartenders, or hosts, you'll probably have a great time. If you're not a regular, be careful, because apparently all it takes is one drunk friend of the staff making up a story to get you kicked out. While visiting San Diego with friends, we came here after hearing so many great things. There was a short wait, which was fine. The four of us were seated at a small standing table, also fine. Behind us were two guys drinking at the standing bar. One of them bumped into my friend and then stroked her arm while apologizing. She was visibly uncomfortable, so I told her to switch places with me. The guy immediately said, "We're gay, so you don't have to worry," then turned to his friend and said, "Now he looks so stupid and embarrassing." I told him, "I don't think it's embarrassing to make sure your friends are comfortable," then turned back around. I didn't argue with him, insult him, or continue the conversation. I thought that was the end of it. A few minutes later, the manager came over and told us we had made comments that made other patrons uncomfortable and asked us to leave. We had already paid for our drinks and were still waiting for them. My friend followed the manager to ask what was going on, and I joined shortly after. The person complaining was, of course, the same guy who had bumped into her. He was clearly drunk and started rambling about how we had made homophobic comments toward him and his friend. This was especially ridiculous considering the friend I switched places with was there with her girlfriend. We calmly explained exactly what happened. The manager did not care. There was no real attempt to hear our side, ask questions, or figure out what actually happened. The decision had clearly already been made. While we were speaking to the manager, the guy who complained was cheerfully talking with one of the bartenders, receiving a to-go meal, and greeting them cheek to cheek. He very obviously appeared to know the staff. So that seems to be how things work here: a drunk regular or friend of the staff can make up whatever story he wants, and management will throw out an entire group of paying customers without even pretending to investigate. They refunded the drinks, which was the bare minimum. The ambience was nice, but that means absolutely nothing when the staff handles customers this poorly. Awful management, blatant favoritism, and easily the worst service I have ever experienced. I would never come back, and I would strongly warn anyone who isn't already friends with the staff to stay away.

From the spooky, dark, skulls old school ambiance and decor, to the experience of not ordering from a menu, everything about it made it feel unique and curated making it feel like a true individualized experience. As mentioned, there are no menus. We sat at the bar, the bartender makes casual conversation with you regarding the types of drinks you enjoy. He curated something for both my husband and I based on what we shared we enjoyed. The drinks were delicious. The entry was very cool! It felt as if you were entering a hidden spot - which you do. When you enter the restaurant, you let the hostess know you're there for the Noble Experience. She let us know to head to the wall with the kegs (which is actually a door).
