Korrine at Eddy James Salon is an awesome stylist!!! I had gone to another salon; the stylist gave me the worst color and jacked up the cut! After having a previously terrible hair color experience at another salon, I was hesitant to try new places. I am so so glad I was able to find Berta at Eddy James Salon and don't have to worry about a hair color gone wrong ever again. She's done my hair for a while now and my pet peeve is when stylists do what they want with your hair and not what you want done to your hair. Let me assure you, Berta is not that stylist. She listens to all your requests, gives her suggestions and always delivers! And if you are afraid to let go of some length in you hair, do not worry, she will cut as little (or as much if you let her) off your hair and still leave it healthy and fresh! She is such a funny and bubbly person the entire experience with her is a blast and you really feel like you are getting pampered the entire way through. Berta's head rub during the rinse is pure heaven and she will blow dry your hair in a way to leave you looking and feeling like you own the day. I highly recommend her for any hair requests really since I have always left loving all her services from dyeing to cutting to blowdrying. SO HAPPY to finally find a salon and hairstylist that I LOVE! I just moved to LA about a year ago an have been very hesitant about having someone here cut my hair, especially after a bad experience with another stylist. Thankfully my paths crossed with Ray. My husband and I live nearby, and what started as convenience for us has turned into a deep appreciation for Eddy's services. I've been given gift certificates in swag bags for other places and checked them out, but always come back to Eddy. The bottom line is that he makes me look terrific. Our kids are older now. Eddy gives great 'rock star' to my 14-year old, and as a father of girls, gives my 12-year old daughter a haircut that delicately walks that balance between 'I am becoming a lovely, vibrant adult' and 'I am a good daughter of parents who care'. Nicole superlatively styled my daughter's hair after Eddy cut it last. She's been flicking her hair since AND has finished all of her homework! OMG!!!! Just had a hair cut with Eddie....AMAZING transformation!!! My hair was long - below shoulders, I am a very very busy person, no time to blow dry or style it...after weeks considering chopping it off I kept on asking myself who I'd go to for such major job...I live in the area and noticed how busy this place is...called in the afternoon to make an appointment. I've lived in LA almost six years now and have had my hair cut at a few different places until finally finding Eddy James, where I've been going the past year or so. My first time there I went in as a "blind" appointment -- I didn't know any of the stylists -- but they set me up with Mallory and she was great. She really knows men's hair and gives me a consistently good look every time, all while changing things here and there to mold my hair in a certain direction; she really has an eye for long term style and knows what to do each time to get you there. Coming in a year ago I didn't think that my hair would look like it does today, but I couldn't be happier with what Mallory has done. My color was such a mess! Other Salons sent me away and said my hair was ruined. That it would take months to color correct and I had to cut it short, or else. I did not know what to do, so I let my hair go and did nothing. It kept looking bad. One day when I was driving down Ventura Blvd. I saw the Eddy James Salon and a sign about hair color repair. I can agree with another review...Eddy James is very rude, doesn't even bother to acknowledge your existence, much less your business. I own a business and know the importance of appreciating your clients (without them you have nothing), but Eddy has a lot to learn in that department. He is more concerned with getting new clients...once you are a client you are no longer important...the new client is. I will go somewhere that my weekly business is appreciated. read more

