Is in a great location right in downtown San Diego, but parking is honestly terrible. The closest and easiest option is using the valet about two blocks away through the Hilton Hotel. Good luck trying to find street parking or even parking in a nearby garage during busy hours. It would definitely be a huge plus if the restaurant offered valet service themselves. Once we got inside, we waited about 15 minutes for a table, which wasn't too bad considering how busy it was. The food was excellent, the service was great, and the staff was very friendly and attentive throughout the entire experience. Overall, despite the parking situation, we really enjoyed our visit and would come back again.

As someone who grew up in San Diego I can confidently say this is one of the best steakhouses in downtown. I would say it's only real competition is Cowboy Star because all the others either left or fell off, Born & Raised is pretty but the food is mid. It's located in one of the busiest parts of downtown in the heart of Gaslamp right across from the convention center. Parking can be tricky however we found a metered spot on the street directly in front of the restaurant for our 7 PM dinner so we got very lucky. Otherwise they offer valet parking at the Hilton or you can choose one of the many pay lots around. Inside the restaurant is very large with many different dining areas and a full bar. It has a very classic theme to it very similar to an East Coast steakhouse. Our server was extremely polite and everything came out surprisingly fast. They have a very large menu filled with all sorts of great options on it, so it took some time to choose. I finally settled with starting the meal off with a Grilled Jumbo Artichoke which I thought was wonderful. Next came the Roasted Beet Salad, which I also really enjoyed. The Humboldt Fog blue cheese with it was a great combo. For my entrée I chose the 10oz Barrel Cut Filet Mignon and thought it was absolutely fantastic. It was one of the better ones I've had recently and I would highly recommend. Overall, this is a fantastic restaurant in a really lively part of San Diego and I would recommend to anyone.

Phenomenal steakhouse and seafood restaurant. Stopped in for a dinner with family during our spring break. They didn't disappoint. Our server gave fantastic advice on the selections. The oysters are the absolute best! The crab cakes are delicious! And the filet mignon.....Perfection. One can also not forget, there is always room for dessert. The apple tart and key lime pie are a little piece of heaven. Looking forward to returning in the future!

Yummy food, constant service, old school vibes! Can't ask for more! Came for a work lunch and we all left full and ready to come back for more

Wow! First time ever at an actual steakhouse, and I'm happy that I gave Lou and Mickeys a chance. Me and my date had took the bar seating, the open patio seating overlooking the city was beautiful as well, a great use of space. The lovely bartender tended us with intent and gratitude. I ordered me a dirty martini timpani along with some oysters thay I have ordered. The 1/2 dozen. Tge oysters are very fresh, tge ones that I have indulged in were very salty. Not like a spoiled salty, but a sea salty.. a lovely fresh oyster. My main dish was the pasta that paired along with the clams, as well as a dirty martini. The pasta was cooked to perfection as well as the sauce. Went very well with the clams. From a short trip from Los Angeles to San Diego, if I ever was to come back ago glaslamp, this restaurant is the first stop I'm going to make to indulge in my martinis and oysters!

great place for steak & seafood. We ordered the calamari, teriyaki filet mignon, chicken Cesar salad, sirloin & cocktails and were not disappointed. Service was on point, attentive and friendly. It is a bit pricey but food was superb. Cocktails were average but overall good spot. My only issue was when you sit on the patio you are going to smell the sewage which makes it difficult to enjoy the meal but the food is delicious. Ambiance is classy and upscale, very nice

Date Night at Lou & Mickey's. Food= Oysters: delicious and fresh. The Habanero Lime Relish! Clam Chowder: great taste and texture. Mushrooms: highly recommend! Mac and Cheese: delicious crispy topping and great flavor. Fillet Medallions: 10/10 absolutely amazing, cooked to perfection and so tender. 6oz A5 New York: disappointment. Very tender but surprisingly lacking in flavor. Service= Our waiter was wonderful, very attentive, friendly, and helped me pick the perfect wine for the oysters. Ambiance= Perfect date‑night spot. We chose indoor seating since it was a bit chilly outside, and it felt cozy and comfortable. Drinks= The cocktails were delicious, and I loved that each one came with a napkin featuring a photo and description of the drink. Super cute touch! Great location, great experience. Even the bathrooms impressed me (hooks for purses, huge win!). I'd definitely go back. My husband said he won't order the Wagyu again, but he loved my medallions. YUM!

Came here in between lunch and dinner service for a snack/ pick me up during a conference. The clam chowder and oyster sampler was awesome! In the Gaslamp district. Great service too!

I feel so lucky to have dined here! It's an old-school steakhouse with dark interiors and a meat locker! We were seated in the back of the restaurant. He ordered the margarita verde and I opted for a mocktail. Both drinks were refreshing and delicious. Complimentary bread rolls and butter was brought out. The rolls were nice and warm. We shared the artichoke as our appetizer and they were perfectly charred. For our main entree, we got the t-bone steak and mac n cheese as our side. The steak was perfectly aged and sauce was the perfect complement. We saved room for dessert too, which was a rich cheesecake. Service was very attentive and excellent. I need to back again ASAP LOL.

So disappointed Walked in to a lots of open tables. I admit I didn't have a reservation. They told us 45 minutes, but when I look we were the only ones in the wait list. No way they are fully booked with reservations, it's Gaslamp. We left after 15 minutes and 5 different parties leaving with us still having a 45 minute wait. The staff really make the difference between a 1 & 5 star.

12/27/2025 We had dinner here since it was an easy couple minute walk from our hotel. It is located right at the west (?) end of the Gaslamp Quarter, closer to the convention center. We chose outside seating since the pouring rain finally stopped. It was also nice to people watch as we ate. Our server, Eric, was friendly and attentive. We were able to get our salad and potato split when we told him we were sharing them. Our food was pretty good. Hubby's salmon was cooked well, though it was a smaller portion than he anticipated. Luckily I had more than enough lobster tails to share with my Baked Twin Lobster Tail order. One tail was cooked really well - tender and flavorful. But for some reason the second tail just tasted okay. Parts of the second tail seemed overdone and dry. The wedge salad was ginormous! I think we each had a half of a lettuce head each. HAHAHA! The baked potato was cooked well and was almost the length of my fork.

We were staying at the Omni hotel and were so happy to find that Lou & Mickey's was the next block over. We were able to walk in and be seated after leaving a Padres game early. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. The patio looks great for people watching. The interior gives old school classy steakhouse vibes. Christina was our server. She provided amazing service for us. I started off with the Fifth Avenue cocktail which was refreshing and light. We shared the sirloin cap which we asked to be sliced and the garlic shrimp which were huge. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium temperature and had such good flavor and seasoning that steak sauce wasn't needed. We also split the roasted broccolini which had tahini and feta cheese. Christina brought out a slice of chocolate cake for my son's birthday which was the perfect ending to our meal. A big slice of chocolate cake with gooey frosting alongside whipped cream and vanilla ice cream hit the spot after our dinner. There are so many steakhouses to dine at in the Gaslamp Quarter. Lou & Mickey's should definitely be on your list.

The food is extremely delicious The service by a Asterois was perfect. He helped us with every little thing we needed five stars for him. The ambulance was fun. We will be back soon.