Literally the WORST haircut experience I have ever had the displeasure of receiving. I came her per recommendation from several friends, and as I was new to the area I decided to give it a shot. I sat down for my appointment, no hello, no how are you, the receptionist just looked at me. Finally after a few minutes of me waiting patiently she sends me down the hall with little to no instruction and I had to figure out where the capes were on my own. Nice touch. Then I sit at the front and wait, and wait, and wait..... Mind you that I was on time for my appointment. I see two hairstylists working on a single client, one of them turns out to be the namesake himself. I went to Eddy thinking "he owns a moderately successful salon, surely he'll know what he's doing." I have fine, short, blonde hair so it's not particularly hard to cut but it shows a bad cut super easily. I finally sit down in the chair after almost half an hour of waiting and with hardly a discussion about what we're doing, he starts hacking away at my head with clippers like its a unruly lawn. He gave me a men's style bowl cut from the 90's, ala early Leo Decaprio. All this would have been fine I suppose except that I'm a WOMAN, and this was very clearly an old school style men's haircut. Short hair on women should not be masculine! After only 10-15 minutes of "cutting" with his buzzers, he shampoos me, throws in goopy sticky styling product and sends me out the door. I was so in shock I couldn't process what had happened to my head, until a few minutes later when I received my food order and the delivery person called me "sir." I immediately called the salon and demanded my money back, which they graciously granted me. One star for customer service after the fact, but my hair is still messed up months later. DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

Eddy James Salon is classy and gorgeous! I got an ombré done by Berta, who did an amazing job! I love how it turned out! When I first went in, Berta was really nice and informative about the process. We briefly talked about what I wanted, and I showed some reference images I had for the look I wanted. I had used drugstore boxed dyes for years (dark browns and black) which I was afraid would be difficult to lift to get to a blonde shade, but Berta was able to lift it quite a bit during my first visit. I wanted to go a little lighter so we scheduled a second visit and now I'm even more satisfied with with the way my ombré turned out! I have gotten so many compliments! I should have wrote read this feedbacks before going there , My daughter had a Berzilian with Zaida, she went there spent 3 hrs. with $350.00 , absolutely nothing happened to her hair, she explained to my daughter this is not a straightening technique , and it only takes poofiness out but, it did not work. I called her trying to resolve she did not want to talk to me she said nothing she can do, I can do as I wish. She did not want to hear me out and wanted to hang up as soon possible, she asks everyone to bring cash. She is really rude and does not want to talk to you if you are unhappy. The manager could not do anything either she said it is out of her hand. I need to deal with her. So please be warned.. read more

Rickell gives the most AMAZING blow dry you will EVER have. If you want to feel like a supermodel , Rickell is the one you want to see. She has a great personality and she's gorgeous as well. When you leave her chair you feel like a million bucks. Her package blowout price equivalates to the the same as the DRY BAR and way better. After going to the same hairdresser for the past 18 years, my hair was so out of date, and I needed to find a hairdresser that was current and could change my look. The best day of my life was getting referred to Eddy by several people. I set up a consultation with him (my hair is very thick, course and layered), and he told me what I should do with my hair and I loved what he had to say. I started out with a Brazilian blowout, which changed my look immediately. Next was new base color with highlights and lowlights. It looked so good and everyone that I knew loved it. When I looked in the mirror, I couldn't believe that I was looking at me! Had to let uneven layers grow out, and he cut the back off the other day. I am so impressed with him and how I look, that he has me forever! Kennedy did the blowout and color (Eddie oversaw her in the beginning) and she is just fabulous! I love my hair; am crazy about Eddie, and everyone in the salon could not be nicer. I wish I found him years ago, but am so happy that I finally decided to make a switch. I can't say enough great things about him and Kennedy. I look much younger and current. Making the move was the best thing that has happened to me in a long time. This review is for Nicolette Lefebre. The Best!!! She is so amazing and does an amazing job on my hair!!! She is a super sweet person. A true sweetheart and really cares about you and your hair She makes me feel so comfortable. Absolutely the best I have ever been to. I have had a lot of people color and cut my hair before and it got to the point where I started coloring my own hair until I had Nicolette do my hair. She is so talented and such a Perfectionist. I completely trust her with my hair and any suggestions she gives me. I always want to try something new with my hair and I give her my ideas and it always turns out better than what I could have imagined. She is such an artist when it comes to my color. I don't know how she does it. She definately is a color specialist. She is young in her early 20's but really is an expert already. I can only imagine 10 years from now. Her cuts are excellent too! I highly reccomend her for anyone who wants to look beautiful wether it's something simple or extreme she is your gal. I only let her do my hair now. There just is no comparison.
